Since You Are Too Human....

there are always choices
we are born to these oceans of choices
wave upon wave
we travel to choose
then we land and take feet
upon the sands
into the gardens
on rocks
and rivers
to the heavens we take the shape of clouds
and rain
for we have learned
this art to evolve

now tell me who owns us?
tell yourself that, we cannot hear you
you are too human
and earthbound
you are stuck on the chains of your
self-defined treasures
that finally bury all your bones

soon we shall turn back at you
dusts, all dusts that we blow and scatter
to all the rivers

if you remember leaves,
you shall remember us...

and so it will be that
i will give you the flesh that you love
and you shall live well
and i will keep the bones
those cranky ones that you set aside
and i will listen to the sounds
of old age
and i will keep what i have learned from
this experience
you are the geek
that keeps what splices of happiness is there
those that are temporary
and i am the outmoded that keeps
what i think shall last forever
but at the end
we are even
beyond these musings
and callings
along the roads of our choices
these patches and parches
we all shall turn into nothing
but dusts
and i shall take pride no more
of what i am and
what i had been
neither shall you whose name
must i have
also forgotten

Mountain Peak

We came together on the highest mountain on this earth.
As years went by we separated into rivers
from the tears this mountain cried.
We all fell into different rivers flowing though
forests, rocks, and waterfalls.
No matter what season we came across
we continued flowing.
We are rivers that started in the mountains,
and rivers that separated as we went through
many waterfalls.
Sometimes we travel together,
and other times we travel alone.
Always remember that these same rivers
that travel many miles through the earth
are once again together when it reaches its final destination
the “Ocean”
So, rivers that started up high in the mountains
and then separated are united
again as a family.

Dusts.................

i was once a worm
people look at me with anticipation
and then i became a fly
the good people did not swat me
and then i turn into
a donkey
oh, the children had fun
riding on my back
and then i turn into a
horse,
men love me,
and then i turn into
a man,
oh, the demands are too many
i have to read
the codes of humanity
ethics, philosophy
science, logic,
and then i become old
and turn into
a rotten flesh
where all the worms are
having fun eating me
and i remember joy
and freedom
and being not minded at all
deep in the dark
underground

back to worms, i sensed
that i am complete

and then i must turn to dust
and then
i have become
so perfect

in the solitude of my tiny strains
in the peace of
the grave
where we all started and then
must end.....dusts....dusts....

Skeleton Coast

Footmarks in the sand,
White bones across the land,
Your sea is wild,
Your sands barren of life,
Wind swept, a land in strife,

My soul desolate as your beach,
Heart and mind out of reach,
Loneliness my only companion,
Leaves me without desire,
A lone Seagull reaches higher,

Isolated from my brothers,
Are my bones to join the others,
Oh where to go, what to do?
Will my treasures sink into the sand?
Lost forever to your land?

Rejected, I leave you with your decision,
Choices made, in derision,
A glimpse you had of my riches,
What help if they will not hear?
The cost will be made clear,

On I walk in your sand,
Sadness reaches across the land,
Regret has no place, leaves a trace,
My destination is uncertain,
When will be the final curtain?

Sometimes I am amazed of the magic that is done

It all started with something insignificant
Like dust,
Sticking on a window pane, and I want it
Dusted off, it is dirt, it is unwanted,
And I do not even know what to do next
About such
Insignificance and feelings of simply
Trying to get rid of dust immediately,
But then, I begin to think about this
Dust, this me, this dust in me,
Some dusts on my feet, some dusts on
My forehead, and some dusts in my ears,
Some dusts in my eyes so obstructive
Of what I really am, and I know what to do next,
The bulb lighting in my head in a sudden,
I touch the dust,
I feel the dust with my fingers, and I am crazy enough
I taste the dust on my window pane,
And I shiver,
I am shaking to its taste, the taste of nothingness
If was from dust that I really come,
I now remember,
It will be to dust that I shall return,
I am now reminded,
And the dust that I used to see
As dirt, as something so insignificant, is now,
A magical patch, glistening, so filled with meaning,
I am nothing but dust; I am biting the dust,

I am very insignificant, in that window pane, at first.

The Country

i let you drive
as i sit calmly on the rear side of the car,
i do not wish to speak to you
as i watch the countryside
on a very hot summer

rice fields newly harvested
cracking chunks of soil, brown grass, stacks of hay,
trees with yellow leaves, smoke from the house chimneys,
patches of fog hanging on mountains

behind us on this road towards home
dusts, dusts, dusts.....

Choices

Choices
Are a form of grace
To have a choice
A voice,
is a privilege
Choices can
Change situations
The right choices
can uphold mankind
for thousands of generations
Choices
becomes personal declarations
A vow for one to live by
There shall always be
difficult choices to make
inorder to survive
Therefore,
Choose wisely today
For tomorrow
Shall surely come and
The choices of today could
Makes all future matters
well done!

Our Choices...

IF, only we are alone,
just you and me in this island,
IF, you only care for me
and I for you,
IF, there are no other
creatures, no other species,
no other person
distractions of this
love just between
us, pure bond, roots
and twigs, all of our
own leaves,
our skies and
shores,
our rivers and
mountains,

IF, and Only IF
this love could have been
but ours to share,

BUT my dear,
we live in this world of choices,
oceans of desires,
islands of partings,
we are crazy for change
and benefiting from
varieties,

AND so we decide,
which way to choose,
This of That

Do we drift away or
do we stick it out
like sugar solution?

sweet and sticky,

or charred and
bitter?

A Walk Down My Memory Lane

Remember...
The day we wed.
Remember...
How we snuggled in bed.
Remember...
Walking in the oceans' sand,
Remember...
I'm in a hostile land.
Remember...
The ring, you're first surprise.
Remember...
My happy, green eyes.
Remember...
How I used to smile.
Remember...
Its been a long trial.
Remember...
My devotion.
Remember...
All my emotion.
Remember...
Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Remember...
To be open and giving.
Remember...
Our old birch tree.
Remember...
Remember me!
Remember...
The hot tub bath.
Remember...
Walking on the forest path..
Remember...
Your wedding gown.
Remember...
The love we found.
Remember...
When the war has passed.
Remember...
Our love will forever last.

One of the most important things that I have learned in my 57 years is that life is all about choices. On every journey you take, you face choices. At every fork in the road, you make a choice. And it is those decisions that shape our lives.

Only If God Says Yes

Choices that we make in life
May take us far
Chances that we take tonight
May lead us into darken places
But at the end of Godly choices
Are higher dreams
But in the game of chance
Theres only a guilty wave or stream
Sometimes I don't know which road I should take
Sometimes I don't know which move I should make
But it's only if God says yes
I'll make my move
And it's only if God says yes
Then I will choose
For it's only if God would just
Bow his head
Then I will do it
Thats what I will do
I started down the right road
Only to end up wrong
The endless journey carried me so far away
From my home and family
But I'm learning I was never meant to go alone
Neither was it meant for me to go on my own no
Sometimes I don't know which road I should take
Sometimes I don't know which move I should make
I'll never go on my own
I'll never go all alone
Sometimes I don't know which road I should take
Sometimes I don't know which move I should make
But it's only if God says yes
I'll make my move
For it's only if God says yes
Then I will choose
For it's only if God would just answer me
And it's only if God would just hear my plead
And it's only if God would just bow his head
Then I will do it
That's what I will do
That's what I will do

Is It Then Yours?

do you hear me?
or am i throwing rocks
in a bottomless well?
must we wait on the wave,
that's long past due?
will the candle then light itself?
do trees remember leaves?
does history have a face?
is it then yours?

Of Tigers And Rivers

you speak of tigers
and you define it not of its colors or shape or form
but of its shadow
this tiger that lies soundlessly between the
wedges of words
inside the indolence of some syllables
at first i am confused
that this tiger may come to form with sharp
razor teeth and then with new feet jump before me
to devour me
but you assured me, diligently in all the books of your
library, filled with dusts and silence, that this will never happen,
i waited for quite long,
there is this sound of a burst of a gun,
some drops of blood dripping from the ceiling,
i am looking for the scene, the Act, and the characters,
of the play that you have not finished writing,
there is the endless space spreading before me
the rivers flow
from my mouth, and i am carried away, to your glimpse
of eternity.
i am afraid, that your tiger is dead.
i suspect, that the rivers too dried.
i hope for more words, i am tired
the same thing happens in the history of men
promises are made to be broken
tigers are shadowy beasts that exist only in the minds
and rivers seemingly flow like all tomorrows
eternal, they never stop
they never end. Like air.

Negro Speaks of Rivers

I've known rivers:
I've known rivers ancient as the world and older than the
flow of human blood in human veins

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

I bathed in the Euphrates when dawns were young
I built my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep.
I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it.
I heard the singing of the Mississippi when Abe Lincoln
went down to New Orleans, and I've seen its muddy
bosom turn all golden in the sunset

I've known rivers:
Ancient, dusky rivers.

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

I Believe So...

does the wind choose to blow?
do rivers choose to run?
does your heart choose to beat?
i believe so...

does the earth choose to turn,
in perfect rhythm, year by year?
do the tides choose to come and go,
in cadence with the moon?
i believe so...

does society choose to be oppressed,
if only by apathy's inaction?
do we choose to let people starve
when we turn the other head?
i believe so...

do we choose war over peace,
to feed the need of greed?
do we choose to destroy nature
by our very lifestyles?
i believe so....

but can we change destiny,
and avert the final blow?
can we open our minds and hearts,
and reclaim life for the living?
i believe so...

The Dividing Line

There has always been a dividing line
But you choose, you choose, yes you choose not to see it
And then you wonder why you fall
It cuts through the heart of every city
If you climb to the top of the highest building
You can see where it falls cause the streetlights stop
The colours start to change
You hear a voice inside you
Not the words that you wanted to hear
Not the things that you wanted to see hey, hey, hey, hey
In the comfort and safety of your own home
Remember those outside in the cold
And the wind and the rain
And take in your hands a little ray of light
And turn it into a beam that pierces the darkness of the night
There has always been a dividing line
But you choose, you choose, yes you choose not to see it
Sometimes we believe if we close our eyes
The rain might wash it away
Thats why we stumble and we fall
Not the words that you wanted to hear
Not the things that you wanted to see hey, hey, hey, hey
When everything that you hold dear to you
Has finally faded away from your life
The last cold ray of sunshine slowly disappears
Round the corner of the building
And leaves you alone
When darkness covers the city and the streets are silent too
What will you turn to...

Notions

Many of us state the notions of presence,
Mighty rivers flow and dive into the abyss;
Kicking me in the leg and then arms fly
For the might of rivers is high and mighty.
Let the years roll on like the seas and rivers,
Jumping along the bed of oceans,
Lulling the fight of the whirlpools.
Open a door to the heavens once they cascade,
Let the door be of love and mighty rivers justify
Our fight for survival,
For survival is the better goal for one’s trust.

Ill Rememberme From With Honors

Mmmm, mmmm
Say good-bye to not knowing when
The truth in my whole life began
Say good-bye to not knowing how to cry
You taught me that
Chorus (first time substitute strength for love and saved for changed):
And Ill remember the love that you gave me
Now that Im standing on my own
Ill remember the way that you changed me
Ill remember
Inside I was a child
That could not mend a broken wing
Outside I looked for a way
To teach my heart to sing
(chorus)
I learned to let go of the illusion that we can possess
I learned to let go, I travel in stillness
And Ill remember happiness
Ill remember [Ill remember]
Mmmmm... [Ill remember]
Mmmmm...
(chorus)
[Ill remember]
No Ive never been afraid to cry
Now I finally have a reason why
Ill remember [Ill remember]
(repeat 3 times, substituting and for now the second and third times)
