Mariposa

On her slim back of the neck a tattoo is about to flee
And that's my favorite blue butterfly.
A strange woman never seen her before,
She crossed the road and walked towards the park.
That was few years ago and I never met her again.
But in my lonely heart the strange blue butterfly flies in an off season.
I crossed the road and walked towards the park.

* When the feet are planted in the dirt mind is ready to bloom.

Tall Bamboos

A long red vine through the boards it weaves
The fence is not quite straight
Rain dripped from all the bright green leaves
Blue Tit sitting on the back gate

A butterfly struggles through the air
And lands right no my nose
With crossed eye’s I now stare
At the message it bestows

To a butterfly do I look like a plant?
From the moon I would look like an ant
It‘s hard to place myself in butterfly’s shoes
You think it would prefer nice tall bamboos

I shake my head and it flies away
The sun peeks out from behind a cloud
Let out a sigh what a wonderful day
You know I am feeling quite endowed

And then there were none

There were ten
Waiting by the road
Ready for a journey
Of an entire lifetime

The ten crossed the lake,
But the tenth was too scared
He left the others to their fates
And departed with some joy.

And then there were nine
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime

The nine walked over a bridge
But the ninth saw a beauty
Pursued her, leaving the rest
And sealed his own fate

And then there were eight
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

As they walked by the gorge,
The eighth saw a tree
Laden with fruits. Hunger
Consumed his life away

And then there were seven
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

As they walked by the mountain
Cold consumed their hearts.
The seventh saw a route
To escape from the way.

And then there were six
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

The trail went on and on
Never showed a sign of ending
The sixth lost all hope
And left the party, disgruntled.

And then there were five
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

As they walked by the desert
Their throats parched
The fifth simply
Lost the will to carry on.

And then there were four
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

They walked by the river..
And the fourth saw
His family dead. Grief
Caused him to kill himself.

And then there were three
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

They walked into the cave
And the third saw gold.
Left the journey and
Retired to a new world.

And then there were two
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

They walked by the plain
Feet overcome with pain
They began to hate the other
And the second lay dead.

And then there was one
Walking by the road,
Engrossed in the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

He struggled to reach the box
His left hand stretched
But at the moment of glory
His wounds killed him.

And then there were none.
Walking by the road,
Consumed by the journey
Of an entire lifetime.

Only myself in a crowded street

Only myself walking down the crowded street,
Everyone around me like statues in a park.
Here’s a car waiting to turn,
There’s an old man feeding the birds.

I can picture what there doing,
But their only paused.
As though the video is stopped,
They just stand there waiting for it to play.

This strange new world where all time has stopped,
Why have I been brought to this odd dimension?
Only I can move back and forth,
Only I can reach out and feel their stone cold hands.

Many questions left unanswered,
And no one there to ask.
Desperately I search,
For any sign of life.

Then strangely I see,
A little insect fly.
As though in this despair,
There is something there besides myself.

I follow the butterfly,
As though it is my one last hope.
It lands on a head,
Of one of these statue-like beings.

And suddenly they start moving,
As though given life.
The little flying insect,
Skips from one to another.

Each and every one that the butterfly touches,
Starts moving in their step.
Each action that I pictured,
Becomes real before my eyes.

Then the little butterfly flies,
Back into the sky.
Never to be seen again,
Or so I thought that day.

Then after years gone by,
And I turned old and fragile.
Laying in my bed,
Looking up into the sky.

I saw the little butterfly,
Fly down to where I lay.
Landed by my ear,
And softly spoke to me.

“It is time for you to leave, ”
Said the little butterfly.
“I’ll bring you to a place,
That will give you life once more.”

Then the little butterfly,
Flew onto my forehead.
And flew off to another stone planet,
Leaving my body statue-like.

Road To Nowhere

(kane/ecton)
Goodbye, lonely heartache,
Farewell, bitter tears.
Im leaving forever,
And not just for years.
Youre home again, darling,
And I love you so.
But you love another,
Thats why I must go.
Down the road to nowhere,
Ill wander my lonely days through.
Down the road to nowhere,
Im nowhere at all without you.
Our favorite places
That made moments fly
Just cant be forgotten,
But still I must try.
The dance where I met you
When you walked my way,
I cry when I pass them
So Ill drift away.
Down the road to nowhere,
Ill wander my lonely days through.
Down the road to nowhere,
Im nowhere at all without you...
Im nowhere at all without you...
Im nowhere at all without you.

Butterfly...

Butterfly...my all..my own, Butterfly

My butterfly, I remember the
day we met. You bumped into me.
Well, sort of floated, from no where,
and from that moment, I recall what
I said, 'Well, my little butterfly,
where did you come from.?

Butterfly, you laughed, and responded,
'I picked you out, and just floated down,
and landed on your shoulder.

Butterfly, there are many that think
that a Butterfly, can't laugh, but you did.

They think that a Butterfly, does not cry,
but you have.

Can a Butterfly be happy, cause happiness?
Butterfly, of mine...you did.

Can a Butterfly, caused one to nearly burst
with joy? Butterfly, you did and you have.

Butterfly, there is not a moment, since I
met you, that I can not recall.

Some might wonder what a butterfly, drinks.
Butterfly, shall we let them know, we became
intoxicated, as we sipped the nectar of life.

As my butterfly and I floated through the
wonders of earth, I wish we could share the
joy we found, with all of this planet.

Butterfly, shall we always be together?
Butterfly, I do not mean, just here on
earth, I mean until the stars stop shinning.
Butterfly, I mean, until there is no moon...
no anything, but my Butterfly and I.

Butterfly...I think that we will. Butterfly,
I believe that we were meant to be.

Butterfly

You should know that my smile was leading to this
It's all in this letter
Strange how your wings ache like a son of a bitch
Just when you're, just when you're finally better
(fly away)
Butterfly
Someone like you just better watch where you step
People have been known to bleed
See how my words read like a kick in the head
Sometimes that's just what you need
(fly away)
Butterfly
Butterfly
Fly away my butterfly
Fly away
Fly away my butterfly
Fly away
Don't you know that my smile was misleading
I have outgrown my cocoon
By the time taht you read what you're reading
I will have flown to the moon
Fly away my butterfly
Fly away
Fly away my butterfly
Fly away...
You should know that my smile was leading to this

Blue Butterfly

blue butterfly
so blue fluttering alone
hovering on my yellow green leaf
and stopping for a while
on my shiny, brown twig
tell me if i am smooth
just tell me if
if am good
then leave

blue butterfly
do not ask if my heart is real
do not ask if you can have it
i do not have a heart anymore
for you see i am just this
tree, this twig, this leaf

but blue butterfly
if ever i have a heart

please
do not ask about it
i give it to no one

i am smooth
i am too good
to be owned by
someone

Cheaters Road

(jason sellers/sharon rice)
Down a dirt road in southern louisiana
Flew a white continental with the top laid back
Pretty blonde sittin on a seat of red leather
Dust blowin outta those well wore tracks
She goin back
Moss hangin down like beards in the bayou
Old folks watchin from a rockin chair
Aint no place for a girl of her state
Shes gonna ruin her reputation
She dont care cause hes waitin there
Shes gonna say
Tell me you think that Im pretty
Tell me you think that Im smart
Tell me anything and Ill believe it
cause Im listening with my heart
Maybe its wrong but thats the way it goes
When the only love you get is down
Cheaters road
Bedsprings rubbin her back through the blanket
Sweat like a tear rollin down her neck
Watchin him pullin down the shades on the window
Shed rather have him than an empty bed and her self respect
And she says
Tell me you think that Im pretty
Tell me you think that Im smart
Tell me anything and Ill believe it
cause Im listening with my heart
Maybe its wrong but thats the way it goes
When the only love you get is down
Cheaters road
Old man countin his money in the city
Nothin but the bottom dollar on his mind
The whole situation is a downright pity
He didnt even notice when she crossed that line
When she crossed that line
And she said
Tell me you think that Im pretty
Tell me you think that Im smart
Tell me anything and Ill believe it
cause Im listening with my heart
Maybe its wrong but thats the way it goes
When the only love you get is down
Cheaters road
Down cheaters road
Oh tell me you think that Im pretty
Tell me you think that Im smart
Oh tell me you think that Im pretty
Tell me you think that Im smart
Oh tell me you think that Im pretty
Tell me you think that Im smart

Torn Butterfly

Torn butterfly torn butterfly
Seeing you there it makes me cry
Torn butterfly your wings they tore
From the weight that they bore
Torn butterfly it's plain to see
That you are just the same as me
Torn butterfly the world is tough
Hard as stones and just as rough
Torn butterfly I know your pain
And I don't want to know it again
Torn butterfly come join me now
And we'll regain our wings somehow
Torn butterfly it's sad but true
In death our wings become brand new
Torn butterfly just fade away
And we will fly this very day
Torn butterfly this note I send
And hope that you will cause your end
So we can fly in clear blue skies
Where no one hurts and no one cries
Torn butterfly with my last breath
I ask you to come join me in death

Home

So long had I travelled the lonely road,
Though, now and again, a wayfairing friend
Walked shoulder to shoulder, and lightened the load,
I often would think to myself as I strode,
No comrade will journey with you to the end.

And it seemed to me, as the days went past,
And I gossiped with cronies, or brooded alone,
By wayside fires, that my fortune was cast
To sojourn by other men's hearths to the last,
And never to come to my own hearthstone.

The lonely road no longer I roam.
We met, and were one in the heart's desire.
Together we came, through the wintry gloam,
To the little old house by the cross-ways, home;
And crossed the threshold, and kindled the fire.

The Act of Losing

i am floating today
feeling like
a butterfly
flattering the wind
and teasing
the flowers
in this beautiful
city garden
inside a public
park

i realize
i like living the life of a foolish
blue butterfly
knowing fully well how short
my life span can be
and yet
still busying myself with
things no less
important

like
not deciding what to do
with any flower
or cloud
not having to say yes
to any wind or
cloud
neither saying no
something lies
beyond
any decision

just like it
belonging to no one
not subjecting my proboscis
to the
dictates of the hands
of time

it is a very light existence
without a thought
a direction
not even a clue
of who am
i
really
in this flitting
moment
where i am just another
anonymous
in the mall
in the park

Dog & Butterfly

There I was with the old man
Stranded again so off Id ran
A young world crashing around me
No possibilities of getting what I need
He looked at me and smiled
Said no, no, no, no, no child.
See the dog and butterfly. up in the
Air he like to fly. dog and butterfly
Below she had to try. she roll back down
To the warm soft ground laughing
She dont know why, she dont know why
Dog and butterfly
Well I stumbled upon your secret place
Safe in the trees you had tears on your face
Wrestling with your desires frozen strangers
Stealing your fires. the message hit my mind
Only words that I could find
See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he like to fly
Dog and butterfly below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft ground
Laughing to the sky, up to the sky
Dog and butterfly
Were getting older the worlds getting colder
For the life of me I dont know the reason why
Maybe its livin making us give in
Hearts rolling in taken back on the tide
Were balanced together ocean upon the sky
Another night in this strange town
Moonlight holding me light as down
Voice of confusion inside of me
No begging to go back where Im free
Feels like Im through
Then the old mans words are true
See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he like to fly
Dog and butterfly, below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft
Ground with a little tear in her eye
She had to try, she had to try
Dog and butterfly

In the park
an old man and an old woman
sit away from each other

A butterfly finds its way back

A butterfly finds its way back

It was a drift from the path
It took place sometime back
Because our heroine sensed a lack
In the taste of nectar in the flower of the park

To the same park this flock of butterflies
Used to come and enjoy the sweet and nice
Nectar in the red and blue poppies
And fly back with this sweetened hobby

It was more an excuse than a reason
For this drift, but a thought’s treason
To deviate and critically question
All that were followed in mindless unison

Our young colourful one with whistle
In her wings, over a time turned hostile
To this tradition and thought it futile
To be in the flock and went away for a while

Others in the group became worried
Wondering where she would have been carried
Was she in the insect flower got buried
Or was by ants after an injury curried

One fine morning suddenly the butterfly was sighted
And she joined the flock as if nothing got slighted
And told others she followed the path less lighted
For a flower who became with her less delighted

She expressed to join the flower of flock’s choice
And be ever with it without making any further noise
The flock has no words to say but to rejoice
The retrieval of the butterfly with her vouching voice

Butterfly Butterfly

Butterfly butterfly, fly high to the sky,
Let everyone see how beautiful you are,
Among thousands you stand out, why lie,
Flutter those wings till everyone says “Wah”!

Butterfly butterfly, you are so elusive,
For a moment i think you are mine,
But i just find myself in love delusive!
When i stretch my hand to hold you,
Away from me you fly to the tallest pine!

To give up, or to give up not i have no idea,
But it’s all good to watch you in the skies so clear,
Without you to fly nothing would be the blue azure sky,
But if you ever tire from flight, come to me butterfly butterfly! !

Twenty Two Days

(pitney)
Oh its been 22 lonely blue days without a word from you
And 44 million more tears Ive cried since you walked through that door
The sun never reaches my doorstep each empty day seems to be the same
Youve broken your vow but I still love you now, oh this love of mine is a one way losing game
And its been 22 lonely blue days without a word from you
And 44 million more tears Ive cried since you walked through that door
The dreams that we share are gone forever but I still have a little hope in my heart
Is this the way it ends? are we to be both friends? oh I cant go on if were to be apart
And its been 22 lonely blue dayswithout a word from you
And 44 million more tears Ive cried since you walked through that door
Yeah 22 days since you walked through that door
Ah 22 days since you walked through that door
Yeah 22 days since you walked through that door
Mmmm 22 days since you walked through that door

The Blue And The Red

THE BLUE AND THE RED

Red's my soul
Because of the pain
You let me on the blue road.
But this road was glowing.
Blue, blue like the roof
Of my house, like the tears
Which ran down your neck.
Red was your neck when
I touched the curve of your shoulder.
Red like your eyes after your tears.
But your eyes, before they carressed
My loving heart, your eyes were blue.
You drove in compact sreets of Red Hall.
Furtive memories. Blue furtive memories.
Feeling blues. You read in my thought.
Blue's my soul. Red your dress,
Walking on the village green

Lonely & Forgotten

I was Walking Alone In The Rain
Where I go, It's A Lonely Path
I walk Solo, No-one with Me
I cry Alone, With the Wind
With my Tears, As it goes

I feel Like A Stranger
Lonely And Forgotten
As I walked along
The Forgotten Park
Along the Lonely Boulevard

I walked Along the Park
As People threw water Balloons
At Me, And Laughed
I felt so ridiculed
and so isolated

I feel so alone, And Sad
So Isolated from the world around me
I feel Like a Stranger In Armadale
It's hard to make friends,
Because I'm Different
