With An Interest To Sniff Your Assets

what real difference will it make,
If a thief has hidden a stolen wealth...
And has not paid any taxes?

What advantage to your life will you have,
with a disclosure like this,
That does not directly benefit where you sit.
Other than to know...
Not a finger on either hand will touch a bit of it.
With a counting to determine,
How many zeros are in front of a decimal.

The only aid that will come to assist,
Is an ability to add more of your unsolicited gossip.
To travel from your lips to ears for other ears to hear.
That's it.

Suggestion...
Do this!
Just to see how quick,
You will get attention from the government.
With an interest to sniff 'your' assets.
Start a rumor you have won the lotto!
They will be near not to rid.
OR new friends or unlimited relatives.

Free Of Lip

The ones who are quick to assume,
Can be counted upon to initiate rumors.
And don't ask twice,
From them to give opinion.
Or listen to their advice.
The giving of it already comes unsolicited.

If familiy members become confused,
And neighbors are found spreading...
News untrue,
Head for the ones...
With their mouths on ears.
Stuck to them like teeth to chewing gum.

And those ears choosing to stayed glued,
To the ones who are free of lip...
Prefabricating fresh gossip,
Soon will discover...
Who has been making daily deposits,
To aid to all of their misunderstandings and confusion.

The ones who are quick to assume,
Can be counted upon to initiate rumors.
And don't ask twice,
From them to give opinion.
Or listen to their advice.
The giving of it already comes unsolicited.

Self Promotion

The best why to get a rumor started,
Especially when one lives in a small town environment...
And depending on publicity for a charity event.
Or something that requires the attendance of an audience.
One should select someone known to spread juicy gossip.

Tell them something outlandish,
Believed in the strictest of confidence.
Add tasty flavor to it!
And...
There you are.
What was said to them,
Will travel faster than any advertising campaign.
And to ears near and those perked up listening far.

'I don't believe this!
Are you serious? '

~Uh huh.
'Mos Def'.
But please, please...
Don't say a 'thing' to anyone.
That was just between you and me.~

However...
One must be timely AND clever.
Start this rumor at least six months before the due date,
Of the actual occurrence of the occasion.
Save a few dollars on that self promotion.

They Know That They Don't Know

They know that they don't know!
And their opinions discloses the evidence.
Most of their knowledge has been obtained,
By innuendos and nonsense.
Leaving them exposed,
To an ignorance that shows.

They know that they don't know!
And any actions taken to comprehend...
Becomes entrapped by an inferiority,
Felt within them.

And that which escapes their understanding...
Is left out of their reach.
Although very close...
Are those answers they seek most.
But quick they fold their arms to their chests,
With stubborn hands to express...
Their choice not to hear,
What for them is best!

Declaring they wish not to listen...
Because facts distracts,
A consciousness they lack!

They know that they don't know.
But they want to gossip it.
They know that they don't know.
But they want to gossip it.
They know that they don't know.
But they want to gossip it...
And spread those rumors made to fit,
Those ears that are as limited!

They know that they don't know.
But they want to gossip it.
They know that they don't know.
But they want to gossip it.
They know that they don't know.
But they want to gossip it...
And spread those rumors made to fit,
Those ears that are as limited!

They know that they don't know,
With their minds closed.
They know that they don't know,
With their minds closed.
They know that they don't know,
With their minds closed.
And spread those rumors made to fit,
Those ears that are as limited!

They know that they don't know...
And it shows.
They know that they don't know...
And it shows.
They know that they don't know...
And it shows.
And spread those rumors made to fit,
Those ears that are as limited!

They know that they don't!
Stubborn and they're limited.
They know that they don't!
Stubborn and they're limited.
They know that they don't!
Stubborn and they're limited.
Stubborn and they're limited.
And spread those rumors made to fit,

Never Given A Chance To Happen

It would have made a difference,
If those experienced and willing...
To volunteer their time,
To secure the cementing of foundations...
Were regarded as friends.
And not threats to suspect of wanting,
To flaunt special attention given.

It would have made a difference,
If those who had nothing...
Accepted someone with something to give,
As a benefit to the environment.
With an advantage for all.
Instead of someone to ignore...
Defaming with a smearing campaign,
In a hope to see them fall.

It would have made a difference,
To the ones who now...
Have surrounded themselves,
In surmounting conflicts...
Creating their mental and physical ailments.

It would have made a difference,
If mindsets were connected...
To a discipline respected.
It would have made a difference,
But that difference...
Was never given a chance to happen.

It would have made a difference,
If opportunities presented...
Were recognized.

It would have made the difference!
But it didn't!

Rumor Has It

(bruce burch/vern dant/larry shell)
I overheard a conservation your name was mentioned in
But they didnt talk about us, only her again
I didnt want to listen but I hung on every word
They said some things I wish I hadnt heard
Chorus:
Rumor has it she has you
Rumor has it you love her too
Talk is cheap but the price is high when its true
Rumor has it she has you
This towns so small a whisper can be heard a mile away
And people here will gossip when theres nothing else to say
I wouldnt have believed my ears but I see it in your eyes
The stories going round this town arent lies
Rumor has it she has you
Rumor has it you love her too
Talk is cheap but the price is high when its true
Rumor has it she has you
Whoa...rumor has it she has you

Benefit Of The Doubt

What became of us
In the night light
Turn to touch your hand
Hands dont understand
Whats a right from wrong
When I think of all the things weve done
Never made the rules
But counting one to ten was easy
Its always happening - slowly, surely happening
Could have been another way
It looked bad from the start
Wont you give me, give me benefit of the doubt
Could have been another day for pulling the plug
On my heart wont you give me, give me benefit of the doubt
Oh well here we go again acting like old friends
Its hard to compromise
When loves locked in your eyes
Always out to stay then twice as hard to go
But what you reap I sew
And counting one to ten was easy
Its always happening - slowly, surely happening
Could have been another way
It looked bad from the start
Wont you give me, give me benefit of the doubt
Could have been another day
For pulling the plug on my heart
Wont you give me, give me benefit of the doubt
Wont you give me, give me benefit of the doubt
Wont you give me, give me benefit of the doubt
Could have been another day
For pulling the plug on my heart - ouch!
Wont you give me, give me benefit of the doubt
Could have been another way
It looked bad from the start - ouch!
Wont you give me, give me benefit of the doubt
Could have been another day
For pulling the plug on my heart
Oh, wont you give. me give me benefit of the doubt
Could have been another way

There Is A Vicariousness Lived

Sometimes when I awaken,
I wish my mind was not so investigative.
But I am too inquisitive,
To assume.

Those who sit and imagine their lives,
And others who are living theirs...
Seem to have so much time,
Not to experience life.
From their lips when in the exchange of gossip...
There is a vicariousness lived to then embellish...
Flowing nonstop to listening ears.

And when I hear this it becomes hard to detect...
What is real and what has been memorized,
From what has been spoken by another...
To then take out of context.
Delusional people can make real their fantasies.

Sometimes when I awaken,
I wish my mind was not so investgative.
But I am too inquisitive,
To assume.

You Just Want to Touch My Plastic

You just want to touch my plastic.
And qualify yourself,
As someone entwined...
In a relationship with me,
Of some kind.

One that defines you,
Approved to exhaust me of funds.
With an accepted aggrevation made,
To deplete me quick.
Applying a 'get-it-and-run' trick trip!
I'm not the one.
I am not having it.

That has happened before.
And I didn't get addicted.

Oh, yes...
That's all you want to do!
You,
Just want to touch my plastic.
To wine and dine,
Unlimited.

But let me say this...
You're not about to touch nothing of mine.
Until you've made a deposit.
One that suits me quite fine.

A massaging you can start.
And I'll decide,
If you become added to my membership list!

'Member what? ?
That's a bunch of ssshhh...'

Take your time and don't be quick.
Or fidget impatiently with crossed legs fixed.
As if to slow this process,
To inflict a punishment.
While I witness you paint your finger nails.
After you blow dry your acrylic toes.

Followed by a pouting of your ruby red lips.

You just want to put your hands on my plastic.
And other things God only knows!
With a proposal made that leaves me broke,
And left cold.
I'm not fooled by a smoozing,
You wish easily sold.

'Why can't your believe and accept I love you? '

I believe you want to do me with a paid for screwing.
That's what I believe.
And that's what you are doing!

I Am The Pretty Girl-Chapter Two

By junior year I was feeling pretty lonely
and I went to this party
where all the pretty girls go
so I had to go and everything
there were boys there from the college.
boys I didn't see very often
mature boys
and I was curious
especially about the one named Josh;
he seemed nice
I had watched him from the time I arrived.
but more important
he seemed to have confidence about himself
in a way I wished I had confidence in my self.
I openly looked at him
caught his eye
letting him know girl-way
I liked him
miracle of all miracles he understood my look-
closed his eyes and started across the room toward me
a gentle smile on his face, growing as he drew near.

I was thrilled as I felt him before he even got close to me,
he had something which made me feel weak
a bit frightened but very excited.

Directly in front of me now
I gave him my blank stare
as he towered above me
and I
suddenly realizing
that all eyes were upon us.

To have a college boy interested in you
was the height
the room stood still
as he pivoted to stand
beside me
like we already knew
each other and everything
I could hear little gasps of surprise because
my girls friends thought that we
somehow
did know each other.

He stood there beside me
watching everyone in the room watch us
then he took my hand
slowly into his,
a soft touch,
just a soft touch
not an aggressive touch
and whispered
'Act casual and we can just cruise on out of here
You go first-I will cover you.'

He made me laugh and in that moment I relaxed.
Josh had the ability to make me laugh from the very start.

I took his hand and led him toward a side door
into what was a small garden
with sliding glass doors
so everyone could see us
but not hear us.
I was so relieved to be out of there
and he was too I guess.
He chuckled,
still holding my hand
finally saying;
'I am never going to let go of your hand
ever.'

I looked at him sideways
and he burst out laughing
'Well I will let go sometime
but not before you give me
one of your beautiful smiles.'

Involuntarily I did give him a big smile-
he made me smile,
and then with that smile still on my face
he slowly took his hand from mine
and placed his finger tips on my lips.

The entire room behind those glass doors
gave a hushed gasp
I could almost hear;
from my corner eye
I could see
see heads swirling
as people did double-takes
looking at us.
Then for the first time
in a long time
I felt like the pretty girl
a real pretty girl
thinking if Josh was
or was not going to be the one
to whom I would lose my virginity to.

The thought made me blush.

Ears are sensuous.

Ears are as much a part
In sexual stimuli
Of a woman’s facial beauty.
Who cares?
Even poets underplay them.
Lobes with no jewels on
Make women look barren.
Observe
Ears play hidden kicks.
Ear ornaments are the first pick
For a woman to be bejeweled.
Give a kiss on her ears’ back.
It is more than one on her lips.

What Is The 'Real' Intention Hidden

Why is it that there are those with beliefs,
Who feel if something they do...
Another should follow their lead,
To leave perceived.

And I've always felt,
If someone does something unsolicited...
It was something 'they' chose to do.
Not demand an attention be attached to it.

If I do something from my heart,
And it is given from the start.
That's it.
An acknowledgement would be nice.
But if there isn't one to come...
I'm not going to think twice,
About what it is I've done...
if it wasn't a bona fide sacrifice.

Many get offended if their actions done,
Does not get an attention.
And their motives I question with a suspicion...
What is the 'real' intention hidden,
Left going unmentioned?

With Only The Ability To Waste

There was a time,
And this was not too long ago...
When those of skills and talents,
Only had a wish to share them.
To assist others in the fulfillment,
Of seeing 'their' dreams and wishes...
Come true.
With a volunteering of their efforts denied.
And...
Without a dime of payment mentioned.

But those making decisions,
Believed the ones who would want to do this...
Only sought the getting of attention.
And refusing them they did,
To ensure they were dismissed.

Today?
How things have changed.

Today there are those who are hired,
To solicit volunteers.
With the paying of expensive media advertisements,
To attract those with talents and skills to give.
And this is done with blatant attention given,
To the ones getting paid.
With only the ability to waste funding,
To achieve nothing getting done.

But say they do there is no one willing to work for free.
And these are the same people...
Publicly declaring there is no communal unity.

'We need you! '
~For what? ~
'To volunteer your skills,
As a community service.'
~And how will my doing this,
Be of benefit to you? ~
'A job that keeps me paid and something to do.'

Here's my pause button.
Cranking up the music and start jamming.
For its my only way out.

The constant ringing upon my ears.
The blood curdling screams I continuously hear.

It forever sits upon a child's mind.
Was it something he did?
Is that why daddy smacks mommy around?
Is that why mommy brings a different man day after day.
Which is my real father.
A bastard by definition.

Just make it stop.
The stillness in the air.
The shattered mirror just sitting their.

The hate.

Just make it all stop.
I can't take it no more.

The hate.

Just make it all stop.
I can't take it no more.
The constant ringing upon my ears.
The blood curdling screams I continuously hear.

With a needle in her arm and she does not wake.
What am I to do now.
Do I call 911 in the attempts to save her.
These questions constantly stir.
A life in a melting pot.
I wonder how I will turn out.

Just make it stop.
The stillness in the air.
The shattered mirror just sitting their.

The hate.
The anger
Just make it all stop.
I can't take it no more.

Now shes sitting in the bath tub.
Slashes across her wrist.
Blood soaked water.
Is their any way I could have prevented this?
She is ready to die.
And as a child I'm ready to cry.

Just make it stop.
The stillness in the air.
The shattered mirror just sitting their.

All Along The Watchtower

There must be some kinda way way out of here
Oh said the joker to the thief
I want to tell you now
You know theres just too much confusion
And I cant no I cant get no relief
Ah these businessmen they all they drink our wine
And the plowman well he dig my earth
And you know that ah none of them along the line
Can show me what any of this is worth
You know we wanted to see it now didnt we
Didnt we
There aint no reason to get excited
Ah the thief you know he kindly spoke
Well now there are those among us right here right now
Who still see life as some kind of a joke
But you and I we have been through that
I tell you that this this is not our fate no no no
Now let us all not talk falsely now
You know the hour well its getting late
I said all along the watchtower
The princes they kept the view
While the women the women
They came and then they went
And barefoot servants too
Thats me thats you
But outside theres a cold distance
Listen for the wildcats
Here them growl
Two riders were approaching
As the wind began to howl
I said now shelter me
Oh there are those among us right here right now
Who still see life as some kind of a joke
All along the watchtower
I said all along this watchtower
Those of you who still have eyes to see
Ears hear me
You will be saved by grace in the end
Saved by time if you dont understand
That your hatred is rooted in your fear
And your paranoia and insecurities
Well they dont belong here
You got to take someones hand
You got to learn to make your stand
And its one two three four
Look at the sky you can open the door
And take my hand
Take my hand
Take my hand
Ah dont you want to touch
Dont you want to feel
Dont you know that this is real
I said shelter me
Shelter me
Shelter me
Shelter me
And save yourself
Save yourself
Save your
Save your
Save your
Save your
Save your
Save your
Save your
Save your
Save your
Save your
Save
And you
You
And you are a part of the world
You you are a part of the world
You gotta learn to touch to feel
And know that you are real
I said learn learn
You are a part of the world

Self Defeating Foolishness

No interest they have in politics.
Believing that and religion do not mix.
No interest expressed in local business.
And yet they insist...
Changes must come to exist!

No interest do they have,
With the lack of discipline shown.
And the disrespect accepted and known.
No one wishes to participate,
In doing those things that are right.
But quick they are to pass judgements.
And witness those in conflict...
As they sit and gossip as if to benefit!

No interest in progress or moving ahead.
As those who do this among them...
They do their best to keep them down instead.
And when they notice they are all of the same mind...
Knitted together by the same common thread.
They want to come together and unify!
Crying they've been left behind...
To entertain themselves,
With more nonsense to spread!
And this is done not 'some'...
But all of the time!

And they come together,
To denounce others who express,
No interest in them...
Or their self defeating foolishness.

Don't Be The One To Hold Onto This Molding Done

The giving of unlimited patience,
To someone in constant complaint mode...
Grows old.
Like a balding tire that needs to be replaced.
And has run out of valuable tread.
Get real with this!

Don't wait until that tire blows.
To believe it will assist instead...
In the delivery to and from,
With you in safe passage.
Get real with this!
And slow down to examine it for what it is.
Make the necessary change and be on your way!
With a sigh of relief when you leave.

The giving of unlimited patience,
To someone in constant complaint mode...
Grows old.
Like a balding tire that needs to be replaced.
And has run out of valuable tread.

Get real with this.
Slow down to examine it for what it is.
And make the necessary changes.
Don't delay speeding away,
From that which has been corrected and fixed.
Get real with this quick.

The giving of unlimited patience,
To someone in constant complaint mode...
Grows old.
Don't be the one to hold onto this molding done!
Get real with this.
Slow down to examine it for what it is.

Counting Dollars Clocked For My Efforts

I've heard it said,
But not as often these days.
How I had it made.
And others 'have' to work.
Although today,
There is an economic crisis.
And many passing their judgements,
Are not so free to critique.
With a shutting done of their lips.

And I use to let these comments upset.
But I stopped recently to think to myself...
They could not be referring to me.
Because I've been working all my life.
Doing things that I like.
And not having the benefit to call in sick.

None of which,
Affords me the time to sit doing nothing.
Or to complain to anyone,
About getting no pay!
As they...
Those in positions to complain AND get paid,
Take money and run on their pay day.
With the doing of one thing most of their lives.
And have the time to mind someone else's business!

Well...
With many today hoping those pink slips given,
From them look the other way!

And if I wished to have a position like that,
I wouldn't be spending sleepless nights...
Toiling as I do something I like.
I'd be spending time entertaining myself.
Or find the time to dine.
Ruining my diet with an unnecessary appetite.
Sitting to gossip about someone's life.

And here I am after many years...
Without the benefit,
Of lunch breaks and two weeks of paid vacations.
While doing fourty five minutes of daily labor!
To then say how easy someone else has it!

Don't we all make choices?
I can't be the only one who remembers this!

So fortunate I am to count my blessings.
Even though there has been times I wished,
I was counting dollars clocked for my efforts.
I'd have a condo on Jupiter by now!
But...
God has my back.
And so grateful I am for that!

Grossly Limited

People claiming to have common sense,
Will make attempts to convince anyone listening.
Raving they wish to the government out of their daily lives.
However...
When trouble arrives at their doorstep,
They do not call upon God to correct their situations...
Or protect them.
They call upon the police to cease their agonies.
A service that makles their taxes increase.
And...
If the police are not there within minutes,
A blame of their local government from them is dispensed.
Saying they pay to keep protected.

But the police are not there to do that at all.
They are there for purposes of civil disobedience.
To maintain the public's interests!
And 'that' is the law.
None obey!

From the pulpits to the streets,
Disagreements with mandates delivered from God...
Fall upon deaf ears.
Religiously.

People claiming to have common sense,
Don't listen.
Quick to defend ignorance.
And are pretentious in displaying their offense.
Since this conflicts with discipline!
An activity for them too lazy to inflict.
Restricting their insight!
And manifesting a grossly limited comprehension of life.

'If money is not attached,
No attention is given! '

Taxed

Taxed in our groceries and taxed in our pay
The taxman keeps taking from us every day
But of heavy taxes the bureaucrats he spare
Tax every battler not the billionaire.

Who says that everything in life is fair
The wealthy of tax never pay their fair share
The wealthy getting wealthier with advantage on their side
And the gap getting wider in the social divide.

More taxes on petrol and more taxes on beer
Of taxes and more taxes is all that we hear
Taxed in our electricity bills and taxed by our bank
For some of our poverty the tax man we can thank.

Taxes even on the water that we drink
Soon they will tax us on the thoughts we think
We are burdened by taxes it does seem to me
And it's thanks to the tax man for our poverty.

The Sinking Fund Cried

["Now what, we ask, is become of this Sinking Fund - these eight millions of surplus above expenditure, which were to reduce the interest of the national debt by the amount of four hundred thousand pounds annually? Where, indeed, is the Sinking Fund itself?" - The Times]

Take your bell, take your bell,
Good Crier, and tell
To the Bulls and the Bears, till their ears are stunn'd,
That, lost or stolen,
Or fall'n through a hole in
The Treasury floor, is the Sinking Fund!

O yes! O yes!
Can anybody guess
What the deuce has become of this Treasury wonder?
It has Pitt's name on't,
All brass, in the front,
And R--b--ns--n's scrawl'd with a goose-quill under.

Folks well knew what
Would soon be its lot,
When Frederick or Jenky set hobnobbing,[1]
And said to each other,
"Suppose, dear brother,
We make this funny old Fund worth robbing."

We are come, alas!
To a very pretty pass --
Eight Hundred Millions of score, to pay,
With but Five in the till,
To discharge the bill,
And even that Five too, whipp'd away!

Stop thief! stop thief! --
From the Sub to the Chief,
These Genmen of Finance are plundering cattle --
Call the watch, call Bougham
Tell Joseph Hume,
That best of Charleys, to spring his rattle.

Whoever will bring
This aforesaid thing
To the well-known house of Robinson and Jenkin,
Shall be paid, with thanks,
In the notes of banks,
Whose Funds have all learn'd "the Art of Sinking."

O yes! O yes!
Can any body guess
What the devil has become of the Treasury wonder?
It has Pitt's name on 't,
All brass, in the front,
And R--b--ns--n's, scrawl'd with a goose-quill under.
