The Visit
It's not that I want everything for nothing.
I just want a part of you,
I value.
That side of you clouded by your moods.
I don't see often enough.
Only when you decide you have fed your solitude.
To thank me for a patience...
I don't understand myself.
I just see something else,
I choose not to be near.
I only wish before you express bitterness...
To let me in!
But you are too quick to let anger slip from your lips.
And I am left alone to defend our relationship!
Do I need this?
Am I that much in love with you,
To feel I should remain patriotic and brave in combat?
Don't laugh.
I am serious.
You have me feeling like that at times.
Like I am walking through a minefield...
Prepared for ambush!
Whatever that is that occurs with you each month...
Needs to warn me that it is coming!
Even the pets...
They too refuse to come near you.
What can we do to improve upon 'the visit'...
When it comes again?
And, honey...
Is it possibe,
That you can give me a date and hour of its next arrival?

Anger and Patience
Any time I don't understand something
Or feel unhappy with the way things are going,
Anger steps up, 'use me; let me help'
And I used to give Anger a lot of free rein,
Till I noticed Anger wasn't all that useful
And generally tended to only make things worse.
Now I try to rely more on 'Patience'
As Patience doesn't keep clicking that counter,
Adding up every resentment of the hour.
Besides, I can look straight into Patience's face
And not have one clue what Patience is thinking of.
You know, Anger could learn something from that.

Ambush
You're distant honey - Mr. Cool
You lock up your feelings - nobody's fool
You're facing the world
With your fist clenched tight
Tough guy - tough guy facing the fight
Don't forget to remember
She's coming up in back
Even you surrender
Surrender to her sweet attack
Ambush - ambush come from behind
Ambush - ambush capture your mind
Ambush - ambush I'm in disguise
Ambush - ambush take you by surprise
When you don't expect it
That's when she appear
Whisper your fancy - licking your ear
Put her arms around you - give a little squeeze
One little taste bring you to your knees
The way she touch - is almost too much
When she lay - lay that claim
You beg - begging her name
Ambush - ambush come from behind
Ambush - ambush capture your mind
Ambush - ambush I'm in disguise
Ambush - ambush take you by surprise
I'm telling you right up front
You're the prisoner
She do what she want
Ambush - ambush come from behind
Ambush - ambush capture your mind
Ambush - ambush I'm in disguise
Ambush - ambush take you by surprise
Ambush - ambush I'm in disguise
Ambush - ambush take you by surprise

Pretend a Disconnection Has Been Made
What we talk about...
Is that more important,
Than those feelings we feel?
What we do to ourselves and others.
Should we continue to excuse this?
As a way of life we choose?
A tolerated suppression,
Has led many to express unhappiness.
As if this was a gift to expect.
UNTIL 'all' of our efforts are made,
To improve our outlooks, funky moods and attitudes...
We can choose to do what some still do.
Strut away with lips shut.
Put stuck up butts on high shoulders.
And 'pretend' a disconnection,
Has been made!

Making This A Rule Communicated
There are times when it does pay,
To be of a different kind of mind.
With an offering that expands...
Choices unexpectedly for some to find.
Few today are dedicated.
And show themselves to be elated,
With an awakening everyday anticipating...
Love to witness and joy that is shared.
Choosing they do to move from moods to prove,
That...
Everyone has a choice to improve or change their tune,
And...
Dump excuses made with attitudes to refuse.
With...
A shooing them to the curb to boot.
There are those who choose to move from moods to prove,
That...
Everyone has a choice to improve or change their tune.
And...
Dump excuses made with attitudes to refuse.
With...
A shooing them to the curb to boot.
And...
Making this a rule communicated.

Robust Thruster
I love life.
And the mystery of not knowing what comes next.
Like a roller coaster ride one takes.
A robust thruster,
With thrills absent of brakes.
Coming to take my breath away...
To leave me to recover,
As the adrenaline within me shakes.
This...
Is the life I love!
To experience like no other,
Animation made...
Within my mental state to date.
Teased and filled and free of safe escapes.
Adventurous is my mind,
When these moments come!
With temptation that persuades.
I can choose to relax and rest...
After my fantasies have pleased delusions,
I have put to test.
At least with a pen,
Or typed to give life to them!
I love life!
And the choice to choose,
To name each imagination I like!
Enjoying each ride as I decide.
Fulfilling a need that stirs inside!
However...
This one comes and I can't refuse!
It wants me to use it without excuse.
Until another...
Arrives for me to discover,
That satisfies my exploring druthers.
With this quick boost that comes to lift...
To keep my mind from becoming idled,
From other trips I have exhausted.
I shall entitle this,
'Robust Thruster'.
Completing it until its visit,
Leaves me breathless...
To select from limited words,
Attempted to depict it.

For An Anger That Comes to Visit
Most of them have no discipline at all.
Nor have they had a patriotic thought.
Not within those of shallow conciousness.
Or expressed a patriotic deed...
Disconnected from materialistic needs.
Their mouths have been open to be fed.
And they have only known to feed their greed.
So it should come as no surprise,
They do not understand...
The bitterness that lies,
Under the surface of someone...
Who finds it difficult to close their eyes,
And can not forget losing a love one
To war, pain or suffering.
Or a day they awaken with those feelings met.
Or participate in needless conflicts.
Ones long gone...
But their minds can not forget.
And to endure these constant images...
Coming when they please,
To haunt.
While watching others sit back...
Undaunted as they flaunt their trivial existences.
And not have a care connected to this,
At all!
Yes...
I can say,
I've lived through it.
That's why I can be appalled,
Without a need to apologize to anyone...
For an anger that comes to visit!
And dedicated to my memories.
Yes...
I can say,
I've lived through it.
Sometimes in masquerade.
And doing that quite well.
Praying...
As I thank God everyday,
I have no traits of Godzilla!
Or any other destructive being,
Real or imagined...
To chase away those in fear screaming,
From something horrific that they've seen.

Been There
Been there.
With lips poked out.
Doubting my life
Is anything to shout about!
Been there.
Feeling despair and an emptiness.
With anger prepared to inflict bitterness.
Wanting someone to care...
And declaring I couldn't share!
I've been there...
And I am not having any part of that,
Where I am now.
Those flaws have been removed from denial.
I am no longer thirsting to rehearse pretentions.

The visit
You were residing in Anne Fisher house
and I in Salisbury
at the private university
lying at the foot
of Helderberg mountain.
I bought a box of chocolates
early one night
at a Café in Somerset West
and they even wrapped it
and while the sun
was still high in the sky
I went to visit you.
The student on duty
called you
over the microphone
and suddenly you looked shy
but was quite happy
to see me.
We walked out on the ramp
leading to the foyer
and you had a white jacket on
and stood chatting
in the open,
and we were just
a guy and a girl
that was falling in love.
I could see the beach
over your shoulder
and the blue sea
but my attention
was on your smiling face
and your mesmerizing eyes.
You gave me a quick kiss,
just a peck on the lips
to say thank you
and my heart sang
but suddenly
a camera flashed
catching us.
A day later
I was called in
by the men’s dean
and he spread
some photos
on his desk
out in front of me.
There was anger in his eyes
and he said
that my ridiculous relationship
with you must end immediately.
If I went out of my way
to do something seriously wrong
I would have been able
to understand his reaction,
but for trying to date you
and for a moment
I was dumfounded.
“I have proof that you were
closer than three meters to her
and you even kissed her
and it’s totally against the policy.”
Before coming to University
I was called up by the military,
completed two years of service
and I wasn’t a boy
after seeing action in the war
in South West Africa
and in Angola.
I told him
that he just as well
can stop the ridiculous relationship
with his wife.
He was well built
and probably a fitness freak
and got up so suddenly
that his chair
went to the ground.
His hands was on my chest
and he rammed me
into the wall
pushing his face
into mine
screaming: “Say that again.”
My anger went away
but the calm was the same
with which I had faced
the enemy
and in my eyes
he saw death
coming on.
“Take your hands of me, ”
I said to him
and didn’t have
to say anything more
and he stepped away,
closed his eyes
and prayed for me
and then dismissed me.

A new Life
The pain and the agony
the sufering and the shame.
The hard times, and the bad times.
foolishness on my part,
and anger tore away my soul
faster than death.
Then I realized it did not matter,
none of that stuff,
guys, hurt, anger, and bitterness.
and most of all hate.
Jesus taught me to love and
care, be kind, and genourus,
happy, and free.
I feel relief and
happiness, joy and peace.
Thank you Jesus for my health,
and for everyday that you
give me.

Am I Less Patriotic
Am I less patriotic,
If I choose not to embrace...
Conservative values,
With a more broadened view...
That may be idealistic,
With equality issues I pursue.
Am I less patriotic,
If those who are hypocrites annoy?
The ones with their self righteous political opinions.
Those who influence lawmakers to consider and employ.
Am I less patriotic,
If I am bothered by illegitimate conflicts.
Those that depict one class of people,
As being worthy to indulge...
In the feeding done of their own interests.
Am I less patriotic,
If I wish hunger and homelessness...
From all made to suffer from this,
Was erased from them and did not exist?
Am I less patriotic,
If I chose to express my feelings about it?
And am I less patriotic...
If I refuse to inflict upon another pain,
With a taking away from them...
To benefit my own selfish claims to gain.
Am I less patriotic,
If my ambitions are to sustain and maintain...
A peaceful co-existence,
Between those who have chosen to benefit...
Appreciating their lives as they wish.
Without being oppressed by those who infest...
With a manifestation to control with a beholding?
Taking away from others as if...
They were entitled to do this!
Am I less patriotic?
Or am I just another delusioned human being?
Wishing all differences,
Were accepted or not demeaned to maim.
Or disrespected to be considered obscene.

Best foot forward for M 'lady Wennie
Each road you take comes to a fork
and both new paths look much the same
To left, to right which one to walk.
Which of the two will win the game.
Unless you’re blessed with second sight
you will not know which path to choose.
An even chance you’ll get it right.
You must decide you can’t refuse.
You find it harder to decide
each time you’re forced to make a choice.
Perhaps the fates are on your side
and you will find cause to rejoice.
This is the only game in town
and everybody has to play.
Some will go up and some go down.
Along life’s path they make their way.
Don’t be afraid to walk alone
and choose the less well trodden path.
Your future must remain unknown
so step out bravely come what may.

Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues
(coverdale/marsden)
I love the blues,
They tell my story,
If you dont feel it you can never understand
So many times I thought about it
And now I know just what it means to be a man
Everyday I realize you can see it in my eyes
I never wait, or hesitate.
cos I love the life I live,
Im gonna live the life I choose,
You gotta understand
Im walking in the shadow of the blues
All of my life Ive had a strange reputation,
Ive been the black sheep of the family all along
I never know if in my heart Im really guilty
But, Ive been accused of never knowing right from wrong
Everyday I realize you can see it in my eyes
I never wait, or hesitate.
cos I love the life I live,
Im gonna live the life I choose,
You gotta understand
Im walking in the shadow of the blues
My father said youre crazy,
He said what you gonna do?
I left with my guitar and said
Ill leave it up to you
Im gonna live the life I love
And live the life I choose,
And Im walking in the shadow of the blues
I love the blues,
They tell my story,
If you dont feel it I will tell you once again
All of my life Ive been caught up in a crossfire,
cos Ive been branded with the devil mark of cain
Everyday I realize you can see it in my eyes
I never wait, or hesitate.
cos I love the life I live,
Im gonna live the life I choose,
You gotta understand
Im walking in the shadow of the blues,
Im walking in the shadow of the blues

What Is There To Understand About Love
What is there to understand,
About love.
What is there to understand,
About being without it.
And spending those nights alone,
Distrusting that 'right' one...
That goes away.
Distrusting that one sleepless night,
When someone loved...
Comes home late,
Without argument to defend.
Or passion to share,
After a fight that begins.
And excuses heard familiar...
Aren't there heard to make.
What is there to understand,
About love...
When none is there to make.
What is there 'then'...
To understand.
No one dreams about the absence of love.
Or who in those dreams are missed...
To share the magic of happiness wished.
As those suspicions take over...
Becoming one's relationship!
What is there to understand.
No one seems to have those dreams,
About someone wrong for them.
Someone who up and goes when they choose...
To return when they please.
To introduce agony inside of one,
That seems to stay...
Not to leave.
What is there to understand,
About love.
The pain that is gained that seems to remain,
To change that love that is no longer the same.
What is there to understand,
About love.
What is there to understand,
About being without it.
And spending those nights alone,
Distrusting that 'right' one...
That goes away.
Distrusting that one sleepless night,
When someone loved...
Comes home late,
Without argument to defend.
Or passion to share,
After a fight...
That had began.
Ending a quarrel to be forgotten...
As love made mends!
What is there to understand,
About love...
That ends.
What is there 'then',
To understand.

Once It Has Been Achieved
There is something to be said,
About being in the company...
Of both children and pets.
There is an honesty untainted,
That children are quick to expose.
And pets,
Like dogs and cats...
Express a loyalty,
No one has to guess...
To whom that affection is directed.
There is something to be said,
About expectations of relationships.
Declaring to settle down with a mate,
Usually involves,
One having patience...
With 'something' that will irritate.
There is also something to be said,
About choosing to be alone...
In one's own peaceful solitude!
One isn't obligated to adjust for another's mood.
Or prove without a question of a doubt,
Where they have been...
When a decision has been made,
To do what one pleases when one goes out!
And one can choose to leave those conflicts visited...
To return to an atmosphere with an opening of a door.
With the use of a key,
To lock out the 'noise' to deeply breathe.
And sighing with relief...
That a peace that is received,
Can be found inside to safely keep!
THAT is all that needs to be said,
When one has discovered...
A peace of mind,
One is grateful and blessed...
To have in one's head!
And a delivery of THAT is a fact one dares,
Or cares to share...
Once it has been achieved!
Believe me.
There are no exaggerations,
With embellishments involved.
THAT is all that needs to be said,
When one has discovered...
A peace of mind,
One is grateful and blessed...
To have in one's head!
Believe me.

Now Amongst Us
What will they do,
With beliefs no longer relevant?
What thoughts will they think...
When they had few from the start.
Concepts of realities are going to change,
So quick!
What was relied upon to defend...
Is ending a falsity 'asumed' as legitimate!
With aliens crossing borders,
And landing in backyards...
People aren't prepared for these events,
Descending and coming down upon them hard!
Too many folks are seeing UFO's...
As common as lies to them are told!
And how we all arrived on this planet...
Is about to change historic episodes,
And many will be lost to comprehend...
Left crazed in a daze to understand it!
What will they do,
With beliefs no longer relevant?
What thoughts will they think...
When they had few from the start.
Concepts of realities are going to change,
So quick!
Many will be traumatized...
To learn we are powerless,
Against those of advanced minds...
Now amongst us that have arrived to visit!

I Refuse
Everythings heaven sent
Thats what you said and went
Inside your fairy glass
Somethin you think will last
And when they crop you like a clown
You got your smile on upside down
B-baby I refuse
(I do refuse)
Uh, you can pick or choose
(I do refuse)
Find omebody else to use
(I do refuse)
cause I refuse to come along
And everythings on a whim
Thats what you said to him
Lyin in wunderlust
Are feelings you never trust
And when they pamper you with ice
I cant believe you dont think twice
Uh baby I refuse
(I do refuse)
Uh, you can pick or choose
(I do refuse)
Find somebody else to use
(I do refuse)
cause I refuse to come along
And everyone makes the play
With nothing left much to say
Theyre all in an endless line
Waiting for equal time
They keep screaming its the truth
And you keep kneelin in the booth
Oh baby I refuse
(I do refuse)
Uh, you can pick or choose
(I do refuse)
Find somebody else to use
(I do refuse)
cause I refuse to come along
Oh, I do refuse
(I do refuse)
Oh, you got nothin to lose
(I do refuse)
Find somebody else to use
(find somebody else to use)
(I do refuse)
cause I refuse to come along
I refuse
(I do refuse)
Ah, oo-oo
(I do refuse)
(find somebody else to use)
(I do refuse)
cause I refuse to come along
I refuse
(I do refuse)
Oo, oh got nothin to lose
(I do refuse)
(find somebody else to use)
(I do refuse)

Decide You Will Lead
You can choose to remove confusion.
You can also refuse to accept to lose...
With a bit of hope used and faith proven.
Anything done to do to prove to oneself...
Is possible to touch and see happen.
You can choose to remove confusion,
And a doubting mood that comes to bother you...
To restrict with a bitter attitude,
To stay fixed in a temperment...
Leaving you to pout in solitude.
Anything is possible.
Even having the patience to wait to see grass grow.
Anything is possible.
If you do not try,
How will you know?
Take a stand,
And command...
With a decision to lead.
And you can.
You can.
Take a stand,
And command...
With a decision to lead.
And you can.
You can.
Anything is possible,
Decide you will lead.
And you can.
You can.
Anything is possible,
Decide you will lead.
And you can.
You can.
Take a stand,
And command...
You'll take the lead.
And you can.
You can.

Quick Am I To Return a 'Tude
Quick am I to return a 'tude'.
I am not a good receiver,
Of moods dumped on me.
With expectations...
I should understand,
Someone's funky attitiude!
I don't.
I did not major in psychology.
Or empathy overflow...
To have my emotions abused.
Quick am I to return a 'tude'.
I am not a good receiver,
Of moods dumped on me.
With expectations...
I should understand,
Someone's funky attitude.
I have my own issues.
And a doing it alone to correct them.
Has helped me process my weaknesses.
And I don't accept anyone telling me...
'You are strong and more experienced.'
I may be both.
But...
I am not a collector of insecurities.
Nor am I one to understand,
A delivery of another's disrespect.
Shown to me or anyone else addressed.
A maturity I may express...
Was not to me hand delivered.

The Love Sonnets Of Proteus. Part III: Gods And False Gods: LXVIII
THE SAME CONTINUED
Again Love left you. With appealing eyes
You watched him go, and lips apart to speak.
He left you, and once more the sun did rise
And the sun set, and week trod close on week
And month on month, till you had reached the goal
Of forty years, and life's full waters grew
To bitterness and flooded all your soul,
Making you loathe old things and pine for new.
And you into the wilderness had fled,
And in your desolation loud did cry,
``Oh for a hand to turn these stones to bread!''
Then in your ear Love whispered scornfully,
``Thou too, poor fool, thou, even thou,'' he said,
``Shalt taste thy little honey ere thou die.''

This Must Be Love
It must be love, Im feeling
This must be love
Oh this must be love, Im feeling
This must be love
Well I wait in every day, just in case,
You decide to call
And I can hardly wait, cos I never thought time could pass so slowly
It must be love, Im feeling
This must be love
Oh this must be love, Im feeling
This must be love
Happiness is something I never thought Id feel again, but now I know
Its you that Ive been looking for
And day by day more and more
I know what you think, youve heard it before
Dont tell me I know
But this feeling inside my heart,
You know Im never letting go
cos I think that...
It must be love, Im feeling
This must be love
Oh this must be love, Im feeling
This must be love
Words can only say so much
Its hard to express
The things you do to me
Youre everything I could ever dreamed youd be
This must be love, Im feeling
This must be love
Oh this must be love, Im feeling
This must be love...
