Fading Spirituality
They've wanted me to confess
my sins
to a man I did not know
yet I pondered as a child
which way shall I go
an alter boy
with a tad of an ego
confess my hurtful feelings
to a priest
whose seeds, I would not sow
through out the annals of time
the immoral, unjust, lied
while they cover up
their transgressions, they laughed and scoffed
while we cried
I now see clearly
there will indeed be weeping and
gnashing of teeth
to no avail
yet while I sit here
in an empty pew
parishioner-less
on a Sunday afternoon
still searching for truth indeed and
never seeing
the holy grail

Confessing Sins
when guilt is full
there comes a time when we think of
the possibility of confessing our sins,
the usual sins of omissions
more than our sins of commissions,
to a friend perhaps, but you doubt
for he has more sins than you have
and it might as well end
on the reverse, you the listening tree
and he the barking dog,
or perhaps to a religious group but
you shy away because of their number
and you might as well at the end be the
subject of their gossip
in town for a week or so,
and so you become a catholic again
on a Sunday before your parish priest
you kneel down and confess your sins,
and your dismay the priest says,
'
my son these are not sins anymore
under the new doctrines
with an ending, don't worry my boy
you'll do penance just the same
say three our fathers and three hail Mary's
and don't come back
your sins are the same as mine'
what comfort is this, when sins are confessed
to a person on the same misery and guilt as we are.

Confess your sins to the Lord and you will be forgiven; confess them to man and you will be laughed at.

At a Certain Age
We wanted to confess our sins but there were no takers.
White clouds refused to accept them, and the wind
Was too busy visiting sea after sea.
We did not succeed in interesting the animals.
Dogs, disappointed, expected an order,
A cat, as always immoral, was falling asleep.
A person seemingly very close
Did not care to hear of things long past.
Conversations with friends over vodka or coffee
Ought not be prolonged beyond the first sign of boredom.
It would be humiliating to pay by the hour
A man with a diploma, just for listening.
Churches. Perhaps churches. But to confess there what?
That we used to see ourselves as handsome and noble
Yet later in our place an ugly toad
Half-opens its thick eyelid
And one sees clearly: "That's me."

Trust
Lost in a dream
Nothing is what it seems
Searching my head
For the words that you said
Tears filled my eyes
As we said our last goodbyes
The sad scene replays
Of you walking away
My body aches from mistakes
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
That in nothing we trust
Time and again
She repeats lets be friends
I smile and say yes
Another truth bends,
I must confess
I try to let go, but I know
Well never end til were dust
We lied to each other again
But I wish I could trust
My body aches from mustakes
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
That in nothing we trust
God help me please, on my knees
Betrayed by lust
We lied to each other so much
Now theres nothing we trust
How could this be happening to me
Im lying when I say, trust me
I cant believe this is true
Trust hurts
Why does trust equal suffering
Absolutely nothing we trust

I Must Confess
Today I confess to you
one of my biggest fears
That you don’t feel the same as I do.
Today I confess to you
one of my greatest joys
For this feeling gives me great happiness.
Today I confess to you
my grandest accomplishment
To be able to have this feeling.
Today I must confess to you
That seeing you
Makes me feel complete.
Today I must confess to you
That your touch
Heals all my pain.
Today I must confess to you
what I feel is painful
And it makes it more grand.
Today I must confess to you
That no one shares
What my heart feels for you.
Today I must confess to you
My deepest feeling,
I love you!

So far, So good
Although I’m far from innocent
I have done things I now repent.
In self defence I must protest
I am no worse than all the rest
Whose sins have yet to come to light.
They still profess their innocence
Their sins well hidden out of sight
and yet feel free to take offence.
At peccadilloes I confess.
Which seems to me hypocrisy
as if somehow their sins are less
than those I confess openly.
Because they’re sure nobody knows.
Its human nature I suppose.

In The Chamber
The end is almost here
I am shaking with fear
Trapped inside this hell
I am lost, I'm afraid, it's the truth
The priest has now arrived
And I will not deny
The story of my life
I've betrayed, I confess, it's a shame
Take my life and end my miserable pain
Was it all in vain?
Give me strength to end my time in grace
Can you set me free?
Walking wrapped in chains
Through the chaos of blame
It's pounding in my veins
I'm lost, I'm afraid, it's the truth
Time has arrived
In the chamber I am
There is no return
I've betrayed, I confess, it's a shame

Return Of The Rat
You better watch out
You better beware
Theyre coming from all sides of the country
You better beware
Return of the rat
No, no, no, no!
You better confess
You had better confess
You start to confess and see them through it
You better confess

Crocodile's Toothache
Oh the Crocodile
Went to the dentist
And sat down in the chair,
And the dentist said, 'Now tell me, sir,
Why does it hurt and where?'
And the Crocodile said, 'I'll tell you the truth.
I have a terrible ache in my tooth.'
And he opened his jaws so wide, so wide,
That the dentist he climbed right inside,
And the dentist laughed, 'Oh, isn't this fun?'
As he pulled the teeth out, one by one.
And the Crocodile cried, 'You're hurting me so!
Please put down your pliers and let me go.'
But the dentist just laughed with a Ho Ho Ho,
And he said, 'I still have twelve to go --
Oops, that's the wrong one, I confess.
But what's one crocodile's tooth, more or less?'
Then suddenly the jaws went snap,
And the dentist was gone right off the map.
And where he went one could only guess...
To North or South or East or West...
He left no forwarding address.
But what's one dentist more or less?

Little Altar Boy
Little alter boy, I wonder could you pray for me?
Little alter boy, for I have gone astray
What must I do to be holy like you?
Little alter boy ,oh, let me hear you pray
Little alter boy, I wonder could you ask your lord
Ask him, alter boy, to take my sins away
What must I do to be holy like you?
Little alter boy, oh, let me hear you pray
Lift up your voice and send a pray above
Help me rejoice and fill that prayer with love
Now I know my life has been all wrong
Lift my your voice and help a sinner be strong
Little alter boy, I wonder could you pry for me?
Could you tell our lord Im gonna change my ways today?
What must I do to be holy like you?
Little alter boy, oh, let me hear you pray
Little alter boy please let me hear you pray!

Transgressions
Ode to Tiger Woods, my hero no more
I must confess
I had these transgressions on the golf course
I knew the rules going in
And I went in swinging from the heels
I putted around
Played with my balls
Even kissed them for good luck
I laid up when I should have used my driver
Now these transgressions won’t get me out of the woods (sic)
And I don’t want them publicized
That would make me look like I was playing in the rough
Every now and then I use my long iron very well
It brings an ah! from the crowd
My woody is my best friend, has got me out of many a jam
Now I feel like I’m in a sand trap
And don’t want to hit a tree with my next shot
Yes I’m sorry for of these transgressions
But I’ll just keep my scorecard in my back pocket

Here I Come-4
Holy holy is He
So merciful
Lion and King
Wonderful Counselor
Holy holy
Holy holy is He
Holy holy is He
Forever holy.
Most High God
Holy holy
Prince of Peace
Mighty Redeemer
King of Kings
Most High God
Holy holy
Holy holy is He
Holy holy is He
Forever holy.
Take my sins
As far as the east
Is from the west
Purge me
With your precious blood
Shelter me
From the storms
Cover me
With your glory
Holy holy
Holy holy is He
Holy holy is He
Forever holy.
You are so holy
You went to the cross
For me
So holy
You bled for me
So holy
You paid a price
I could not pay
Holy holy
Holy holy is He
Holy holy is He
Forever holy.

Today... 'The Comforter
This poor man cried and the Lord heard his voice
Placed a new song in his mouth causing him to rejoice
The great Comforter from heaven came to comfort me
With His arms outstretched on that cross at Calvary.
The Holy Spirit convicted me of sin and shame
And showed me that Jesus had borne the blame
So I knelt there before the cross to confess
with true conviction my unworthiness.
My sins forgiven and my soul began to revive
The Holy Spirit empowered me I came alive
Then as my constant companion he illumined me
Opening my eyes to all spiritual reality
Leading me into the Truth written in God's word
And teaching me more about Jesus my Lord.

Flashs Confession
Ive just had a dream that I never will forget,
And I wish I could erase.
I was standing on the street with a whole crowd of people
And no one knew my name.
And I was just another face
No one looked at me or touched me
Spoke to or acknowledged me.
I had no identity or individuality
No thoughts of my own, no mind or personality.
I was just a no one, a total nonentity
Im just a number waiting to be called.
It is time for confessing it all,
Im just another face,
Yes, its time for confessing it all.
Been a cheat, been a crook,
Never gave I always took.
Crushed people to acquire
Anything that I desired.
Been deceitful and a liar
Now Im facing hell fire.
I cant believe that my time has come
For confessing all the evil
And the wrong that Ive done.
The reckonings come
And now Im just a no one.
I confess to the timid and the meek
To the cripples and the beggars
And the tramps in the street.
I confess my cruelty, my ego and conceit,
Ive opened up my body and looked inside
And Im everything that I once despised.
I confess for the thieves,
The affected and deranged,
I confess for the muggers and incurably insane,
I confess to the ugly for being vain,
I confess to those I hurt for causing them pain.
Im just a number
Waiting to be called
And its time for confessing it all,
And Im just another face,
And it is time for confessing it all,
Yes, its time for confessing it all,
Yes, its time for confessing it all.

Speak the truth and you'll be heard.
She told me she cared,
I knew she lied,
She told them she cared,
They knew she lied,
She said she wanted me to be the best,
I knew she lied,
She said to them she wanted me to be the best,
They knew she lied,
She whispered she loved me,
I knew she lied,
She whispered to them she loved me,
They knew she lied,
She pretended everything when I was there,
She pretended to love me,
She pretended to care,
She said she wanted me to be happy,
We all knew the truth was not what she speak,
We all knew the truth was just about to leak,
We all knew the truth would come out,
We all knew the truth, with no doubt,
She was just like the people surrounding,
Pretending, acting, lying,
So the truth is what I spoke when I spoke to her,
I told her the truth is true, the truth is fair,
I told her...
If it's a lie, don't say another word,
However, speak the truth, and you'll be heard,
To lie to someone who truly loves you for you,
Is one of the most cruel things you can ever do,
To let them believe what you say to them is true,
When really all your thinking about is you, you and you.

Tell Me Why
Tell me why you cried, and why you lied to me
Tell me why you cried, and why you lied to me
Well I gave you everything I had
But you left me sittin on my own
Did you have to treat me oh so bad?
All I do is hang my head and moan
Tell me why you cried, and why you lied to me
Tell me why you cried, and why you lied to me
If theres something I have said or done
Tell me what and Ill apologize
If you dont, I really cant go on
Holding back these tears in my eyes
Tell me why you cried, and why you lied to me
Tell me why you cried, and why you lied to me
(hey!)
Well Im begging on my bended knees
If youll only listen to my pleas
If theres anything I can do
cos I really cant stand it, Im so in love with you
Ohhhhhh!

The Savior And The Judge
Christ Jesus is coming back real soon as The Savior and The Judge.
He will be returning to this earth from His Majestic Throne up above,
For all power and authority from God has been placed in His hands.
And every single man, by His Word, will either fall or he will stand.
Friend, although many in the world today have plainly been deceived,
When Christ returns to earth in Power and Glory every eye will see.
Every willful life of ignorance, indeed shall cease and be no more.
And every man with a mind will know it is Christ who’s at the door.
The time is now to allow The Lord to be your Savior and your friend,
For when this life is over friend, you’ll have an eternity to spend.
If you choose to deny The Lord with a heart that just won’t budge,
You will stand before The One God proclaimed Everlasting Judge.
It doesn’t matter where you’re from or where you plan to one day go,
For everyone will indeed acknowledge God, and this you need to know.
And every tongue shall indeed confess That Jesus Christ is The Lord.
And as you bow before Him, you shall, by Him, be eternally ignored.
While all who believe in Christ and by their lives showed they cared,
Will hear “Well done, come in and enjoy what My Father has prepared.”
All who scoffed at Heaven above and at Hell in the grave that is beneath,
Will be cast into darkness, where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth.
You Ask Me To Confess
bewildered about what's going on
outside your world
beyond those veils and curtains
you beg that i confess
what you see in me is what you really are,
and this you ask that
i must confess all my sins
so i can be saved
from what? my silence is asking.
as a friend there are matters to be reconsidered
saving my soul is never any other person's business
i even have to find a location for it when it wants to rest
my silence is a rock in the middle of the river's rage.
there is a black bird there that sings under the whiteness of the clouds
drinking every raindrop
that we do not expect to fall in the middle of a bright day
i need not confess
there are so many poems written and scattered everywhere
that i made
they have mouths and in the corners of the lonely nights
they all sing my own madness
both on sadness and joys,
they have said everything that you badly want to hear.

The Truth It Can Be Hurtful
I may not like what you say of me but if of me you speak the truth
Though the truth it can be hurtful if it is not spoken without ruth
The truth cannot defame me if of me the truth you say
And if the truth taints my character well that too is okay.
But if you tell lies about someone and know them to be lies
Then the dislike I'd feel for one like you i barely could disguise
For lies can be defamatory when used in such a way
Any respect to a malicious liar i would find hard to pay.
The truth it can be hurtful as we all ought to know
But out of the truth it can be said respect for one does grow
And though you may not like what's said about you at least what's said is true
And to the one who speaks the truth credit is always due.
The truth it can be hurtful but the truth is never wrong
And those who cannot accept the truth mentally cannot grow strong
And though for some the truth is poison they'd rather live a lie
The truth lives on forever and the truth will never die.

A Chocolate Teapot
I wanted a chocolate tea-pot
As a gift for a good friend’s birth-day
But I did feel a bit of a clot
Searching for this on e-Bay
I found a chocolate giraffe
And a chocolate kangaroo
But they wouldn’t give her the laugh
That a chocolate teapot would do
I decided to make one myself
And bought a huge Galaxy slab
Very bad for the general health
But for my plan was perfectly fab
I fashioned it into a pot
Melting it using some heat
Using kettle and water so hot
It really was quite a feat
This teapot I have to confess
Had lumps for handle and spout
And although I got in a mess
Was happy the way it turned out
My friend sent a note in blue ink
“My teapot is fab, may I say....
It wasn’t as useless as most people think
I scoffed the lot in one day! ”
