A Cow Amid The Butchers
Labour of the day
Made me exhausted,
Rocked into the valley of sleep,
The world of strange happenings,
And I beheld an astonishing object:
A cow, enormous like a mountain,
Around her was a huge gathering
Of men and women, all Lilliputians.
They had sharp instruments,
Knives, axes, choppers, and blades,
Mulberry-baskets, bags of polythene.
From peon to prince,
All working and ruling figures
Of the land were busy in chopping the cow,
And the men in uniforms were having
Their own legitimate shares.
A man with crowned shoulders
And medals on the chest,
Hollered his men to expedite the activity.
A man wearing crown,
Had positioned a ladder,
To reach the belly for boneless meat,
Two stout bald men seemingly brothers,
Supported from both of the sides
Each length of the ladder;
But a mystery was working behind,
The wounds cuts gave healed up instantly.
Some men and women wearing torn clothes
With thin limbs, legs and bony faces
Were waiting for their own turn.
I too had an axe to cut asunder the chops,
But her neck was too high to reach,
And I slobbered with un-slaked desire.
When I abased in front of the Mountain-cow,
She lowered her head in affectionate mode,
As if offering her whole being,
Feeling pity on my miserable plight.
When I looked upwards,
I was speechless on finding a word,
Written in the margin of her forehead,
Painted green and white,
With a crescent and a star,
The word inscribed was ‘Pakistan’.

Prince Of Orange
Look at these hands
Spokes of the sun God delay you, spray you
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
Brass robinettes
Trumpet and drums for the taking, baking
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
All the food he steals is all right
Far the tall and gentle poplar
Causing fanfare to those listening
Now
Drape round your head
Mischief and secrets in green kelt, all hell
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die.
Look at these lands (--- --- ---)
Youll get no books for your dinner
Sinner
Prince of orange, climb the ladder
Prince of orange will die

The Whole Of The Moon
I pictured a rainbow
You held in your hands
I had flashes
But you saw then plan
I wondered out in the world for years
While you just stayed in your room
I saw the crescent
You saw the whole of the moon!
The whole of the moon!
You were there at the turnstiles
With the wind at your heels
You stretched for the stars
And you know how it feels
To reach too high
Too far
Too soon
You saw the whole of the moon!
I was grounded
While you filled the skies
I was dumbfounded by truths
You cut through lies
I saw the rain-dirty valley
You saw brigadoon
I saw the crescent
You saw the whole of the moon!
I spoke about wings
You just flew
I wondered, I guessed, and I tried
You just knew
I sighed
But you swooned
I saw the crescent
You saw the whole of the moon!
The whole of the moon!
With a torch in your pocket
And the wind at your heels
You climbed on the ladder
And you know how it feels
To reach too high
Too far
Too soon
You saw the whole of the moon!
The whole of the moon!
Unicorns and cannonballs,
Palaces and piers,
Trumpets, towers, and tenemets,
Wide oceans full of tears,
Flag, rags, ferry boats,
Scimitars and scarves,
Every precious dream and vision
Underneath the stars
You climbed on the ladder
With the wind in your sails
You came like a comet
Blazing your trail
Too high
Too far
Too soon
You saw the whole of the moon!

Working On The Highway
Friday nights pay night guys fresh out of work
Talking about the weekend scrubbing off the dirt
Some heading home to their families some looking to get hurt
Some going down to stovell wearing trouble on their shirts
I work for the county out on 95
All day I hold a red flag and watch the traffic pass me by
In my head I keep a picture of a pretty little miss
Someday mister Im gonna lead a better life than this
Working on the highway laying down the blacktop
Working on the highway all day long I dont stop
Working on the highway blasting through the bedrock
Working on the highway, working on the highway
I met her at a dance down at the union hall
She was standing with her brothers back up against the wall
Sometimes wed go walking down the union tracks
One day I looked straight at her and she looked straight back
Working on the highway...
I saved up my money and I put it all away
I went to see her daddy but we didnt have much to say
Son cant you see that shes just a little girl
She dont know nothing about this cruel cruel world
We lit out down to florida we got along all right
One day her brothers came and got her and they took me in a black and white
The prosecutor kept the promise that he made on that day
And the judge got mad and he put me straight away
I wake up every morning to the work bell clang
Me and the warden go swinging on the charlotte county road gang
Working on the highway...

Ladder To The Sun
From the very start
Came Earth parted
Broke up into pieces and
I was sure I could have missed it
It could risked it
But I put myself into your hands
Cause you're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
You're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
I can run my courses
Opposing forces
Then I...
If you want me you can have me
Oh take me, oh baby grab me
Cause if you want me then you can have me
Cause you're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
You're not just anyone
You're a ladder to the sun
you cannot run
I had it all and I risked it
I had it all and I risked it all
And I risked it all
And I risked it all
A ladder to the
A Ladder to the sun
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
And I risked it all
A ladder to the
A ladder to the sun
And I risked it all
I risked it all
I had it all
I risked it all
A ladder to the sun

Working Man's Wage
(wynn varble/leslie satcher)
I've seen mornings when a thousand bales of hay
Looked like a mountain to a boy my age
And i've seen my daddy in that hot southern sun
Move those mountains one by one
And i've seen that same man come home from the mill
Pull forty hours for a hundred-dollar bill
I've watched him struggle and i've watched him age
Raising a family on a working man's wage
I grew up on a working man's wage
Blood, sweat and tears on every dollar he made
For the little he earned there was so much he gave
And i hope i am worthy of a working man's wage
I pick this guitar six nights a week
Daddy can't believe they're paying me
It would be so easy to let it go to my head
But there's just one thing that i can't forget
I grew up on a working man's wage
Blood, sweat and tears on every dollar he made
For the little he earned there was so much he gave
And i hope i am worthy, i hope i am worthy
Of a working man's wage
I've seen mornings when a thousand bales of hay
Looked like a mountain to a boy my age

Day for you (3)
may the grey arms of the morn'
turn into life for a day
may silver meet you just there
where your chest is hollow bare
feeling like a ladder on a stair
sturdy ladder legs standing stronger
on the grey arms of early morning
silver legs staring seeing
seven doves' innocent love
in grey arms of the dawning
Game of Golf
Golf is my brothers passion, my sister-in laws as well
From where l'm standing Oh! my word it looks like a game from hell
Legs astride back is bent and the arms down all stretched out
Now it's time to hit the ball and give it one good clout
Then they do the walking and try to find the ball
If it's in the right spot then their walking tall
Will they reach the 18th hole without getting in the rough
Will it pour with rain until, they say we've had enough
Will one beat the other, will it end in tears
But then l guess if it gets that bad, they'll down a good few beers
Is it really worth though bending, stretching, hitting
No l'm sorry not for me, l'd rather just be sitting
I guess they'll go on playing, well the fresh air does them good
l'm not so sure about the rest of it, l do not think l could
Walk around in the rain, hitting putting sighing
Little white balls in the air, god, they go a flying
Through the air down the green and in a tiny hole
Only to take it out again, is this really reaching a goal
You'll find them every weekend playing on the green
Wearing funny clothes and shoes, like you never seen
They'll push on round the golf course, until they reach the end
In and out of all them holes, they're clearly round the bend.

The Speed
To exaggerate is not the work of man,
I tell you fact, neither more or less
What incredible feelingly I did behold,
When my ethereal self was returning,
From the journey long, during the flight
Rested a while in front of a mansion,
Entered straight into it and saw,
The secret diligent hands busy at work,
The young servants unaware of indolence,
Preparing the records on the scrolls.
In the very spacious hall was a heap
Of books with crippled pages, brown and old,
As the rains had spoiled them all.
Took then I a few to read the lines,
But the ancient words made them mysterious,
And I could not make out a word single.
Then one who seemed to be the master of house,
Looked with displeasure, I put them down;
And finding no reverence I came out of the door.
Then looked I to the sky and wondering beheld,
A huge sun emitting glaring radiance,
Washing the blue of those cosmic spheres.
Then curiosity raised a question in the mind,
And I prayed to God to resolve the mystery,
“What is the speed of ethereal self? ”
While looking up a downward jerk I felt,
The huge radiant sun became a star,
Like a little dot that shines at night,
With remote thin dying gleam of glow.
Another sudden jolt swayed me down again,
Place me beneath on the strange landing,
Wherefrom I found the distant star vanished.
It was an answer to my unabating doubts,
“The distances beams travel in the years,
The fueled souls leap in a span very short.”
Then one who seemed to be the master of house,
Looked with displeasure, I put them down,
And finding no reverence I came out of the door.
An other sudden jolt swayed me down again,
Place me beneath on the strange landing,
Wherefrom I found the distant star vanished.
It was an answer to my unabating doubts,
“The distances beams travel in the years,
The fueled souls leap in a span very short.”
Note: This poem is purely based on a spiritual experience, and nothing else. In my life I passed though a certain period (from 1992 to 1998) when I often felt a sort of titillating sensation and something dispatching from my physical body and flying with all sensations and consciousness, into the distant corners of the universe, beyond imagination where I observed other worlds much vaster than ours, saw spirits of the diseased men and women, often I had a chat with them, revealing mysteries. My poem is a narration of the same experience and it is not merely a vain imagining; I have evaded myself from exaggeration; I put my case to the psychiatrists, and spiritualists for comments and criticism, the poem also contains a substance for the cosmologists.

Love Working On You
(jim collins/craig wiseman)
You woke up this morning
Changes were taking place
You looked in the mirror
A smile was all over your face
cause out of nowhere
Someone was there
Who dared to climb
Those walls you made
Its exciting, a little frightening
But girl dont you be afraid
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Cant even remember
All the sorrow that you left behind
Its a brand new day
Theres a bright new way
And your tears have turned into wine
You never forget
When your eyes met
Or just how clearly you could see
Where the turns are deep in your heart
That lead you to believe
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
All of the while you felt forsaken
And all of the while
Loves been waiting, waiting
Suddenly you see how it could be
If we all only felt this way
And for a while girl you can see this world
Looking through the eyes of fate
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Thats just the love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through

In This World
In This World (Murder)
In this world all our sins are simple
but you step over innocent lines
and in this world its not all our money that's evil
its the ones you choose over life
and in my heart I can not believe in this murder
and I will not be fed by the lies
our lies are created just to be murdered
It's murder
no matter how hard they try
and no matter how loud they cry
they can't
buy their way into heaven
no matter how hard they try
and no matter how high they climb
up the ladder
they won't reach up into heaven
and make us see
the innocent lives
the poor and the suffering
and in my heart I want to undo
all this murder
and give back the innocent lives
open cages and stop their luxirous murder
its murder
no matter how hard they try
and no matter how loud they cry
they can't
buy their way into heaven
no matter how hard they try
and no matter how high they climb
up the ladder
they won't reach up into heaven
Ohh innocent lives
(Can't make out)
no matter how hard they try
and no matter how loud they cry
they can't
buy their way into heaven
no matter how hard they try
and no matter how high they climb
up the ladder
they won't reach up into heaven
no matter how hard they try
and no matter how loud they cry
they can't
buy their way into heaven
no matter how hard they try
and no matter how high they climb
up the ladder
they won't reach up into heaven
heaven [fading out]

My if world
Escaping to the if world, where everything is possible
Changing my reality and live the impossible
Waving my magic stick so every wish come true
Sprinkling the fairy dust, believing this magic will do
Smelling vanilla scent, I reach imagination land
Here with my illusion beyond what you understand
In if world where puppets come to life
Where nymphs on rivers waiting to take a dive
Through this new frame of vision where everything is bright
I see smiles all around shinning in the light
Through this rose coloured glass lens where everything shines and glows
I see boys and girls waiting thier turns in the long adventure rows
In this blue horizon where all the ground is green
That's only seperated by the quiet water streams
I wave my magic stick and sprinkle the fairy dust
To spread the white hope, , that in here is a must
I wipe away all tears from the crying faces
Healing all the broken promises that were once taken
In the if world, wearing your skin alone makes you complete
Everything in here you own, there is nothing else you need
Where all the boys are kings and all the girls are queens
Wearing purple gowns, daring the time stream
If you ever needed me just call out my name
In imagination land you will find me on a task of building a way
That will connect the fantasy world to reality where you live
Reality that can be changed with the power of the word if

Hot Legs
(rod stewart)
Whos that knocking on my door
Its gotta be a quarter to four
Is it you again coming round for more
Well you can love me tonight if you want
But in the morning make sure youre gone
Im talkin to you
Hot legs, wearing me out
Hot legs, you can scream and shout
Hot legs, are you still in school
I love you honey
Gotta most persuasive tongue
You promise all kinds of fun
But what you dont understand
Im a working man
Gonna need a shot of vitamin e
By the time youre finished with me
Im talking to you
Hot legs, youre an alley cat
Hot legs, you scratch my back
Hot legs, bring your mother too
I love you honey
Imagine how my daddy felt
In your jet black suspender belt
Seventeen years old
Hes touching sixty four
You got legs right up to your neck
Youre making me a physical wreck
Im talking to you
Hot legs, in your satin shoes
Hot legs, are you still in school
Hot legs, youre making me a fool
I love you honey
Hot legs, making your mark
Hot legs, keep my pencil sharp
Hot legs, keep your hands to yourself
I love you honey
Hot legs, youre wearing me out
Hot legs, you can scream and shout
Hot legs, youre still in school
I love you honey

Where In The World
Where in the world did you go?
Without a clue, without a word
What on earth did I do wrong?
You won't believe how much I hurt
I can't believe the mess we're in
My sense of humour wearing thin
Gets away with murder every day
Can't you hear me, won't you make it go away?
Enough to taste of bitterness
Hits me in the face, someone else's wish
Here I lay awake, alone
Just wishing you'd come home
You leave me desolate and torn
Go and fight in someone else's war
And so you put us both to shame
Don't come near me
Don't you make it go away
I can't believe the mess we're in
My sense of humour wearing thin
No ones getting younger anyway
Can't you hear me, won't you make it go away?
I can't believe the mess we're in
My sense of humour wearing thin
Gets away with murder every other day
Can you hear me, won't you make it go away?
Won't you make it go away?
Won't you make it go away?

Reach Out
(Colwell)
It's over your head
And you don't seem to understand
One word I say
And you can't live your life
Trying to run away
You're fighting your friends
You're wearing everybody out
But it never ends
You're wearing me out
(chorus)
Come on
Reach out
And let somebody in your life
Don't get me wrong
You always apologize
It's just your way
Of making a scene
You need to be loved
It's not such a crime
(repeat chorus)
Over your head
You just don't seem to understand
One word I say
And you can't live your life
You got so much love
It's burning inside
(repeat chorus)

Big Bear Lake
Wearing pink high-heels on stage,
I performed with Melodie at Big Bear Lake.
Wearing a pink costume with headband on head,
Melodie spoke also from me she was lead,
Into a story that made birthday wishes come true,
UniCandle unicorn would light the cake especially for you.
Audience member said that he was on the edge of his seat,
He imagined a magical land that could turn into a LSD trip.
Yes, UniCandle unicorn could do anything that day,
but I wanted to give Sarah Star a "Special Birthday.
Luckily I had this performance recorded on tape,
it turned out pretty good even though I stayed up late.
Stayed up late, with no sleep, I was so scared I couldn't even count sheep.
My act stood out from all the rest for I was the only with a doll closed to chest.
Also, I was one of the few from the Midwest, I can attest.

the C word
it’s said by women to women
that the most offensive word
(in the english language)
they can be called is
the C word-
this word cannot be uttered by men around women,
it’s said by women to men,
it’s said by men to men
when conversing about the women who told them
amidst other women or
alone
without other women present.
all words stumble round its usage like
a toddler
meandering across a
fresh patch of ice in slippers made of
butter.
as cyanide in your favorite drink or
perhaps something of a barbed wire jockstrap
you know better than to tread that water,
best to swim instead of sink-
but men will call each other this word
like its nobody’s business
especially in england
and it’s laughable
how quickly its forgotten that women still
frequent
these areas said to be inhabited only by those with
penises-
it is still a word isn’t it?
one of many,
whose disgustingness has brought violence with them
for hundreds if not
thousands of years.
so will this word be picked up by women who
feel its usage to be violent, misogynistic & vile,
only then subsequently appropriating it for their own
giving it new meaning?

Horse Head Fiddle
i look for him in everywhere
in everywhere i found him not
exhausted i sleep in steppe
in the dream my gray horse spoke to me
find me neath the killing cliff
find me neath the killing cliff
hang my skull on the old larch tree
carve from its wood a two string fiddle
cover over with the skin of my face
string my hair down the neck in place
weave together anger and grief
bow down bow down and sing
i will return through you
strong and gray on mountain high
his black and white faces go running by
strong and gray on mountain high
he come with herd black faces wild

Stardust
Out of the cleft lip comes
a muffled voice
on the turn of events,
to interrupt a call.
Then the panic rises,
the blood was oozing from the larynx.
The winding mountain path goes to the end
of blessing where the prayer drowns.
What was happening to the golden land?
Did the green worry about the iced peaks,
from where the glaciers take a bend
to enter the valley?
Who was negotiating the winds?
The logic between the stars and moon?
Huge gods were speaking to the men
in black, wearing eye masks on the highest terrains,
not heading my grief.
The dust was crying.
