Snakes and Ladders
It's really amazing that some relatives
They offer you the hand to bring up when you are in trouble.
But when you climb the steps gradually
They pull the ladder secretly.
* Be watchful my dear son on your walks
As there are some snakes under the grass.
[ Still I remember my deceased loving mother who whispers this phrase when she put us on the bed.]

She Walks Her Talk
Ruth is a nice woman
she does not climb the ladder
the ladder climbs for her
i remember how the ladder puts
her feet on the step
and the ladder keeps on carrying
her to the top
so that she can see what is wrong
with the plain
and she does what she is supposed to
do
trimming the stars
dimming the heavens sometimes
to create the ambiance of
an accommodation
she does what the gods tell her to do
down to the last detail
sacrificing sometimes what she thinks
is right from her own human perception
the trees love her
and so do the sand and grass
i am telling you i love the woman
you know it well
she walks her talk.

The Ladder
Once upon a time in the land of sinaplenty
There lived a king who didnt deserve 2 be
He knew not where he came from
Nor where he was going
He never once said thank u, never please
Now this king he had a subject named electra
Who loved him with a passion, uncontested
4 him each day she had a smile
But it didnt matter
The king was looking 4 the ladder
Everybodys looking 4 the ladder
Everybody wants salvation of the soul
The steps u take are no easy road
But the reward is great
4 those who want 2 go
A feeling of self-worth (everybodys looking)
Will caress u (for the answers)
The size of the whole wide world will decrease (how the story started)
(and how it will end)
The love of gods creation will undress u
And time spent alone my friend, will cease
Everybodys looking 4 the answers
How the story started and how it will end
Whats the use in half a story, half a dream
U have 2 climb all of the steps in between (yeah, we ride)
Everybodys looking 4 the ladder
Everybody wants salvation of the soul
The steps u take are no easy road (the steps you take are no easy road)
(its not that easy)
But the reward is great
4 those who want 2 go (I do)
Everybody... everybodys looking (everybodys looking 4 the answers)
For the answers
Everybody wants to know how the story (how the story started)
Started and how it will end (started and how it will end)
Whats the use in half a story, (whats the use in half a story)
Half a dream (half of a dream)
U, u gotta climb, u gotta climb (u have 2 climb all)
All of the steps in between (the steps in between)
Everybody,
Everybodys looking 4 that ladder (everybodys looking 4 the ladder)
Everybody wants salvation of the soul (everybody wants salvation of the soul)
(salvation)
The steps u take are no easy road (the steps you take are no easy road)
(thats for sure)
But the reward is great (the reward is great)
4 those who want 2 go, (4 those who want 2 go)
Those who want 2 go
Everybody... everybody wants (everybodys looking 4 the answers)
An answer
Anyone who know how the story (how the story started)
Started, how it will end (started and how it will end)
Will it be lonely in the world (whats the use in half a story)
Whats the use? (half of a dream)
(have 2 climb all)
(the steps in between)

The unvarnished commoner's untold truth
He born to a helpless needy family
Anyway his parents bring him to a certain extent with a great difficulty.
He finds a part-time job and draws a lump sum earning
And later on he gets a devoted partner,
Hand in hand they walk onwards with their offspring
And in their dark shelter they breathe like others quietly.
He never studied politics but a handsome politician gives him a promise and takes his finger prints for a fairyland.
This off color skeletal innocent never sees a fairground until he reaches his nameless tomb.

Toss and Grab 1,
Kept you under the wings,
for you to grow warmer,
kept away those strangers,
for you to grow stronger,
picked those worms,
for you to grow smarter,
opened these two wings,
for you to grow wiser.
This world belongs to you,
my dear children,
You have every right to explore,
my dear children,
There may be petty problems,
on the way, children!
smash those issues,
my dear children.
Make mistakes, that,
not affect your health,
my dear children,
Take decisions, that,
not affect your integrity,
my dear children.
Be kind to your subordinates,
my dear children,
they are the ladder,
for you to climb up,
my dear children.
Get wiser day by day,
my dear children,
Speculation is not a plays,
my dear children,
you will bring corn,
my dear children,
They will bring husk,
my dear children.
When blow and share,
my dear children,
You will lose my dear children.
When there is a sale,
the market is quiet
enter to trade,
my dear children.
When there is a crowd,
everyone talks for million,
sell your share and run away,
my dear children.

Prince Of Orange
Look at these hands
Spokes of the sun God delay you, spray you
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
Brass robinettes
Trumpet and drums for the taking, baking
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
All the food he steals is all right
Far the tall and gentle poplar
Causing fanfare to those listening
Now
Drape round your head
Mischief and secrets in green kelt, all hell
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
Look at these lands (--- --- ---)
Youll get no books for your dinner
Sinner
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die

the hand i offer,
the hand of peace.
the caring hand,
the giving hand,
the get dirty hand,
the pull you up hand,
the work with you hand,

Snakes In The Grass
Snakes in the grass
sliding and slithering
furtively so slow,
can attack so quickly
but at least you know.
The real snakes in the grass
sidling and creeping
slowly so you won't see,
approach from out of nowhere
lest they be
noticed at all.
They watch the fall
then slither away
and take it all,
your peace, your harmony,
your way of existing
as they are co-existing
right in your sight.
These are the snakes
that speak with forked tongue
to our innocent ones, oh so young.
They coerce them like the
serpent in Eden.
So our youth
can't ever stop the bleedin'.
For snakes in the grass
are leading the way
with everything false
into moral decay.
How do we stop these
snakes in the grass?
They've been around
since time's begun.
We must turn a deaf ear
to every last one.

Near Him
One man sits in the room opposite.
Another man climbs his ladder for the sport.
A dangerous man enters for the sake of deadly trouble.
A man and woman go hand in hand
Yet trouble looms as they dive under the ladder.
The man in the room opposite is a tall man
Who hates their luck, and wanders to and fro
Like a policeman, but he is not.
I am a man who is child, and I don’t want this activity
So I shout out loud, “WHY DO YOU LIVE? ”

My Mother's Day
My Mother’s Day
(To Doris C. Mellers)
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, Sunday, May 9,2010 @ 4: 35 PM
I can remember back in the day
Being a youth back in Buff Bay
Our clothing you always made
School fee was always paid
Relatives never treating you good
Somehow vigilant you stood
Bearing you always with malice
Tearing down the walls of your palace
I remember growing up with a penny
Love and care we never lacked any
Our garments she would always darn
Amazing things she would make from yarn
My mother would bring me my lunch everyday
That’s my Mom for she is just that way
She’d chase the monsters from under my bed
She made sure her family was always fed
No words that could ever convey
The deepest love I have for her everyday
Above her I would never put anyone
She is brighter than the morning sun
She is the very source of my strength and power
Above all others she’ll always tower
She believes in me like no other
I love you for you are my mother

You can't climb up to the second floor without a ladder. When you set your aim too high and don't fulfill it, then your enthusiasm turns to bitterness. Try for a goal that's reasonable, and then gradually raise it.

My Steps Are Steady
Above the bustle of the valley,
Above the bustle of the valley
Comfortable and secure
---in our joy one with the other
I have no want to climb the steep ladder
---to the hustle down under
To the hustle down under,
What if I should lose my balance
---and will they accept
---what we have to offer?
Will they accept
---what we have to offer?
You load me with a woven basket
---heavy with the fruits
---of our marriage
Heavy with the fruits
---of our marriage
You lead me through the threshold
---with my eyes open
With my eyes open
---to the perils of the downward climb
I am to descend not backward but forward
---in full view of the chaos below
In full view of the chaos below.
You and I bless our offerings
---and I overcome the limitations
---of our fruitfull union
I hold freely our prodigy,
My steps are steady
My steps are steady
Fear dissolves in the joy of love
Fear dissolves in the joy of love
We and they unite as one
We and they unite as one.

Dear Grandma
Dear Grandma, I remember
When you were there for me
Dear Grandma, I remember
Your smile was a joy to see
Dear Grandma, I remember
The wonderful dinners I had
I remember how you cared
You dried my tears when I was sad
Dear Grandma, I remember
All the wonderful things you gave
You would let us play around
You would always be there to wave
Dear Grandma, I remember
All your loving care
Helping when I was sick
You were always there
Dear Grandma, I remember
That you are there for me yet
Always a comfort to me
Dear Grandma, I wont forget
When you wake tomorrow
I will give you a poem when you wake tomorrow.
It will be a peaceful poem.
It won’t make you sad.
It won’t make you miserable.
It will simply be a poem to give you
When you wake tomorrow.
It was not written by myself alone.
I cannot lay claim to it.
I found it in your body.
In your smile I found it.
Will you recognise it?
You will find it under your pillow.
When you open the cupboard it will be there.
You will blink in astonishment,
Shout out, ‘How it trembles!
Its nakedness is startling! How fresh it tastes!’
We will have it for breakfast;
On a table lit by loving,
At a place reserved for wonder.
We will give the world a kissing open
When we wake tomorrow.
We will offer it to the sad landlord out on the balcony.
To the dreamers at the window.
To the hand waving for no particular reason
We will offer it.
An amazing and most remarkable thing,
We will offer it to the whole human race
Which walks in us
When we wake tomorrow.

One Step...
Ladder of success you would climb
To reach destiny of your desired goal.
No obstacle can stop you if
Steps taken with well vision.
One step of confidence
One step of inspiration
One step of determination
One step of hope
One step of sincerity
One step of courage
One step of hard work
Ladder of success you would climb
To reach destiny of your desired goal.
No obstacle can stop you if
Steps taken with well vision.

Mother Earth's Lullaby
My son will be a polite king in the near future,
A farthest poor country.
I am sure that you donate all the horses
To a zoo and travel in a public bus.
You leave the palace for home for the elders
And reside in a rented house.
You pawn your crown
And spend the wealth for the needy men.
Soon when other kings propose their daughters
Definitely you say ' I am sorry '.
And you choose an innocent farm lassie as your partner.
She gives you precious children and whatever you want.
And you never think of a harem.
You live the entire life in harmony.
One day you become old like others.
You catch illness as mild influenza
And it may leads to fatal.
Not to worry my son!
I keep you a place in my bosom
And sing this lullaby until you rest in peace.
* Dedication to my deceased loving mother Esme. My heart still laments for my
dearest poor mom! . You taught me to recite thousands of lullabies in your melancholy voice. ' A poet lives in every individual but some they do not aware'. I remember that you have written this phrase somewhere a long time ago.The only fault I see in your heart is the unlimited love. You gave me the hope to walk on this gravel road..........thank you very much Mom! I cry secretly thinking of you.
Please show me the way and advise me,
Where I have to start & finish this journey? I feel always that you are beside me. Mom! I am sorry, as I am helpless now.

Ladder To The Sun
From the very start
Came Earth parted
Broke up into pieces and
I was sure I could have missed it
It could risked it
But I put myself into your hands
Cause you're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
You're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
I can run my courses
Opposing forces
Then I...
If you want me you can have me
Oh take me, oh baby grab me
Cause if you want me then you can have me
Cause you're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
You're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
you cannot run
I had it all and I risked it
I had it all and I risked it all
And I risked it all
And I risked it all
A ladder to the
A Ladder to the sun
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
And I risked it all
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
And I risked it all
I risked it all
I had it all
I risked it all
A ladder to the sun

Do You Remember When
do you remember when
you have stepped your first step towards life
and when you first screamed
comı ng face to face with it
when you had your first beloved
do you remember
when you had seen the first blues of the seas
when first swam in the sea
do you remember
when you f irst saw the storks on chimneys
and the young black beaks
and when you worrı ed for their eggs
not to be frozen in winter
do you remember the day
you lost your father
and your relatives and friends
do you remember
the first blooming red roses
and their thorns
when you heard a nightingale
sing the last time
art dawns
do you remember your last gambling
in lousy clubs
do you remember
your first hair cut alone
in a barber- shop
do you remeber your first
as a grown up man
and your first scold as a woman
do you remember
the day you lost your mother
in KORAN it says
HEAVEN LIES UNDER the FEET OF THE MOTHERS
mother..mother...mother
do you remember me
do you hear me
forgive me..forgive me..forgive me

Cambium will cheat one day
the pace of climb,
snakes will dance
peeling off the skin –
the urgency of moon
to take away the body of victim
from sunscape.
You thrive on a window
switching off the sky.
A quaint reptile walks on the moon.
The medium sits on a black stone
and the mob
burns the house of a lord
Sarracenia, your lip is too large.
for a kiss of death. I am coming down the steps
to drink the acid

The Autumn of Metaphors
The ladder leans on our wall
we clamber rather than fall
as snakes to the pit
we flit
from dark to lighter
shadow fighters
springing from rung to sprung
until the autumn of our metaphors
The ladder needs our wall
or it could not point vaguely
skywards
its resistance to crawl
makes the arms stronger
to ward off longer
melancholy
To walk under the metaphor
invites what for
absolute beginners
could be the hell
of the physical
Better climb the eternal
stairway to leaven
our daily bread

A Mother's Day Prayer
Dear Lord
My mother died
so lonely
Grant her
eternal happiness
Dear Lord
May their mothers
be happier than my mother
May their fathers love their mothers true
May they as children love their mother now
than remember loving them more
when they are all gone and dead.
