Don't Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will
when the road you are trudging to seems uphill
When funds are low and depts are high
You want to smile, but you have to sigh
If rest is pressing you down, if you must, rest a bit
But don't quit.

Still I Walk
I walk this road alone, I fear
Route unknown but my end is clear
Still I walk with determined stride
No place to rest, no stars to guide
Another fork, more twists and turns
Each fork a test and lessons learned
Still I walk, thru sheer strength and will
Though my journey lies all uphill
How queer it is, this path I take
My shoes are worn, my feet do ache
Still I walk with unchanging gait
To meet the end, we all call fate
We all share such similar paths
To all an end by nature's wrath
Still I walk with unyeilding grit
Hope guides me, never shall I quit
From start to finish, from womb to rest
Cherish the Journey, for we all are blessed
Looking (Meditation)
looking for awakening,
i gave up, and quit looking,
- the petals opened!
i do the wrong thing,
say the wrong thing,
think the wrong thing,
feel the wrong thing...
so many times every day
that it pisses me off!
seems like the harder i try
the worse i become!
maybe i need to quit trying!
looking for freedom,
i gave up, and quit looking,
- my chains fell to the ground!
i walk down this same road
again and again, and
nothing ever changes!
every time i get to the end
it begins again.
this really pisses me off!
seems like the further i walk
the further i have to go!
maybe i need to quit walking!
looking for redemption,
i gave up, and quit looking,
-and found the key within my heart!

Along The Road
Along the vacant road,
There is no rest; I wait
For lovely beauty to show
Around the bend of life and smiles.
My wrinkled smile kept concern
For the following of life,
A path is a road to life,
Around the corner we stare.
Soothing like a girl of heaven,
The twisting red road entails
And this word shall rest
With our bending for all our lives.

First day
I see you found my underground
Help yourself to guns and ammo
Nothing here has ever seen the light of day
I leave it in my head
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
You'll remember me, for the rest of your life
You'll remember me, for the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
It's the first day of the rest of your life
You'll remember me, for the rest of your life
You'll remember me, for the rest of your life

Get Some Rest
Getting little rest...
Isn't what's suggested is the best thing.
But...
Once one is committed,
It's difficult to quit.
Like many would would rather sit,
Just to...
Reminisce a bitterness,
Or...
Ignore the taking of those risks,
To...
Excuse the value of it.
And as a bit of a reminder...
Progress isn't made by sitting.
Progress isn't made by quitting.
Progress takes sacrificing,
What is wanted and what one likes.
And...
Progress isn't made by wishing.
Progress isn't made by shrinking...
Away to sneak a taste of cake,
While awaiting for someone else to make.
And...
Progress isn't made by sitting.
No.
Progress isn't made by quitting.
no.
Progress takes sacrificing,
What one wants, prefers and likes.
And,
Getting little rest...
Isn't what's suggested is the best thing.
But...
Once one is committed,
It's difficult to quit.
Like many would would rather sit,
Just to...
Reminisce a bitterness,
Or...
Ignore the taking of those risks,
To...
Excuse the value of it.
And as a bit of a reminder...
Get up and be tough.
Know,
To quit is not the best thing.
But...
Enough is enough.
And...
When it gets too rough,
You can...
Decide to get tougher.
But...
Get your rest.
Remember,
You can't do nuthin without...
Getting some rest.
You've got to,
Get your rest.
You've got to,
Get some rest!

Smiles
Smile a little, smile a little,
As you go along,
Not alone when life is pleasant,
But when things go wrong.
Care delights to see you frowning,
Loves to hear you sigh;
Turn a smiling face upon her –
Quick the dame will fly.
Smile a little, smile a little,
All along the road;
Every life must have its burden,
Every heart its load.
Why sit down in gloom and darkness
With your grief to sup?
As you drink Fate’s bitter tonic,
Smile across the cup.
Smile upon the troubled pilgrims
Whom you pass and meet;
Frowns are thorns, and smiles are blossoms
Oft for weary feet.
Do not make the way seem harder
By a sullen face;
Smile a little, smile a little,
Brighten up the place.
Smile upon your undone labour;
Not for one who grieves
O’er his task waits wealth or glory;
He who smiles achieves.
Though you meet with loss and sorrow
In the passing years,
Smile a little, smile a little,
Even through your tears.

Just Like All The Rest.
Just like all the rest, oh girl what have you been through. How can you say such things when you don't know. Hasn't he told you. I'm a train wreck. A man looking for a little substance in my life. And again you say like all the rest. Girl you must be so blessed to say that to me. For i know what i need and so must you. Cataclysmic was the time when we met. I was weak, so were you. I was looking for somebody. So were you. Still i hear you say just like all the rest. I must confess. When worlds collide. And tears fall that we try to hide. Always the better person. So rehearsed. So well versed. I can say just like all the rest. You left in such a mess. And you will still never know. You got to give someone a chance before you just let go. Just like all the rest are words i shall never forget.

The Rest Might
The rest might...
Criticize.
The rest might,
Analyze the times.
But these are
Only the times to live.
And these are
Only the times to give...
'What' and 'how' we can.
The rest might...
Try to hide.
The rest might,
Cry with alibis.
But sympathies
Really do not pay.
Not even wishing
That these times go away.
Nothing,
Today will stay!
The rest might...
Close their eyes.
The rest might,
Fight themselves inside.
But even having nothing more to say...
Wont make a difference,
If all things decay...
Right before our eyes!
The rest might...
Criticize.
The rest might,
Analyze the times.
But these are
Only the times to live.
And these are
Only the times to give...
'What' and 'how' we can.
So live your life enhanced!

The Rest Of My Life
Dont look now but theres another rocky road
Another heavy why? of the much 2 heavy, heavy load
But 2day Im gonna face it, yeah, cuz Im sick of dealin any other way
Nobody said the race was fair but Im gonna keep runnin just the same
2day, 2day is the first day of the rest of my life
Dont look now but here comes another heartbreak
Benefit of the doubt Ill give it, control of my life Ive gotta take
Cuz Im alive and thats reason enough 4 me 2 bust a smile
Ive arrived and now I wanna stay 4 a little while
Cuz 2day, 2day is the first day of the rest of my life
Lets go
2day, 2day is the first day of the rest of my life
2day, 2day is the first day of the rest of my life

Look
LOOK
Look
The sky the trees
Simple things
Rest
You do not have to write anything yet-
Look and be quiet
See how beautiful the morning lights are
Look
Even the spaces in between things are beautiful
Look
Look and rest
Let your eyes be your dream
Look
Rest
See

Rest Of My Life
Suddenly, it happened so fast
I couldn't believe the news that I received
My heart stopped as I hit the floor
I fell to my knees cryin' Lord help me
No matter what time brings
All the changes we go through
In life there's some things
We just can't prepare for
I don't care what they say
Don't care what they do
I don't care what they think
I'm gonna love you for the rest of my life
Don't they know
True love never dies
I promise to love you for the rest of my life
Life goes on that's what they say
Time will heal all your pain away
But I feel, feel so alone and
Now you're gone how can I live on
No matter what time brings
All the changes we go through
In life there's some things
We just can't prepare for
I don't care what they say
Don't care what they do
I don't care what they think
I'm gonna love you for the rest of my life
Don't they know
True love never dies
I promise to love you for the rest of my life
Until I see you again
I'll hold on to sweet memories
I'll treasure the times we spent
I see I'd do anything
I see your face, I see your smile
Callin' out my name
I don't care what they say
Don't care what they do
I don't care what they think
I'm gonna love you for the rest of my life
Don't they know true love never dies
I promise to love you for the rest of my life
I don't care what they say
Don't care what they do
I don't care what they think
I'm gonna love you for the rest of my life
I don't care what they say
I don't care what they do
What they think
'Cause I promise, I promise
To love you for the rest of my life
(for the rest of my life

Waving My Arms In The Air/never Lied To You
Waving my arms in the air
Love, my love, got no care
No care, no, no, pressing my feet to the ground
Stand up right where you stand
Call to you and what do you do
Laying back in a chair?
She's so high on the air
She's so high on the air
Half and half, half and half
All you have to do to call
Is hold her hand, stand a while
And then smile and we'll understand
Yes we do - yes, yes we do!
Oh what a girl i've got too!
Oh what a girl i've got too!
With her slinky look she held her tie to her hair
(and i) could see everywhere
No-one in the land, no-one
No-one in the land, no-one
But it rains on saturday - cats and dogs in the way
Stormy day, hey, hey
And you shouldn't try to be
What you can't be
And you shouldn't try to be
What you can't be
Call to you and what do you do
There will be shoulders pressing in the hall
And i won't know if you're here at all
There will be wine and drinking in the yard
There won't be anybody very hard
There will be lots of things that we can do
And all and more will be for you
Everything i knew i tried with you
But everything to you was never easy
So i went ahead around my world
I saw the things you do arriving by your side
To see you looking too
But i know this. i know, i never lied to you
It's been just like you're gone
For just one day for so long!
It's been so hard to bear with you not there
But though i think of you, the things you do
When i'm with you, to be with you,
To be alone...can only think:
"why i am here? what's meant to be?

That Lonesome Road
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself
Dont turn your head back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon
Is shining high above the trees
If I had stopped to listen once or twice
If I had closed my mouth and opened my eyes
If I had cooled my head and warmed my heart
Id not be on this road tonight
Carry on
Never mind feeling sorry for yourself
It doesnt save you from your troubled mind
Walk down that lonesome road all by yourself
Dont turn your head back over your shoulder
And only stop to rest yourself when the silver moon
Is shining high above the trees

Don't Lose Courage
When things go wrong and you are blue,
When there’s nothing that you want to do,
When you feel your world’s falling apart,
When you feel that you just can’t make a start.
Don’t lose courage, don’t lose heart,
Put on a smile and restart.
For life is precious and shouldn’t be thrown away,
And after every dark night there’s a bright day.
When the road ahead seems all uphill,
And your chances of happiness range from zero to nil.
When life is hard and your spirits, are low,
When there’s nowhere for you to go.
Don’t lose courage, don’t lose strength,
Get on your feet and start again.
For though today is sad, tomorrow will give,
A brand new reason for you to live.

When Am I Going To Rest
When am I going to rest?
When I'm going to fetch water
You are on my back
When I'm going to fetch firewood
You are on my back
Oh! When am I going to rest?
When am I going to rest?
When I want to rest
You are on my breast
Suckling like a calf
Yet you have little sharpened teeth
I can even scream if you bite my breast.
All you know is to wee wee, eat and cry
Without giving me time to rest
To my breast
You are the pest
Applying pepper might be a pest control
But still I will not rest
Because there is much to do for you
Perhaps death will be my rest.

Dirge To A Nigerian Vacuum
Rest, rest, you silenced leaves
Dance, dance till to eternity you set
Where the heat of theft scorches not
Rest, rest, maligned brothers of a crash
Dance, dance from the platter of charred peat
Tanned in aluminium crusts
Where you leave bereft of earthly troubles
Rest, rest, rested Nigerian comrades

A Song (#1)
ON a summer's day as I sat by a stream,
A dainty maid came by,
And she blessed my sight like a rosy dream,
And left me there to sigh, to sigh,
And left me there to sigh, to sigh.
On another day as I sat by the stream,
This maiden paused a while,
Then I made me bold as I told my dream,
She heard it with a smile, a smile,
She heard it with a smile, a smile.
Oh, the months have fled and the autumn's red,
The maid no more goes by;
For my dream came true and the maid I wed,
And now no more I sigh, I sigh,
And now no more I sigh.

The people have drunk the wine of peace
The people have drunk the wine of peace
In the streets of town.
They smile as they drift with hearts at rest
Uphill and down.
The people have drunk the wine of peace,
They are mad with joy.
Never again need they lie and fear
Death for a boy.

April On Waggon Hill
Lad, and can you rest now,
There beneath your hill!
Your hands are on your breast now,
But is your heart so still?
'Twas the right death to die, lad,
A gift without regret,
But unless truth's a lie, lad,
You dream of Devon yet.
Ay, ay, the year's awaking,
The fire's among the ling,
The beechen hedge is breaking,
The curlew's on the wing;
Primroses are out, lad,
On the high banks of Lee,
And the sun stirs the trout, lad;
From Brendon to the sea.
I know what's in your heart, lad,---
The mare he used to hunt---
And her blue market-cart, lad,
With posies tied in front---
We miss them from the moor road,
They're getting old to roam,
The road they're on's a sure road
And nearer, lad, to home.
Your name, the name they cherish?
'Twill fade, lad, 'tis true:
But stone and all may perish
With little loss to you.
While fame's fame you're Devon, lad,
The Glory of the West;
Till the roll's called in heaven, lad,
You may well take your rest.

Pressing On
Well Im pressing on
Yes, Im pressing on
Well Im pressing on
To the higher calling of my lord.
Many try to stop me, shake me up in my mind,
Say, prove to me that he is lord, show me a sign.
What kind of sign they need when it all come from within,
When whats lost has been found, whats to come has already been?
Well Im pressing on
Yes, Im pressing on
Well Im pressing on
To the higher calling of my lord.
Shake the dust off of your feet, dont look back.
Nothing now can hold you down, nothing that you lack.
Temptations not an easy thing, adam given the devil reign
Because he sinned I got no choice, it run in my vein.
Well Im pressing on
Yes, Im pressing on
Well Im pressing on
To the higher calling of my lord.
