A butterfly finds its way back

A butterfly finds its way back

It was a drift from the path
It took place sometime back
Because our heroine sensed a lack
In the taste of nectar in the flower of the park

To the same park this flock of butterflies
Used to come and enjoy the sweet and nice
Nectar in the red and blue poppies
And fly back with this sweetened hobby

It was more an excuse than a reason
For this drift, but a thought’s treason
To deviate and critically question
All that were followed in mindless unison

Our young colourful one with whistle
In her wings, over a time turned hostile
To this tradition and thought it futile
To be in the flock and went away for a while

Others in the group became worried
Wondering where she would have been carried
Was she in the insect flower got buried
Or was by ants after an injury curried

One fine morning suddenly the butterfly was sighted
And she joined the flock as if nothing got slighted
And told others she followed the path less lighted
For a flower who became with her less delighted

She expressed to join the flower of flock’s choice
And be ever with it without making any further noise
The flock has no words to say but to rejoice
The retrieval of the butterfly with her vouching voice

Glimpse

the flower may curse
the caterpillar at first glance
consuming its leaves
greedily
rushing for the next stage
of its life

then the silence of the cocoon
where the flower
doubts

and then the excitement
of the birth
of the yellow butterfly

the hope of the flower
and when
the flying begins
the flower unfolds
blooms

and the consortium begins
the nectar flows

and the flower
turns into another fruit
back
to its seed form
as the butterfly
nears its span
like a glimpse

Butterfly, Butterfly

Butterfly, butterfly
Your colors so bright
Where do you go
When God turns out the light?

Do you find someplace safe
That you can call home?
Or continue to flutter;
Continue to roam?

Through a buffet of flavors
Slurping nectar so sweet
Savoring a myriad of flowers
As their juices you drink.

Until your tummy's content
And you've had your fill
Now let your food settle
Until your next nectar meal.

Butterfly, butterfly,
Your colors so bright
Where do you go
When God turns out the light?

Do you continue to fly
From flower to flower
Or call it a day
Then wait out the hours?

Do you find a cozy
And comfy place
Where you're sure to show
God's beauty and grace?

Butterfly, butterfly
With colors so bright
Where do you go
When God turns out the light?

I've seen you
Many times before
At a picnic, a ballgame,
At the seashore.

Look for the beauty
God gave us to share
And we will find butterflies
Plentiful there.

Butterfly, butterfly,
Colors so bright
Where do you go
When God turns out the light?

Come Back As A Flower

The starngest thought came to me on this morning
As I awake to greet the coming dawn
The sun was hardly peaking through the garden
It felt that with everything I was one
Then I wished that I could come back as a flower
As a flower
As a flower
How I wished that I could come back as a flower
As a flower
To spread the sweetness of love
To spread the sweetness of love
The dew had finished making love to many
A rainbow smelling sweet was in the air
I envied all the silence I saw growing
So unmoved by things outside themselves
Then how I wished that I could come back as a flower
As a flower
As a flower
How I wished that I could come back as a flower
As a flower
To spread the sweetness of love
How I wished that I could come back as a flower
Oh as a flower
As a flower
How I wished that I could come back as a flower
As a flower
As a flower
To spread the sweetness of love
To spread the sweetness of love
(background)
Wished that I could come back as a flower
Flower
Flower
Wished that I could come back as a flower
Flower
Sweetness of love
How I come back as a flower
Flower
Flower
How I come back as a flower
Flower
Sweetness of love
Sweetness of love

A Perfect Landing

A gaily painted butterfly hovers over
A dainty flower, as a miniature helicopter
Patiently waiting for a landing signal,
The flower welcomes the timely arrival

And guides it to its destination,
As there is no traffic congestion
It makes a perfect landing with precision,
Without any accident or collision,

The butterfly deposits its cargo
Noiselessly moving to and fro,
Flower offers nectar to the visitor
Later it takes off with a flutter.

Spellbound I watch this in silence
And my senses revel in the image.
Have I ever seen, I wonder
Two butterflies on the same flower?

A mystery novel may grip the mind of a reader
Can it surpass the thrill of reading the book of nature?

Flower of Delight

Enter my flower
love becomes an open door
into my hearts way

Once again I come
drinking in your sweet nectar
flower of delight

Color my dreams blue
enter my lovely flower
in the morning dew.

I melt in nectar
of this beautiful flower
she overwhelmes me.

Butterfly...

Butterfly...my all..my own, Butterfly

My butterfly, I remember the
day we met. You bumped into me.
Well, sort of floated, from no where,
and from that moment, I recall what
I said, 'Well, my little butterfly,
where did you come from.?

Butterfly, you laughed, and responded,
'I picked you out, and just floated down,
and landed on your shoulder.

Butterfly, there are many that think
that a Butterfly, can't laugh, but you did.

They think that a Butterfly, does not cry,
but you have.

Can a Butterfly be happy, cause happiness?
Butterfly, of mine...you did.

Can a Butterfly, caused one to nearly burst
with joy? Butterfly, you did and you have.

Butterfly, there is not a moment, since I
met you, that I can not recall.

Some might wonder what a butterfly, drinks.
Butterfly, shall we let them know, we became
intoxicated, as we sipped the nectar of life.

As my butterfly and I floated through the
wonders of earth, I wish we could share the
joy we found, with all of this planet.

Butterfly, shall we always be together?
Butterfly, I do not mean, just here on
earth, I mean until the stars stop shinning.
Butterfly, I mean, until there is no moon...
no anything, but my Butterfly and I.

Butterfly...I think that we will. Butterfly,
I believe that we were meant to be.

My Lovely Flower

I thank God for my lovely flower
For there are millions who are ignorant of her existance,
The enchanting aroma that is with her,
Or her charm that makes me to always keep thinking,
I am fascinated that she was wonderfully made,
Then just kept for me to find one day.

Seeing her is like waking up at dawn to bath in the Sun's rays
She has harmless attraction like a colorful butterfly,
Or a bright flower always sort by the bees for it's beauty,
Not forgetting it's sweet nectar also!
That is my sweet Sweetie.

The flower is far from me and I cannot smell the aroma now,
Last night I went to dreamland where I hoped to find my flower Then I woke up this morning to melodious sounds,
Sounds of chirping birds in the nearby tree as if to praise her,
Thinking about my flower.

I want to tend and care for this flower,
So that she may produce more flowers like herself,
O flower! Remain that lovely forever.

Butterfly, butterfly
you live up there
high up in the sky
steer and you veer you
there and here
flower to flower-
dine on fairy fare
and nectar-water
apparently without a care;
all time defy
living on family gold-
isn't it really time
you had a caterpiller?
Beware the coming cold.
It isn't fair.
If you, too, were
stuck with hair
with only half my sucker power
and saw clear
on carrion to feed
you too could vermin breed
sure and awfully sure, I'm
sure that if you only tried
you could be
a bug like me
annoying everyone
always on the outside
trying to sneak in
or the inside on
longing to get out
anger self justified
seeming not to care-
Shape up or you're done for
there, Butterfly-
Yours, in envy and despair,

Fly.

Multicolored Butterfly

There was a multicolored butterfly flying in the air
A multicolored butterfly- who did not have a care.
Going from flower to flower for all the world to see
The beauties of nature made for you and me.
People stopping and talking and gazing upon its wings
This is one of the wonders GOD gave us.
And such a beautiful thing.

This multicolored butterfly flew around my head
I knew if I grabbed it- then soon it would be dead.
They have a life expectancy of seventy two hours you see
And that is the reason it has to be free.

They have a place called butterfly world
In a town called coconut creek
I knew I had to go there
I had to take a peek.

They had butterflies from all over the world
And a quick class to show, all the boys and girls.
There is so much about butterflies that I didn’t know
They can see colors of red, yellow, and green
But nothing in between.
They sip nectars from flowers through their tongues
And smell through their antennae, and taste with
Their feet, and breathe through the sides of their bodies
That in itself is a learning treat.
So to this butterfly that’s flying around my head
I salute and praise your beauty till the moment
That you’re dead.
I will mourn for you for the short time that you lived.
Because in that time, you had so much to give.

A Humming-Bird And A Butterfly

Once upon a time...
On a lovely spring afternoon
a butterfly was flying in the garden
She landed on a flower,
And left its nectar.
A humming bird
was attracted by its smell
and fed itself with it.
In all the afternoons of that sping,
the butterfly flew,
Spreading her wings between the flowers
Leaving its nectar on them.
The humming-bird was enchanted,
And he drank it in all the flowers,
Because he fell in love with her.

Butterfly Friend

Butterfly friend, how well do I know you
How long will you stay is the question I ask
Butterfly friend how well do you know me
How long will you love me
Do I love you too?

Butterfly friend, there poised in the shadows
Which of the blooms gives the scent you prefer?
Butterfly friend from flower to flower.....
How long will you love me
Do I love you too?

You of the beautiful bright coloured wings
Take of my sweetness:
Soar to the sky
Whilst I, on the sidelines, keep track of your flight
Take of my sweetness
And fly!

Butterfly friend no more in the shadows
Free from the flowers now faded and pale
Butterfly friend I know that you love me
You ask if I love you?
You know that I do.

Only myself in a crowded street

Only myself walking down the crowded street,
Everyone around me like statues in a park.
Here’s a car waiting to turn,
There’s an old man feeding the birds.

I can picture what there doing,
But their only paused.
As though the video is stopped,
They just stand there waiting for it to play.

This strange new world where all time has stopped,
Why have I been brought to this odd dimension?
Only I can move back and forth,
Only I can reach out and feel their stone cold hands.

Many questions left unanswered,
And no one there to ask.
Desperately I search,
For any sign of life.

Then strangely I see,
A little insect fly.
As though in this despair,
There is something there besides myself.

I follow the butterfly,
As though it is my one last hope.
It lands on a head,
Of one of these statue-like beings.

And suddenly they start moving,
As though given life.
The little flying insect,
Skips from one to another.

Each and every one that the butterfly touches,
Starts moving in their step.
Each action that I pictured,
Becomes real before my eyes.

Then the little butterfly flies,
Back into the sky.
Never to be seen again,
Or so I thought that day.

Then after years gone by,
And I turned old and fragile.
Laying in my bed,
Looking up into the sky.

I saw the little butterfly,
Fly down to where I lay.
Landed by my ear,
And softly spoke to me.

“It is time for you to leave, ”
Said the little butterfly.
“I’ll bring you to a place,
That will give you life once more.”

Then the little butterfly,
Flew onto my forehead.
And flew off to another stone planet,
Leaving my body statue-like.

Dog & Butterfly

There I was with the old man
Stranded again so off Id ran
A young world crashing around me
No possibilities of getting what I need
He looked at me and smiled
Said no, no, no, no, no child.
See the dog and butterfly. up in the
Air he like to fly. dog and butterfly
Below she had to try. she roll back down
To the warm soft ground laughing
She dont know why, she dont know why
Dog and butterfly
Well I stumbled upon your secret place
Safe in the trees you had tears on your face
Wrestling with your desires frozen strangers
Stealing your fires. the message hit my mind
Only words that I could find
See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he like to fly
Dog and butterfly below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft ground
Laughing to the sky, up to the sky
Dog and butterfly
Were getting older the worlds getting colder
For the life of me I dont know the reason why
Maybe its livin making us give in
Hearts rolling in taken back on the tide
Were balanced together ocean upon the sky
Another night in this strange town
Moonlight holding me light as down
Voice of confusion inside of me
No begging to go back where Im free
Feels like Im through
Then the old mans words are true
See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he like to fly
Dog and butterfly, below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft
Ground with a little tear in her eye
She had to try, she had to try
Dog and butterfly

What turned the Germans Back

WHAT turned the German myriads back
From Paris whither they had won?
The sword dropped from their hold grown slack;
Children of Attila the Hun,
Like Attila, went backward driven
By a young shepherdess of Heaven.

A shepherdess is Genevieve,
And though her flock should wander light,
This shepherdess is quick to save
The black, the speckled and the white.
She takes her golden crook and goes
And deals destruction to its foes.

She who turned Attila back, so slim,
A shepherdess that keeps the flock,
Waited as once she did for him,
Slight as a reed or her own crook;
'Turn back in God's Name!' They went back.
The tide is stemmed for her sweet sake.

White Genevieve upon her hill
Prays, and the German hosts retreat.
She plucks the Robes of Heaven still
That Heaven give victory for defeat;
And keeps her motley flock in sight,
The black, the speckled and the white.
