It takes a stronger Man
It takes a stronger man
To value a woman’s strength
To encourage her strength
Not to be threatened by it
But see it as a sign of his own strength
In a world where some men need weak women to feel strong
Where some men get validation from physical dominance
Where dependent, submissive and needy women are celebrated
A Media that commercialised self-disrespecting and confused girls
Yes, I stand my ground!
It takes a stronger man to love a strong woman
Not to be wavered by societies misrepresentation of masculinity
Not to conform to the patterns of this world
To understand and recognise that in a woman’s strength lies hidden vulnerability
To know that it takes a strong woman to show vulnerability

We Will Be Strong
Pity the fool
Its hard but he broke a rule
And that isnt done
Somehow, someday, brother will use a gun
Just walking the town
Just painting it sad
Its bringing me down
Its driving me mad
Woman is away from me
We will be strong, we will be strong
I know we have the strength to carry on
We have the strength
I know my rights from wrong
I know youve lost Ive won
We will be stronger
We will be strong
And getting stronger every day
Believe me when I say it
There is no other way to convey it
No other way you clown
Your thoughtfulness has brought us down
And that isnt right
That we should walk alone on the streets at night
Just checking the time
Walking that very fine line
The humour is black
The plan is attack
Now woman is away from me
But we will be strong

Her Hidden Treasure
Her flame was only for the women –
Not for us unlucky men;
A weakness lay for feminine way:
To feel an even fairer skin
In silky slide.
Her lips were for the satin love that
Only flows from rising breast;
The creamy tan was not for man
To pull towards a chiselled chest
In weathered hide.
Her hidden treasure down below
Would shy away from macho length
And only rouse upon the blouse
Undone by other sapphic strength –
In time, inside!

She And He
To be a woman is to be silent and sure
To know, to be secure,
Not just about oneself but about the world,
About what's good and what's bad,
What to hold and what to void.
To be a woman is to be strong,
Not by becoming strong, not by acquiring strength:
To be a woman is to be strength itself.
To be a woman is not to speculate,
Not to know separation from the self,
Not to know death.
To be a woman is to find one's depth within oneself.
To be a woman is never to venture,
Never to stray, never to search,
But to have, as natural right,
Dominion over the earth.
To be a woman is to hold sway,
To be a woman is to be the source.
To be a man is to seek, to venture, to define-
And to find one's annihilation in woman.

Dance Between Two Women
Thank you for the flowers you brought me today
And thank you for the kindness you showed me today
No love can be stronger than between two strong women
No man can ever know the dance between two women
We can dance... my lady... may I have this dance?
Thank you for the wisdom the knowing from inside
And thank you for the comfort only a woman can provide
No man can ever know the dance between two women
Love cant be stronger than between two strong women
We can dance... my lady... may I have this dance?
Thank you for the strength without a need for power
And thank you for the rhythym, the sacred circle
Love cant be stronger than between two strong women
No man can ever know the dance between two women
Like you and i
We can dance... my lady... may I have this dance?

The Strength of a Woman
The strength of a woman is her kindhearted ways
that she forever displays.
It's her loving confident smile that takes you to the
highest place with the glimpse of determination
shone upon her face.
The strength of a woman is the amazing ability to
withstand pain bring a life in this world even if the
man does not want to entertain.
It's the ability to raise her child on her own when
the man left her all alone to support them until they
are grown.
The strength of a woman is the intrinsic style
to protect like a child without being hostile.
It's the humble heart she shows
that warms a soul when your spirits feeling low.
The strength of a woman knows how to restrain her
tongue when insults are being flung.
It's the lovely expression she conveys with the eyes
and respect for herself she does not denys.
The strength of a woman is the devoted traits
she has standing by her man side when problems
arise.
It's her inspirational words she gives her mate
making him feel oh so great.
The strength of a woman is her gentle touch
you love so much.
It's her loyal love to one guy she continues to create
without being irate.
The strength of a woman is her intellectual mind,
oh so chic with the words she speaks.
It's the versatile
qualities she uses without spirit of guile.
The strength of a woman is learning how to love
when she has been hurt over again without
committing a sin.
The strength of a woman is not her traditional love
she has to live on, it's her unconditional spiritual love
that has not yet gone.

Women I Know
Strong are the women
In my family.
Every last one...
Seem to have the strength,
To shadow some men...
As if they had none!
And f-i-n-e! Yes!
Beautiful with power.
Mothers who have raised children.
Some without their fathers.
To become themselves...
Strong and bright!
And dynamic in one's sight!
And yes...
They too,
Are f-i-n-e!
Some ask me 'why'...
I have no better half!
Why I am divorce?
And my relationships seem not to last!
I know the answer...
Of course!
Strong are the women
In my family.
Every last one...
Seem to have the strength,
To shadow some men...
As if they had none!
And the men in my family,
Are even stronger than some!
And...
Yes!
They too are f-i-n-e!
And I am left spoiled.
Wishing for one like them!
Not the men! !
But then...
These women I know and related to...
Are few in the market!
And I have stopped shopping...
For a companion to compare!
Beauty, strength and independence are rare.
And these women in my family have it all!
And even more to spare.
I would have to leave this Earth...
To discover someone not to compare,
To these women I love!
And we are related too!
This for me is so difficult.
For me to feel this...
Is so unfair!
However...
No burden is this do I bare!
But then..
To know so many women,
With qualities I like!
Cousins or aunts...
Of my blood 'everywhere'!
And joke,
I do not!
It's true.
Every woman I ever adored...
Has my last name too!
Yeeeessss!
God...
Please lift me from this curse!
hahahahaha
I can't like some I know...
Rehearse wedding after wedding,
After wedding after wedding!
Addicted to romantic delusions!
I know what I'll do!
I will move.
Build a hut in the Amazon.
Or the Congo!
And get it on...
With the monkeys!
Feeling free not to bother,
To ask for ID.

Strong Black Woman
Baby, such a long life, my child
So many stories I have to tell you
Of slavery and of tragedy
Sit down and listen to my tales
Everybody thinks that the strong black woman died
No, she only stood back because she had not cried
She took a minute to rest. She cried. Her heart so heavy
But she’s back, baby. And child, she’s so pretty
I’m a strong black woman, and I am fighting
Don’t mess with me; I’ll leave your eyes shining
I give these children all the love they crave
I’ll beat away any energy that makes life grave
Hallelujah, the strong black woman still lives
Hallelujah, the strong black woman still gives
Hallelujah, can you feel the strength of her?
Hallelujah, this woman is one you can’t deter
Praise the lord’s name and speak in tongues
May all the strong black women live so long
I am a strong black woman, I am here
A strong black woman lives in my heart
Hallelujah, the black woman is so strong
Hallelujah, this has become my favorite song
Hallelujah, the strong black woman prospers
Hallelujah, she is no different than her brothers
The strong black woman never died, she lives
See, no matter what happens she always survives
I am here, I am a strong black woman, in disguise
And this newly strong black woman never dies
Praise the lord’s name the black woman is back
Now the world knows that we survive any attack
Give her all the suffering children or people in despair
Because the strong black woman will return them to air
The strong black woman was not lynched or killed
She gave herself a proud face and lived on so skilled
Praise the lord’s name and know that she lives on
Hallelujah, the strong black woman will never be gone

Are Women Weak?
Around the world women
Are considered weak
Making them invisible
In most societies
Demarcation lines at front and rear
Women stand putting themselves in gear
Working in fear
'At home is where she should be'
But her inner eyes help her to see
That she will be free
Are women weak?
Doing the work of man
'Yes! they can.
Keeping the house from a band
Working as hard as any man
Are women weak?
Expecting nothing but doing everything
Enough to make ones heart sing
A goddess in her own right
Deeply crying in the night,
But never losing sight
Are women weak?
Taking up where the man left off
Leaving her the boss...
The unheard of she does
Her voice slowly whispers
'I'll be free the woman in me'
Punish me if you most
I can rise from the dust
Are women weak?
Having a child here and there
Maybe that is not fair,
And that make no delays
Even when the man is out to play
The best thing that ever
Happen to man for man
Is a Woman right in his hand
Given props to his plans
Thinking that world is his land
Forgetting of God's touch
Who loves woman just as much
'Foolish, foolish, man'.
Are woman weak?
Women suffer because men refuse to see
Woman is just like he
Man do not understand that
They are cool just keeping woman Fat.
Not in heels but in flats
Imagine that.
Are women weak?
The fear men have makes him strong
By God he know he's wrong
Still a woman works hard and long
Are women weak?
Woman no matter where you may be
You have a friend in me.

You ARE A Woman :)
You are a woman,
A strong woman,
A grown woman,
One who WON'T give me what I want just cause I want it woman.
He needs you woman,
A loving woman,
Non-trusting woman,
One who knows the difference between right and wrong woman.
I found a woman,
You're one of em,
So many love em,
You just need to see the places you can be woman.
Hear me woman,
Don't fear me woman,
You're near me woman,
We all face strife, gotta change yo life woman.
See me woman,
No fake or frontin,
Can't be me woman,
For I am a man and you need to be a WOMAN!

Woman Thou art Free
To be a woman there are certain characteristics that you embody
That set you apart, ain't nothing like a strong woman with a good heart.
Some say they curse the day God made woman, but only God understand that he created it
for us to see the good and the bad, life for some without a woman is really sad.
The woman was made to feel the pain and the man to work the land.
But in everything God had a plan.
Women have come a long way from the kitchen to the runway.
Women have broken down all barriers,
and have proven to be able to compete at all levels, so much that it marvels.
Women's long battle for equality and right have gotten them to unite.
Their strength and unity have given them the courage to embrace every opportunity
under the social and economical horizon;
they are now prospering over the men in the dozens.
They now take full advantage for all the times they've been denied passage.
Women have become leaders, more than conquerors,
strong educators, powerful motivators and labourers.
Yet women have not forgotten their role in the home, though some are not full-time.
A little independence is not a crime. But still they are able to make the house a home,
put food on the table, keep their lives stable
for at the end of the day, at home is where their hearts will always stay
so we thank God for Women's Day.

Freedom (1960's)
To stand forth in strength;
The strength of wisdom,
The strength of knowledge,
The strength of power,
The strength to stand tall,
The strength to say nay,
The strength to be proud,
To be strong, able and wise,
Down this road true freedom lies...

The Grenadain Woman
Yes me woman, from my womb life was borne
Yes me woman, the young ones prune by my hands
Yes me woman, with the coves that sways with the redeem of the heart beat, tup-tup, tup-tup, tup-tup, tup-tup
Yes me woman, with beauty unimaginable, soft to the touch
yes me woman, with the voice of a heavenly being, soft, gentle, comforting, encouraging
Yes me woman, determine to succeed with the strength from above
Yes me woman, the days have gone, long gone for her to depend on the strength of another man
Yes me woman, her time has come for the world to see her for who she really is
Yes me woman, creative, innovative, confident, intelligent, loving, kindhearted
Yes me woman, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, lover
Yes me woman, The Grenadian woman.

Black Woman
The day I met you I saw strength
and I knew from that point on
that you were pure woman to me
possessing a spirit that was strong
I want smiles to replace the sorrow
that you have encountered in the past
and since it was strength that attracted me to you
it will take strength to make it last
My negative side will attempt to change you
but please fight that with your all
it will be your strength that keep us both standing
while others around us fall

If I Was Your Woman
If I were your woman and u were my man
U'd have no other woman
U'd be weak as lamb.
If u had the strength to walk out my door
My love would overrule my sense,
and I'd call u back for more.
If I was your woman,
If I was your woman,
and u were my man.
yeah
She tears u down darling
says you're nothing at all,
but I'll pick u up darling when she lets you fall(cuz)
your like diamond, but she treats u like glass,
yet u beg her to love you.
From me u won't ask.
If I were your woman,
If I were your woman,
If I was your woman,
Here's what I'd do....
I'd never, never, no, no stop loving you
Yeah (yeah)
Um oooh
Life is so crazy
And love is unkind
Because she was first, darling
will she hang on your mind
You're a part of me but you don't even know it
I'm what you need but I'm too afriad to show it.
If I were your woman
If I were your woman
If I were your woman
Here's what I'd do.....
I'd never, never, no, no stop loving you.
If I were your woman
Here's what I'd do....
I'd never, never, never stop loving you
If i were your woman,
if i were your woman,

if i were your woman,
if i were your woman.

So Weak, Yet Strong
1. Who says I am weak
Who says I am feeble
Who says my bones are tender
Who says my teeth cannot chew bones
Let the weak say I am strong, yes the strength of the
Lord is made perfect in my weakness, so who says I am weak.
2. Have you not heard?
Have you not seen?
Have you not noticed that the Lord gives strength to the weak,
and makes their feet strong.
Yes, in faith is my strength
In his name I am fortified
In his blood I am shielded, so who says I am weak
3. Have you not heard that I can do
All things through him who gives me strength
Have you not seen that those who wait on him shall always renew their strength.
Are you weak?
Do you feel feeble?
Do you feel tender and fragile?
Then wait on God for strength, wait on him for his counsel
Wait on him for his laughter for the joy of the Lord is always your strength
Keep, Keep and K E E P his joy alive forevermore

Strong Woman
I wonder what makes a woman strong,
To hold us for nine long month,
And stand the pain of our arrival.
I wonder what makes a woman strong,
To stand the insults hurled each day,
To stand the oppression and stand the blame.
I wonder what makes a woman strong,
To keep a smile after an insult,
And make love like all was fine.
I wonder what makes a woman strong,
To wake each morning the past forgotten,
I just wonder what makes a woman strong.

The Real Strength of a Woman
Everyone wonders what’s her secret?
The mother with 3 kids and no father to support them
The woman with cancer who still manages to come out on top
The grandmother who is forced to be a mother yet again because
Of her daughters mistakes
I wonder myself and I still have a long way to go
But I believe that they all have one thing in common….
The Real Strength of a Woman
The ability to shield themselves from the hurt while in others view
The ability to make their children believe that everything will be ok
The ability to make everything ok despite their hurdles
The ability to stay close to God despite how difficult it may seem
The ability to be strong and remain a brick wall for their loved ones
A real woman can console others even when she is worse off
She can find it in her heart to somehow give, even when no one is giving her
She can endure many hardships and sacrifices because of the ones she loves
Yet she somehow still remains strong
I still don’t fully know the strength of a woman
But every woman out there that I’ve seen, met or come into contact with
All possess these qualities in one way, shape or form
