Too Happy to Fit a Bitterness into My Schedule
Never once,
Did I suggest, hint or insinuate...
Your way of life and outlook,
Was a prefabrication.
You knew my beliefs were different.
And we did not let that become between us,
As friends.
But of late,
You have become more irate.
And you seem to be annoyed,
I am not expressing disappointment...
That you are struggling,
To keep your head above water.
When I faced obstacles on my chosen path.
You laughed.
Expressing no empathy at all.
In fact,
You and your 'friends'...
Would wine and dine,
And socialize without end.
If fact,
You had more time with them to spend.
You then would ignore my calls,
When I needed your company...
As a friend to another.
To say something to me,
In the support of keeping me from not feeling...
Completely lonely.
And this is what you said...
'You made that bed,
Now lay in it by yourself.'
Well...
You made that bed,
Now lay in it by yourself.
You should be comfortable with those words.
But then,
To them I would add...
~Where are those 'friends'?
The ones you chose over me? ~
Am I harborng a bit of bitterness?
No.
Just stating to you what I know to be true.
I'm too happy to fit a bitterness into my schedule.

All Friendships Do Not End Well
The number of friends you have in your life does seem all up to you
And that all friendships do not end well happens to be true
And often at the end of a friendship an enemy is made
And bitterness sets in when by your friend you've been betrayed,
Your friend for life the good and the hard times with you will share
Though friends for life are and have always been rare
Feel lucky if you have one good friend in the town
One who will stand by you when you are feeling down
You know who your friend is when of support you are in need
For a friend at such a time is a true friend indeed
The great gift of true friendship we ought to celebrate
For your true friend more than a friend to you is a soul mate
It is not an uncommon thing to hear one say
The one I thought was my friend my trust did betray.

What is a Friend?
True friends will never let each other down
True friends will tell each other when they are right or wrong
True friends listen to their problems without casting judgment
True friends are never afraid to tell you like it is
A true friend knows when to say no
A true friend will never flop you
A true friend will be supportive of all you do
A true friend will be there to dry your weeping eyes
A true friend will lend a shoulder for you to cry on
A true friend cares how you are doing
A true friend cares about your day-to-day life
A true friend always calls and checks up on you
A true friend gives of himself/herself without asking for anything in return
A true friend would not lend you money but give you whatever they can
A true friend may argue, fuss, and fight with you but will always be there for you
A true friend forgives you for your shortcomings
A true friend will come to your aid no matter what time of day it is
A true friend doesn’t wait to hear from you to make the first call
A true friend just calls to chitchat with you
A true friend is like a Godsend in times of perils
A true friend is always welcoming
A true would give you the coat off their backs
A true friend knows enough is enough
A true friend will be by your side when you need them the most
A true friend will run an intercept or blockage for you
True friends will CYA for each other
True friends knows that this world wasn’t promised to us
True friends make the best of a bad situation
True friends keeps each others secretes
True friends keeps no secretes from one another
True friends share each other’s lives
A true friend is forever
Are you a true friend?
Ask yourself that question
Can you be a true friend?
Do you deserve a good friend?
There are no goodbyes in life, just hellos
Hello friend

More Of A Convenience
Time should never be the reason,
Why what is loved...
Needs more of it for someone to find.
If it's true and there to stay on one's mind.
Only to digress from expressing it to address,
When amongst friends who wine and dine.
Confused by what it is that fits,
To legitimize whenever the setting calls for it...
One can not admit exists,
Isn't love!
This is more of a convenience,
That seeks someone to permit its permanence.

Change
Forever friends you promise
together til the end
we did everything with each other
you were my best friend
When I was sad, you were by my side
when I was scared, you felt my fear
you were my best support
if I needed you, you were there
You were the greatest friend
you always knew what to say
you made everything seem better
as long as we had each other
everything would be okay
But something along the line
we slowly came apart
I was here, you were there
it tore a hole in my heart
Things were changing
our cheerful music reversed it's tune
it was like having salt without it's pepper
a sun without it's moon
Suddenly we were miles apart
two different people, with nothing the same
it was as if we hadn't been friends
although we knew deep in our hearts
neither one of us was ro blame
You had made many new friends
and luckily so had I
but that didn't change the hurt
The loss of our friendship made me cry
As we grow older, things must change
but they don't always have to end
even though it is different now
you will always be my friend.

Not Lonely or Alone
Don't think you're alone
Nobody's alone in this world
If you don't have friends than God is watching you
God is watching you and protecting you everyday
God doesn't want you to feel lonely
He wants you to be happy
God might send a person who wants to be your friend to you
Why?
God knows that you're lonely and he never wants anybody to be lonely
So He sends a companion that will be by your side everyday
To make you happy, support you, and to share their kindess to you
If you think you're alone and feel lonely
Maybe I could help too
I always love to make people happy
If you don't have any friends, maybe I could be your friend
Don't think you're lonely
If you do... think about what God thinks and what I think
God and I never want anybody to think they're alone and feel lonely
I would like to be everybody's friend
Because I know everybody has good and bad
Even I do
I have friends who are mean to me
But I'm their friend
Because I know that they can't be happy without me
I'm sad when they are sad
Even if they're harsh
I'll be their friend
A friend always to look out for and support everyday
So don't think you're alone because you're not.
What Be A Friend Of Thee? What Be This Friend To Ye?
Perchance i might say old friend...
You are my one of all friend to friends of a friend of all friends.
Friends are a lot that are few in time...
A friend is a friend of mine be so ever good and sublime.
A friend will not ask you to go to jail for them...
A true friend will stay behind with you or not
soon depart from you when you've become mad at them.
A friend will stay and talk with you when time is of the area of being early or late...
A friend will accompany you on a double date when the woman
he has chosen for you just might be of the ugliest and hideousest of state.
What is a friend true or best? ...
A friend is a friend, no matter what be your best given test.

True Friends Remain
I have friends,
Very few friends I only trust,
They were there for me when I needed them the most,
A true friends indeed,
They took me under their wings and show me there is meaning in life,
Friends indeed they’re,
I care for them as they cares for me,
True friends remain in my own domain,
How I love them as if they were my sister or my brother,
They’re my true friend,
And I shall try my best to be their true friend as well.

What Makes A True Friend?
What are the qualities that a friend should
have – that which would make a true friend so true?
A friend is one whom you like to be with
while a true friend insists on being with you.
A friend likes you when you have so much in
common. True friends like you who for who you are.
True friends make you feel as though they are at
all times near, although they are very far.
A true friend is one whom you can always
talk to, even at night when it is late -
when loved ones are asleep, a true friend is
always there to hear what you have to say.
Friends like to share, but a true friend always
gives you – not what you want, but what you need.
The feelings you hide, as well as your thoughts,
and your dreams, a true friend can always read.
A friend may forgive you or they may not
forgive, for something wrong you've done to them.
A true friend forgives even when you don't
ask. True friends forgive - again and again.
Friends are close when you are close to them. A
true friend wants your friendship to be closer.
A true friend does what is best for you, and
hates that you would end up with the losers.
A true friend teaches you lessons to help
you grow – lessons that are hard and easy.
A true friend is always there - having a
true friend can never make you feel lonely.
Friends may sometimes make mistakes, but a true
friend is always careful not to hurt you.
A true friend is a guide and a teacher.
A true friend knows everything you go through.
The true friend I mention is our God,
who kept you company before you were born.
The friendship of God, if you truly keep
and cherish, you will never feel forlorn.
The true friend we all need is God (Allah) –
the One who guides and can teach us lessons,
the One who hears our calls and understands,
the One always near – in every season –
Allah, as a Friend, never judges us
by the way we look and how we appear.
Allah, as a Guide, if we ask Him for
guidance, He guides us and makes our paths clear.
Allah is with us – each day and each night –
He is always there when all are asleep.
Allah always listens when others don't.
He gives you comfort when He sees you weep.
Fortunate are those who have Allah as
a Friend. Friendship with God is friendship true.
May Allah bless me with His Friendship and
May Allah's Friendship be shared with you too.
Ameen.

Good Friends
(c. gantry, l. chera)
Feeling one anothers joy and sorrow
Dreams today may come true tomorrow
Good friends
Close together like theyre bookends
Feeling what the other one is feeling
They never seem to be without
Those little things to laugh about
Good friends
They have the kind of love
That only deepens
Its something that you rarely find worth keeping
Oh people even new ones come
Youre lucky if you find just one good friend
And we say goodbye
Knowing what we have will fade away
Well meet another time
Another day
My friend
Good friends
Their paths may never come together again
But in their hearts
Theyre on a road with no end
Where life will take us who can tell
Guess its time to say farewell
My friend
Good friends
You never will forget
Your good friends

You Lied to me
You said we'd always be friends
and you wanted to stay in touch
so why then don't you ever call
is it because you don't care that much?
The address you gave me I reckon you made up
and the phone number I was told was wrong
it was you who said we were soul mates
and our friendship would always be strong.
I knew that you wanted to move away
and you needed a much better life
but I wanted us to be more than friends
in fact I was hoping you'd become my wife.
You said it was fate that brought us together
and a true friendship would never ever die
but since that day you waved and drove away
I haven't received a single call from you, why?
But wherever you are I hope you are happy
because I remember the day you went you cried
you said a lot of things to me as you left
but now I know you didn't mean them, so you lied.

People And Their Situations Do Change
If it is true you knew,
How I felt in those times...
Where were you,
To help me empty...
Those many buckets of tears,
I cried.
If it is true,
My struggles with agony...
Had been something you knew.
If it is true you knew,
Who planted obstacles on my path...
Why were you not there for me at all?
And when I reach out to you,
You dismissed me and laughed.
If it 'is' true you knew,
What I was going through...
You said nothing about it,
Until several years have passed.
And,
If it is true you knew...
Anything about me at all,
Why have you waited until today...
To appear to say,
You are experiencing your own downfall.
To what degree of an empathy,
Do expect from me...
To receive?
'People and their situations change.'
I couldn't say that any better.
I agree.
Trust me.
And that person you say you knew back then,
Has matured to improve...
On my expectations of 'friends'.
And can see people and things as they are.
With a re-arrangement done to philosophies,
Without a passing of judgement on them.
'People and their situations change.'
I couldn't say that any better.
I agree.
Trust me.
And I've been blessed with a peace,
I am going to protect and keep.
And all I can do is wish you the best.
With a peacefulness I am feeling.
Hoping one day,
The same for you will come your way.
People and their situations do change.
Of that,
I totally agree.
But an empathy from me you wish to receive...
Was not from you,
Ever given to me from you to give...
To believe you can receive.
I agree...
People and their situations do change,
A lot!

Wounded Man
I am not a desolate man..nor a lonely man..I am not also a sea port.. where no ships land and shelter..I am not a lighthouse..isolated and left solitary near the sea bare sea rocks..I have enough number of friends...whose value I knew or have not known..forg otten or not forgetten...I have also a spouse...I found in my late years of life..I am just a wounded man...sometimes by you...sometimes by your words..or sometimes by spades or pick axes...at first...a needle had past through my tiny fingers...I do not remember when....when I was just beginning to walk...my sister told me once.... trying to give a sewing machine a caress...Then when I was attending to my boarding school...a pick axe fell on my feet... when we were hunting the locusts in the garden....with my new friends.....years later then...glass pı erced my wrist and lips....I lay in the infirmary for weeks....skipping my lessons...in fact I am not so naughty...just eager to see....be a friend be...just a wounded man...when ı retired as an old grown up man.... I was very stunned...break my left hip bone...falling on a pavement stone....I am not a man alone...when my friends lefty this boring world....one by one....I regret....being alive...living blind and lame...not knowing...where I am going...and destined to....That is what I am....I am not a man desolate and solitary....I am just a tired man...and wounded deeply...mostly the words wound me....especially the words of my friends and special ones hurt me...injure me...deeply and sadly....I) ha ve not chosen this life of mine....what a pity...I will leave it one day some day....wounded and feeling a bit guilty...

Friend Like You
Feeling Proud To Have A Friend Like You,
I'm On Clouds Nine When I'm With You,
Among All My Friends You Are Truest Of True,
You Are The One Who Made My Hardships Smile,
And Our Relation Is As Long As Nile...
To Me, You Are A Shining Star,
Made My Life Better, Day By Day, So Far,
We Cried, We Laughed Together,
What Changes May Happen Doesn't Matter,
Coz We Are Gonna Stay With Each Other Forever......
So What That We Are Miles Apart,
We Are One At Heart,
The Bond We Share Is Purely True,
That's Why Feeling Proud To Have A Friend Like You.........

Friends
In our childhoods days
Together we would play
People said we were inseparable
Like a brother then
My protective friend
He would always take good care of me
Friends thats what we are just
Friends no more or less oh
Here we are sharing so much fun
Friends why cant he see that I want him
To be more than my friend
Years have come and gone
Still our friendships strong
Now hes more than just the boy next door
Im in love with him
Guess Ive always been
He doesnt know hes all Im living for
Friends thats all we are just
Friends so near yet so far from love
And oh the joy that he can bring
Friends why cant he see that I want him
To be more than my friend
Id like to tell him that I need him bad
But Im afraid if I do I might lose
The only friend that I have
Friends thats all we are just
Friends so near yet so far from love and thus
Well always remain friends
Friends why cant he see that I want us
To be more than just friends

Who Is Your Best Friend?
Everybody needs friends, we all have friends
Some friends are closer to us than our families
If we happen to fall, there are friends to pick us up
What will our life be without friends?
There are many categories of friendship
There are casual friends, bad friends and good friends
The question here is – who is your best friend?
Friends who can turn your tears into laughter
Is your wife your best friend?
I mean the friend you go to
When you need honest advice
Is your husband your best friend?
I mean the friend who knows you
More than you know yourself
Is your brother or sister your best friend?
I mean the friend who always assists you
To solve difficult personal problems
Is your father or mother your best friend?
I mean the friend you feel safe to keep secrets
Are your in-laws your best friend?
I mean the friend you can tell anything
Is your boss or co-worker your best friend?
I mean the friend who can cover you up at work
Is your son or daughter your best friend?
I mean the friend you use as sounding board
For all your confidential and private thoughts
Is your former classmate your best friend?
I mean the friend who cheers you up on bad days
Whoever may be your best friend, remember that
A friend in need is always a friend indeed

Facts
some dreams do not come true
no problem about that
promises are made to be broken
not new to me really
some friends are not really friends
but enemies in disguise
i am learning about this fact
some loves are meant for lust
i am used to these
some moments are better used for silence
i love these
some lives simply become wasted
i am not surprised
some people just want to survive
live a life they choose
and cease the evil of comparisons
i begin this now
i dismiss my view on a love so true
it is not really late
for now i am moving on, just moving on
even without you.

Living Under Such Duress
You had been the one to chose,
To ignore the wounds and sores...
Upon others done.
Hunger and homelessness,
Were those things not addressed.
Since you were then not affected.
In fact,
You had expressed...
A disdained for those suppressed.
And living under such duress.
That you are now stressed,
By similar distresses.
Why are your needs more of a priority?
When it has been your selfishness,
And way of life kept...
That has created today's disasterous effects!
And I,
Still affected...
By your decades of unwarranted disrespect,
Am accused of not expressing...
To you an empathy you feel I should direct?
Your delusions have created this mess!
Not mine!
