Child Poets
She, little girl dancing
with heart-red shoes
laughing.
She smiled
a tinker-bell smile
which
cozied up to
warm your insides;
teaching you how to skip
and sand play;
to learn again how to
use a shovel and pail,
see fairies in the woodsy leaves,
magic and delight
in words and play.
Children are natural poets;
they Dream
so easily.

- 6. May.2006 -
Unsuspecting children play, nothing seems amiss
They are jumping, they are running, they’re just ‘being kids’
Unsuspecting children play, unnoticing this little girl
She is crying, she is dying, carrying the weight of the world
Unsuspecting children play, laughing to themselves
They are so unknowing of this little girls living hell
Unsuspecting children play, having so much fun
This girl is used to being bullied, but she’s not the only one
Unsuspecting children play, unknowing of this pain
They don’t even see this girl… they don’t let her join their game
Unsuspecting children play, as a young girls life falls apart
They don’t even suspect; this little girl ‘self-harms’

Children Of The Morning
Little girl I watch you sway
Captured in your dream today
Sunshine chasing clouds away
And rainbows coming out to play.
Little boy I hear you laugh
Subject of a photograph
Chocolate ice-cream and coloured balloons
Dancing to such simple tunes.
Little girl you push your dolls
In their buggies through shopping malls
Guarding them from trolls and giants
Reverie defying science.
Little boy play your war games
The enemy is left in flames
Tragically, live only 3
Magically revived after tea.
Little girl listen to the breeze
Just know the moon's made out of cheese.
Little boy just fish for stars
And keep them in your old jam jars.
Children, now your world is new
-Know nothing that just can't come true
That fairies couldn't grant for you.
Life is forever as day is dawning
Never say never
Children of the morning.

Skip Away
I was walking, talking today
And a little girl came skipping my way
Reciting some silly nonsense song
Wasn't long before she was gone
' skip a rope '
A good friend in the middle of the night
rang up involved in her plight
On her behalf could I say a few words
Why of course and now they are heard
' skip a rope '
Then when the Sun comes out to play
We all perk up and listen to her say
Then we all smile from deeply inside
And from within the Sunshine can't hide
' skip a rope '
And with sadness you have to go
Across the ocean so far it's so
But when you land you extend your hand
from there to here and back again
' skip a rope '

Show Some Love
In fairyland all the fairies
Love to laugh and play-
Even all the fairies know
Poets who are sweet and kind
With a sense of humour
Are the best of friends
You don't have to look hard to find
A real friend, who will laugh and play
If you know how to be a friend-
Even all the fairies know
If you haven't anything nice to say
Don't create a bad day..
If you are a real poet or poetess
Show some love, if not go away!

The Sunny Months
Poets write of May and June,
But seldom mention warm July,
And August is neglected too
Is this because few words will rhyme?
July and August spell out summer
When children play upon the sand,
Away from lessons ~ life is joyful,
Free from teacher's binding hand.
September is a lovely month
Leaves take flight along the lane.
Summer's over, back to lessons
School friends smiling once again.

We've Got The Magic
All I need is a place in my heart
To keep me happy 'til the day I die
All I want is a place in my soul
To reach up far and touch the sky
It's magic
We've got the smile that'll make you laugh (ha)
A special way to show you it's real
Some people think it's a touch of class
But you know it's just the way we feel
It's magic
We've got the magic, deep in our souls
We've got the magic, to play rock-n-roll
We've got the magic, to never grow old
Can't you hear the sound, in the air
Can't wait to show this magic inside
Gonna bust out and spread it wide
Can't you hear what we're trying to say
Feeling's gettin' stronger everyday
It's magic
We've got the magic, deep in our souls
We've got the magic, to play rock-n-roll
We've got the magic, to never grow old
Can't you hear the sound, in the air (whoa yeah)
We've got the magic, deep in our souls (yeah)
We've got the magic, to play rock-n-roll
We've got the magic, we'll never grow old
We've got the magic
We've got the magic
We've got the magic
You've got the magic
So take it on home
We've got the magic, deep in our souls
We've got the magic, to play rock-n-roll
We've got the magic, it's magic, magic (whoa-oh)

I Try To Think Why Her Answer Always Ends In A No
May be she is trapped inside a water droplet
Resting on a green leaf
Of a rose plant
in the eden garden
The garden has a fairy
the fairy has a curse
the curse has a name
the name has a price
There are witches in the story
The witches are very bad
They rob the the flowers of smell
And kill the fairy’s smile
One day, a little boy
with a little heart
and two teddy bears
walks along that way
He kisses and walk -
The jasmine and the daisies
The lilac and the lilies
The roses and the fairies.
The rose has a name
It holds a dropp of love
The kiss is a game
Pushes the dropp of love
The lady in the droplet
Falls down the leaves
The boy leaps down
To hold it before breaks
The droplet breaks
The water splinters
the boy drops his heart
and break it into pieces
The girl is freed
The boy is dying
The girl does cry
The boy does smile
The fairy is sad
The witches are mad
The fairies are hot
The witches are not
The flowers smell beautiful
The fairy can smile
The curse is broken
The price has been paid
The battle is set,
The flowers decide to bet
The fairies will rollover
But witches are no pushover.
The fight is fought
The witches are lost
The fairies win
And everybody grins
The boy is dead
With a broken heart
The fairies believe
They can bring him back
The fairies promise
About magic and sorcery
The life is simple
We can buy again like grocery
The shopping is a trap
You buy one
You get one free.
Here the witches are free
The girl is trapped
Between pain and love
She things again
And decides its a no

Summer fun at the Beach
Summer fun is so grand
It's so fun too play in the sand
Summer time with family is so fun
you get to laugh and play in the sun
Running around on the beach
and for the ocean they try to reach
Summer fun is so grand
all the little kids run and play hand in hand
Get to play with a beach ball
seems like your there all day long
Making sand castles is really grand
just laughing and playing in the sand
Laughing, running, jumping, and jogging
screaming, shell collecting, beach walking and ball hogging
And all this summer fun has just begun,
I hope you read this poem when you done

Dont Play Around
He stuck that knife right into her gut
I want to tell you she was lucky with what she got
But what she got was not enough
She played around
Dont play around
I tried to tell her he was not so dumb
I tried to warn her there was something wrong
She wouldnt listen, she continued on
She played around
If you give your love to someone and someone treats you bad
If you give your love to someone and someone makes you mad
If you give your love to someone it can be so sad
Dont play around
Dont play around
He left her dying in the pool of blood
And she was crying oh my God oh my god
But she was no good, she was no good
She played around
Dont play around
Shed be laughing and dancing the night away
Shed be laughing and dancing with every man that came away
But as her lifes blood slipped away
I thought I heard her say
Dont play around
Dont play around

Guitar Song
I feel bad
And beautiful
In all the strangest places
You feel good
Youre sweetest
The weathers changing as I look at your face
Falling
Fall to the floor
Falling
You know we can
Havent had a dream in such a long time now
Its raining here and all the leaves are on the ground
But Im safe and warm outside its cold and grey
Thats my guitar and I will play for you all day
So many songs
In my mind
Maybe less cause Ive drunk so much wine
Theres light
In your eyes
But out the window its gone dark outside
Falling
Fall to the floor
Falling
You know we can
Havent had a dream in such a long time now
Its raining here and all the leaves are on the ground
But Im safe and warm outside its cold and grey
Thats my guitar and I will play for you all day
Havent had a dream in such a long time now
Its raining here and all the leaves are on the ground
But Im safe and warm outside its cold and grey
Thats my guitar and I will play for you all day
Itll be alright
If you stay tonight
Havent had a dream in such a long time now
Its raining here and all the leaves are on the ground
But Im safe and warm outside its cold and grey
Thats my guitar and I will play for you all day
Havent had a dream in such a long time now
Itll be alright
Its raining here and all the leaves are on the ground

D. J.
Im home, lost my job, and incurably ill
You think this is easy, realism
Ive got a girl out there, I suppose
I think shes dancing
Feel like dan dare lies down
I think shes dancing, what do I know?
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around, no, oh, ooh
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around, no, oh no
I am a d.j., I am what I play
I got believers (kiss-kiss)
Believing me, oh
One more, weekend, of lights and evening faces
Fast food, living nostalgia
Humble pie or bitter fruit
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around no, ooh
I am a d.j., I am what I say
Cant turn around no, cant turn around, ooh
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Ive got believers (kiss-kiss)
Believing me
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Cant turn around no, cant turn around
I am a d.j., I am what I play
Can turn around no (kiss-kiss)
Time flies when youre having fun
Break his heart, break her heart
He used to be my boss and millions of puppet dancer
I am a d.j., and Ive got believers
Ive got believers
Ive got believers
Ive got believers in me
Ive got believers
I am a d.j., I am what I play
I am a d.j.

Oh Say. Can you see? for Friend Thad
Oh say can you see
At night, when I should be sleeping.
From my window slyly peeping
I can see the fairies dance.
I’m not afraid to take a chance
that the fairies might see me.
Because I know they are friendly.
They have no reason to fear me.
They do not mind that I can see.
Why should they mind they know quite well
there is nobody I can tell
Who would believe that I had seen
the fairies dancing on the green.
I know that grownups cannot see
what children see so easily
Though adults do not seem to mind
they do not know that they are blind.
Their childish innocence once lost
can’t be replaced at any cost.
So they dismiss as fantasy
the fairies they no longer see.
But in their blindness they insist
that fairy folk do not exist
All children in their wisdom know.
Grown ups are wrong it isn’t so.
Most adults are convinced they’re right
but some few have retained their sight.
They see the world as children see,
Accepting as reality.
the evidence of their own eyes
and you will too if you are wise.

She Wants To Play Hearts
I am a broken toy
For a lonely girl
Use once and destroy
And go find some more
Back home, kids play in the leaves in the park
She wants to play a game of hearts
I'm the rag doll boy
With broken eyes
She only comes to me
When it's raining outside
Back home, kids play in the leaves in the park
She wants to play a game of hearts
I fell for you
I fell for you
Why?
I guess I wanted to play too.
Here's the lonely string
Playing 'long in my head
For only just my arms
Are dancing marionettes
Back home, kids play in the leaves in the park
And she wants to play a game of hearts
She wants to play a game of hearts

Theatre Of The Absurd
(ian hunter)
My tea turned seven shades darker
As I sit n write these words
And londons gettin paler
In my theatre of the absurd.
You figured for an evening
And you made it all worthwile.
Its seldom people have a job
And even rarer that I smile.
Play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Teach your children to be them
And never ever ours.
Play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Someone took the park away
But they left a lonely flower.
And if your songs be classics,
Throw them to the hurd.
Truth is where they came from
And not this theatre of the absurd.
Some say you wanted to play for me
But its only what youve heard
That made you want to capture me
In your theatre of the absurd.
It was not me, I said myself
And you must do so, too.
I hope you have the strength to stay
When Ill be watchin you.
So baby,
Play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Teach your children to be them
And never ever ours.
Play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Someone took the park away
But they left a lonely flower.
Oh when I got here back home tonight
Something within me stirred.
Oh it must have been a different kind of play
That touched my theatre of the absurd.
Now Ill be on my way alone
But an interesting thing occurred
See nobody ever shared too much
In my theatre of the absurd.
And there I was back in london,
Thought about history.
It was just like being in school again
But I felt something movin in me.
Hearin just a bit of the future,
Oh its comin and its still blurred
And thats the only thing worth living for
In my theatre of the absurd.
Come on,
Play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Teach your children to be them
And never ever ours.
Oh play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Someone took the park away
But they left a lonely flower.
(beautiful)
Play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
(john, come on)
Play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Oh, play me some, (come on, eric) play me some,
Play me brixton power.
Oh, play me some, play me some,
Play me brixton power.

A Girl Like Me
A girl like me will make your world better
A girl like me will make you happy
A girl like me will make you smile everyday.
A girl like me will surround only you in my world
A girl like me will make you laugh nonstop
A girl like me will make time for you.
A girl like me will sit and listen to your words
A girl like me will not play games with you or your heart
A girl like me will always be true to you.
A girl like me will talk to you all night
A girl like me will be the one you can count on to be there for you
A girl like me will always be down for you no matter what.
A girl like me will be the one you can put your trust in
A girl like me will make you my whole world
A girl like me will give you everything I possibly can.
A girl like me needs a king
A girl like me could be your queen
A girl like me could be your everything.
A girl like me will let you have fun
A girl like me will lay with you and just smile
A girl like me will be the one you can just hang out with.
A girl like me will be the one to hold you at night
A girl like me will be the one you can fall asleep with
A girl like me will make you see what's on the brighter side.
A girl like me will keep you outta trouble
A girl like me will be there when no one else will
A girl like me will be the one you can open up to.
A girl like me could be your world that you have been looking for
A girl like me could be right in front of you
A girl like me could be the one you need to survive this life.
A girl like me is me
There is no other girl like me
Take me to be yours and get all of the above.

Play Children Play
I came home late one night,
In my door stood my daughter-in-law,
Park your car, I have something to tell you,
As I entered the door, she said, "Mother left today."
Play children play, your mother left today.
There is no where for a writer to start,
When his wife leaves and breaks her children's heart,
When she walked out, she never said good by,
No one has ever known why.
Play children play, today your Mother went away.
Many things we planned to do that day,
For no reason she just walked away,
Twenty years has past and gone,
Some how we took care of our home,
You children have married, but still alone.
Play children play, for the day your Mother went away.

Faeriedell (A Children's Rhyme) .
Do you believe in Fairies’ thoughts, do you believe in spells?
You see their thoughts wisp through the air, down by Faeriedell,
Look carefully and you will see them, sitting in their trees
Laughing, smiling, telling tales, just doing as they please.
Make your choice and wisely choose, the one that takes your eye
But please beware, you must take care and never tell a lie.
They’re inquisitive, they’ll question you so be honest and be true
And if you do they’ll grant a wish, especially for you.
You’ll see her flying through the air or skim across the pond
Pretty clothes and golden wings flapping way beyond
The tallest tree in the dell resting on its leaves
You’ll see this much and much, much more, if you will just believe.
You see her with her little bag, flitting in the night
Her wings are now, all lit up, and shine the brightest white
You’ll see her sprinkle stardust, the twinkle just like stars
And moonbeams shoot across the dell like rays of silver bars.
Music plays and songs are sung as she does her fairy dance
Skipping over velvet chairs, her friends all clap their hands
They all sit on their favourite seats, joining in the fun
But they all know it must end soon with the coming of the sun.
When dawn breaks they dive into their pond, to greet a brand new day
Some sit on wide lily pads as others rest or play.
The young are chasing rainbows to catch a fairy dream
And the older ones make magic wands whilst sitting by the stream.
Leaping purest puffy clouds, like balls of cotton wool
They’re edged with silver lining to keep the fairies cool
As frolicking in moondust leaves a fairy feeling warm
And she needs to be in spritely shape to use her magic charm.
The Wishing Well is full of gold so someone has to stay
To guard against the evil imps for they’ll steal it all away
Fairies have no need for gold, there’s nothing here to buy
And they can’t go outside Faeriedell for they will surely die.
Fairies live a thousand years, so they’re very old and wise
But look so young and beautiful because they don’t tell lies
So if you see a fairy, no-one should you tell
For you’ve been granted your first wish, you’ve been to Faeriedell.

Since the beginning of time, children have not liked to study. They would much rather play, and if you have their interests at heart, you will let them learn while they play; they will find that what they have mastered is child's play.
