Carrion's Redolent Ululations

Beneath the wings of the ravine condor
Perched upon my dislocated shoulders
And in the scraping of its scaled talon
I found myself a lackluster prey
Already devoured by drifting webs
Of the starlight's tale; a carrion
Putrefied in believing and unbelieving
And submitting only to an immolation

Sating verve in embedding roots
In the lost fathoms of a parliament
Digressing the fear that hones a man
Into what a lion would have become
Perhaps, averting deaths in cognizant places
And taking leisure upon cheap ryes
Spewed to sedate the thorough wile

Have I made a shack, shabby or not,
In this derided chance of slipping away?
With the died-out leaves of summer breeze
Have I made enough drivels to ignite
And char myself again in the gravels?

As the clock never swallows itself
And the sun never sleeps with its eyes
How do I subsist this hunger game?
When time would reach the dock
And the ships sail its oars to different currents
Is it suffice that I have been present?
Would that compensate the lack of life?

As I avert the eyes of the scavenger
Have I defeated the malingerer?
Should I nourish the famished land
Buried beneath the taut and thinning ice?

Ephemeral as everything goes
How do I learn to satisfy
And molt wings apt to circumnavigate
The same plane where you linger?

Brings love to life

The Spore And The Condor

Said Spunky Spore, “We germ cells are busy making plants
So that as you fly over, Casual Condor you see flowers dance.
Though we’re very tiny, you’ll find it’s true
By joining with other spores we can form something new.”

“Well Spunky Spore, ” replied Casual Condor, “You impressed me.
As I soar it sounds like you’re in almost everything that I see.”
“How right you are! ” exclaimed the proud Spunky Spore,
“We’re in everything there is and we’re busy making more.”

The poor condor now wasn’t so casual as he started to cry.
Spunky Spore asked, “Sir, you’re crying, please tell me why.”
The sad condor wiped his eyes and said, “I need help from you.
Please make more of us or we’ll be extinct and gone from view.”

Spunky Spore is joining with his friends to see what they can do,
But for a while Casual Condor and his family will be just a few.
If humans care enough to protect this wonderful team,
Then the tragedy of extinction won’t again arrive at this extreme.

Drifting Away

(orbison/dees)
Sadness slips into the room
On silent steps of sorrow
Stealing sleep and all my dreams
Where will we be tomorrow?
Lying with you, crying with you, drifting
Talking till dawn yet we go on, drifting
Dont understand where we began just drifting apart
Drifting apart feeling alone drifting away
We cant seem to work it out
Drifting from day to day
Wasnt it all about, drifting away
Drifting away, drifting away
Losing the feeling
And now the music of the song is almost gone
That we used to play
From sweet surrender from drifting away, drifting
Two lovers lost two rivers crossed, drifting
Two bridges burned, no lesson learned, drifting
Lonely together, hurting each other
Still we cant say that its over
Can we bring back yesterday?
Will we be forever, forever drifting away
Drifting, drifting away

Drifting

Drifting, drifting, drifting away.
I got myself a mansion, then I gave it away.
It's not the world that's heavy, just the things that you save.
And I'm drifting, drifting away.
Drifting, drifting, drifting along.
I rid myself of worries, and the worries were gone.
I only run when I want to and I sleep like a dog.
I'm just drifting, drifting along.
The suitcoats say, "There is money to be made."
They get so damn excited, but I guess it's their way.
My road it may be lonely just because it's not paved.
It's good for drifting, drifting away.
The suitcoats say, "There is money to be made."
They get so damn excited, nothing gets in their way
My road it may be lonely just because it's not paved.
It's good for drifting, drifting away.
Drifting, drifting, drifting, uh huh.
I feel like going back there, but never for long.
I sometimes wonder if they know that I'm gone.
I'm just drifting, drifting along.
Drifting, drifting along. Drifting, drifting along.
Merry Christmas...

What We've Clinged To.... (Only Straw)

this body, made of straw,
now empty, blown by the wind.
leaving only the faint scent of eggs,
the echoed imprint of wings.
no more, and no less,
than the branch, than the tree,
than the memory of sunlight,
and the haunt of rain.
freedom sheds its bark,
god is buried beneath leaves...
perhaps only snow can transform.
only voices linger,
nay it be not names!
while squirrels devour the nuts
of a thousand passions!
nests be not wings, nor beak or talon...
what we've clinged to is only straw!

Ancient Romeo

In the tattoo valley of dreams,
I find her dark eyes shining
Into my soul.
How many times can I say
The word love
Until my desire bleeds
Into the amorous universe?

I’m the ancient Romeo
Sauntering sweetly beneath the moon
Digging her shoulders
In the starlight.

Drifters

there is no motive here
it is just like flying not even for the love of air

i have no wish for wings
neither do i have a feather

i fly on the invisible wings of my thoughts
drifting for the sake of nothing but just drifting

because i am drifting and i do not stop it
it could be that it is locating a drift

a shore of the winds, an island of gusts,
it is following a river of memories

memories are drifters too
and so are all the rest of these hanging wishes

uncertainties like molecules making a room for
their unseen randomness, the chaos that we never see

because we are attuned to order
to the stillness of wood and panel

picture a bowl of fruits
the mind has painted.

Starbright

Starligt starbright O I've wished on you many nights
Starlight starbright you always make it right
I can't remember life before you, my star
Tomorrow I won't remember the desperation
I always lose the fight starlight
The first star I see tonight
I need you one more night
Starlight starlight starbright
I need that wish tonight
In the day I'm not so tempted, my star
I even think I'm strong, but darkness falls upon me
All resistance is gone
Starlight starbright O starlight
Can I just use you one more night
You make everything feel right starlight
I wish I may, I wish I might
I wish I didn't need you
Starlight my star.

Starlight

(m&l - weikath/hansen)
Youre hangin around and got nothing to do
You wanna get out some pills in front of you
You fly on invisible wings
Be careful my friend for too many can kill
You say thats the meaning of lifes those pills
You forget all eathly things
You swallow your pill you wanna feel free
A trip to a world made of games
You do it again yet itps never the same
But a junkies not something to be
Starlight fallin deep through your eyes
Starlight shinin down for your soul to arise
Now theres a needle lying in front of you
Im frighten of those things
But I know what youll do
You neet to scape from the night, ha ha
You ride on through heaven you dont feel the pain
You ride on and reide on again and again
On the needle that brins you the light
You feel the mind-blowin stuff
Flow through your veins
You take off and fly to the sun
But when you get too near your wings will be burnt
Youll die in the flames and youll fall
Starlight fallin deep through your eyes
Starlight shinin down for your soul to arise
Starlight fallin deep through your eyes
Starlight shinin down for your soul to arise

Elegy On The Garden Flat

Spiders like you've never eaten,
born in the night, in out of the rain.

That's the inevitable souvenir
of a year spent hunched beneath
new webs, spent stiffening shoulders
at the minute threshold of a tense cavity
- the freshly acquired taste for arachnids.

(A moment's silence
as we remember the day
we flushed the wiped-up trails away.)

We never found out where they came in
or, indeed, where they went out. And if.
You swore you heard crunching in the carpet.

*

Leaves died, and after them, the trees. And
when the rain came, the autumnal drains
would drown at our doorstep. Nature had
a habit of being intimate, to the extent of
being intrusive.

And as for the garden flat -
each saturated twist of leg
and grounded wet wing
would go there to die.

Drifting Too Far

Out on the perilous deep,
Where danger silently creeps,
And storm's so violently sweeping,
You're drifting too far from shore.
Chorus:
Drifting too far from shore,
You're drifting too far from shore,
Come to Jesus today,
Let Him show you the way
You're drifting too far from shore.
Today, the Tempest rose high,
And clouds o'er shadow the sky.
Sure death is hovering neigh,
You're drifting too far from shore.
Drifting too far from shore,
You're drifting too far from shore,
Come to Jesus today,
Let Him show you the way
You're drifting too far from shore.
Why meet a terrible fate?
Mercies abundantly wait.
Turn back before it's too late
You're drifting too far from shore.
Drifting too far from shore
You're drifting too far from shore (peaceful shore)
Come to Jesus today. Let him show you the way
You're drifting too far from shore...

Drifting

I'm drifting I'm drifting
In a sea far away
Begging and pleading
Come save me today
I bob up and down
In the ocean I made
Come rescue me now
For I start to fade
I'm drifting I'm drifting
In an ocean of fears
Choking and gagging
On my fallen tears
Waves crest my head
And I struggle to breathe
As my life slips away
In a circing wreathe
I'm drifting I'm drifting
Far from the shore
Just wishing that I
Would pass through the door
And into a place
Where my drifting is done
And fing peace at last
'Neath a warm glowing sun

Sky Of Heaven

My wing like shoulders were devoted to a knowledge of collection,
Tender and holy, the flight made contact with proper manufacture;
Ladies denied the tactics of the sisters, pounds of money offered
The men with wings but nobody felt satisfied with dollars.

The current prize shouted for horror assessing the honour,
This honourable person of religion flew higher than a bird of prey;
The people swayed in flight as the shoulders of a wing like nature
Welcomed courage to the air, bravery was full to the brim.

They are not books or religion entirely,
But they fly and levitate like no other person flies
Or rises into the collapsed sky of heaven.

Broken Butterfly Wings

A vision once appeared through midnight
A cold breeze dance at silent despair
Broken Wings my heart was pierced
Into no remedy I've fallen

Next to your shoulders where I've cried
Resting on bare skin to remind
The chants for the remaining butterfly
Hidden deep beneath my burden

Kept inside that scars the beauty
Releasing its colorful calamity
Of the Broken butterfly wings
To restore my world back again

Surrender Paradise

Tropical breeze caressing me, sweet fragrant air enticing me
Starlight skies are offering their love to me
I surrender to you, paradise
Heaven and earth are becoming as one shining light on their world
Open your heart, spread your wings, take a chance for the flight of your life.
Warm summer nights, the twinkling of stars
Gardenia blooms, whispering love
Moonlight playing up and down a drifting waterfall
I surrender to you, paradise
Crystal blue sea, white sandy beach
Sunset commands a rainbow array
All the birds in wonderland are singing perfect harmony
I surrender to you, paradise
Heaven and earth are becoming as one shining light on their world
Open your heart, spread your wings, take a chance for the flight of your life.
Secrets of love are lurking beyond
Rapture me now, your passion is mine
Sun-kissed waves are frolicking along the familiar shore
I surrender to you, paradise
Butterflies are fluttering atop a stream
I surrender to you, paradise
Moonlight playing up and down a drifting waterfall
I surrender to you paradise
I surrender, my love
When you want me, you need me, Ill always be here
Giving my love to you, paradise

Wisdom

Wisdom
Looms, tempered
Like a daylily blooms
In bars of iron sleep
Wisdom wakes
Like a ravenous lion.
With ears of golden wheat
Folded yet; into another sleep.
Wisdom roars and rolls, out
His paws his talon claws
He lifts up his prey
Just to snarl'
What did you taste?
Here on the air today!

Above The Wide Brown Country

Above the wide brown country in the gray evening sky
A black shouldered kite out hunting he hover as he fly
With quivering wings it hover suspended there in space
Scanning the ground for small prey it hangs in the one place.

And then it flies a little and the same pattern repeat
And scans around with it's microscopic like eyes for mouse or frog to eat
All in the depths of Winter it hunts for smaller prey
But most little creatures under cover on a chilly Winter day.

With black bands on it's wings and shoulders and mostly gray to white
The reason for it's common name of the black shouldered kite
In the weakening light of evening it is hunting out late
And may have to go to it's roost hungry as the clock on none does wait.

Above the wide brown country at a quarter after four
In the fading lamp of evening just an hour of light or a little more
Left for it for to make a kill and to ease it's appetite
And it may have to go to roost quite hungry for to spend a hungry night.

Driftin

(by charles brown, johnny moore and eddie williams)
Im drifting and drifting, just like a ship out on the sea.
Im drifting and drifting, just like a ship out on the sea.
Well I aint got nobody in this world to care for me.
If my baby would only take me back again.
If my baby would only take me back again.
I would feel much better, darling, and at least Id have a friend.
I give you all my money, tell me what more can I do.
I give you all my money, tell me what more can I do.
You is a sweet little girl but I swear you wont be true.
Im drifting and drifting, just like a ship out on the sea.
Im drifting and drifting, just like a ship out on the sea.
Because I aint got nobody in this world to care for me.
