Anvil-Stamped in the Office
I careen between the iron cross
caring and need
and you play midnight cello moaning tones
from it emit your voices.
I sit in the executive chair
in corporate blue
my bow string
drawing intensities
from nebulae
from which my star was born;
it exploding
willingly
because it senses
your desires
circling
in Maypole Spring's Dancings.
Sometimes
all is in the yearning
not in consummation
because the former is perfection
and the latter too risky;
thus we anvil stamp
in misty nights
and allow souls to rise
and meet
and that us often enough
for eternity
allowing us the purity
having resisted
pressing
hungry
inevitabilitite s
for the time being.

Around The Maypole We Go
Come with me little one
Let's go and have some fun
The maypole is attracting the both of us
As well as many others
Let's grab a ribbon from the maypole
Let's ready ourselves
Let's get set to dance
And all around us
Many others are watching us and the
ones that have joined us to dance the
maypole
As we hear the music play
It's around the maypole we go
Passing by young ones and their
parents
Going over and under
Going under and over
Around the maypole we go
And I can see you smile little one
I can tell you're enjoying yourself
Being lost in the fun
Hearing us being cheered on
Seeing us being applauded
Being lost in the wonder of it all

Midnight Star
I was waiting in the express lane with my twelve items or less
At the checkout counter at the local grocery store
I was only passin by
But a paper caught my eye
And I learend a few things I mever knew before
It said your pet may be an extra terrestrial
It said the ghost of elvis is living in my den
You can learn to cope with stress
You can beat the irs
And the incredible frog boy is on the loose again
Oh, mignight star
Its in the weekly midnight star
Aliens from outer space are sleeping in my car
Midnight star, I wanna know, I wanna know
Eat jelly donuts and lose twenty pounds a day
Hear the story of the man born without a head
And top psychics all agree
That the telephone company
Will have a brand new service that lets you talk to the dead
Oh, midnight star
You can believe it if you read it in the weekly mignight star
Theyre keeping hitlers brain alive inside a jar
Midnight star, I wanna know, I wanna know
Tell me, tell me, tell me how to make my bust-line grow
Midnight star, I wanna know
Oh, midnight star
Well, dont you know that I read it, I read it in the weekly midnight star
The ufos have landed and well tell you where they are
Midnight star, I wanna know, I wanna know
Midnight star
Well, you can read all about in in the weekly midnight star
You can use you esp to learn to play guitar
Midnight star I wanna know, I wanna know
(ah, midnight star) I wanna know, I wanna know
(ah, midnight star) I wanna know, I wanna know
(ah, midnight star) I wanna know, I wanna know
(ah, midnight star) inquiring minds like mine wanna know
(you can read it {x5}, midnight star {x2}) (ah, midnight star) I wanna know, I wanna know

I See Stars
I saw a star in Venice
I saw a star tonight
I saw a star falling then regain its flight.
I saw a star in Rio
I saw a star in you
I saw a star twinkling in different shades of blue.
I saw a star in Heaven
I saw a star in Hell
But never did I see a star twinkling on my world.
I've seen a star fading
I've seen it cross the sky
I've seen so many different stars trying not to die
I've seen them come together
I've watched them grow apart
I have seen so many stars in a lovers heart.
I've seen the stars exploding
I've seen the quiet and calm
I've heard them whisper secrets in a world full of harm
I saw a star twinkling in different shades of blue
But never in all my life have i seen a star like you...

Essence of Her Ocean
I’m not the person who walks with you through autumn leaves
In the old park near the school where children play in innocent reverie;
I’m not the man mingling souls with the lady of all his dreams,
But I am the man who desires such things.
I’m the midnight candle that burns for love
Beneath the gentle gaze of the moon,
I’m the prayer spoken upon a pillow
That will softly float into a woman’s room.
My senses will one day all disappear
Into the fragrance of her perfume,
I will be the single teardropp of water
Entering the essence of her ocean for eternity.

Verdi Cries
[ natalie merchant ]
[ piano: don grolnick/cello: dennis karmazyn/viola: novi/bass: bob magnusson/string arrangement: david campbell ]
The man in 119 takes his tea alone.
Mornings we all rise to wireless verdi cries.
Im hearing opera through the door.
The souls of men and women, impassioned all.
Their voices climb and fall; battle trumpets call.
I fill the bath and climb inside, singing.
He will not touch their pastry
But every day they bring him more.
Gold from the breakfast tray, I steal them all away
And then go and eat them on the shore.
I draw a jackal-headed woman in the sand,
Sing of a lovers fate sealed by jealous hate
Then wash my hand in the sea.
With just three days more Id have just about learned the entire score to aida.
Holidays must end as you know.
All is memory taken home with me:
The opera, the stolen tea, the sand drawing, the verging sea, all years ago.

Faltering Response
There’s so many who need God’s Son, but as they bask in temporal fun,
They’re not mindful of God at all, being spiritually tainted by Adam’s fall,
To all of The Church we must appeal, as we’ve been asleep at the wheel,
Sometimes allowing to be ignored, men who desperately need The Lord.
Are we simply accepting their fate, while we, for Jesus, just quietly wait?
Knowing that eternity for all is real, have we, in The Church lost our zeal?
The zeal we had after we found Him, our Lord who saved us from all sin,
Who snatched us from the lake of fire, to fill us with a strong new desire.
A desire to point those who are lost, to the Salvation of Calvary’s Cross,
To reach all of our friends and family, with God’s Truth all about Eternity.
What stymied our need and desire, to point all men to an eternity higher?
A Heaven above the eternal abyss, far from Satan and each accomplice.
We need to wake from our slumber, to add more souls to God’s number,
Of those found in the Book of Life, that Book compiled by Jesus Christ,
Of all those souls upon this earth, who came to Christ through New Birth,
Born Again of God’s Spirit above, when they receive God’s Gift of Love.
And then our Lord places His trust, as He commissions every one of us,
All who in Christ, have been Born Again, to be for Christ, fishers of men,
And now with time getting so late, Believers must seriously contemplate,
Serving Christ with all our heart, before the time, the Church does depart.

First Star I See
Shes the one Id like to meet,
The Girl from my First Star seen,
But the nights been full of clowds
to dark to see,
left blind no light for me,
a black sweater pull over the night sky
and Im not wishing anything.
Till She came along,
Star above now Star on earth,
Took my hand,
went for a ride,
and we just watched the world spin by,
like two diamonds in the sky.
the Heavens open wide,
and In the cold black sky,
Stars once more begin to rise,
Smiling, it seems upon my wish.
But I fear tonight I made
another wish, a prayer from my broken lips,
will the stars above reclaim
the one that seemed to fall toward me,
or can my silent protest keep,
that which be so dear to me,
will this gift, this chance persist,
or shall it fly, a comit on the winds,
a falling star seen not caught,
travling through this timeless void.
She's the one Id like to meet,
a wish that travels mindlessly,
never caring when it lands,
how long it stays, nor if it mends,
for likely she shall leave again,
Once more to be,
First Star i See...

My First
She:
I freeze Time this night
in making love to you
your mouth has within it forever-ness:
you've restored to me my mental virginity
in this my love-making with you
releasing those sexual bonds
which wrap around existence itself
making time cease
making my woman-hood feel complete
me taking your man-hood
making it meld
with my woman-side
He:
I feel you shudder
wrapping your heart
around me
embracing my need
drawing from me
more than
I have ever given
making me rise for you
making me complete;
you and I
gasping.
It is not merely the touching
but too, the release:
not merely the holding
but the sweling out-
the overwhelming
needful need;
not merely
our quiverings
but too the inhalings
in
and the trembling outs
the welcoming intensities
the thrusting;
animal lust
and the clinging
loving
simultaneously.
Draw away;
this moment now
because
my opening soul
seeks eternity
propelled by gushing
crying
gratitude
and
our hungry mouths
kissing.

Ganymede
How, in the light of morning,
Round me thou glowest,
Spring, thou beloved one!
With thousand-varying loving bliss
The sacred emotions
Born of thy warmth eternal
Press 'gainst my bosom,
Thou endlessly fair one!
Could I but hold thee clasp'd
Within mine arms!
Ah! upon thy bosom
Lay I, pining,
And then thy flowers, thy grass,
Were pressing against my heart.
Thou coolest the burning
Thirst of my bosom,
Beauteous morning breeze!
The nightingale then calls me
Sweetly from out of the misty vale.
I come, I come!
Whither? Ah, whither?
Up, up, lies my course.
While downward the clouds
Are hovering, the clouds
Are bending to meet yearning love.
For me,
Within thine arms
Upwards!
Embraced and embracing!
Upwards into thy bosom,
Oh Father all-loving!

Yad Mordechai
Yad Mordechai. Those who fell here
still look out the windows like sick children
who are not allowed outside to play.
And on the hillside, the battle is reenacted
for the benefit of hikers and tourists. Soldiers of thin sheet iron
rise and fall and rise again. Sheet iron dead and a sheet iron life
and the voices all—sheet iron. And the resurrection of the dead,
sheet iron that clangs and clangs.
And I said to myself: Everyone is attached to his own lament
as to a parachute. Slowly he descends and slowly hovers
until he touches the hard place.

Blue Chair
Now its just you and me, my blue friend
And you say that its you that shes thinking of
And our affair must end
But if its you that shes thinking of
I think my broken heart might mend
Chorus: now its my turn to talk and your turn to think
Your turn to buy and my turn to drink
Your turn to cry and my turn to sink down in the blue chair
Down in the blue chair
Now Ive made up my mind Ive made my mistake
And I know that she cries for you
When shes barely awake
Well shes going to bend your mind
Well I hope it dont break
Chorus
Down in the blue chair
We can watch our troubles rise
Like smoke into the air
And drift up to the ceiling
Down in the blue chair
You can feel just like a boy or a man
And next minute you can find yourself kneeling
Down in the blue chair
Theyre boasting of loving the daylights right out of her in the small hours
Down in the blue chair
You say that your love lasts forever when you know the night just hours
And still I want her right now
Not any minute, hour or day
And wherever she is tonight
I want her anyway
I suppose she never said to you,
You were just in the way
Chorus
Down in the blue chair
Down in the blue
Blue becomes you
Down in the blue chair

Liberty In Christ
In God Believers have liberty, going beyond what the eye can see,
We get this liberty in Jesus Christ, liberty gained through New Life.
Freedom from sin and The Law, bestowed upon the believing soul,
This freedom we have in God’s Son, is available today to everyone.
The liberty that we have from sin, gives Believers His peace within,
As sin’s desire died on the cross, God now purges remaining dross,
And God replaces old sinfulness, with Jesus Christ’s righteousness.
Even though we’re tempted by sin, in Christ we have victory in Him.
As Believers we use our liberty, to point the entire world to Calvary,
Where New Life for all the lost, begins for all at The Savior’s Cross.
As God judged sin and shame, on the cross bearing Christ’s name,
Where we left the bondage of sin, and freedom we received in Him.
This liberty we receive in this life, is used for honoring Jesus Christ,
Not for pursuing our own desires, but His will which is much higher.
We’ve been freed from religion friend, to point souls to a better end,
With God’s Truth that sets men free, with God’s Promise of Eternity.
My friend, The God of all Eternity, desires to give all men this liberty,
A liberty found only in His Son, who upon the cross said “It is done”,
Finished is the work of God’s salvation, by His Son, for every nation.
So all men can receive this liberty, with God’s assurance of Eternity.

One Bright Star
One bright star in the vast unknown
A blazing ember in the night sky shone
Reminding me that I'm not alone...............
One bright star;
One bright star in the evening sky
Holds its own where the angels fly
Anchors the bond between you and I............
One bright star;
One bright star that I wish upon
The first to rise when the sun is gone
Lights my way 'til the early dawn.............
One bright star;
One bright star In the midnight blue
Holds the dreams that I dream of you
Take my hand and I'll lead you to
One bright star.

Play On
All of my life, the wheels were turning
Drawing me near, to something that's burning bright
The music begins, a song that is new
Joining as one, it leads me to you
(Chorus)
Play on, play on, lifting our voices to reach the sky
Play on, play on, singing a song and my heart's on fire
My morning star, has always been with me
Lifting me up, when I couldn't carry on
Turning the page, to each song I write
Leading me on, on through the night
(Chor us)
Living the song
Holding on to a dream that never dies
I open my eyes
Learning the word that never fade
Now it begins
Never to end
It's the prize I long for
Play on, play on, lifting our voices to reach the sky
Play on, play on, sound a refrain to be heard on high
Play on, play on, singing a song and my heart's on fire

Chick Magnet
Don’t play the cello if you want
to be a magnet for the chicks,
a guy who on guitar strings picks
is thought be far more gallant.
I learnt this fact from Yo-Yo Ma,
who probably believes that poets
have also far more luck with coeds
than cellists. Maybe many are,
but I am not, unfortunate
with poems as he is with cello.
I wish I were a magnet fellow,
and made the chicks importunate,
first for my poems, then my bod,
but since I don’t play the guitar,
my life is black as café noir,
and I am lonelier than God.
Charlie Rose on December 3,2008 interviewed Yo-Yo Ma, who accompanied on his cello the singer and songwriter from North Carolina, James Taylor, who also plays the guitar. Yo Yo explained that he has played the cello since the age of three, and that this has not made him a chick magnet. James Taylor started off by playing the cello but gave it up for the guitar, which Yo-Yo considers a wise decision.

Interlude narrative verse for M lady Ernestine
The silent cello waits in vain.
Her owner can no longer play,
her twisted joints in so much pain
Arthritis has now won the day.
Those hands which once caressed the strings
are gnarled and twisted dreadfully
Though in her mind the cello sings,
its silent in reality.
The music stored within its soul
longs for release impatiently.
Its destiny to play a role
assisting some child prodigy.
The owner cannot bear to part
with her treasured instrument.
She holds a dream deep in her heart.
Some one will come who’s one intent
to learn to play the cello well.
Prepared to suffer for their art,
beglamoured by the subtle spell
this cherished cello can impart.
Her children show no interest,
no musical ability.
Perhaps, she thinks it’s for the best
The cello waits impatiently.
One day her grandchild comes to call
A pretty child who’s not yet five.
She exhibits no fear at all
her fingers bring the strings alive.
The cello knows this is the one.
The child it has been waiting for.
and grandma knows she has passed on.
The love she felt so long before.
Before she learnt to play a note.
She knew it was her destiny
that music was the antidote
to soothe her sensitivity..
The chills is lost in wonderment
and strokes the cello lovingly.
This could not be an accident.
It was her grandma’s legacy.
She seemed to know instinctively
Just as her grandmother had done
That music was her destiny.
The cello knew that it had won
In course of time the girl surpassed
The skill her grandma had possessed.
It was the spell the cello cast
She always said that made her best.
When grandma died she died content
Her well loved cello sang again.
Now her grand daughter’s instrument
Their patient wait was not in vain..
