Blood is thicker than water
Remember the days we shared a slice of bread
Dipped in a chicken gravy bowl.
Unfortunately bones got wings and flew away.
Remember the days we shared a tiny bed with bugs.
A winter; We stranded in Portugal
No heater; the cheap room rented in the upper Lisbon Railway station.
Still I hear that mysterious train hoots of our hard times.
Hardly I breath now and sadness hugs me secretly.
But you are no more, my loving brother!
You are my intimate friend and I think of you deeply
While waiting at a solitary station till my crawling train comes.
* To my deceased younger brother Rohan! Once we traveled together in Europe under the same tattered sky without an aim.And I never forget your precious soup that made from throw away rotten tomatoes.

Sad cooing into the deep!
[Who being loved, is poor? ]-Oscar Wilde
Passing midnight
sleep boycotts,
I heard a coo
from a faraway
turtle dove's dark nest!
'On an auspicious day
You took my saintly husband away
Who's never been to a fight?
Still no letter sees
from the killing fields
and how long it takes?
When this brutal war's going to be finished? '
O I believe it's stronger than a bugle's blow
Deeper than the Ocean
And I was awake
till the dawn?
My sleepy thoughts dragged to the bygone days
We're watching the last tram in Lisbon
from the balcony of our rented lodge
And a beggar-maid who sang a lullaby
Under the Railway station's bridge.
Where's my deceased brother Rohan now?
Who's very aggressive with couple of drinks
And he wants to be a soldier, (now I realized brother not to fight with the fellow human beings but the fanatic Warlords?)
Still I remember his deep cry................................!
To my loving brother Rohan! I am so grateful to you for that nourishing soup made from throw away cherry tomatoes in Portugal.

Stagnant Sailor Hears The Old Ship's Whistle!
O This Wedlock!
How strong it's like concrete?
I dropped my anchor once
And thought it's a muddy bottom
No it's rocky?
And I cannot heave up the anchor
and sail again.
Wind is so wild and the Ocean's frozen!
If I get a chance soon I reach Portugal
The upper Railway station apartment in Lisbon
Deceased brother & myself we shared a delicious rotten
Tomato soup with a slice of brown bread,
The well learned cobbler Pedro Rodriguez
Who speaks little English like me
We discussed about the fine book of Eca De Queiroz's 'Sin of Father Amaro'
Jade eyed girl in Antwerp who said rain stopped
when I asked the umbrella
and in Cairo the Mummy in a Pyramid
gave me a lovable smile?
That middle aged Gypsy woman Varna in Yugoslavia
Who sat on a wooden bench crossed legs
read my palm and said; 'In your previous birth
you married to a beggarmaid and became rich
And you married her again now,
live together a happy life and don't sail further? '
I hear that ship's whistle fading away!

Last Train To Clarkesville
Take the last train to Clarksville,
And I'll meet you at the station.
You can be be there by four thirty,
'Cause I made your reservation.
Don't be slow, oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
'Cause I'm leavin' in the morning
And I must see you again
We'll have one more night together
'Til the morning brings my train.
And I must go, oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
And I don't know if I'm ever coming home.
Take the last train to Clarksville.
I'll be waiting at the station.
We'll have time for coffee flavored kisses
And a bit of conversation.
Oh... Oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
Take the last train to Clarksville,
Now I must hang up the phone.
I can't hear you in this noisy
Railroad station all alone.
I'm feelin' low. Oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
And I don't know if I'm ever coming home.
Take the last train to Clarksville,
Take the last train to Clarksville,

Train
Writers: leo sayer & david courtney
Running through my life
Like a river, like a song
Train keeps pushing me
Right back to the place where I belong...
Back along the tracks
Fly a million years
Right across my path
Train moves on ringing in my ears...
Come on board
Come on board
Train, oh train, take me back, again
I remember, I remember, take me back
Train, oh train, the journey ends and starts again
I remember, I remember, I remember
Ive been up all night trying to get this down
Now Im hallucinating
Staring at the wall look what Im creating...
Look at the clock Im twelve hours old
So many more remain
Way up ahead I know I see a train...
Come on board
Come on board
Train, oh train, all those memories, all over again
I remember, I remember, take me back
Train, oh train, the journey ends and starts again
I remember, I remember, I remember
Waited on the station all day
Just to see a glimpse of the morning train
Just to see the wheels turning round
Blowing up steam,
See what I mean,
You see what I mean...

Train Long Gone
(Gone!) Well, I hate how that word
Rattles all around in this room
(Alone,) with a memory so strong
I could sweep it up with a broom.
(Tears,) if I shed anymore I'm afraid
They might wear out my face
(Clear,) Yes, It's clear to me now
That her love can never be replaced.
Love may be gone but never forgotten
The memory won't leave you alone
And the train may be long gone from the station
But you still hear the whistle moan.
Still hear the whistle moan.
--- Instrumental ---
(Time,) time got so slow and thick
That the clock hardly ticks anymore
(Crime,) it's a crime how I sit here
And stare like a dog at the door.
(Blame,) Aw yes, I'll take the blame
I admit I did not treat her right
(Shame,) It's a shame laying here
All alone on this cold, windy night.
Love may be gone but never forgotten
The memory won't leave you alone
And the train may be long gone from the station
But you still hear the whistle moan.
Still hear the whistle moan.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train gone, long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train gone, long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train gone, long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh.
Love may be gone but never forgotten
The memory won't leave you alone
And the train may be long gone from the station
But you can still hear the whistle moan.
Still hear the whistle moan.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train gone, long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train, long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train, long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train gone, long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train, long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Long gone train.
Ohh, Ohh, Ohh
Train, long gone train.

Train, long gone train...

My Memories of Then
I remember moments far back in the deepness of my mind
Of past times, of you and me and a life that has been
I remember thoughts I use to have all throughout the night
When my world was about you, one that I have always knew
I remember knowing how you were the part that made me whole
The wings on my back now unusable, that let me flew
I remember then, why I no longer wanted the world's gold
Because I had you, making me feel like I'm important
I remember the days passing so quickly, now lost forever
That defined my youth, and the man that was forming
I remember those words always said and never stuttered
About the love we shared, the duality intertwining
I remember the clouds, the weather that was above us
The cold days in warmth, on a big bed we were lying
I remember the end, the memories now covered with dust
But everything I know about you is still perfectly fine
I still remember your face, and all that we've said and seen
How it came to be, and how it came to pass is all in my mind

The New Year Train
We're waiting at the platform in the New Railway Station
There the train comes and no destination?
And the banner shows it's a Youth Train!
I checked our tattered season-tickets
Old age's there and faded.
I was so sad when she asked;
'Darling, we could hide in the Goods compartment.'

Where was my brother
Where was my brother when I needed him there?
Does he think I don’t notice or assume I don’t care?
Where was my bother it was once him and once me?
But now at some bad times it’s him I don’t see.
Where was my brother who’s back I once had?
You were the brother to count on the good times and bad.
Where was my brother by my side he should be?
He should be right here why can’t I see?
Where was my brother when I needed him most?
Now when I look to my side all I see is his ghost.
Where was my brother did I bring shame?
Does he remember me now, does he remember my name?
Where was my brother waiting to long for his call?
So I put up a brick on my emotional wall.
Where was my brother, its his court its his ball?
Guess my brother has proved he’s no brother at all.

A Hole
Brother where art thou?
Hidden under screen doors?
Did they grow like choke weeds
Around the tree?
Are they silencing your trap?
Brother where art thou?
In berry bushes, a wine flavor?
Did you forget the clippers?
Did you let the screen sprout
Like a city from the desert?
Something that should not be there?
Brother where art thou?
Did we not come from the same womb?
Will we not have the same last name
on our tomb?
Do you remember the skyscraper you built
from the sand?
Do you remember what we shared...
The way we were, hand in hand?
Brother where art thou?
I miss you so.
Brother where art thou?
Did the oil rag you tossed at my feet
Leave longer lasting marks?
Has the engine refused to turn over
a new leaf?
Do you know my agony?
Does the bunk bed bring you nightmares?
Brother where art thou?
How can you sit so close, yet be so far away?
When is the last time that your heart
saw the light of day?
Do you remember the s**t? the grime?
The f***ing Superbowl?
The knives we could've pulled out
of each others backs?
Do you remember what I made in the sand
next to your skyscraper?
It was a... well you know.

The Murder of the Orient Express
Since 1883, the European railway that linked Paris to Istanbul was born.
It had a world famous name or you can call it an 'address',
It made murder mysteries famous, --Agatha Christie's,
'The Murder on the Orient Express',
- the first European transcontinental train was born.
For almost 127 years, the train rattled and roamed the European countryside
With the best food and drink at the time and 'coachettes' for sleeping
Going trough little villages and big cities,
The people on board, most of them happy but some of them weeping.
'City of New Orleans', a train that was the idea of the song by the same name,
-it was written by Steve Goodman,
And made famous by Arlo Guthrie.
Whose father, Woody Guthrie, by his American Folk Style music was his fame.
Crosby, Stills, and Nash, sang about train the 'Marrakesh Express'.
What song will be written about the demise of The Orient Express?
I've traveled countries in Europe, it was fun and it was intimate,
-you can get close to people from all over.
I remember sitting next to a German music librarian from Leipzig.
We talked about J. S. Bach and the wall.
That was in 1979, on a train that was bound to Copenhagen from Venice.
The wall came down 10 years later, and there was such happiness and bliss after a couple generations between Allied and Warsaw Pact countries which were full of strife.
I remember a few Italian soldiers who shared their homemade wine with me
So technology has brought and end to 'yesteryears' way of life.
The cheap air travel, the speed which one can travel, both day and night,
Would've been beyond comprehension the latter part of the 19th century person.
What will travel look like 127 years hence?
Providing, world does end in December 21,2012.
Will it be supersonic travel at MACH 5*?
Will it be teleportation?
The future generations will see.
1-1-10
* 3200 mph/6080 kmph or you can go from Paris to New York in a matter of 2 hours.

The Photograph
She sat on the platform bench
waiting for a train to arrive.
Waiting to see her brother
who left to start a new life
twenty-five years ago.
She brought a photograph of herself
for him to have when he went back home.
Stillness engulfed the station
as she waited alone there.
The hiss of an old steam train
filled the quiet air
as along the track it came
like a dinosaur from the past
and stopped at the station.
A group of young soldiers
disembarked to stretch their legs
and grab some fresh air.
One young soldier approached her.
He was sixteen if he was a day.
He smiled as he sat beside her.
“You’re a pretty lady.” He said.
“Thank you.” She replied. “Off to fight some battles? ”
“Yes, but I am not really sure where.
They say a lot of us might not be coming back”
“That is sad.” She replied.
“Especially when you have no one
to think of you.”
“You see I am an orphan
and have no family or a girlfriend come to that.
No one to think of me
when the great battles come.”
“Now that is sad, ” She said looking at him.
Then she realized the photograph
for her brother was in her handbag.
She reached in and removed it.
“Take this and think of me
when your great battles come.”
“I will keep it with me always.
Now I must get back on the train.”
As the train whistle blew.
He waved goodbye as the steam engulfed him.
Then the train was gone
as quickly as it had come.
The stillness that had engulfed the station
now dissipated to.
Suddenly there was noise everywhere.
She looked around
as if waking from a dream.
She looked back down the tracks.
The mournful hoot of the electric horn
herald the arriving electric train.
She watched it intensely
as it slowed to stop at the station.
Two passengers alighted,
a man and a woman.
Her brother and his wife.
She greeted them with a smile,
but her brother’s wife looked at her in shock
as if she had seen a ghost.
They hugged one another,
and then left the station
to go to her home.
Arriving at her home
her sister-in-law looked at her again.
“Sorry if I look mystified when I look at you.
I have something I must tell you.
My grandfather before he died
asked me to find any relatives
to a lady in a photograph.
It was given to him
when he was leaving to go to war
over seventy years ago.
He carried it with him everywhere he went.
He said the photograph protected him
like a good luck charm.
He swore one day to return it,
but events made that impossible.
He immigrated when the war was over
and never got the chance.
He wanted to let her family know
of the kind deed she did”
“But that does not explain
the way you looked at me.”
She removed the photograph
and handed it to her.
It was the photograph
she had given the young soldier
only hours before.

Billie
I am Billie,
But the wings of your sweet love came and took me away;
And like the love songs in a cold winter night,
But i will always remember the days that we shared together.
Praise be your name and praise be my muse,
And of the joy of things that you introduced me into;
But i will always remember the love that we shared together.

Brother...
More than the blood of my blood. He is my friend,
my rock...my brother.
Brother, in times of need, never judging, always there.
My Brother, could, would, always make things right.
Brother, never made much ado, about the task at
hand...he just did it.
Brother, who lifted me, when I was down.
Brother, who brought the laughter, amid the pain.
Brother, the word he never spoke...was 'no'.
Brother, who had the answers, to my questions.
Brother, who by example, did walk the path of right.
Brother, in all my years...in all my life, never have
I met another...like my loving brother.
The Blood That Binds...
More than the blood of my blood. He is my friend,
