Emotional Storm
Seeking refuge in the surreal atmosphere
of the opera Tales of Hoffmann, my mind
imploding, falling in upon itself in violent
reaction to an overdose of politics
No comfort as yet in the safety of the library,
no intellect left - cannot reflect - a strangling
headache, got a book to cushion the leftover
splinters of my emotions, to cool the fever
Of hatred for cold political texts that reduce
me to the state of a vegetable, Jung’s tests
said this reaction is immature, everybody
must learn to get along without the lure
Of imagination and beauty; Sonia Choquette
said we should be inured to images of pain,
violence and suffering; so be it, I cannot pass
the threshold of pain caused by such studies
Tried so hard I lost my mind, feels like my
brain cannot recuperate - no synapse will
ever fire again, listening to Barcarolle over
and over, the only calming sound
In this emotional storm...

Open Book's Monologue Part 5: Welcome To The Library!
Welcome to the library! come one come all
Welcome to the library! come with your brethren on this wall
Welcome to the library! come all you books tattered or new
Welcome to the library! come tired and overdue
Yes welcome to the library the place where you're most mundane
Yes welcome to the library the place where you're to endure most pain
Yes welcome to the library where you'll sit unwanted
Yes welcome to the library where you'll sit haunted
Yes welcome to the library where everyone's just like you
Yes welcome to the library where we're all books too!
Yes welcome to the library where you can take comfort
Yes welcome to the library where In the fact you're no longer unique
Yes welcome to the library You're just pen marks ink
Departing the library? I think not, even if you get out we'll bring you back
Departing the library? Here you rot, but we'll dust you to ease your passing
Departing the library? Don't make me laugh, here you're black and white
Departing the library? Nobody argues on your behalf, look more amassing
Welcome to the library! A place of keeping and safety
Welcome to the library! Take your place you'll like it, just wait and see
Welcome to the library! New books don't mind the old they're disillusioned
Welcome to the library! You've sold your soul... but it's too late for you
so WELCOME

Reaction To Action
(spoken: check 1, 1, 1)
Alright
Its hard getting through to me
Im truly elusive
I got my own point of view
I am the one of a kind
And I tell you lil girl
Im fascinated by you
Theres something about you
That makes all the difference
Like the night is to day
Well I can get along without you
But I know that within you
Youve got what Im missing
And Ill find a way
To get reaction to action
Hey, say the word that would thrill me
Yeah, I need reaction to action
Just one look that would kill me
You got a way of drawing attention to you
You know you stand out in a crowd
But the way that you play
With any mans affections
Should never be allowed
See I consider myself
The one who will show you
Id go as far as to say
Girl, I aint leaving here without you
But you better understand
Theres only one rule in this game were gonna play
And thats reaction to action
Maybe like a word that would thrill me
I need reaction to action
One look that would kill me
Give me reaction to action
Its getting late Id better make a definite move
Reaction to action
And after that baby, its up to you
I need reaction to action
Just a word that would thrill me
I need reaction to action
You know what Im talking about
Give me some reaction to action
You got a look, you got a way thatll kill me
Reaction to action, reaction to action, action
Baby, dont think about it, just react
Reaction to action
Reaction to action
Reaction to action
Reaction to action
Reaction to action
Reaction to action

The Septic Tank
Receipt, Reaction and Response
Are the phenomena of life.
Receipt of stimuli from the environs;
Reaction in the mind and intellect;
Response produced from stimuli.
Mind is accumulation of experience;
Intellect is accumulation of knowledge.
Mind and intellect form a unit,
Where input is churned and output is made.
Good water comes out as dirty water
When the unit is a washing machine.
Dirty water comes as good water
When the unit is a septic tank.

Chain Reaction
Something bout the way
The moon and the stars are moving across the sky
Something in the still night air is telling me now is the time to try
Ive been scheming, dreaming up a plan of how to get to you
Now conditions are right deep in the night
To do what Ive got to do
To start up a chain, chain, chain, chain reaction
Chain, chain, chain, chain reaction
Im no fool, Ill be cool
Its a powerful thing that Im trying to do
Gonna fix it up, mix it up good
Handle with care like I know I should
And blow it sky high, sky high
With a chain, chain, chain, chain reaction
Chain, chain, chain, chain reaction
Set a spark to the heart
That will start up the soul attraction
Get to the mystery of the chemistry
Chain, chain reaction
Chain, chain reaction
(repeat)
That fires up the satisfaction
Chain, chain reaction
Chain, chain reaction

Pain
Like the pain in my trick arm
the pain i feel is my heart beating
and my muffled breathing
i stand outside staring at the sun
having my morning cigarrette
smiling at the earth that lay so cool around me
people walk by but do they see that my smile
is just my cover
do they see the pain inside
im complicated and hard to read
like the scars on my wrists my smiles fade
like the fresh blood they bleed
a new thought comes into mind
the blood stains like the marked impresion
on my heart of all the things i love
and all the ppl i care for
when i look back now and see
all the pain i have caused others
and the pain they have caused me
it breakes my heart to remember how cold
i used to be
my pain flows every day and stuff happends
it hurts and sometimes i wish i could freeze
and heal my wounds and the wounds of others
but pain will never stop coming so its best
not to let it get you and take over

Lose Consciousness
A headache used to seem like Divine wrath,
discomfort and pain like a manifestation of
total rejection which called for withdrawal,
but now it is clear this is only chemical
reaction to the food I consume
Once, long ago, I stopped eating, lost the pain
and the desire to live all in one - now I partake
of what is on offer - bless the food, suffer the
consequences in silence, bury my resentment
against an unfeeling world
Not caring that I am pulled into the abyss by
fatigue and depression - wish I could reach
out, find someone holding me tight when I
fall - this has never happened because I
turn away when in pain
Like a wild animal, slink off alone into my own
private space, it's no surprise no-one knows
what's going on, I only confess to people far
away, fearing their eyes, fearing sympathy
and criticism equally
A world of books, theories and dreams, an
inner sanctum - a soap-bubble fantasy in
which I take refuge - once it falls away
also, disappearing into the black hole
in my mind
I have to lose consciousness…

Tears of Blood
It's dark and cold in this room, the feel of cracked busted wood floors on my skin as I am thrown against it, and millions of long splinters pierce into me.
blood ripples out of the little pain ridden holes, and falls into the cracks, but no sound of drops come from the dark never ending oblivion were my dreams are lost to never be found.
It feels as if my heart runs cold, my mind runs blank, my stomach turns to fire, and my vomit turns to blood.
The walls are closing in around me till the life is squeezed out of my soul.
My bones cracking and crunching, my blood flowing out of my veins and burning the darkest most vial red, my heart pounded stabbed crushed and beaten until no pulse is herd, till feelings were nothing but fear and pain, now I'm left in this dark corner, alone and crying cause no one has come to save me from this hell!

Status Quo [Revised]
Reaction to a snack of substances my digestion
rejects as banned has me staring at this screen
in stupefaction - unable to interpret anything
Floating in an emotional void, clinging to the fact
I’m in an office, trying to read and react to texts
that remain mysterious to me, at least this way
The world will still be a mystery; I cannot achieve
mastery of anything while consciousness flickers
on and off, caught in the wild fire of interrupted
Brain circuitry & gyrating synapses, dark spots
in front of my eyes weakening my sight, desperately
trying to do research till I give up, sit back in defeat,
Power spent, admit the day is lost, cannot find the
beginning of a line of thought, cannot follow a single
argument, even pictures dance away from me,
surrendering to the confusion, accepting the
chaos in my mind as status quo…

Stand in The Rain
She stands bellow the tree,
As she looks out towards the sea.
Her eyes see the blue, yet her mind is lost,
It has left her on it's journey remembering what it lost.
The breeze blows though her dark crimson hair,
And still she does not blink, she only stares.
She stares though nothing only seeing pain,
The pain that has left her standing in the rain.
The rain falls around her on the sea,
Yet still she stands under the tree,
It will not leave her, it will not go,
What she has seen will never go,
She will always remain alone,
She remains in the wind as it moans,
She feels movement of the air,
Yet she does not hear it, she does not fear,
Se fears not the storm, only the pain,
She stands by the side of the sea, stands in the rain.
She stands here, still,
As the pain begons to kill.
She stands and looks past her heart through the pain,
As she stands in the rain.

Give Into Hate
Violence surrounds me
Violence in society
Violence in our eyes
Violence in their cries
Violence it's our fate?
Violence, it's too late?
Violence, no escape?
Violence, give into hate?
Is it human nature to act like animals?
We're all guilty, we're all criminals
Selfish species headed for a self destruction
Violent product of moral corruption
Violence for love
Violence because of hate
Violence, revolution
Violence of the state
Violence, you will find
Violence, it grips your mind
Violence, it's too late?
Violence, give into hate

Delayed Reaction
Music: hall
Lyrics: hall/oates/s. allen
You strike a low blow
You fight a dirty fight
Right to the heart youre putting me away
Time was movin slow
But I was in control
There were so many things I shouldve said
But couldnt think of one word
(delayed reaction) oh yeah
At first I was ashamed
Then I was inflamed
I wanted to hurt you
Say that (delayed reaction) oh no
At first I was alright
And then I had to fight
I wanted to hurt you
I wanted to hurt you so
It was a backlash
No I couldnt let it pass
I was so mad I couldnt keep it down
I made it real tough
Ooh I had to blow you off
I couldnt stand it having you around
I couldnt stand the sound, no
(delayed reaction) oh yeah
At first I was ashamed
And then I was inflamed
I wanted to hurt you
Say that (delayed reaction) oh no
At first I was alright
And then I had to fight with you
I wanted to hurt you
I wanted to hurt you so
But if the rage is right
Then you better be wrong
cause if I force a fight well then Im twice a fool
Ooh, I couldve listened more
Was that what you were waiting for?
I cant imagine why
I cant imagine why
I cant imagine why youd wanna let it go
I didnt wanna blow but
(delayed reaction) oh yeah
At first I was ashamed
And then I was inflamed
I wanted to hurt you
Say that delayed reaction oh no
At first I was alright
And then I had to fight with you
I wanted to hurt you so
(delayed reaction) oh yeah
Ooh I had to fight, fight, fight you
(delayed reaction oh no)
Just had to let the love blow to fight a dirty fight
9delayed reaction oh yeah)
What good is saying I lost my head I didnt mean it girl
(delayed reaction) oh no
Ooh baby, ooh baby
I cant imagine why you want to let it go
(delayed reaction)
Ooh, yeah the boys are fine and Im twice the fool
(delayed reaction) oh no
I cant imagine why, I cant imagine why

Was It Justice?
Tie my black boots
grab my glasses
no detention in either one of my classes
suit up, raining hard get the packing
step out, and my thoughts dropp to ashes
i walk my life with a bag full of confidence
tied tight for the problems come to deal with
cold wind come to match with my cold mind
from the bright lights and diamonds that made her blind
success blow the failure off my eye caps
as the dust blow a scale on my combats
Sweety, ill be gone till December
and i left the break up to the fugee in november
my mind filled with pain, and the world filled with rubbish
we never go on trips but we always got some luggage
the pain in the eyes is a cry out for justice
does the tip of that raft mean a cry out for peace
i wonder if it could whipe out the hatred in the streets or...
the hatred in my brain with that knife to the vain
does that make you even feel the same?
i step off the curb into a puddle of the shame
i sink deeper in my thoughts as my heart fill with pain
so now...was that raft for the peace?
or was it just a tear for our justice off the leash

Learn To Be Silent
Each night on earth is full of pain.
Heart, learn to be silent.
The hard souls, hard shields
reflect light from the home of the stars.
Your lament makes you weaker.
Heart, learn to be silent.
Only silence heals, silence hardens,
untouchedly chaste and guiltlessly true.
You seek suffering's ardent life!
Heart, learn to be silent.
By wounds and fever no one is made strong.
Bright as steel is heaven's stronghold.

The Scars That U Leave
I don’t know how much more
How much more I can take
Of this crap you keep doing
Every night I go to bed
With the scars of the day
Scars that you inflicted
And the pain searing through my body
A pain that was caused by your hands
Inflicted by your hatred
A pain remembered the next morning
Only to be added to that night
A never ending pain
As the wounds are never left to heal
But are added to
Over and over again
Know I add a new pain
A pain I inflict on myself
A cut that you didn’t make
But was caused by you all the same

S.i.b.
Got a nervous kind of feeling
Got a painful yellow headache
Every picture in every magazine's turned real
Every face looks out and screams at me too real
Cold sweat on my collar
Dripping to my boots
The waves of nauseous pain
Sets off the pressure pad alarms
Gotta get outta here
Gotta get outta here
Gotta get outta here
Gotta get outta here
Gotta painful swelling brain
Banging in my head
Gotta painful swelling brain
And i called off sick
Gotta swelling itching pain
Got me pulling out my hair
Gotta swelling itching pain
Clutching at my brain
Got me laying on the floor
Think i left my senses
Seems like endless torture
Got me pulling out my hair
Driving me up the wall
Dripping out my eyes ears nose and mouth
Imploding my thoughts
Blasting holes in the front lawn now
Going outta my skull
Burning up my thoughts
Tearing me apart

An Avalanche of Words (Revised)
June easily explained my document, me being
an alien in a legal world, reading formulations
and provisos that had me falling down ice-cold
in fright; my brain left me in detention, buried
alive in an avalanche of terminology that kept
falling on my head
To my colleague this stuff is easily explained,
no guessing game - yet I cannot surface for air,
unfortunately I do not have her savoir faire and
cool mastery of benchmark idioms, my mind
cannot unbend and learn stratagems of legal
phrasing and make lists for future reference
Pain at back of my head informs my body it is
time to play dead, a limited vocabulary does
not allow me to decipher arcane language used
in Courts of Law, if only I could teach my brain
but it has been stubborn from the very start -
refusing to do my will

Comfort In Sound
We fall right in and suffer the sins
Try to pull things round when the air starts to thin
We nurse regrets, restricted in our own belief
A new disease
We shake new hands, the victims of fate
We tread new ground misfortune conveys
You tear yourself apart
Wishing to be born again
A different man
(chorus)
Comfort in sound
Its all around
Ease back the strain
Come heal your pain
Comfort in sound
Its all around you now
Comfort in sound
We suffer love together as one
An empty heart with nowhere to turn
We find ourselves looking back another way
A brand new day
(chorus)
Comfort in sound
Its all around
Ease back the strain
Come heal your pain
Comfort in sound
Its all around you now - yeah
Solution gone, emotions ablaze
A life so strong just faded away
You find yourself searching for a quick release
A new belief
(chorus)
Comfort in sound
Its all around
Ease back the strain
Come heal your pain
Comfort in sound
Its all around you now
Comfort in sound

Pain - The Inside Story
Have you seen pain?
No you cannot see.
No you cannot feel.
Only the one who is suffering!
He can see pain.
All you can see is the tears from his eyes.
All you listen, his shivering scream and cries.
You just becomes witness and pray to God.
Still nothing happens and you become sad.
Pain comes to your near or dear.
Brings us more closer to your dear.
Pain comes to any neighbor or stranger.
You close your eyes and then who care.
Transform your pain into creativity.
Transform your pain into spirituality.
Then pain becomes your emotions.
This will cure all your tensions.
Let it flow from heart, instead of body.
Let it flow from soul as your creativity.
- Like words flowing as poetry.
- Like colors flowing as painting.
Then whole world seems changing.
You can see the change in geometry.
The last secret of pain is yet to tell.
Pain is heaven and also pain is hell.
Pain is north pole, pain is south pole.
In our life pain plays an important role.
Pain are two opposite shores of happiness.
One is the beginning other is the end.
One is the Sunset other is the sunrise.
One brings light other brings darkness.
Pain is reaction of our actions.
Pain is results of our 'Karmas.'
What wrong we do, pain is the byproduct.
What right we do still pain is the byproduct.
In first case pain is stored.
In final case pain is released.
Eat chilly for first time, see the pain of belly.
When chilly is released again see the pain of belly.
See the pain when you get cramp.
See the pain when you release the cramp.
This is my inside story about the pain.
I hope my words will not go in vain.

Happening
Flames burn.
Water cycles.
Stars shine.
Wind blows.
Earth falls.
These are events.
Subtle reactions.
Chemical reactions.
Reaction, reaction, reaction.
This is a reaction.
You are a reaction.
Catalyst.
Action, interaction, reaction.
Reactant, reactor, event.
Occurring, never occurred.
No You, No I, No we.
Us, reacting together.
Distilling together,
Combining and purifying together,
Us.
Playing, acting, dancing, swimming,
loving, believing, longing, hating, sadding, madding, flying,
plying, vying, scrying, inviting, denying, trying, dying.
Being.
