Their Eyes Are Smiling
Hungry are the people,
Who seek to rid their fences.
They wish to heal a brokenness...
That aided their indifference.
And quickly they awaken,
From their foolishness and defenses.
Clearing misunderstandings,
Are sought with a demanding.
Something in the air,
Is making all aware...
A forgiveness is now commanding!
Being chased away is evil!
The demons can feel their ending.
No longer are they given,
Ears willing to give them a listen.
Their days are numbered and so are they.
And they are holding onto strategies...
That are slowly fading away!
Hungry are the people,
Who seek to rid their fences.
They wish to heal a brokenness...
That aided their indifference.
And quickly they awaken,
From their foolishness and defenses.
And their eyes are smiling!
As divisions between them abide and subside!

Diminishing Defenses
Let's remove the platitudes.
And rid the phony subtleties,
To dropp to be who we are...
To let that be seen,
Moving forward to do more progressive things.
You offend. I offend.
Let us diminish the fences.
Diminishing defenses.
Let's remove the platitudes,
I defend. You defend.
Let us diminish the fences.
Diminishing defenses.
Let's remove the platitudes.
You offend. I offend.
Let us diminish the fences.
And let's do it to prove,
It done,
To do.
Diminishing defenses.
Down with the fences.
You offend. I offend.
Let us diminish the fences.
Diminishing defenses.
Let's remove the platitudes,
I defend. You defend.
Let us diminish the fences.
Diminishing defenses.
Let us remove those platitudes
Diminishing defenses.
Down with the fences.
Let us remove those platitudes
Diminishing defenses.
Down with the fences.
Let us remove those platitudes.
Diminishing defenses.
Down with the fences.
Diminishing defenses.
Let us remove those platitudes.
Let us remove those platitudes.
Diminishing defenses.
Down with the fences.
Diminishing defenses.
Down with the fences.
Diminishing defenses.

Left Too Long
A threaded needle could be used to heal,
A torn and tattered memory...
Held and labelled as love too long.
That came apart at the seams.
Pieces of those memories,
When one was young and full of...
Immaturity!
And it is never too late to reveal...
Whose hurt.
But that dream to patch and rematch again,
Seems to be only in the mind of one...
Thinking it would be worth it,
To fix a brokenness...
That has been sitting and left too long.
A brokenness that has been left too long...
To sit discouraged wondering...
Would trying to mend a brokenness be wrong?
Would the effort be dismissed and those feelings gone?
And a threading together would never find acceptance.

Refreshing Visions
When an opportunity comes,
To break down a barrier
That has separated someone.
It must be done!
To undo,
What should not have begun...
In pursuit to manifest division.
A sense of accomplishment
Over a perceived detriment is won!
Prevails with striking enlightenment,
To be hailed in a rejoicing that melds.
Lifting with a rejuvenation shared.
And a foolishness that awakens consciousness,
Is dismissed to embrace a clarity once resisted.
Dared by curiosity and myth!
Quickly healing these splits ensured...
With wishes of forgiveness delivered.
To reveal those misunderstandings held!
And witnessing them drift away,
Under clearing skies...
To brightened eyes,
With refreshing visions!

Hungry Eyes
Hungry eyes
Ive been meaning to tell you
Ive got this feelin that wont subside
I look at you and I fantasize
You are mine tonight
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you and i
I want to hold you so hear me out
I want to show you what loves all about
Darlin tonight
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you
And Ive got hungry eyes
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
Now did I take you by surprise
I need you to see
This love was meant to be
Ive got hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you
And Ive got hungry eyes
Now Ive got you in my sights
With those hungry eyes
Did I take you by surprise
With my hungry eyes

Too Many Desperate People Far From Calm
Too many enemies,
Defended against!
Too many enemies,
Picked from picket fences.
Too many people,
Offended by the minute.
Who think the laws amended...
Give others right to bend!
Too many people up in arms dropping bombs.
Too many people dropping bomb after bomb...
KABOOM-BOOM!
Too many people up in arms dropping bombs.
Too many people dropping bomb after bomb,
BOOM!
Too many enemies,
Picked from picket fences.
And weakening defenses!
Too many people up in arms dropping bombs.
KABOOM-BOOM!
Too many people dropping bomb after bomb...
BOOM-BOOM.
Too many gloomy people seeking to BOOM!
Too many people up in arms,
Alarmed!
Too many desperate people,
Far from calm.
Too many people feeling they are in harm.

I don't believe in devils. Indifference and misunderstandings can create evil situations. Most of the time, people who appear to be evil are really victims of evil deeds.

The Times We Now Live That Takes Away Breaths
In the disarray of these days we now face,
I keep my concentration focused upon my deeds.
And less upon comments made by others,
About me...
My deeds.
And what beliefs about me they whisper,
To others giving them time to listen.
I could only wish people like that...
A less traumatic awakening.
Since I seek the company,
Of those few who are awake.
To mature AND awaken to accept,
The times we now live that takes away breaths...
In a neck breaking speed,
Is here.
And so blessed is the feeling,
To have one's peace of mind intact!
That's a fact!
And 'that' takes a long time in development.
It comes with experiencing life and not rehearsing it...
As some would think.
Or kept practiced as if to impress.
As some still do!
Life is much too precious to accept foolishness.
And that is...
But just one of the many of the many many lessons...
I have had to learn.

All That Is Regarded Foolishness
With experiences lived.
And an aging process accepted,
One realizes upon reflection...
How much easier it is to judge.
Than it is to self-examine.
Not many are fortunate to survive,
Through life threatening diseases.
To then step aside with their eyes open wide,
With a freeing of themselves from insecurities left...
Hidden deep inside to confront and rid.
With experiences lived.
And an aging process accepted,
One realizes upon reflection...
How much easier it is to judge.
Than it is to self-examine.
But when that moment in time comes,
An accepting of one's flaws and blemishes are done.
With a leaving behind trivial nonsense.
And all that is regarded as foolishness,
Becomes less tolerated to quickly dismiss.
Yesterday and those mistakes made,
And all that is regarded as foolishness...
Becomes less tolerated to quickly dismiss.
Wishing for excuses and alibis to create,
Becomes less tolerated to quickly dismiss.
And all that is regarded as foolishness disappears.

When A Maturity Much Needed Is Sought And Begins
All foolishness started between us will end,
When a maturity much needed is sought and begins.
Those games chosen to play,
To protect insecurities...
Needing to be chased away,
Are nothing more than childish pranks.
Overdue for a ridding...
Instead of pursuing them to please,
A mental dysfunction to outdo and out rank.
I've lost all attraction to play games like that.
I will return your calls.
But a tolerance of a nonsense initiated,
I no longer accept at all.
What point is made,
By a charading done to masquerade?
And in these days we live call for a seriousness.
With my desire to continue on like this...
Leaving you behind with the times I will not miss.
All foolishness started between us will end,
When a maturity much needed is sought and begins.

De-Mystified
Demystified are these days now existing.
Coming to pry closed eyes open.
Abruptly to startle without finesse!
Demystified are these days now existing.
Many are surprised,
By the turn of events!
While those of fading power,
Scurry to seek shelter...
In their final hour.
Feel pushed up against,
Thick concrete walls...
Trying to avoid,
Being locked up behind...
Razor sharpened,
Barbed wire fences!
And still they search for excuses,
To relieve themselves from their blatant abuses...
And evidence of their offenses.
Inhumane they have been!
These misdeeds should get them lynched!
When secrets kept...
Find them inept!
But they create defenses 'still',
To hide behind lies in an overkill.
With attempts to deny and convince,
The laws in place...
Are to be changed; erased, replaced!
There are no boundaries set...
To limit their disgraces.
Touched by mental ills!
And those believed blinded,
By their dose of crimes ungrounded.
Rejoice when the time comes...
When these crooks are finally confined,
For their atrocities done!
And demystifying a reach for peace...
These thieves enjoyed,
Decreasing in pieces!

Hungry
By dick simms and marcy levy
Last night as I stepped into the stage lights,
I heard the people cry when they saw my face.
Theres nothing like our hearts beating in time.
The crowd may inspire, but you give me my strength.
Oh, hungry, Im hungry, Im hungry for your sweet smile.
Lonely, Im lonely, Im lonely, I need to hold you for a while.
Ive been slipping into desperation;
Youre the only salvation that the lord designed.
Your absence is controlling my defenses.
My life is senseless without you by my side.
Chorus
Chorus
Loose ladies on the road will drive you crazy.
Every no becomes a maybe, it never takes too long.
Missing you, I dont know what Im gonna do.
You dont know what Im going through; everything seems wrong.
Chorus

Words.... (Poetry Itself)
words do not heal the broken hearted,
words do not end wars.
words do not change the face of indifference,
words do not impress god!
words do not feed the hungry,
nor set the captives free.
words do not give shelter to the homeless,
or hope to those ridden with despair.
words do not stop discrimination,
words do not bring justice.
words do not bring forgiveness,
nor do they bring understanding...
words do not fill the empty,
nor erase the scars of love...
words do not define dialogue!
it is only then,
the hands and feet of the human heart...
and poetry itself is nothing more,
than the action of involved compassion!

Come Listen To The Music
I hear the music of the heavenly angels
Coming softly through the blue sky from above
Blending with the music from on the mountain tops
Bringing to all earth's people messages of love.
The song birds are singing to the angels' music
Telling us to hear the words of truth very clear,
"All of earth's people are more alike than different
And to help each other will leave no room for fear".
Come listen to the music of quiet gentle breezes
And music from wild flowers growing on the hill
Whispering softly to awaken our spirits
Saying, "Only listen and let your hearts be still,
So to hear the music from the living waters
That can bring abundance wherever there is need,
Can heal all broken hearts burdened with sorrow,
And can free the people caught by their fears and greed".
Listen to music from the world's throbbing heartbeat
Commanding its people to live in true harmony
By hearing the voices of heavenly angels
Singing love, joy, and peace can be our destiny.
Listen to the music in kind smiling faces
And the music of a child laughing gleefully
Both creating music with notes of "Just Caring".
Won't you please come listen to this music with me?

You can also make explicit certain social problems which, again, would be prejudged or not encountered at all in real life, because people have set up defenses against it. Fantasy allows you to get past defenses.

Teach Me How to Eat
If you notice I stay hungry,
Teach me how to eat.
If you notice no baloney,
Teach me how to eat.
More discipline I may be needing.
Teach me how to eat.
More seriousness I may yet miss.
Teach me how to eat.
No medications do I take,
To keep a pace that irritates.
No longer young with dumb ideals.
Teach me how to eat.
I wish a peace that keeps me feeding.
So teach me how to eat.
I see in you more than in some.
The ones who can not overcome.
I see some stumble as others run.
But you,
Know how to eat.
Success you've reached and still you seek.
Teach me how to eat...
I'm hungry.
Teach me how to eat.
Success you've reached and still you seek.
Teach me how to eat...
I'm hungry.
Teach me how to eat.
If you notice I stay hungry,
Teach me how to eat.
If you notice no baloney,
Teach me how to eat.
I'm hungry.
Teach me how to eat.
Teach me how to eat.
I'm hungry.
Teach me how to eat.

Modern Christian Thought...
it is both the absurdity and the convenience
of modern Christian thought that bewilders me...
the idea that one can place all his/her mistakes
and wrong doings on the shoulders of one man
crucified 2000 years ago, and be totally absolved
of any responsibility...
that with a few prayers and an offering, we are
absolved from the responsibility for feeding the hungry,
housing the homeless, healing t...he sick...
have we not missed the point of the teaching?
does 'Follow Me' not denote just that?
follow, do as he did, live as he lived.
feed the hungry, house the homeless, heal the sick!
get down in the ditches with the common and poor.
do we not each have our own cross to carry?
our own Golgotha... our own crucifixion?
for our sins, and for humanity's sins... the greatest of
which is indifference!
not condemnation, but compassion!
not being set apart, but part of!
is forgiveness not an action? ....
the action of being human!

We Who....
we who would seek a home,
find our home with the homeless.
we who seek truth,
know the tree to be a tree!
we who seek liberty,
throw all that we own onto the fire.
we who seek love,
feed the hungry.
we who seek companionship,
simply become dialogue...
we who would seek god,
well, all of the above.
we who seek tomorrow,
give today to a stranger...
and wrap his feet up
with our dreams!

Got to Knock Those Fences Down
We've got to knock,
Those fences down!
And every opposition,
Creating tensions mentioned.
Those defenses we keep hanging around...
Gotta be knocked knocked knocked to the ground.
Minimizing mistakes once made.
And lay purpose to correct our ways.
They will stand up in dismay,
To say they dislike what is said.
Those feeble beavers.
Munching on foundations.
Degrading with fixations...
To increase their greed,
Feeding sickened mentalities.
While some choose to sniff for floral scents...
Refusing to acknowledge,
The presence of decadence.
Hoping to get as high as possible...
On pretense and attempts,
For meaningless attention.
Those defenses we keep hanging around...
Gotta be knocked knocked knocked to the ground.
Minimizing mistakes once made.
And lay purpose to correct our ways.
We've got to knock,
Those fences down!
And every opposition,
Creating tensions mentioned.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to a new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile.
Little Lamb You Don't Understand
My little one. My little one, where have you gone?
You have left the flock, and you say your too far gone.
My little one. My little one, where are you now?
You say life isn't easy, but neither was my crown.
My little one. My little one, are you coming back to stay?
That is my one desire. What I hope for and what I pray.
My little one. My little one, lift up your face.
You see my house, my kingdom is all made of grace.
There is no need to hide and be filled with your past mistakes.
For my love never changes...there may be pain tonight, but there will be a new day filled with joy come the new morn.
Is that not the reason of which you were born?
There is no need to be in morning any longer because I have made you stronger.
My love for you lasts longer than the rain falling on you, than the pain you feel everyday, the times where there seems to be nothing left to do than go insane.
You are my child, my daughter, and my princess.
You deserve far more than what you give yourself.
You deserve a perfect love, a true love, and to understand that I am the reason that you breathe and that I am all you need.
Just come to me...draw near to me.
Let me pick you up daughter, and dust you off.
Let me put you on my knee, and listen to your pleas for freedom and your sanity.
For I can only fulfill your need, and only I can hear all your pleas... the ones you vocalize and the ones you don't.
Here is the thing...I know before you ask, I just want you to talk to me...I am you Father.
I have been here the whole time cleansing your wounds even as they were happening.
I can heal your brokenness, your heart, your mind...just let ME do it with my perfect time.
I have you in mind...so don't think I am blind-just let me heal you one stitch at a time, and forever you will be mine.
