Nother Damn Poem

Tonight, when tiredness seeks you out and finds you,
I will reach for you,
fold you in my arms tenderly,
and tuck you in close.
We can laugh about it all, now.

If your shoulders ache,
and your neck is stiff I will caress them lightly
so carefully you will not notice
when the pain leaves.

If there are tears, I will brush them away
and take them to God
to exchange for blessings..
I will pray over you, warm you with love
and heal you with the gentleness you deserve.

When sleep comes, I will guard it like a jealous child...
if the wind howls and the night thunders, I will cover your ears
so you dream undisturbed.

If you startle awake, I will comfort you,
kiss your lips,
your eyelids,
your forehead,
until I feel you relax against me again,
your heartbeat next to mine.
Dawn will find you younger
than the night before.

Just For A Moment

I want to come home and find you sleeping
Slipping under the cover
Feeling the cool cotton sheets on my skin
I hear your breathing
Then you notice my presence
Just for a moment

Molding my body to your back
Carefully not to disturb you
Skin on skin - your skin on my skin
Your warmth is invading my senses
My hand trailing lightly along your arm
Just for a moment

Setting my heart by your heartbeat
You are the one I come home to
My fingers slightly brushing the hair on your thigh
Resting on your hip

Crushed

I'm so crushed when I think about you the need is so strong.
I think its going to devour me and drive me crazy.
I want you but your heart belongs to someone else.
I can't help but be jealous of her, then i began to think.....
What's it like to kiss your lips?
What's it like to feel your arms around me?
What's it like to lay with you and put my head on your chest and feel each heartbeat?
Will my daydream ever become a reality? it it meant to be?
The ache comes back and the only cure is you.
Your kisses, your hugs, your strong arms around me telling me your mine and mine alone.

Ghosts

YES--kiss my forehead where the pain
Is grinding outwards from my brain!

All day long I waited for this

The End

It is time for me to go, mother; I am going.
When in the paling darkness of the lonely dawn you stretch out
your arms for your baby in the bed, I shall say, "Baby is not
here!"-mother, I am going.
I shall become a delicate draught of air and caress you and
I shall be ripples in the water when you bathe, and kiss you and
kiss you again.
In the gusty night when the rain patters on the leaves you
will hear my whisper in your bed, and my laughter will flash with
the lightning through the open window into your room.
If you lie awake, thinking of your baby till late into the
night, I shall sing to you from the stars, "Sleep, mother, sleep."
One the straying moonbeams I shall steal over your bed, and
lie upon your bosom while you sleep.
I shall become a dream, and through the little opening of your
eyelids I shall slip into the depths of your sleep; and when you
wake up and look round startled, like a twinkling firefly I shall
flit out into the darkness.
When, on the great festival of puja, the neighbours' children
come and play about the house, I shall melt into the music of the

Never could I get,

Too exhausted.

And I keep my breath,
Minted fresh.
As we caress.

I
Last night I saw you decked to meet
The coming of those most reluctant feet:
The little bonnet that you wear
When you would fain, for his sake, be more fair;
The primrose ribbons that so grace
The perfect pallor of your face;
The dark gown folded back about the throat,
And folds of lacework that denote
All that beneath them, just beneath them, lies:
God, for his eyes!

So the man came and took you; and we lay
So near and yet so far away,
You in his arms, awake for joy, and I
Awake for very misery,
Cursing a sleepless brain that would but scrawl
Your image on the aching wall,
That would but pang me with the sense
Of that most sweet accursed violence

Loving Pain

Can you love when your heart is so cold
Love on your lips and lies in your eyes unfold
You’ve convoluted the truth of what is real
How can you love when you don’t want to heal

Your pain is your lover now cant you see
Your pain you have discovered keeps you free
If you share your pain with me vulnerable you will be
To vulnerable to concede that love is something you need

Let me touch you let me kiss you gently in that spot
Where they cut and poisoned the wound still burning hot
It’s not a matter of trust or you would run to my arms
It’s a matter of keeping close the pain that causes you harm

You caress your pain it belongs only to you
You exchange the shame for strength and truth
The unknown your fear the pain is near and dear
Every tear it becomes clear year after countless tears

I don’t care if you lie to me I can read between the lines
I don’t care if you care or not I care I wont deny
And when you let me in to tend and mend your pain
