You, to whom I am myself
O You Who Are - the formless, nameless One,
more real than all forms and names can speak:
You for whom we seek to find a name
and yet who has no name, who needs no name;
You for whom we seek to shape a form
and yet who has no form, who needs no form;
Yet whom we name in every name we speak,
and whom we see in every form we seek:
is there some name bestowed for nameless name,
a form imagined for a formless form,
by which all hearts today that seek themselves
may shape their search as if for One unknown?
may kneel in front of their own golden throne?
Should we approach you as the Lord of Hearts,
who’s spoken of in heartfelt praise of glorious human brilliance,
endeavour, art, achievement and discovery;
the Lord who gave us hearts to know we love?
Should we approach you as the Lord of Self,
whom we all know when we relax, become
more our known self, in silence, rest, or company
that sparkles round a table built of happiness?
Should we approach you as the Lord of Consciousness
in whom we live and move, and be; yet never see
for you’re the seeing in ourself; to whom we wake
and know, and stand securely, watching all?
I ask You for the sound of some new yet eternal name;
that sound by which all quickly know themself
and talk once more from hearts forever free,
of what we are, and know, and love to be.

The War
There is a sound of thunder afar,
Storm in the south that darkens the day,
Storm of battle and thunder of war,
Well, if it do not roll our way.
Form! form! Riflemen form!
Ready, be ready to meet the storm!
Riflemen, riflemen, riflemen form!
Be not deaf to the sound that warns!
Be not gull'd by a despot's plea!
Are figs of thistles or grapes of thorns?
How should a despot set men free?
Form! form! Riflemen form!
Ready, be ready to meet the storm!
Riflemen, riflemen, riflemen form!
Let your Reforms for a moment go,
Look to your butts and make good aims.
Better a rotten borough or so,
Than a rotten fleet or a city of flames!
Form! form! Riflemen form!
Ready, be ready to meet the storm!
Riflemen, riflemen, riflemen form!
Form, be ready to do or die!
Form in freedom's name and the Queen's!
True, that we have a faithful ally,
But only the devil knows what he means!
Form! form! Riflemen form!
Ready, be ready to meet the storm!
Riflemen, riflemen, riflemen form!

Hearts Of Men
The saintly person next to me is as good as silk and shadows,
He risks no darkness, but light he fed into the hearts of men.
My bedroom houses the knight of supreme cleverness,
His shrewdness is the highest form bred in the hearts of men.
Loathing the master of travel will guarantee no travel of right,
So then in this journey of life the work lead, from the hearts of men.
Misters and madames suggest instead the love to flow and fold
Into many garments, ready for the Lord to be the Head, verily from the hearts of men.
The heart shall speak so lovingly to the sword and inquire
What will investigate the whole ritual ahead of the hearts of men.
One fool is not two, or two be three, justice speaks wonders
When served, for the wrong judgements misled, not in the hearts of men.
My own leader is full of thanks for the Lord On His Throne,
Let him support us and our very bodies, to embed in the hearts of men.

Seek The Lord
Friend, if you seek to understand, you will know The Son of Man.
If you search with all your heart, Christ will guide you at the start.
Christ will give you eyes to see, that shall help your heart believe.
You will see Him throughout the day, as He leads you all the way.
The Lord is on the written page, and is read by men of every age.
He is the Living Word of God, and He will guide you with His rod.
Friend, if you seek The Lord above, He will fill you with His Love.
With His love He gives a peace, along the way that will not cease.
And in The Lord you can depend, He wants to be to you, a friend.
If you seek to find Him friend, He shall lead you to a glorious end.
On the cross He did His part, to change your mind and your heart.
Friend, now the rest is up to you, for Jesus did what He had to do.
Seek Christ in the written Word, to confirm what you have heard.
Friend, if you truly seek The Lord, your effort shall not be ignored.
For your eyes will be opened to, everything God has done for you.
The Lord’s promises you will see, are good through all of Eternity.
Seek Him while He can be found, and you will be on solid ground.
Seeking will lead you to believe, then Jesus Christ you will receive.
And your search for The Lord, will reap for you an Eternal Reward.
For all who do seek Jesus Christ, receive through faith Eternal Life.
The Human Heart II (From The Holy Bible)
Pray in your heart and rejoice in the LORD
God hardens hearts and melts them just like snow;
Return to God with all your hearts contrite;
The LORD looks at your heart and knows your thoughts!
God searches hearts and touches them for good;
All that is in your heart is known to God!
As Saul left Samuel's place, God changed his heart;
Serve the LORD faithfully with all your heart.
‘I am with you, heart and soul, ' says the Lord;
How wicked is the human heart at times!
Take heart again and let no fear seize it;
God is the one who knows each human heart.
The Lord discerns the human heart too well;
All turn your hearts to Him in obedience,
And live by his decrees and his commands;
Be glad in heart for good things God has done.
God knows your heart's desires before you;
God had put his wisdom in Solomon's heart;
He sees the integrity of your heart;
Let hearts of those who seek the lord, rejoice!
God tests the heart and understands secrets;
God forgives when you repent from your heart;
Set your heart in seeking God all your life;
Let pride not fill your heart and bring God's wrath!
God puts both fear and courage in man's heart;
Lay up his words upon your heart with care;
Conceal no sin nor hide your guilt in heart;
God knows the cravings of the human heart!
Never harbor malice against others;
Afill your heart with joy as it pounds, leaps;
Praise God with all your heart and render thanks;
Love the Lord Almighty God with your heart!

The Children Of The Lord
From the beginning, it was decreed
That love in itself does not create life.
For love, even in its own form of life,
Has no power to create anything new.
Love is not God, but God is love.
It is He alone who brings forth life.
The human soul is bonded to its body.
From the creation of life, it is eternal.
Even after death, the soul goes on.
It is no light thing for consideration.
We do our part and the Lord does His.
Not all are granted an inheritance.
Even the righteous have no guarantee.
Even the redeemed have no certainty.
But to those who receive a child,
God looks upon the hearts of men and women,
Knowing the future as well as the past.
To Him, no secrets are Hid from His eyes.
Blessed are the ones who find His favour,
Yet do not boast and offend others.
Rejoice in your inheritance from the Lord.
It is your portion, now and for eternity.
Yet know this, love is patient...
A child is a fragile thing and slow to learn.
To teach a child is a great honour.
To love a child is a noble joy.
Be proud only in God's teachings.
They were not given in vain,
Nor without the sacrifice of Christ.
Prepare each child for the journey of life.
For what lies ahead is no easy path.
Money is a small gift compared to time.
Pity the child who has money but little love.
The children of the Lord learn to pray.
May they bring healing to their parents' hearts.
May they honour them and respect them also.
May they help around the happy home.
For what is love but a helping hand?
And what is love without a faithful spirit?
The Lord of Heaven knows us deeply.
His patience and longsuffering seek perfection.
Search yourselves to see the faults within.
Strive not for a better world, but a better you.
For the Lord created children for His glory.
May they sing the holy hymns and praise Him.
Teach them of the Teacher, Jesus, the Son of God...

Love In It's Greatest Form
The Lord speaks
Without a sound ever heard
He touches our live's
While nothing is ever felt
He's in our presents
But never seen
He walks with us
Never casting a shadow
On the brightest of days
A friend who never walks away
Even when we do
Oh how can He do these things
For He lives within our hearts
For he never stops loving us
For He is LOVE
In it's greatest form

With All My Heart, God, Let Me… (A Song)
With all my heart, God, let me praise you;
With all my heart, God, let me thank you;
With all my heart, God, let me serve you;
With all my heart, God, let me love you.
With all my heart, God, let me seek you;
With all my heart, God, let me trust you;
With all my heart, God, let me call you;
With all my heart, God, let me reach you.
With all my heart, God, let me rejoice;
With all my heart, God, let me obey;
With all my heart, God, let me repent;
With all my heart, God, let me be glad.
With all my heart, God, let me be pure;
With all my heart, God, let me await;
With all my heart, God, let me sing songs;
With all my heart, God, let me not sin.
With all my heart, let me abide in Him;
With all my heart, let me be righteous;
With all my heart, let me not go astray;
With all my heart, let me keep your Words.
God knows all secrets of the human heart;
He forms all hearts and considers all that they do;
The Lord moves hearts of Kings to make decrees;
Only fools say in hearts, ‘There is no God! '

Sonnet 11
is it any wonder i have no words to tell
how my heart yearns in absence of you?
the night revives this constant hell-
no vision replaces dark with bright view,
prefiguring the visitation of your form
in sacred majesty, transfiguring night
in darkened soul to that majesty. in turn,
unformed dark, unchanged by celestial Light
formless dark remains, unilluminated by art.
your timeless form, unsculpted by love's pencil,
lends no body to the unformed in my heart.
no form heart forms new, nor does it chisel.
thus your form, unchiselled in my inner eye,
and your heart, my inner sense can't spy.

I Need To Seek His Face
I do need The Lord all of the time, not just when things fall apart,
I need Him in His rightful place, right on the throne of my heart.
For when things go awry, I known immediately to Him I can turn,
But seeking His face all the time is something I still need to learn.
Sometimes when things are going well, I forget He's still by my side,
And I know that if He was in my place, from me He sure wouldn't hide.
Sometimes when I approach a task that seems to be so commonplace,
I say to myself I've been here before and then I don't seek His face.
There are times when my old heart of stone says do this on your own,
These are the times when my drive alone pushes Christ off the throne.
Trust in The Lord with all your heart not on your own understanding,
In my life however this verse is often left out of my daily planning.
Acknowledge Him in all you say and do and He will direct your path,
And not to acknowledge The Lord, may bring an unpleasant aftermath.
As a child of God I can plan my course, but He directs every step,
He keeps me within the sound of His breath, as in His hand I'm kept.
So the time of day to first seek The Lord is right at the very start,
And since He will never depart, I need Him on the throne of my heart.
So I need to obey without asking why before my plans again go awry,
For God promised to direct my path and He is not a man who can lie.

Love as self: self as love
We do not have to seek for love
nor fear it ever go:
but simply, rest within ourself;
then, love perforce must flow:
for who’s the sweetest company,
as parent, sister, brother?
Those restful ones, always themself;
as one who knows no other..

[This came after watching ‘The Big Sing’:
every seat in the Albert Hall taken
by those singing their hearts out
to fine words; while simultaneously and
in unsought parallel, love flowed..]

A Sparrow's Thoughts.... (Number Six)
you can send the lie in the form
of the unemployment check, in the
form of food stamps, in the form
of Medicaid, in the form of new
policies, in the form of charity...
but the truth is you dont give a damn
until you are willing to share all
you have with fairness, until you're
willing to put your shoulders to the
load, until you're willing to get
involved in the work of equality!

Consciousness
Mass and energy is one and the same.
On conversion, they interchange forms.
No gain or no loss is their total sum.
Consciousness runs through them over time.
Water is the essence and consciousness
That runs through ice, steam, mist, dues, fog and frost.
Life energy is the sole consciousness
That runs through plants, animals and humans.
The Universe is constantly evolving.
Living organisms are evolving from the earth
And dissolve into the earth over time.
The consciousness runs through uncut.
Adults give birth to new ones and will die.
The new ones grow to adults and give births.
The adult protrudes its mass and energy
While it itself dissolves into the earth.
Formless consciousness takes variant forms,
Which are, however, impermanent.
Body, senses and mind make human form.
Human form is made of fluent energy.
The energy is undying and unborn.
The life energy manifest in forms
Dies not when the form disintegrates
And only extends when new one develops.

Conversations With Hune
who names the flower a flower,
and the weed a weed?
and are not names
cardboard boxes
meant for the fire?
from the womb of darkness,
the sun reborn again and again...
each time with different faces,
different fingers, different hands...
or perhaps we see with different eyes!
do we speak the truth?
or doth the truth speak us?
perhaps 'we' are an illusion,
and there be only truth.
or perhaps truth is an illusion...
and we are only what we are...
what we are...
nameless particles of namelessness...
forms of the formless,
formless by nature.
words spoken by word,
or not spoken at all...
leaves fallen from the tree,
nests of straw left empty...
the sound one wing makes without the other,
the way air cries beaten by wings...
the sound the tree makes
when cut through by the saw...
the scream as it falls!

I Need To Lean On You
Lord I need to lean upon you, to do those things only you can do,
As you move on the hearts of man, with ways only your Spirit can,
Moving upon a troubled heart, beyond all words I’m able to impart,
Healing hurts I cannot reach, beyond those words I tend to preach.
I must view a hopeless situation, through the Words of Revelation,
Seeing in stories of the past, hope that through all times shall last,
Men such as Daniel and Joseph too, who in all trials relied on you,
And that hope, I lean upon today, when darker trials come my way.
Even in that toughest situation, I wait on The Lord of my Salvation,
To deliver me, when trials come, through the Power of God’s Son,
Who secures for His own victory, when trials come to you and me,
With the promise of Eternal Life, He helps us through earthly strife.
It has always been God alone, who sends victory from His Throne,
As men are saved to live for Him, in a world that is plagued by sin,
For it is Christ who shelters us, our eternal fortress in who we trust,
Strengthening us in times of need, when His Truth we truly to heed.
Lord, in quietness I must be still, while I seek out your Perfect Will,
In the situation which I face today, in God’s time and in God’s way,
Not questioning God, how or why, but, reflecting on days gone by,
Recalling with heartfelt praise, how He got me through darker days.

One of the aspects of form that I have been very interested in is stasis - the concept of form which is not so directional in time, not so much climactic form, but rather form which allows time, to stand still.

Alphabet Spaces
In my mind rambles
ideas which seek to unscramble
and grant me crystal clear consistency
but the more I try to wrangle
ideas about Physics and Religion
the more they metamorphosize
into same and similar.
The more I learn about anything
the less I know about the whole
of any and all disciplines;
so I succumb to debates about
T's and I's
while forgetting my alphabet.
For example, if I take my own name
and examine it minutely,
space and letter
nano-space by nano-space
I cannot ever
see a whole word or letter.
Therefore, I come away nameless and confused.
So if I wish to learn the whole
of any disciple or subject-area
I have learned
best not to get too smart about
the spaces between the alphabets.
Yet, and this my conundrum, no letter
is ever apparent
unless there are spaces between Alpha and Omega.
So, too, music is a relationship between the sound and the silences-
too much music or sound is ultimately just noise or silence.
So in my mind rambles all these inconsistencies-
what about yours?
So we have the letters of an alphabet, and the spaces in between the letters
which are necessary to understand the words they form and from these empty spaces in between, much like silence and sound form music.
From this relationship we form the words and ultimately sentences, but note sentences alone do not form coherent paragraphs or pages for that matter and ultimately a book.
So what is the moral here? Pay attention to the background as well as the foreground, the seen and unseen since only from these relationships can we glean, true meaning:
too much concentration on the latter, and we miss the meaning embedded in the former.
True creativity means we are versatile in both and it is also the perfect metaphor for the differences and similarities between Science and Religion.

Lovers Prayer
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Just wanna be with my love tonight
I dont want no jive artists calling me on the telephone
Dont wanna watch the carson show all alone
I just wanna lay back, take my rest
With the one I loves head resting on my chest
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Just wanna be with my love tonight
And I dont want my best friends even coming round
cos if they do I might put em down
Carsons over and the lights way down low
And all I got, I got a heart full of soul
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
I said, lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
I said, lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Just wanna be with my love tonight
And its a lovers prayer, oh yes it is
Takes a little time, takes a little care, yeah, yeah, yeah
And when it gets way on in the midnight hour
I just wanna play my guitar
I just wanna see you smile, touch your face
Be with you in my own place
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
I said, lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Lord, lord, lord, lord, lord
Just wanna be with my love tonight
Just wanna be with my love tonight
Just wanna be with my love tonight

From Thoughts To Thankfulness
Lifting all thoughts up to our Lord, this while our God is implored,
With one’s question or request, while we go through a trial or test,
In the times when we are weak, The Lord God we can always seek,
Lifting a thought or even a care, as we speak to our God in prayer.
Lifting thoughts night and day, up to The One, who molds the clay,
The Heavenly Potter on the throne, molding the lives of all His own,
He won’t change how He molded us, but, can help us with our trust,
Resting in the palm of His hand, trusting when we don’t understand,
God’s hands do more than mold, while the Believer’s life, He holds,
God, the One who knows us best, sustains us in each trial and test,
The Lord never leaves us all alone, tending to His, from His Throne,
Through His Mercy and His Power, all as God listens, hour by hour.
Soon our thoughts turn to praise, as concerns we continue to raise,
Anything that we’re thinking of, to the Lord God, who reigns above,
Then God speaks, to you and me, helping our weary hearts to see,
That God alone, is still in the lead, guiding us, through all our need.
Thankfulness then fills our heart, for we know Christ will not depart,
Walking with us right by our side, while in His Truth believers abide,
As His Spirit helps us not to roam, while leading us eternally home,
When we will be in that place, to speak with our Lord, face to face.

Guiding Light
the road is long, and the road is tough
but we have not traveled it enough.
we do not know what lurks in the dark corners
or behind every shadow.
but our faith and love is our guiding light.
and will always shine bright.
this light will be like a lighthouse beacon
leading you home, and knowing
you'll never be alone.
this guiding light not only shines in our hearts and minds
but will last for all of time.
this is the light of the LORD above,
who always gives his guiding love.
if you guide your heart in the right direction
it will always seek perfection.
look around and you will see
that all nations are longing to be free.
just like a ship stranded at sea
this light is there for you and me.
the mysteries to life we must unravel
for it's a long hard road that we must travel.
so seek the lord and you will find
that true love will unwind.

Lord, I give you all my praise. (To the tune of down at the cross)
O Lord, My God, I give you all my praise
You have cared for me all my days
You have comfort and strengthen me
Lord, I give you all my praise.
Yes, God has been good to me.
God has been so good to me.
Yes, God has been good to me.
Lord, I give you all my praise.
O’ Lord, My God, to you I lift my hand
You will bless me right where I stand
You will guide me along the way
Lord, I give you all my praise.
Yes, God has been good to me.
God has been so good to me.
Yes God has been good to me.
Lord, I give you all my praise.
O Lord My God to you I sing my praise
I surrender and beg for your grace
Please O’ Lord, forgive all my sins.
Lord, I give you all my praise.
Yes, God has been good to me.
God has been so good to me.
Yes God has been good to me.
Lord, I give you all my praise.
O Lord, my God I need your help today
Please send some aid quickly my way
Problems are so bad I can hardly pray
Lord, I give you all my praise.
Yes, God has been good to me.
God has been so good to me.
Yes, God has been good to me.
Lord, I give you all my praise.
O Lord, My God, thanks for all you have done
You have empowered me to overcome
Now, I can claim my battle as won
Lord, I give you all my praise.
Yes God has been good to me.
God has been so good me.
Yes God has been good to me.
Lord, I give you all my praise.
