A lonely night in a desert
I am a lone Bedouin and how strange this Nomadic race?
The legend says of Pharaoh but I have never seen them.
I see through my tattered tent the far away red star in altitude
And it must be Aldebaran.
I take out the old lute from my knapsack and pluck the strings.
My ration is poor and I dream of an Oasis nearby and I hear the sad murmur of my companion camel and its boredom.
We sing together the oldest bitter song.
' Where we have come from and where do we go? '
*[You have made me for yourself, and my heart is restless until it rests in you.]

And let the oil flow cheaply!
Heads of state or government of 25 nations met in Belgrade, capital of Yugoslavia at the first Summit of Non-Aligned Nations on 1st September 1961. Sri Lanka was a founder of the Non-Aligned Movement which consisted mainly of developing countries that preferred to stay away from any power blocks. These nations were not aligned to any superpower – either USA (America) or USSR (Russia) .Sri Lanka’s newly elected Prime Minister, Sirimavo Bandaranaike attended the inaugural Summit, stepping on to the world stage as the world’s first woman Prime Minister. She attended the second Summit held in Cairo in 1964 and in 1976 hosted the fifth Summit in Colombo. Thereafter Sri Lanka occupied the chair for three years. The origin of the movement dates back to 1954, when the Prime Minister of India, Shri Jawaharlal Nehru had coined the term “non-alignment” during his speech at the Asian Prime Ministers Conference in Colombo. In this speech, Nehru described the five pillars to be used as a guide for Sino-Indian relations. Called ‘Panchaseela’ (five restraints) , these principles would later serve as the basis of the Non-Aligned Movement. The five principles were: Mutual respect for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereigntyMutual non-aggression
Mutual non-interference in domestic affairsEquality and mutual benefit
Peaceful co-existence
I hear a sad Bedouin song of an aging Dictator
Who sung with his deep voice for a long period!
Yes, let others to sing and get rid of the power.
Bring the lute and leave the wealth.
Like your younger days remember
You touched the Sri Lankan soil once
As Omar Mukthar the Hero!
At the 5th Non-Alignment Summit, Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1976.
We're old now and leave aside the burden
Watch how they sing with the different pitch?
Companion Camel too old now
And no more desert crossing
Stop at an Oasis!
Take the lute out and sing the oldest song;
'Where we've come from
And where do we go? '
And let the oil flow cheaply!

The Tears in Desert
Once upon a time in a desert,
There was a camel and an oasis,
Large terrain, scorpions, rattlesnakes, cruel sun and cactus,
Camel galloped its way through the painful elements,
May be this was less,
Qabilas and Pathans used it,
Bruised it,
Work done; Bye bye,
Beautiful motives to use it,
Tears filled its eyes but sun evaporated them all,
No one cared so on its knees,
Still working its way towards oasis,
But not getting it right,
Do you know who camel was? , or is?
Think twice, take your time,
Hope this time would enough for its journey to oasis...

Star Of The Knight
sing to me star, sing the song that you have to bare
cause i am restless from the fight to my enemies
but hear not what others discourse
they are naive in their ways
of condescending behavior
they do not know the love you bare for us
but i still stand here under your glorious incumbency
for i bare this sword with honor
for i bare this shield with love
i know your light upon my feet will guide
me on my path, my path to you
my blade is now crimson my shield is now discarded
but star my star, sing me a song so i may sleep tonight
i am fresh from the fight, these wounds have not healed
this blood has not dried, beautiful ensanguine star
that i lay encumbered under, sing my song
the song of the fallen knight for i
will be joining you tonight
my star that you are the star i have honored
my star i am dieing for

Israphel
A dreamer midst the stars doth dwell,
Known to the gods as Israphel.
His heart-strings are a lute;
And when, the magic notes outpouring,
He parts his lips, the gods, adoring,
Listen in transport mute,
Subdued and softened by the spell
Of the dreamer, Israphel!
And mortals, when they hear him, start,
And, full of wonder, call him—Art,
And, fain his gift to gain,
Essay to imitate the fashion
Of his rare song, and breathe its passion,—
But, ah, they strive in vain;
For his song is more than art,
Whose lute-strings are his heart!
And others, unto whom he wings
The sweetest melodies he sings,
In worship, name him—Love;
Yet longing the pure strain to capture,
When at the very height of rapture,
A sadness oft approve,
And fancy, strangely, that he wrings
The music from their own heart-strings!

The Reward Of Song
_Why do we make our music?_
Oh, blind dark strings reply:
Because we dwell in a strange land
And remember a lost sky.
We ask no leaf of the laurel,
We know what fame is worth;
But our songs break out of our winter
As the flowers break out on the earth.
And we dream of the unknown comrade,
In the days when we lie dead,
Who shall open our book in the sunlight,
And read, as ourselves have read,
On a lonely hill, by a firwood,
With whispering seas below,
And murmur a song we made him
Ages and ages ago.
If making his may-time sweeter
With dews of our own dead may,
One pulse of our own dead heart-strings
Awake in his heart that day,
We would pray for no richer guerdon,
No praise from the careless throng;
For song is the cry of a lover
In quest of an answering song.
As a child might run to his elders
With news of an opening flower
We should walk with our young companion
And talk to his heart for an hour,
As once by my own green firwood,
And once by a Western sea,
Thank God, my own good comrades
Have walked and talked with me.
Too mighty to make men sorrow,
Too weak to heal their pain
(Though they that remember the hawthorn
May find their heaven again),
We are moved by a deeper hunger;
We are bound by a stronger cord;
For love is the heart of our music,
And love is its one reward.

Night Music
Can you hear the lone night music
Coming in so near
When I hear the lone night music
Every nightmare crumbles and they disappear
Can you hear the echoes calling
Speaking in verse
When I hear the lone night music
Everything gets stronger and I lose this curse
Help me break the chains that hold me
Keep me from the truth
I want to feel the hands that raise me
From a low down level to the highest roof
Woh oh night music
I hear it now
Night music
I want to catch the rock thats falling
Roll it back up hill
When I hear the strange night music
The whole worlds turning and Im still standing still
I feel it growing deep inside me
Still Im at a loss
When I hear the strange night music
Its a warning signal theres a bridge to cross
Good news from the next world
Tear yourself apart
X still marks the time and place
To cure your bitter heart
Fell like running water
Water of the soul
Spinning like a spinning wheel
Way beyond control
Spinning like a spinning wheel
Way beyond control
Can you hear the lone night music
Coming in so far
When I hear the lone night music
Its a lonely planet its a burning star
I want to swim the widest ocean
Diving in so deep
When I hear the lone night music
Coming in so near
When I hear the lone night music
All my nightmares crumble
And they disappear

O My dear unseen Lord!
You gave me a Camel
And stretched a long desert
A poor ration with a decander of water.
But I am not blaming you,
Is it possible to live with an old female Camel
In his entire life with fundamental needs?
*The soul would have no rainbow if the eye had no tear.

Dialogue
The Lone Star: Why are you looking at me?
Me: : For a soulful company
The Lone Star: I am so above, you are far below
Me: : My heart yearns for a distant fellow
The Lone Star: Do I not blink too often!
Me: : My pulse beats too fast, O listen!
The Lone Star: I am a citizen of a cold universe
Me: : My heart warms for you and will never lapse
The Lone Star: I float alone like a wanderer
Me: : I can touch your reflection on a dew's sphere
The Lone Star: You miss me when there is a day's light
Me: : You sleep so quiet in depth of a day's bright
The Lone Star: For ages lonely I am here
Me: : When I shall leave my place, I will be right there

Long Necked Ruminant
Long Necked Ruminant
So you think a camel is just an ugly animal,
a camel has kissable lips and eyes like
Marilyn Monroe; and it gives milk, low fat and
nourishing. But I bet you didn’t know that.
When a four wheel, stops by lack of petrol in
the sand of Sahara, the camel with its padded
cloves trudges along, smells like hell, but
who cares when it can bring you to an oasis.
Sweet dates, cold water and languor under
palm trees, a dream comes true, but do not
forget it was a camel that brought you there.
And have you ever tasted camel cheese?

Corinna
When to her lute Corinna sings,
Her voice revives the leaden strings,
And doth in highest notes appear
As any challenged echo clear.
But when she doth of mourning speak,
Even with her sighs the strings do break.
And as her lute doth live or die;
Led by her passion, so must I.
For when of pleasure she doth sing,
My thoughts enjoy a sudden spring;
But if she doth of sorrow speak,
Even from my heart the strings do break.

A Camel For You
A camel for you and,
A lion for me! !
In the land of beautiful animals to respect nature;
But, anger kills a fool!
Envy slays many but, you do sit idle in the land of your muse;
So, how can i sing a nice song in this strange land?
When, the bullets of war are chasing me! !
The grave has enlarged itself!
And now, it had opened wide its mouth to swallow many;
But, take heed and be quiet,
Oh, my fairest among women.
A camel for you and,
A lion for me! !
But, the snow falls on us without a direction;
And like a mare among Pharaoh's chariots.
Dripping liquid of myrrh! !
Where is my fairest lady among women?
For, someone sits idle and does not know the time!
And like the battle of Magnesia.

How Can I Fake Some Feelings?
when you fake your orgasm
i know it
by heart, there is no moisture
in my thoughts,
dry
as a desert i walk like a bedouin
without a song
my camel looking for some
water in the oasis
mirage,
we too are mutual
in this faking game
i do not even have to fake
my feelings
loving you
it is the bulb in my head
above the bed
where we make love
in an intertwine
when the light clicks
see another face
forgive me
i have had your fake orgasms
multiple in fact
but i really do not mind
faking my feelings
they are not there anymore
i do not have them
they have long been buried
in the marrow of my
bones
the red blood there
long dried
i do not even remember
where and when

The charming girl was in the book of History once I met her!
Like a fine wine
Over hundred of years
Your traditional love
And its flavour
Touched my heart deeply.
The old and new
Past and present
It should be love
Other than anything.
But I am a Nomad
And travelled
From place to place.
The wearied old camel
Rests beside me and I take out
My broken-string lute for a song.
Virgin Moon shines like a coin
And the desert wind brings the memory of our old song.
'It should be love other than anything
Because we are in the city that never sleeps! '
A humble dedication to the poetess Magnolia in gratitude!

To Be A Star
I was seventeen, ou were working for
Matthew and son,
(the) beatles me the queen, and i wrote
I'm gonna get me a gun, yeah, yeah
It was like a dream in the star machine,
Oh, no, izitso, izitso?
I never wanted to be a star, i never wanted
To travel far
I only wanted a little bit of love
So i could put a little love in my heart
I never wanted to be la-de-da, go to parties
'avec le bourgeois'
I only wanted to sing my song well,
So i could ring a small bell in your heart
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I was on the road, sleeping between lorry
Lights, oh no
Stone-drunk and cold, heading into a bad
Night, yeah, yeah
Just another bean in the star machine, hi ho,
Here i go, here i go
I never wanted to be a star buy my mum a
Ferrari car
I only wanted to run my own race,
So i could win a small place in your heart
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Nature found a way, it picked me up off the
Dark side, yeah, yeah
Showed me another day, it made me sing
'i think i see the light'
Not another bean in the star machine, oh no,
This time i won't go
I never wanted to be a star, i never wanted to travel far
I only wanted a little bit of love
So i could put a little love in my heart.

Fragment Of A Sleep-Song
SISTER Simplicitie,
Sing, sing a song to me,
Sing me to sleep.
Some legend low and long,
Slow as the summer song
Of the dull Deep.
Some legend long and low,
Whose equal ebb and flow
To and fro creep
On the dim marge of gray
’Tween the soul’s night and day,
Washing “awake” away
Into “asleep.”
Some legend low and long,
Never so weak or strong
As to let go
While it can hold this heart
Withouten sigh or smart,
Or as to hold this heart
When it sighs “No.”
Some long low swaying song,
As the sway’d shadow long
Sways to and fro
Where, thro’ the crowing cocks,
And by the swinging clocks,
Some weary mother rocks
Some weary woe.
Sing up and down to me
Like a dream-boat at sea,
So, and still so,
Float through the “then” and “when,”
Rising from when to then,
Sinking from then to when
While the waves go.
Low and high, high and low,
Now and then, then and now,
Mow, now;
And when the now is then, and when the then is now,
And when the low is high, and when the high is low,
Low, low;
Let me float, let the boat
Go, go;
Let me glide, let me slide
Slow, slow;
Gliding boat, sliding boat,
Slow, slow;
Glide away, slide away
So, so.

Song For A Star
This is a song for a star
If you really are a star
Here is a song for you all
Take a lesson before you fall
We're caught in the middle of everything
It's like trying to figure out which bell to ring
You think you'd made the start of it
But this is just the start of it now
Steppin' in time with your pace
Tho' we've never yet met face to face
This is a song for yourself
In the hopes that we don't do it wrong
We're caught in the middle of everything
Lookin' and turnin' out songs to sing
It could've been the start of it
But this is just the start of it now
You can be a star if you can climb
Just make sure you are in the nick of time
This is a song for a star (song for a star)
This is a song for a star (song for a star)
This is a song for a star
If you really are a star
This to whoever you are
If you really are a star

A Thrill Of Hope
you love and fail
and you want to die
the heart that loves and fails
shirks and shrinks like a drying grape to the desert sun
raisin, look at you, you have become a raisin
wrinkled fruit,
shrinked to the size minimal to the existence
desired, you dry some more, taking away all the life
possible in your skin and bone
the desert sun is cruellest
in you
so unforgiving so determined to shrink you
more than a raisin
this cruelty can turn you into a stone
the night has come
this thrill of hope comes like a comforting friend
to tell you raisin,
keep the sweetness still
for tomorrow's bitterest spill
the cruelest sun
the deadliest ever
on this desert sun the hottest sands
and you will not surrender
the hope is still there
the dream is this oasis somewhere
the bedouin and his coming camel
who knows? and when?

Melody Of Love
I always
Stayed away from love
Afraid of what might
Might happen
Till i thought
I heard a sound above
Singing through my very
Own heart
Was a melody
I never heard
Like birds singing loud
To the sky
Never dreamed that
True love would help me
Find my way
Didn't know how deep i'd fallen
Until you rescued, rescued me
Suddenly
Strings began
I heard the melody again and again
The sound of music
Flowing through my head
So rare
I'm walking on air
Melody of love
Sing that song for me yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
Oh take me away
One lonely night
You up and dance into my dreams
Baby you set my heart on fire
So i've been burning
Burning ever since yeah
Suddenly
Strings began
I hear the melody again and again
The sounds of trumpets
Flowing through my head
So rare i'm walking on air
Melody of love
Sing that song for me yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
Oh take me away
Melody of love
Oh set me free yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
Oh take me away
Oh melody
Oh melody
I can really feel it
You can feel it, too
Oh melody
Oh melody
Melody of love
Sing that song for me yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
Oh take me away
Melody of love
Oh set me free yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
Oh take me away
