Bar Ditches And Far Flung Wishes

All I can do is try to keep myself
somewhere between the bar ditches
and my far flung wishes.
Somewhere between all alone and you.
Somewhere between the bottle and sober.
Right now is definitely bar ditch time.
So play some Hank and pass the Jack
and hope for the days of far flung wishes.

A Little Merman (Fun Poem 51)

Just beyond the reef
where the little fishes swim
there lives a little merman
and his name is Gunga Din.
He frolics in the ocean
from morning to night,
playing with the mermaids
is his hearts delight.

One day while playing
on the ocean floor
Gunga din found a bottle
with a Genie trapped within.
He opened the bottle
and set the Genie free.
The Genie then said to him.
“Three wishes I now grant to thee.”

“Three wishes? What are those? ”
Gunga Din asked the Genie.
“Wishes are made
for anything you want,
and then I will make them come true.”
“But I have no need for wishes.
I have everything my heart desires.”
“But surely there is something
that you would like most of all? ”

Gunga Din shook his head.
“There is nothing I require.”
“Nothing? ” Asked the Genie.
“Nothing.” Gunga Din replied.
“You see Mr Genie
I have everything I need.
I am completely satisfied
with everything I have got.”

“The oceans are my gardens
to play around all day within.
I have plenty of friends
to keep me company.
So what do I need your wishes for?
I have everything I’ll ever need.”

“But I must grant you three wishes
for setting me free
and If you won’t take the wishes
I cannot be free.“
Gunga thought for a moment.
This cannot be right.
Everyone must be free
to do as they wish.

“Get back in the bottle, Mr Genie.
I’ll take you to some distant sandy shore.
I’ll put you on the beach
for someone to find.
I’m sure in that greedy world out there,
that there is someone
who will take up your wishes
and set you free.

Wishies Down The River

the river run pass the the land
taking your wishes in it stride
pass flowers of different colours
and rocks of different shapes

under old brigdes
and brigdes of new
where it takes my wishes
pass the mountins of snow

through the night
when sky is clean
and the river reflexs the the beauty
of the star light glow

the river run through the day
and skys of blue
where it takes my wishes
straight to you

Sunday Break

All made me busy
That came in my way
shopping, laughing friends
I did not noticed
Time was running
Like a bullet out of gun
I kept myself
In my wishes so big
My hands were empty
When I looked at them
As empty as schools in holidays
Or office at sundays
My mind was full of many wishes
Sunday was too short
To have my all wishes
Time ran out
And I did nothing but to pass the time
I killed the time
Now night so precious to relax
Tomorrow will be another day
People will hurry
To make the world populous
Traffic will be jammed
Minds will be tortured

Heavens Dead

Anchor the night, open the sky
Hide in the hours before sunrise
Pray for me not, I won't lose sight
Of where I belong and where you lie
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Shipwreck the sun, I'm on your side
An army of one, onward we'll ride
And whisper your songs, birds to the air
We'll bury all of our burdens there
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Best time you had
For the best time you had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
I'll take it all, arrows or guns
Hundreds or more to save you from one
Save you from one
And Where I'll be
Heaven's dead when you get sad

Time In A Bottle

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that Id like to do
Is to save every day
Till eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
Id save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
Ive looked around enough to know
That youre the one I want to go
Through time with
If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
Ive looked around enough to know
That youre the one I want to go
Through time with

The Capture

Best wishes to those
Whose hearts dropp in sorrow!
Best wishes and joy...
For a brighter Sun kissed tomorrow!
The clouds that darken within will fade.
Like the moon reflecting light,
With a serenading escapade!
Best wishes come...
If you choose them to stay?
And drift away those gloom filled days,
When happiness is invited and excites...
The capture you radiate,
And display!

Body Wishes

(stewart, cregan, savigar, le mesurier)
The night closes in on another day
As the oldest games gettin underway
On the minds of a million people body wishes
So you climb on the carousel and take a chance
The same old ritual the same old dance
The hardest thing to resist is body wishes
If the fire down belows gettin worse and worse
Youre so close to shootin that you want to burst
Somebodys sponge needs squeezin body wishes
What do I say
Nobody gonna tell ya
Where do I go
Somewhere someonell have ya
Who do I tell
Anybody thatll listen
No one should know
Wont solve the problem
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes
Away in the distance a baby cries
But you know somebodys by her side
The night drags on forever body wishes
You can hear the tickin of a lonely clock
The howlin wind that just wont stop
Somebodys cherries need pickin body wishes
What do I say
Nobody gonna tell ya
Where do I go
Somewhere someonell have ya
Who do I tell
Anybody thatll listen
No one should know
Wont solve the problem
Itll tear you apart like an angry sea
Keep you warm like a summer breeze
Its all weve got in a cold cold world
Is to love someone
Body wishes, body wishes
Somethings happenin in the air
It feels so close but you dont know where
The poorest peoples riches body wishes
And the cheatin hearts never learn
Someday somewhere gonna be your turn
Dont start what you cant finish body wishes
What do I say
Nobody gonna tell ya
Where do I go
Somewhere someonell have ya
Who do I tell
Anybody thatll listen
No one should know
That wont solve the problem
Where do I run
Anywhere thatll hide ya
Wholl be the one
Yeah
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes

The Life that we are part of

one life
one soul
shared by
entities

all added
up to one
larger life

the river
freezes
because it
it is telling
the sun
not to go
too far

the moon
hangs out
in the night
because
it wishes
to share
the secrets
of the sun

the cloud
comes down
as rain
because
it wishes to
share with
all the glory
of the sky

the trees
bear fruits
because
it wishes
to thank all
for giving air
as well as
hellp spread
their kinds

the sky is
thunder and
lightning
because
it wishes
to throw
a balance
between earth
and sky

the world is
getting hotter
because
it wishes
to tell us
we have gone
against its order

Another Good Reason

(harley allen/carson chamberlain)
I woke up the other night
Lying on the floor
Right beside someone
Ive never seen before
She said my names juliet
And romeo you aint
Thats another good reason not to drink
Thats another good reason not to drink
When Im sober Im almost a saint
If I keep going on like this
Ill end up like ole hank
Thats another good reason not to drink
I cant go see my best friend
He said stay away
Just because of what I said
On his wedding day
He oughta call a sherman
Cause she looks just like a tank
Thats another good reason not to drink
Thats another good reason not to drink
When Im sober Im almost a saint
If I keep going on like this
Ill end up like ole hank
Thats another good reason not to drink
Im gonna sue to city
About that policeman
Last night as I left the bar
He stepped right on my hand
He said are you drunk or blind?
I said let me think.
Thats another good reason not to drink
Thats another good reason not to drink
When Im sober Im almost a saint
If I keep going on like this
Ill end up like ole hank
Thats another good reason not to drink
Thats another good reason not to drink
When Im sober Im almost a saint
If I keep going on like this
Ill end up like ole hank
Thats another good reason
Baby let me in Im freezing
Another good reason not to drink

Never let the 'Hope' die...!

Hopes are feathers, a wish is a bird
One may find this simile a little absurd

Hold on, do not lose patience
As I will explain to you the essence

Behind this there is a theory
I shall relate this with a story

Feathers, they keep the bird warm
Likewise hopes keep our wishes strong

Clip the feathers and the bird will not fly
Were it not for hope our wishes would die

My fellow beings, listen to what i have to say
Keep on hoping, what you wish for will come your way

Let your wishes, as birds, freely fly
As long as your hope, you never let die.

The Hapiest Christmas

Oh the happiest christmas
Is a homecoming christmas
With the snow fluttering down til the world seems new
Bright candles burning
Old friends returning
The wishes of children coming true
And the happiest wishes are just old-fashioned wishes
May your days be merry, your sorrows be small
May the ones you love be near you
Thats the happiest christmas of all

Rainbow wishes

Rainbow wishes

Have you seen high up there in the very dark sky
Shining through stormy drops of heavy rain
Appearing like a colored stream
A rainbow inviting our imagination
To make us wish wishes full of dreams

Looking up there into the very dark sky
Seems as wonders could take place
Where does the rainbow come from
To make us wish wishes full of hope

Blinded by lightning up in the very dark sky
Us humble humans take shelter
Measuring tremendous strength of nature
To make us wish wishes full of caring

Astonished eyes search the very dark sky
Wondering why such beauty from above
Touches lightly our beloved earth
To make us wish wishes full of love

Watching slowly the incredible shades
Now definitively fading far away
As the rainbow disappears into cloudy sky
To make us wish wishes for a good earthly life

A Little Mermaid (Fun Poem 81)

For Meggie who suggested I write this.

Deep in the oceans
where the little fishes play
there lives a little mermaid
and her name is Haveagayday.
She is not sure how she got her name,
but it is her name no less,
it might have been her mother
who helped a fisherman in distress.

One day Haveagayday was playing
with her friend a little merman named Gunga Din.
While they played Bubbles, a moaning Clam
came floating by on his way.
He stopped for a moan
that could never be alone.
He said he couldn’t find a soft spot of sand to bury himself in.

Now Haveagayday and Gunga Din suggested
he go to some sandy beach
where the blue waters lap gently to the shore.
There in the golden sand
he could be on his own all day long.

Bubbles blew some more bubbles
and quickly whooshed away
leaving the little mermaid and merman
to continue with their play.
Several days later while playing near that spot
they met up with the moaning clam,
old Bubbles again.

“You said it would be quiet
in that place in the sun,
that I would have all the peace and quite I wanted.
Well you were wrong
with all those noisy surfers
all trying to crack my shell.”

Haveagayday and Gunga Din thought
about what they could do.
Then Gunga Din remembered
about his Genie friend.
If his bottle were still on the beach,
his three wishes would help Bubbles
get his peace and quiet.

Haveagayday and Gunga Din swam off
to find the Genie in the bottle
if he was still on the beach.
They found the beach
where Gunga Din had put the bottle.
They searched along the beach
hoping the bottle hadn’t been found.

Finally, they found the bottle
and Gunga Din pulled the cork
and set the Genie free.
The Genie came out in a puff of smoke.
“I have three wishes to grant thee.”
“I know Mr Genie and I’ll have those wishes
for you to grant to me.”

“Tell me what your wishes are
and I will make them come true.”
“We have a friend named Bubbles
who wants a quiet beach to live.”
“Granted.” The Genie said.

“My second wish is that Bubbles
has a friendly mate f
or when the loneliness gets too much.”
The Genie smiled and clicked his fingers
and the wish was done.
“You have one more wish. Do you want it now? ”
“Oh, yes please.”

“I have a friend who is a Genie
whom would like to be free.
My third wish is then that you set my Genie free
for now and ever more.”

The Genie snapped his fingers.
“Your wish has been granted.”
He then looked at Gunga Din.
“You know you wasted that last wish.
You could have kept it for something your heart desired.”
“But I did Genie. My wish for your freedom
was my hearts desire.
That you be, free forever more.”

Haveagayday and Gunga Din got married
later on that year.
The Best man at their wedding
was the Genie whom he set free.
Also at the Wedding
were Bubbles and his bride to be Cuddles.
Now they all live happily together
Haveagayday, Gunga Din, Bubbles, Cuddles
and of course the Genie
under the deep blue sea.

A Lonley Girls Wishes

a lonley girl wishes for one thing,
and one thing only,
to end her life,
only one person can changer her mind,
her lover,
because a lonley girl wishes for,
someone who can love her without being told,
someone who is warm and not cold,
a lonley girl wishes to be treated like gold,
they want to be loved,
they want to be held,
a lonley girl wishes to be out of danger zones,
they want no more than to die or be loved,
i would know,
i am a lonley girl and these are my wishes.

Nothing But Time

(by jackson browne & howard burke)
Rolling down 295 out of portland, maine
Still high from the people up there and feeling no pain
Gonna make it to new jersey, gonna set it up and do it again
I got a bottle of wine (pass it over)
I got a broken white line (Im still sober)
There aint nothin but time between this silver eagle
And that new jersey line
Well its a rock and roll band or a movie you can take your pick
And it aint bad work if you can get it
But you gotta make it stick
But getting any kind of sleep on this rolling motel--thats the trick
Its just a bottle of wine (pass it over)
Its just a broken white line (Im still sober)
Its just a whole lot of time in the twilight zone
Between me and these friends of mine

Lately

Lately, I have had the strangest feeling
With no vivid reason here to find
Yet the thought of losing yous been hanging
round my mind
Far more frequently youre wearing perfume
With you say no special place to go
But when I ask will you be coming back soon
You dont know, never know
Well, Im a man of many wishes
Hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes wont let me hide
cause they always start to cry
cause this time could mean goodbye
Lately Ive been staring in the mirror
Very slowly picking me apart
Trying to tell myself I have no reason
With your heart
Just the other night while you were sleeping
I vaguely heard you whisper someones name
But when I ask you of the thoughts your keeping
You just say nothings changed
Well, Im a man of many wishes
I hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes wont let me hide
cause they always start to cry
cause this time could mean goodbye, goodbye
Oh, Im a man of many wishes
I hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes wont let me hide
cause they always start to cry
cause this time could mean goodbye
