An Olympic Poem

A nation presents to the world
amidst a celebration of unity
how sportsmanship and humility
stand with pride and success
that no colour nor religion
separates man or woman
it is the strength and belief
those years spent in training
revealed to the eyes of the world
it is in that final breath spoken
''all we ask is to compete,
all we ask to to do our best''
the will be cheers and tears
the will be great joy and sorrow
but come the end this truth
a nation stands to applaud
and to say thank you

Strength of a nation

Strength of a nation
~
The strength of a nation
Driven by honour and pride
Will stand as one to the fight
Against the needless hate
Those that seek to destroy
Through envy and fear
Of what the nation stands for
They will not kill the spirit
Only strengthen its resolve
A nation open to all beliefs
Teaches equality to all
And through its own faults
Will learn and grow stronger
The free shall stand as one
The strength of the nation
Seeing through the adversity
Does not yield nor quit
But stands defiant
We stand as one

Nation Against Nation

Listen to the rage of nations
Anger spilling through the barrel of the gun
Hear, the wrath of leaders
Ending in bloodshed and sorrow
They take their pride to the battle ground
And they shoot humility out of the world
They invest wisdom into doom
And in the end, we solve folly.
They bury their heroes with respect
Followed by the sound of riffles
As if this is all there is.
But; when pride rises against pride
And nation against nation,
Love and truth will carry the day.

Gather Together Olympians

We are gathered here together
To make this world better.
Athletes from every nation
Participating in this celebration.

Everyone with a goal in mind
To leave their mark at this time.
It mattered not if it was swimming
Pole vaulting, running, volley ball
In the water or on the land
They was there to take a stand.

Then I stop and think and in complete awe
How this world gets together to reach a score.
All problems are forgotten at this particular time
As they cross the finish line.

If we can do this for this short spell
Then we should send these problems
All to hell.

Many walked away with smiles on their faces
And some with tears in their eyes, and not
Because they didn't try.

The OLYMPICS come every four years
And they start training at a very young age
Just so they could climb up that two foot step
So that a judge can put a medal around their neck.

They do this for their own gratification
And to be honored by their nation.
To feel the joy that this event brings
Just like a ball player who gets that ring.

I salute you one and all -you have reason to stand tall.

Jingoism

Be not jingoistic
and say 'No' to the calls
of to religion and race.

Be patriotic to your nation
to stand by the poor
and book the criminals.

Love your nation
for its war against
illiteracy and poverty.

Love your nation
for its unceasing efforts
to extract work from the youths.

Love your nation
for not encroaching
and enslaving the neighbours.

Love your nation
for her indigenuous efforts
to reach the peak in health-care.

Love your nation
for being secular
and respect all cults and tongues.

Love your nation
for being a model
to other nations in this world.

Forth Of July Celebration

(7/4/12)

It's the 4th of JULY celebration
Where people who wanted freedom
Fought to create this nation.

Many had died to give us this right
And over two hundred years we continue to fight.
We still give freedom to all who arrive
This is our nations pride.

People who have come here from every nation
Join one another for this celebration.
In our nations capital we have our liberty bell
Where our cry for freedom was to " give them hell".

Through out our nation you will see fireworks shot in the sky
To remind us of how these AMERICANS fought and died.
So weather it be fireworks you shoot in the sky
Or a sparkler that you hold in your hand
Pride is something that we understand.

Join us in this celebration - "feel the pride
Feel the sensation."

Why Can't A Man Stand Alone? (live)

Why can't a man stand alone?
Must he be burdened by all that he's taught to consider his own?
His skin and his station, his kin and his crown, his flag and his nation
They just weigh him down
You know pride is a sin that we tend to forgive
But it gets hard to live
When you don't have the love in her heart to begin with
Why can't a man stand alone?
Why can't a woman be just what she seems?
Must she be tarnished by men who can only be men in their dreams?
When beauty meets ignorance they shout in the street
Repeating their offer to each girl they meet
The respect that she needs, it isn't a gift
But it gets hard to lift yourself up
When you don't have the strength to begin with
Why can't a woman stand alone?
Why can't a baby sleep at night and dream of the time to come
And never fear the world outside the touch of someone very near
Why can't a man stand up?
Why can't a man stand up?
Why can't a man stand alone?

Can you see the pride of a nation?

Can you see the pride of a nation
when it’s young men,
march of to war
and some to return no more?

Can you see the pride of a nation
when the battles and the war is won,
but destiny and betrayal
still makes a deadly mark?

Can you see the pride of a nation
where even the integrity
of its leaders lack?

Can you see the pride of a nation
that turns its back on its own
and disregard their abilities?

There in that perfect vale
all will be shown
north, south, west
in vast Eden drowned.

Beauty obscured by beauty
truth from truth revealed
seamless unity

Run, roustabout nation,
run to that assembly
where the God eternally gathers us
fast about his nucleus.

The Heart Of A Nation

The land of beauty,
The land of joy,
The land of plenty,
With the pearl of tourism to blow my mind!
But, the pride of a nation is all about you.

The home of peace is like,
The people's paradise;
the land of hope is like,
The home of hospitality;
The land of equity is like,
The state of harmony;
And, the food basket of the nation is with joy!
But, the pride of a nation is all about you.

Home for all is like,
The salt of a nation;
Home for solid mineral is like,
The centre of commerce;
But, the sunshine state is where to share your love with,
For, the pride of a nation is all about you.

The state of caliphate and,
The liberal state of love;
For, thenew world is always around you! !
But, the jewel in the savannah is all that i share with you.

Coal in the city of love,
And like the fountain of knowledge and power! !
But the heart beat of a nation is like,
The centre of excellence!

The state of a living spring is like the gateway to all!
But the peace setter state is what i share with you;
Because, nature's gift to a nation is like the rainbow!

Of the big heart of love and,
Of the centre of unity to all mankind!
For, the young shall grow;
And, the treasure base of life is the status of peace.

The pride to farm the land,
And of the confluence state of my mind! !
But, the power to show love is like,
The Creator's own state of mind to a nation!

Scientists

Since when a child, they toiled so hard,
In umptine fields, really starred;
Their lives passed off through night and day’
Hoping success in morrow’s way.
They spent their hours, days, weeks and years,
Struggled, becoming almost seers!
Musing sometimes in fantasy,
Alone in labs of secrecy;
Nation knew not their enterprise;
Their life was one great sacrifice;
They cared not for any glory;
For most, it was a sad story!
Working hard was their only aim,
Until their brains quite old became;
For years, their eyes ad missed the Sun!
Their kith and kin and all the fun;
Their rods and cones, sullen became,
Reading all life, though missing fame;
Unmindful of the raging wars,
The Wind and Rain, the Moon and Stars;
They slogged for more than money’s worth;
Their Nation’s need, their only oath!
Struggling to solve problems many,
Their work was Life and not funny;
While the world slept, awake they kept,
In sorrows, joys, they never wept;
They were their Nation’s real gems!
That grew like flowers atop stems;
The Sun never set in their lives;
Heroes yet, were treated like flies!
Uncaring for any returns;
Their fuels spent, were ashed in urns;
The Nation paid homage to some,
With Awards posthumous, handsome;
The rest remained like Stars unseen,
Perhaps, heaven will give them sheen!

Tears and Strungle

Our leaders fight for our freedom
Sweeting up to the last sweety
Fighting for the freedom of the nation
Oh! freedom of the nation,

They were locked inside the hell
Trying to destroy their dignity
Shocked by a powerful electricity cable
Because of the love of the nation they go through
They go through pain, and suffering for us.

They cry while they fight, for our success
They strangle turn into joy and happiness
They tears turn into a river of joy of all nation.
They tears and strungle bring freedom to all nation.

Dark As Before

In this darkened world we live, God’s Only Son was sent to give,
A Hope and Light to every nation, through The Lord’s Revelation,
Spoken of through all the ages, by Prophets and Ancient Sages,
And revealed by our God’s plan, to bring Salvation to every man.

Revealed to the Nation Israel, a peoples waiting for God to fulfill,
The many promises, to that land, yet, they would not understand,
He was their Messiah to come, and not sure, where He was from,
But, He was that promised One, not only for Israel, but everyone.

They were blinded through unbelief, so, their Nation saw no relief,
From that darkness, they were in, brought on them by all their sin.
God sent salvation to that race, who had fallen from God’s grace,
But, blinded by all their iniquity, they had eyes that could not see.

The darkness when Christ first came, in our land is quite the same,
Shifting hearts against The Lord, so revealed Truths goes ignored,
Opposing all they should’ve feared, consciences, now are seared,
So that believing in Satan’s lies, is now seen to be politically wise.

As John the Baptist paved the way, for what Jesus Christ did say,
Those of us, who are Born Again, must be God’s voice to all men,
While leading men to a second birth, before Christ returns to earth,
So others too, can have Eternal Life, with The Savior Jesus Christ.

Centennial Celebration

In the year eighteen seventy-six,
A Fourth of July celebration
Was held in Grand Rapids city
In honor to our nation.
The largest city in the county of Kent,
Is this city, and it is respected,
For thousands of people was here to see
The beautiful arch erected.

The Centennial arch on Campau Place
Was the most principal feature;
It was a grand beautiful sight
To all human sensitive creatures;
To all the people that loved to read
The mottoes on it painted,
The engravings, too, and tell
What each one represented.

The paintings and mottoes on the arch
Was viewed by many people;
It was Colonel Joseph Penney's design,
And his work could not be equalled.
Mr. C. H. Gifford was architect,
He formed the noble structure,
A memento to the Centennial year,
A pride of our nation's culture.

A cabin was built, too, I believe,
That nicely represented
One that the traders built years ago,
This was the only one invented.
Ten thousand people respected it,
This token of early years, with pay;
The honor of this little hut
Was due to Mr. Godfroy.

The stars and stripes was honored, too,
For from a thousand windows waving,
That dear old flag, red, white and blue,
That's loved throughout our nation:
That same flag for one hundred years
Has waved over our nation;
May God let it forever wave
Over our Union celebration.

The people in the city, friends,
Was an honor to our nation,
For they all joined heart and hand
In our Union celebration.
Some gave money, other labor,
To maintain what was intended.
It was a success, some people said,
Who here that day attended.

That day will never be forgot
By the people of Kent county,
God bless the people who joined that day
In the honor of our country.
The people in the city, friends,
Dearly loved this nation,
For they saved no time or expense
In our Centennial celebration.

Tryst with Destiny (in poem form for India’s 64th Independence Day)

And when the clock struck twelve midnight,
Fourteenth, august, forty-seven,
An Asian nation turned awake,
While world slept on in slumber deep!

A hundred years of freedom fight
Came to a grinding halt that night,
As Pandit Nehru gave his speech,
‘Tryst with destiny’ with reach!

India awoke to freedom life,
Despite a hundred years of strife,
And took a pledge anew to stay
A nation, free with peace each day!

That moment was so rare indeed;
A nation’s soul was stirred to lead,
And show the world its powerful seed,
As nations totally paid heed.

India’s history thus saw a dawn:
A struggle great ended that morn,
As success finally newborn,
Did Motherland with pride adorn.

With freedom came newer duties;
The failures of the past did cease;
The country was given new lease –
A cure for this strange a disease!

The nation was a sovereign state,
On that magical hour and date;
As leaders vowed to change the fate
Of Indian people’s long a wait.

A star of freedom rose in east,
Heralding celebration, feast;
A hope anew was born that day,
To never cease, oh, come what may!

The star would never set at all –
The Nation’s Father’s clarion call,
The architect of freedom’s hall,
Was Gandhiji (Bapu) , man tall!

He held the torch of freedom high;
Many freedom fighters did die;
And many people heaved a sigh;
As democracy stood too nigh!

‘Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! ’

America

Deep thunder shakes this warm July evening
and lightning flashes over the waterfront
filling the clear, starry sky with acrid clouds and glimmering rain
falling to the water as children gaze
in shock and awe,
waiting for the next big one to explode.

False bombardment as celebration:

such fits my nation, founded in genocide and slavery,
this nation baptized in the blood and tears
of Navaho and Cherokee and all the tribes of the American holocaust
a nation that devoured one quarter of its sons
in four short, blood-soaked years; my nation
a nation of efficient bigots and hungry hypocrites,
giving the world Gettysburg and the Trail of Tears
as models for problem-solving;
a nation unlike any other, not able to live up to its promises
because no other nation dares make such promises.

The bright violence of rockets' red glare lights our sky
like the bold Declaration ignited the world, and thunder
rocked mighty kings from complacent belief in their divine rights,
rocked the people of Europe, thirsting for their own rights
and land and a chance to pursue a little happiness;
yes, rocked even distant Asia, deep in its ancient dream
foolish men joyfully following the distant thunder
to seek the fabled Golden Mountain.

The promise was made and broken and made yet again,
and the anger of betrayal torched the cities of the sixties,
and singed our hearts
and in the redeeming pain of change
made them a little less impure.
Yes, we are imperfect,
but we know our sins
and pay for them over and over again,

and to remind ourselves of the debt yet unsatisfied,
every summer we celebrate in the only way fitting for such a nation;
In the starry sky fiercely glowing with liberty
and in the transcendent thunder of the Promise.

September Eleventh,2011 USA

This day reminds that evil lurks in skies!
This day tells us that world is not yet safe;
This day brings memories of the lost loved ones;
This day instills a unity anew!

A nation strong is weak in many ways;
A nation cannot be alert always;
But terrorists shan't have their way, all days;
Good will triumph o'er evil any day!

Let's pray to God to give us peace on earth;
Demons and evil-minds are on the prowl;
We have to wage a war against untruth;
And truth will win, as God is on our side!

‘Let God strengthen the nation once again! '
