Out on the road the traffic slowed down to a crawl
Strobe lights flashin on the overpass
The tangled steel could not reveal what no one saw
Or how he walked away without a scratch
He thought of her and walked along the exit ramp
He touched the night between two old street lamps.

Entertaining illusions

Entertaining illusions

Sleep deprived I twist and turn
While thoughts play upon my heart
Like a string quartet in symphony
Playing me into the night I follow
Picturing and hearing new sensations
Which burn my skin unbound with desire
I am at a loss to understand or comprehend
These landscape pictures I now witness
Into the night and the dark about me
I stare intent and transfixed
Upon the portrait of imagination
I now hear whispers talk of dreams
As though a madness has descended
I am sleepless and alive with thought
Almost controlling my dreams at a touch
Yet still only paying witness to them
I am here alone amid a silence
While wind howls beyond the window
And inside blinded by the night

Sleepless Night

Oh, there's a rude little lady
Livin' next to me.

But it ain't me.
Ev'ry night at twelve o'clock,
They start to rock with all they got.
They keep it up all night.
It just ain't right.
They O.K. by me, I'm not.
He and she, they all right.

Eagle night and seen by sea
A distant call, in sonnet key
In any moment, place or time
A distant call is sent from high
Eagle night, i swear I’ve sawn
Eagle flight with salty winds
By the pinnacle of water and land
Where sea winds crash and struggle the sand
Call again, from a place that’s near
Always close, so one can hear
Or so can be thought the truth of such things
Resonate from eagle wings
Never foreboding the loss of a call

The discontent of the mind is evaded
