Numberless
A numberless action committed to the front
Apologized for the upkeep of thousands;
My hedge is knowledge and my valley
Speaks to me in ways of the men who gain.
I compose bridges to other hearts,
Acting like a minder or resentment
In the folds of paper, in them to this day.
May an innumerable display be concocted
To approach and dismay.
The lands of my own are resented
By the arrivals of this day called today.

Did You Read The Morning Paper
(Nickolas Ashford/Valerie Simpson/R. Monica)
Did you read the morning paper
Did you see the front headline
Did you read the morning paper
Baby let me lend you mine
There on the front page was a picture
Of a crowd as they watched a parade passing by
And through the haze of last nights sleep
Something familiar caught my eye
There was a couple looking so much in love, yes
They had a front line view
And as I pulled the paper closer
I realized standing next to her it was you
Did you read the morning paper
Did you see the front headline
Did you read the morning paper
Baby let me lend you mine
Now I know why you've been working late each night
And no longer have desire to ever hold me tight
And your busy, busy schedule was all a lie
Oh, even the dream with a bonus, oh just another alibi
Did you read the morning paper
Did you see the front headline
Did you read the morning paper
Baby let me lend you mine
Did you get the news today
Did you read the morning paper
Isn't the picture very clear
Where do we go from here
Did you read the morning paper
Did you see the front headlines
Did you read the morning paper
Baby let me lend you mine
Oh, what now
Did you read the morning paper
Did you get the news today

School
Oh school, what is it?
The place that we go and acquire knowledge;
Oh school, what is it?
The place that we can easily gain dondoorlogy;
So boys and girls come out an d lets go to school.
The time is ripe to gain some knowledge,
The time is right to gain some wisdom,
The time is now to gain some understanding;
Forgetting that we learn to read and write first.
Oh school, what is it?
The knowledge gained to make us great one day!
Today, i ma what i am after schooling.
You may out me into another category but,
I am what i am today as a writer.

I cease to
I cease to be called a human
If i act as nuisance for man and woman
I shall be called infidel
As it is not ideal
What do I search for?
Simple hatred uncalled for
Bloodbath and gain for silly cause
I wish and pray for such life to pause
I push aside friends and foes
Who cares for where the love definition goes?
It may come and go in its own way
I must have full answer and sway
I do not want to be friendly
I do not want to help even needy
I want my own way to be steered
I shall be at their heart mostly feared
I should be most hated
With devils to be equated
Kith and keen fully alienated
All should board on the the ship likely to be ill fated
Will this approach help in future?
Will I be taking it for sure?
We are in way acting different today
We crossing each others way

If I Was Here To Impress
Your approach and style,
Seems to have had its benefits...
And advantages.
'I know.
And I find that remarkable.
To sit back and see my influence,
All over the place.
Especially copied by those,
Who didn't know the difference...
Between poetic verse and definition.
Or the rhyming done within prose.'
How do you feel about that?
'My track record speaks for itself.
And besides...
If I was here to impress,
I'd be the first to address that in forums.
To compose with a showing,
The deepness of my sincerity.
To those convinced I offer originality.
And not plagiarized imaginations,
To gain notoriety.'

Apparently They Are Not Aware Of This
First of all,
I did not call her a bull.
I called her a cow.
With bullish ways.
Who is this...
Quoting me out of context?
The last time it was claimed,
I called someone an imbecile.
When clearly I had called 'him'...
An idiot.
Who is this doing the misquoting?
'Who knows.'
Whoever it is has spent too much time,
Trying to find ways to undermine my character.
To gain favor.
'Maybe there is a popularity contest.
And you've been submitted by someone,
In a secret ballot or something.'
And I have done my very best,
To smooth over those rough edges.
Only I have perfected...
To my knowledge,
A backing myself up against a brick wall,
With a jumping over it.
To land tall and walk on my feet.
And that was difficult.
The pain in my legs?
Agonizing.
Since then...
I've learned how to charm.
I've discovered that more conducive to do,
Than inflicting my own pain.
'Apparently they are not aware of this.'

Objectivity
Because I had no 'things'
To display to gain your respect.
For years you disrespected me.
And taunted my efforts,
As less than best.
Today your 'things' are gone.
And you are hanging onto pretense.
I never valued the playing of charade,
In masquerade.
And now you say I cling onto a bitterness.
Because of your dismay? ? ?
I will say your 'objectivity'
Has left you crazed!
THAT I will say.
Don't you think it odd,
The attention to me you give.
I think you are riduculous.
Since the happiness I live,
Is priceless.
And you are not due a single thought.

You, to whom I am myself
O You Who Are - the formless, nameless One,
more real than all forms and names can speak:
You for whom we seek to find a name
and yet who has no name, who needs no name;
You for whom we seek to shape a form
and yet who has no form, who needs no form;
Yet whom we name in every name we speak,
and whom we see in every form we seek:
is there some name bestowed for nameless name,
a form imagined for a formless form,
by which all hearts today that seek themselves
may shape their search as if for One unknown?
may kneel in front of their own golden throne?
Should we approach you as the Lord of Hearts,
who’s spoken of in heartfelt praise of glorious human brilliance,
endeavour, art, achievement and discovery;
the Lord who gave us hearts to know we love?
Should we approach you as the Lord of Self,
whom we all know when we relax, become
more our known self, in silence, rest, or company
that sparkles round a table built of happiness?
Should we approach you as the Lord of Consciousness
in whom we live and move, and be; yet never see
for you’re the seeing in ourself; to whom we wake
and know, and stand securely, watching all?
I ask You for the sound of some new yet eternal name;
that sound by which all quickly know themself
and talk once more from hearts forever free,
of what we are, and know, and love to be.

Can’t think of anything to say today
Can’t think of anything to do
Can’t think of anything to play today
Minds gone blank

Listening to my hair grow

And I look towards you
For an inspiration or a word or two
I try but I find
Every road only leads me back to these lines

One Of These Days
One of these days Ive got to get things right
Im gonna do my business in th daylight
One of these days you know Ive got to get things right
Im gonna do my business out in the broad daylight
One of these days Ive got to get things straight
Im gonna stop acting like a reprobate
One of these days you know Ive got to get things straight
Im gonna stop staying out late
And acting like a reprobate
One of these days Ive got to get in step
It wont be long fore Ill be needin help
One of these days you know Ive got to get in step
The way Im going baby Ill be needin help
One of these days Ive got to go back home
Sit out on my front porch and compose a poem

Committed
committed! !
me and my boyfriend have made a pact
we are committed and thats the fact
he will not screw any other women apart from me
and i will not seduce anyone else apart from him
committed! !
we will be a heathy twosome or so it seems
with this thought in our mind our relationship will gleam
yes sir we are a committed bunch
the world will sing praises of our relationship
the world will stand and admire our friendship
committed! !
he will screw me till his hearts content
as i behind his back will screw all his friends
he on the other hand will bang all my friends
yes sir we are a committed and our relationship is as firm as steel
committed! ! !
it's a word not to be taken lightly
it's the bed rock of all relationships strong and mighty
yes indeed we are committed
he can't screw anyone and i ca'nt be promiscious it's not permitted
we are so so very committed
committed! !
yes sir committed indeed
we are the two us sailin merreyly in our ship
when he is angry with me he does the maid
when i am upset with him i get laid
committed! !
we are thinck as thives
till his money runs out and i have fullfilled all my needs
oh sir we are so so so very committed....................

Like No Other Day I Ever Knew
Today I find I am missing you,
Like no other day I ever knew.
I don't even wish to memorize,
All the lines and times...
I apologized,
No.
Today I find that I am missing you.
And all the things together we've been through.
What I miss most is your quick smile.
And holding hands as we walked for miles...
And,
Today I find I am missing you,
Like no other day I ever knew.
I miss the kissing and the innocence.
Then we married and it ended in bitterness.
Today I find I am missing you,
Like no other day I ever knew.
I don't even wish to memorize,
All the lines and times...
I apologized,
No.
I want to keep this feeling real.
Hoping one day you will find me true.

The Moment I See Your Face
i can steal some more gazes
beside you
i will not be bored in this trip
sliding across the foamy seas
crossing longer bridges
hopping from one island to another
seeing old ancestral houses
made of hardwood
recalling the ormoc disasters
with thousands dead
floating bloating on the river
i see your face again
i have always seen them all over again
i am alive again
i should have been dead years ago
without you
i hold your hand
you look at me
there are no words
on these wanderings
these travels
of thoughts and cares
inside our hearts
the tourist guide speaks
'this is the house he made for her
the shrine and these walls
to protect her from harm'
we are holding each others arms
as we listen
i do not think of walls
neither will i in the future
build them for you
your face is beside mine
the camera clicks
and another picture is taken
now we shall go to another room
the tour guide speaks again

Action
I'm not so young anymore
And I'm not so dumb anymore
If you've seen what I've seen
Then you'd understand what I mean
So don't say you're gonna call me if you're not
And don't say you're gonna love me a lot
And don't stell me that you think I'm really hot
If you want me for your girlfriend
Action speaks louder than words
Let's see what you can do
See if you are coming through
Before I'm giving in to attraction
I gotta check out the action
I wonder if you're equipped
And if you can't deliver the time
Then I'm gonna make you mine
Babe I won't complain if you're a little rough
But I will if you are not man enough
Gonna find out tonight if you're just a bluff
(If you want me for your girlfriend)
Action speaks louder than words
Let's see what you can do
See if you are coming through
Before I'm giving in to attraction
I gotta check out the action
A C T I O N
Action
If you want me for your girlfriend
Babe I won't complain if you're a little rough
But I will if you are not man enough
Action speaks louder than words
Let's see what you can do
See if you are coming through
Before I'm giving in to attraction
I gotta check out the action
Action speaks louder than words
Let's see what you can do
See if you are coming through
Before I'm giving in to attraction
I gotta check out the action
Action speaks louder than words
Let's see what you can do
See if you are coming through
Before I'm giving in to attraction
I gotta check out the action

Knowledge is not frog in well
Frog in well defined as knowledge confined,
Come out of it with knowledge refined,
May be areas used so compact and defined,
Inherent possession is must …………………
Knowledge or power to spread over horizon
Frequent debates, contacts taking place in zone
In depth study and answer with solid reasons,
Surely to find result as that of seasons,
When Sun rays emerge and shine in sky,
Darkness disappears and still no one ask why?
Spread of knowledge end misery and plight,
Go ahead and cruise with direction and flight,
We may remain aloof and total in disarray,
Supremacy to gain with permanent sway,
Never yield to blackmail and not to give away,
Should make it with easy access and way?
Can Sun be blanketed or hidden with shade?
Will swords be useless in front of spade?
Knowledge is like power so will emerge and surface,
May be more accurate as heat from furnace,
Deep buried inside with innumerable secrets,
Inside vision may understand and interpret,
Efforts may be needed to understand it more,
Secrets may be unveiled and result come to fore,
Nature never confines or secrets hide,
You may need vision with angle wide,
Always do part with but not with any side,
Water waves move on with calm or tide,
Why mountain volcano erupts and cause land to slide?
Suggest more open ways to think and decide,
Power is force which can't be retained,
Prisoner to be released if wrongly detained,
Knowledge is power and has to be realized,
Widespread of area has to be materialized,
To die with the secrets does not serve purpose,
Even kings abdicate when fear sudden depose

A Billion Paper Hearts
A Billion Paper Hearts
Bristling in the wind
Many with similar folds
All with different creases
Whose course is decided by
The wind that allows them to fly.
Yet once this wind is sound
The hearts will hit the ground
With many a heart-beat
Wishing they had never been found.

Nothing At All In the Paper Today
Nothing at all in the paper today!
Only a murder somewhere or other;
A girl who has put her child away,
Not being a wife as well as a mother;
Or a drunken husband beating a wife,
With the neighbors lying awake to listen,
Scarce aware he has taken a life,
Till in at the window the dawn rays glisten.
But that is all in the regular way--
There's nothing at all in the paper today.
Nothing at all in the paper today!
To be sure, there's a woman died of starvation,
Fell down in the street, as so many may
In this very prosperous Christian nation;
Or two young girls, with some inward grief
Maddened, have plunged into the inky waters;
Or father has learnt that his son's a thief,
Or mother been robbed of one of her daughters.
Things that occur in their regular way--
There's nothing at all in the paper today.
There's nothing at all in the paper today,
Unless you care about things in the city--
How great rich rogues for their crimes must pay
(Though all gentility cries out, 'Pity!')
Like the meanest shop-boy that robs a till.
There's a case today, if I'm not forgetting,
The lad only 'borrowed'--as such lads will--
To pay some money he lost in betting;
But there's nothing in this that's out of the way--
There's nothing at all in the paper today!
Nothing at all in the paper today
But the births and bankruptcies, deaths and marriages,
But life's events in the old survey
With Virtue begging, and Vice in carriages;
And kindly hearts under ermine gowns,
And wicked breasts under hodden gray;
For goodness belongs not only to clowns,
And o'er others than lords does sin bear sway.
But what do I read? 'Drowned! wrecked!' Did I say
There was nothing at all in the paper today?

Swagger
With a walk of pride,
And heads held high.
Displaying a confidence seen and undenied.
Some come to think of this still as arrogance.
Anyone appearing dignified and proud,
With an identity that speaks out loud...
And arrogance is applied to this stride that clouds,
Today's definition
Swagger is what that is called today.
In my day...
In times that seem so far away.
To act as if one was a foolish clown...
Was one who was down to Earth.
And had been taught this was acceptable,
With a teaching of this from one's birth.
Being a fool was preferred behavior.
In cycles where dysfunctions were revered.
Many times I was told I wasn't a bag of chips.
But easily spotted as a dim-witted dip!
To display one's intelligence...
Was for some an embarrassment.
Today...
Those 'dips' done by the ones with wit,
Appear to have a lot of emulated swagger.
With a hip-hop that raps and rocks!
