This Game with the Wheel and Stick
The whiff of exultance stirs the maladroit pace
Of the mantling clouds of the noon-time haze,
‘Twas another dance for the buckling dusts
Beneath the fluttering canopy of the jaunty slugs
Of feet and the tinkering gist these children seek
In playing this game with the wheel and stick;
Beating the corpulent ring with a stick up the hill
And down need not steer the unfettered wheel
In the innocuous charade, my resilience trampled
As I heard the wails of the shattering scaffold
Oh, what a picturesque scene bloats the meadows
While these children fondle the stick and the wheel wallows;
The joie de vivre that inveigles the unclothed sun,
The glissando phase that cloys the assiduous wand
And the same impetus that conveys the wheel in miles
Could only taint a scarce desire in my lifeless smiles
The system is simple: participate but do not topple
Pound the wheel with the stick and veer quite supple
And the wheel shall roll with the frothing chortles
While the stick hang loosely in chasing the dawdle
Over and over, the stick shall thrust the cavalcade
While sating in the wheel's travails and the giggling serenade
Pummeling and pummeling but never setting farther
Gobbling the friction in a farce quite harder
Of course you haven't followed my sympathy for the stick
For you have never been at the fringes of the creek
Have you seen the hands that suffocates the baton
And how it vied to hold back in its chaffed complexion?
For in the master plan it is but a tepid fire
That shall ignite the cloaked potency of a quagmire
And never an expedition without the trimmings of surfeit,
And never the buoyant rolling in the grasses of fate.

Stick By Me
Stick by me and I'll stick by you
Stick by me and I'll stick by you
My life here on earth would be useless can't you see
If I didn't have you to stick by me
I love you darling and that's no lie
Stick by me and I'll stick by you
When you cry I cry too
Stick by me and I'll stick by you
Friends may try to hurt us
Scandalise our name
But no one (no-one) can tear us apart
You have a place in my heart
I love you darling and that's no lie
Stick by me and I'll stick by you
Remember my heart and love belongs to you
Stick by me and I'll stick by you
When you cry I'll cry too
Stick by me and I'll stick by you

Sweet Summer Day
(4.04)
I'm gonna stick by you, everyday
Iwon't let you down now
No matter what they say
I won't let them get to you, no way
I'll stick by you
I'm going to stick by you
Now I know
No matter what tomorrow brings
I won't let you go
I won't let them get to you, Oh no
I'll stick by you
And when the laughter seems to fade away
And Mr Sun becomes a rainy day
Oh it don't matter cause you'll know anyway
I won't let you down
I'm gonna stick by you
I'll stick by you
Going to stick by you, now I know
No matter what tomorrow brings
I won't let you go
I won't let them get to you, no
I'll stick by you, I'll stick by you
I'll stick by you, I'll stick by you

Who Invented the Wheel?
Who invented the wheel?
It is an F. A. Q.
That is here eversince
The wheel came into view
Were it the Sumerians?
Can anyone say who?
Everybody's asking
Nobody seems to know
Who did first use the wheel?
The same and old query
The answer is around
Though not easy to see
Salamander or spider
Transforms into a ball
And like a wheel he goes
Down of a hill he rolls
A wheel without axle
He doesn't have to crawl

Held Up With Just A Stick
Held up with just a stick.
Held up with just a stick.
Held up with just a stick.
Held up with just a stick.
Held up with just a stick,
It seems...
Held up with just a stick,
One's head...
Held up with just a stick,
Their arms and their legs...
Needing to be fed.
And...
Held up with just a stick,
One's pride...
Held up with just a stick,
Two eyes and two ears...
Living poverty so near,
To...
Famish it is clear.
And...
Held up with just a stick,
Hunger.
Held up with just a stick,
Life!
Held up with just a stick,
Blight!
And those who fight death in their sight.
Held up with just a stick,
Life!
Held up with just a stick,
Pride!
Held up with just a stick,
Blight!
And those who fight death in their sight.
Held up with just a stick,
And...
There's no benefit to it.
Held up with just a stick,
Life!
Held up with just a stick,
Pride!
Held up with just a stick,
Blight!
And living this is NOT a gift.
Held up with just a stick,
And...
There's no benefit to it.
Held up with just a stick.
Held up with just a stick.
Held up with just a stick.
Held up with just a stick.

Head For The Barricade
FIGHT, FIGHT
FIGHT, FIGHT
FIGHT, FIGHT
FIGHT, FIGHT
Sometimes you gotta fight for your right
When your not sure you're in a fight for your life right?
If you ain't packin any tactics
You might get ass kicked
Even if you are you little knucklehead
I'm kinda sick of being aggravated
I'm glad I'm hated
I guess I'm doing something right
But that's what happened back in Columbine
You gotta know when to stop
And not go over the top
Cause there's a chamber deep inside the brain
It's covered with chains
So don't be shaking them loose
And if you do I'll be running for the hills
Cause I'm ready to rock and now we're playing for real
I gotta
FIGHT FIGHT
You better watch out when my adrenaline kicks I gotta
FIGHT FIGHT
IT'S TOO LATE, YOU ALREADY BEEN HIT, DAMN!
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM
STICK 'EM HA HAHA STICK 'EM
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM
YEAH! (Head for the barricades)
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM
STICK 'EM HA HAHA STICK 'EM
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM
YEAH! (Head for the barricades)
This world can make you stick to your stomach so I
Put on my headphones, listen to the Deftones
It's getting crowded in my spaceship
Living in a dream
Running from the hate machine
You know it's,
Such a drag when there's people talking down to ya
Such a drag when everything sucks do ya,
Walk away with spit on your face or do ya,
Draw lines and give them a taste cause I,
Know it's never gonna end
If it happens again I'm going straight for the throat
Another note
Don't forget you had a chance
Now I'm over the sidelines and ready to dance
I gotta
FIGHT FIGHT
You better watch out when my adrenaline kicks I gotta
FIGHT FIGHT
IT'S TOO LATE, YOU ALREADY BEEN HIT, DAMN!
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM
STICK 'EM HA HAHA STICK 'EM
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM
YEAH! (Head for the barricade)
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM
STICK 'EM HA HAHA STICK 'EM
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM
YEAH! (Head for the barricade)
IF YOU GOT THE GUTS (Head for the barricade)
Then come on down (Head for the barricade)
IF YOU GOT THE GUTS (Head for the barricade)
Then come on down (Head for the barricade)
AND HEAD FOR THE BARRICADE
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
GET UP GET UP
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
GET UP GET UP
FIGHT
HEAD FOR THE BARRICADE
I ain't playin around
HEAD FOR THE BARRICADE
I ain't playin around
HEAD FOR THE BARRICADE
STICK 'EM STICK 'EM

Sitting At The Wheel
I can hear the music playing
I can hear the word that youre saying
I can see the lovelife in your eyes
Whats the use in looking for an answer
I might find out
It could be a disaster
Hold on to your own time
Dont let go
Dont let go
Im sitting at the wheel
Watching the river roll roll on by
Sitting at the wheel
Dont let the river run dry
I can see your face on a piece of tomorrow
Ill hang my dream on a road I can follow
I gotta touch the warmth of your love
Not gonna take a chance a
Change of direction
Gonna keep on rolling till I find the connection
Hold on to your lifeline
Dont let
Dont let go
Sitting at the wheel
Watching the river roll roll on by
Sitting at the wheel
Dont let the river run dry
Im sitting at
Im sitting at the wheel
Like a voyeur standing at the edge of time
Looking for a reason
Thats got no rhyme
Love took a corner
Shot off for a mile
Rock on --- rocker
I can hear the music playing
I can hear the word that youre saying
I can see the lovelife in your eyes
Aint no use in looking for an answer
I might find out
It could be a disaster
Hold on to your own time
Dont let go
Dont let go
Im sitting at the wheel
Watching the river rock and roll on by
Sitting at the wheel
I am just sitting
Im just sitting at the wheel

Stick Around
Youve been smiling lately baby
Youve been singing in the bath
Youve been acting like a lady
Not a dirty photograph
Then tonight you came home early
Packed a bag or two
Its been worrying me honey
Just what youre gonna do
Stick around, yeah, stick around
Stick around, babe, stick around
Well you came on like a hurricane
Blowing like a stiff breeze
Always on the go
All the good times that we had
All stayed in the past
All the good lays that I get
Never seem to last
Stick around, yeah, stick around
Stick around, babe, stick around
(come on baby, sit on this)
What have I been doing lately
To make you wanna go
I take you out dancing
Honey we can go out to a show
Spend a night romancing
Nights out on the town
Listen to me baby
Youll be glad you stopped around
Stick around, yeah, stick around
Stick around, babe, stick around

I Lie Around
I lie around
All over the place
It seems that I have no choice in the matter
Roll along wheel of fortune
As you roll along I stick around
Furthermore in the country
I will lay my burden down
I lie around
I lie around
I lie around
All over the place
All over the place
All over the place
All over the place
Too long have I been the heart of the matter
All along I was only over tired and overtaken
Furthermore in the country
I will lay my burden down
I lie around
I lie around
I lie around
All over the place
So long, bye bye, it was fun while it mattered
Roll along wheel of fortune
As you roll along I stick around
Furthermore in the country
I will lay my burden down
Yes, I lie around
All over the place
All over the place
All over the place
I lie around, around

Idylls Of The King: Song From The Marriage Of Geraint
Turn, Fortune, turn thy wheel, and lower the proud;
Turn thy wild wheel thro' sunshine, storm, and cloud;
Thy wheel and thee we neither love nor hate.
Turn, Fortune, turn thy wheel with smile or frown;
With that wild wheel we go not up or down;
Our hoard is little, but our hearts are great.
Smile and we smile, the lords of many lands;
Frown and we smile, the lords of our own hands;
For man is man and master of his fate.
Turn, turn thy wheel above the staring crowd;
Thy wheel and thou are shadows in the cloud;
Thy wheel and thee we neither love nor hate.

Drivin Wheel
(t-bone burnett/billy swan)
Well, all I want is a love thats hot
Cant be sold, cant be bought
Yeah, love that dont try to be somethin its not
Well, all I need is a love thats real
None can rob and none can steal
Hey, love that moves like a drivin wheel
Well, all I want is drivin wheel
All I want is a drivin wheel
All round love my ideal
Well, all I want is love thats right
To hold onto with all my might
Hey, early in the mornin and late at night
Well, all I want is drivin wheel
All I want is a drivin wheel
Hey, all round love my ideal
All I want is a drivin wheel
All I want is a drivin wheel
Hey, all round love my ideal
All I want is a drivin wheel

It All Comes True
I stand here a black man I have no history
I was brought up in east chicago and I grew up on the streets
The chains around the playground were the chains around my heart
The brand upon my shoulder well it reminds you who you are
Chorus:
And it all comes true yes it all comes true
Like a wheel inside a wheel it turns on you
And you think, what have I done? what can I do?
What you believe about yourself
It all comes true
I was just a young girl my mother called me hon
My father was unhappy cause I should have been his son
They said, learn to be a waitress and learn to be a wife
And be thankful for a chance to live an ordinary life
Chorus:
And it all comes true yes it all comes true
Like a wheel inside a wheel it turns on you
And you think, what have I done? what can I do?
What you believe about yourself
It all comes true
My life is a contradiction of sorrow and desire
I drag my heart across the ash to throw it on the fire
Maybe theres a reason and could there be a plan
Or are we all just fools to think well understand
Chorus:
And it all comes true yes it all comes true
Like a wheel inside a wheel it turns on you
And you think, what have I done? what can I do?
What you believe about yourself
It all comes true
And it all comes true yes it all comes true
Like a wheel inside a wheel it turns on you
And you think, what have I done? what can I do?
What you believe about yourself
It all comes true

The Big Wheel
Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
Well, I was only a kid -- didnt know enough to be afraid
Playing the game, but not the way the big boys played
Nothing to lose -- maybe I had something to trade
The way the big wheel spins
Well, I was only a kid, on a holy crusade
I placed no trust in a faith that was ready-made
Take no chances on paradise delayed
So I do a slow fade
Playing for time
Dont want to wait for heaven
Looking for love
For an angel to forgive my sins
Playing with fire
Chasing something new to believe in
Looking for love
The way the big wheel spins
Well, I was only a kid, cruising around in a trance
Prisoner of fate, victim of circumstance
I was lined up for glory, but the tickets sold out in advance
The way the big wheel spins
Well, I was only a kid, gone without a backward glance
Going for broke, going for another chance
Hoping for heaven -- hoping for a fine romance
If I do the right dance
Wheel goes round, landing on a twist of faith
Taking your chances youll have the right answers
When the final judgment begins
Wheel goes round, landing on a leap of fate
Life redirected in ways unexpected
Sometimes the odd number wins
The way the big wheel spins

Heart Like A Wheel
Calling up the promised land. johnny sevens coming over
The sea. hes taking your time. when you want to be free.
Holding out a helping hand. are you ready for a real
Career? will you be so cool. when its happening here?
It dont say nothing that I havent heard. if what I hear is
True. you wont keep the law with a broken word. so what
Are you going to do?
Heart like a wheel. turning away from anything thats real.
Heart like a wheel. changing in time. beating colder steel.
Pass the message around the world. the medium is in
Retreat. the power is here. and packing some heat.
Sell your soul to a holy war. set the captive free. we make
No promises anymore. but it isnt fooling me
Heart like a wheel. turning away from anything thats real.
Heart like a wheel. changing in time beating colder steel.
You cant keep the wheels turning anymore. with anger,
Blood and fear. or make any friends with an m16. when
You blast your way through here.
Heart like a wheel. turning away from anything thats real.
Heart like a wheel. changing in time beating colder steel.
Heart like a wheel. turning away from anything thats real.
Heart like a wheel. changing in time beating colder steel.
Heart like a wheel. turning away from anything thats real.
Heart like a wheel. driving the world is going to be a steal.

A Seduction: Stick-People Kissing
It was working late,
hours in that office together
the comfortableness;
the small talk
and the shared work.
You held my arm
to trace along the blackboard
the picture of the stick-people
we drew in the crowd.
So close.
You began to trace
two stick people
one kneeling
and the bubble over his head
said
'I love you.'
I said:
'What are you doing? '
You said: 'Don't talk to me
say it with the stick people.'
I drew my stick lady with a bubble
saying
'Are you talking to me? '
You drew and bubbled
'Must be, you the only
beautiful stick lady in this drawing.'
'Humm, ' I said,
need a little more than that.
Who's talking stick-man or you? '
'Of if you must know
stick-man is my wing-man
It is you
I love.'
I bubbled back
my stick-lady saying
'xxxx
hearts and kisses'
The next day in the conference room
on that blackboard
were two stick-people
arms wrapped around each other
kissing.

My Winding Wheel
(Original by Ryan Adams )
Well night time let her through
Yeah I am talking to you
I wanna see her
Precious little thing
with eyes that dance around without their clothes
So buy a pretty dress
Wear it out tonight
For anyone you think could out do me
Or better still, be my winding wheel
Cause I feel just like a map
Without a single place to go of interest
And I am further north than south
If I could shut my mouth she'd probably like this
So buy a pretty dress
And wear it out tonight
For all the boys you think could out do me
Or better still, be my winding wheel
Be my winding wheel
Well the children laugh and sing a song that ushers in her driving rain
And I am standing in the station like some old record waiting on a train
So buy a pretty dress
Wear it out tonight
For anyone you think could out do me
Or better still be my winding wheel
Be my winding wheel

Spin The Wheel
When I was young I thought I stood
On solid ground well that proved wrong
Everything I know was true
Just blew up in my face
Isnt life wonderful?
I really didnt think so
I took my chips and cashed them in
And let the games begin
Cause its easy
Its prefectly easy
To spin that wheel round
til you turn it all upside down
Its easy
Its perfectly easy
To let that wheel spin
til the numbers come back right to you
Now spin that wheel
Theres nothing to lose
Spin that wheel
Its waiting for you
Now spin that wheel
Let the wheel decide
Spin that wheel
Go along for the ride
Spin the wheel
You lose!
When I was young and set to move
I started looking forward to
The fun that disappeared so soon
I wanted to check out
Isnt life wonderful?
I didnt used to think so
I took my chips and cashed them in
And started up again
Now its easy
