That's How We Met!

I once met a woman from Nantucket.
Who wanted me to add fluid in her bucket...

'GRANDPA? ? ? '

You asked me to recite a poem!
You kids don't know what you want.

'Yeah,
But grandpa...
Comeon.
You've got to have more on your mind,
Besides sex! '

SEX?
You kids are sumthin' else!
Who in the hell's talking about sex?
That woman just happens to have been your grandmother.
She sucked some gasoline out of my car,
To get her own started.
Using a hose.
I had never seen that before.
That's how we met!
And sex was the furthest thing from our minds.

'Oh yeah?
Well...
How did my mother get here? '

On a TRAIN!
How many times do I have to tell you that! ?

Get back!
Get back I say!
Get back.
How dare you sneak up on me like this?

Get back!
Get back I say!
Get back.
How dare you?
How dare you?
How dare you?
Get back!

'Grandpa? '

And will you stop calling me that!
I do not have children.
OR grandchildren.
And IF I did...
They will show me much more respect,
Than you have.
GRANDPA?
'God, thatnk You for saving me,
From a lifetime spent in prison.'

'You funny as hell,
Gramps.
Got you a little sumthin sumthin.'

How dare you come in here with that?

'Grandpa?
I thought you were cool with it?
You're the one who said you had no problem.
Age aint nuthin but a number.
ESPECIALLY when that store clerk,
Thought you were 59.
And you know I'm teasing you.
Why so serious?
Feeling a little...
OLD? '

No!
Yeah...
NAW!
No!
Yeah...
A little.

'Can't make up your own mind!
I hope like hell that doesn't happen to me! '

And don't be coming in disturbing me,
With that filthy mouth!
But...
But.
But...
Why did it have to creep upon me so soon?
I wasn't paying attention.
I consented to 62!
And that was cool with me.
But 63 is gon' be wild!
I can tell that already!

'You'll be fine.
You should feel blessed.
Look?
So many folks can not say they will be 63!
SIXTY THREE years old.
What a blessing! '

Yeah, right!
So many folks ain't here to say nuthin'.

I guess you're right.
But all those candles on that cake,
Heat the whole room!
Why you do this to me?
Why?

Get back!
Get back I say!
Get back.
How dare you sneak up on me like this?

'Oh...
He's acting now!
Let me say this to you.
Sssshhh...
He's loving the attention!
However...
Before?
Before this surprise,
He was quite serious!
He 'still' thinks he's in...
In his 40's.'

LIES!
Pure BS!
That's all that is.
Don't pay that no mind t'all!
I most certainly do not!

And who is this you talking to?
They don't need to know my business!
And who invited them in here to snoop,
In the first place?
Ya'll don't need to hear this.
Now scoot!

'Scoot?
Where's the scaddle?
LOL
Yeah...you're getting...
Uh...you up there! '

Kids

Kids - kids, Christmas i-is for kids
Look around and you will see
Kids from one to ninety-three
Laughin', lovin' life and bein' kids
Kids - ki-i-i-ids, Christmas i-is for kids
Kids like you and little brother
Aunts and uncles, dads and mothers
Grandma, grandpa an' all the other kids
Daddy runs the 'lectric train
While all the children wait in vain
To take their turn
At playin' engineer
Grandpa catches grandma's cheek
And all the family sneaks a peak
And suddenly
Their wrinkles disappear
Take a look at Betty Joe
Underneath the mistletoe
Pretending that
She doesn't know it's there
And in the front yard Uncle Mike
Just fell off brother's brand new bike
There's Christmas cheer
And laughter everywhere
Kids (kids) - ki-i-i-ids (kids)
Christmas i-is for kids
Christmas time is here again
And now it's when the fun begins
This time of year we all turn into kids...

I'm My Own Grandpa

It was many many years ago when I was twenty-three,
I was married to a widow, she's as pretty as can be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter who had hair of red,
my father fell in lover with her, and soon these two were wed.

I'm my own grandpa, I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds silly, I know, but it really is so, oh
I'm my own grandpa.

This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life:
My daughter was my mother 'cause she was my father's wife.
And then to complicate the matter, though it brought me joy,
I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy.

This bouncing baby then became a brother-in-law to dad,
and so became my uncle, though it made me very sad,
for if he was my uncle then he also was the brother
of the widow's grown-up daughter, who, of course, was my step-mother.

I'm my own grandpa, I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds silly, I know, but it really is so, oh
I'm my own grandpa.

Father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son.
My wife is now my mother's mother, and it makes me blue,
because although she is my wife, she's my grandmother, too.

Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild.
For now I have become the strangest case you ever saw.
Husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa.

I'm my own grandpa, I'm my own grandpa.
It sounds silly, I know, but it really is so, oh
I'm my own grandpa.

If I Was Your Woman / Walk On By

(Talking) Hey Yo, Mo B, Drop it on me.
Yeah, yeah let's do it like this
If I was your woman
And you were my man
You'd have no other woman
You'd be weak as a lamb.
If you had the strength.
To walk out my door.
My love would overrule my sins.
And I'd call you back for more.
If I was your woman
If I was your woman
And you were my man, yeahhh
She tears you down darling
Says you're nothing at all
But I'll pick you up darling
When she lets you fall
Cause, You're like a diamond
But she treats you like glass
Yet you begged her to love you
For me you won't ask
If I was your woman
If I was your woman
If I was your woman
Here's what I'd do
I'd never, never, no, no, stop lovin you.
Yeahhhhhhh, Yeah, mmm hmm
Life is so crazy
And love is unkind
Because she was first darling
Will she hang on your mind?
You're part of me
But you don't even know it
I'm what you need
But I'm too afraid to show it
If I was your woman
If I was your woman
If I was your woman
Here's what I'd do
I'd never, never, no, no, stop lovin you
If I was your woman
Here's what I'd do
I'd never, never, never stop lovin you.
Uh,yeah, yeah,yea,yea,yea,yeah
(background)
If I was your woman (echo)
If I was your woman (echo)
If I was your woman (echo)
If I was your woman (echo)
If I was your woman (echo fades)

Scent Of A Woman

Now woman...scent of a woman
a man don't add up to much, next to a woman
a man can't ever forget the taste of a woman
a man is half the test, a man is half the best
a man can't understand the reasons why
a man's just a day in the life of a woman
just a few mintues a night to a woman
see what a woman can do
to the man inside of you
it's more than the sum of the sun and the moon
well a man is a man is a hell of a man
a man ain't a man in a one night stand
a man just don't stack up next to a woman
a man can't see what a woman can do
a man is no man hiding next to you
a man don't add up to much next to a woman
oohhh...the scent of a woman
the world would never be, except for a woman
it's hard for a man to see what makes a woman
even harder to impress, cause she expects the best
she never makes it easy to pass the test
well a man is a man is a hell of a man
a man ain't a man in a one night stand
a man just won't stack up next to a woman
a man can't do what a woman can do
a man is not a man lying next to you
and man will just give up next to a woman
oh yeah....here she comes now (here she comes now, she comes now, here she comes now)
here she comes now (here she comes now, she comes now, here she comes now)
well a man is a man is a hell of a man
a man ain't a man in a one night stand
a man just won't stack up next to a woman
a man can't do what a woman can do
a man is a man if he can get to you
all a man wants to do is get to a woman, yeah
yeah yeah x 16
yeah...the scent of a woman

In the Midst of My Research

Sex sex sex sex!
That's all you filthy kids,
Consume yourselves with these days.
You should be seeking redemption,
For your tainted lost souls.

'Grandpa...
These are not my magazines.
Mom said she found them,
While vacuuming under your bed.
Do you want them?
Or should they be thrown away? '

Listen!
And closely.
Tell your mother,
I am in the midst of my research.
If she and your father,
Aren't going to keep up to date with you kids...
Who else will ensure you are aware of these ills?
Santa Claus?

No!
Don't throw them away.
I'm very close to preparing my talk with you.
Hand them to me.

'When is that going to be, grandpa? '

Neveryoumind...
Just hand them over.
I'll discuss this with your folks, first.
To co-ordinate our schedules.
You go outside and play with your friends.
And before you do...
Make sure you tell your mother of my plans.
I'm sure she had no clue of my concerns.

Grandpa Told Me So

(mark alan springer/james dean hicks)
If you dont get in the water youre never gonna learn to swim
He said a snake is just as scared of you as you are of him
He could tell by the moon when the fish would bite
Seems there was nothing that he didnt know
And as a kid I believed cause grandpa told me so
He talked daddy into letting me have my first car
I thought I was really something til becky thompson broke my heart
That first taste of love really did me in
Getting over her slow
And I knew someday I would cause grandpa told me so
He said life is made for you to live
The best love is the love that you give
Therell be times when you wanna hold on but you gotta let go
And I live by those words cause grandpa told me so
I promised him I wouldnt cry when it was his time to leave
Thats the only promise I made him I couldnt keep
He smiled from his bed and said well meet again
Somewhere down the road
And I believe cause grandpa told me so
He said life is made for you to live
The best love is the love that you give
Therell be times when you wanna hold on but you gotta let go
And I live by those words cause grandpa told me so
He said life is made for you to live
The best love is the love that you give
Therell be times when you wanna hold on but you gotta let go
And I live by those words cause grandpa told me so
Yeah and I still believe
Grandpa told me so
Grandpa told me so
I still believe
Grandpa told me so
I still believe...

I Wish I Could

I wish I could tell you I love you
I wish I could take back those times I did not
But I can't and I never can
I wish I could take back those times that I was mean
That I had an attitude
But I can't and I never can
I realized to late what you mean to me
Grandpa I love you
Grandpa I miss you….I'm sorry for my tears

You saved me from the orphanage where you were forced to go
You saved my baby brother's life but I never said thank you
Grandpa I love you
Grandpa I miss you…..I'm sorry for my tears

I can never again hug you
I can only see your smile in your pictures
I can never ask about the wars you fought in
I can never hear your stories again
Grandpa I love you
Grandpa I miss you…….I'm sorry for my tears
I wish I could tell you I love you
But I can never do it again

Look At Granny Run Run

Look at granny run, run, and grandpa runnin close behind.
Look at granny run, run, theres something on grand-daddys mind.
He went to the doctor, got a brand new pill.
The doctor said, son, you aint over the hill.
Now he cant sit still.
Great, gosh, almighty, wont you ...
Look at granny go, go, faster than a greyhound bus.
Look at granny go, go, now grandpa gettin serious.
But he woke up in the middle of the night.
Said, lookie here baby, everythings alright.
It was such a fright.
Great, gosh, almighty, wont you ...
Look at granny run, run ...
Look at granny run, run, and grandpa gettin closer now.
No matter how she run, run, he gonna catch her anyhow.
He said, mama, quit your caryin on.
All I wants a little love before I am gone.
Aint nothin wrong.
Great, gosh, almighty, wont you ...
Look at granny run, run.
Look at granny run, run.
Yeah ...
Look at granny run, run.
Yeah ...
Look at granny run, run.
Yeah ...
Look at granny run, run.

H.T.H.D.T.G.T.

Yeah
Yeah
Baby, baby, come on keep it up
I found myself at the drugstore,
Baby rapping with my funky friends
Shed tears of joy for a soul of sadness, ah ah
My mind was made up now baby
But my mouth kept talking
What the hell am I gonna do,
Gonna do
I said how the hell did they get there, baby
How the hell did they get there, baby
I met this thing called Carrie
She kinda smoked those long French cigarettes (know what I mean boys)
She tried to get me upset
By saying silly little things
My mind was made up now baby
But my mouth kept talking
The hell am I gonna do,
Gonna do
I said how the hell did they get there, baby
How the hell did they get there, baby
How the hell did they
I say how the hell did they
How the hell did they get there, baby
Come on, keep it up
Um, No matter hard I try, try, try, try
Yes, I was Marti, Marti, Marti, Marti, Marti, Marti, Marti
Try a little tenderness,
Come on try, A little tenderness
Same thing
Makes you do wrong
Makes you do right, yeah, yeah, baby baby,
Come on Gimme some groove thing
Groove thing
Horns, horns
Oh try tender, ah oh
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Mind was made up now baby
But my mouth kept talking
What the hell am I gonna do,
Gonna do
I said how the hell did they get there, baby
How the hell did they get there, baby
The hell did they
I said how the hell did they
How the hell did they get there, baby
Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Get there baby,
Baby, baby
Gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Get there baby,
Baby, baby, yeah
How the hell did they
I said how the hell did they,
I said how the hell did they,
Get there baby

Producer for bonnie: hugh murphy
**Im just a woman
You are the only man
I need you always
You need me now and then
Im just a woman
You are the only man
Im just your puppet
You make me dance and sing
You know I love it
Letting you pull my string
Im just a woman
You are the only man
*and I know if you choose
Yon can throw me away
Like some old shoe
But as long as youre there
From the bottom or my heart
I dont care
I m just the lover
You want along the way
I try to do it
But you always start to play
Im just a woman
You are the only man
*repeat
Im just a woman, ooh
Im just a woman, ooh
And there are times you really show
What s in your heart and then I know
No matter what yon do I cant let go
Of any part of your love

Middle Class, White Collar, Livin’ in the Suburb Blues (LYRICS)

Well, I get up in the morning and my shower’s sometimes cold.
Yeah, I get up in the morning and my shower’s sometimes cold,
And my fuzzy, soft, warm slippers and my bathrobe’s getting old.

You know my woman didn’t leave me and my dog don’t run away.
No, my woman didn’t leave me and my dog don’t run away,
But when I go to the ‘frigerater, sometimes she gets in the way.

Sometimes my kids they watch the Simpsons, when I want to watch the news.
Yeah, my kids they watch the Simpsons, when I want to watch the news.
I got the middle class, white collar, livin’ in the suburb blues.

Well, I went up to the boss man and I asked him for a raise.
Yeah, I went up to the boss man and I asked him for a raise.
He added to my 401 K plan and gave me more paid holidays.

Ain’t got time to change my oil now, ‘cus I’m such a busy man.
Got no time to change my oil now, ‘cus I’m such a busy man,
and my Volvo’s in the shop now, got to drive the mini-van.

I’ve got to take the kids to soccer, yeah, I paid my soccer dues.
Got to take the kids to soccer, oh, I paid my soccer dues.
I got the middle class, white collar, livin’ in the suburb blues.

A Tub of Potatoes

My grandmother used to say
don't marry for money
but stay open-minded.

She could squeeze a nickel
and make the buffalo feel light-headed;
she could make a dollar out of 15 cent.

Now she was a big woman;
ruled the family roost
with a simple look
and an iron skillet.

Many times I heard that skillet
go thunk!
Another suitor educated.
Another boyfriend righted.

She always took us kids aside
and whispered things like
'now see that'
I don't want you kids to grow up
and do things like that.'

There was the woman or man who did not
take care of the family;
the Boyfriend Rogue;
or the Gallivant,
who tipped behind his ladies back;
the dandy who dressed so well
but did not have two dimes to rub together
and slept in the park in a tent.

These were depression days
when traveling men
rode the rails
not sure of where they came from
not sure of where they went
and the women who
longed for them;
who waited
for them
listening
for train whistles
and stock yard
freights
hauling
into Chicago
from the mid-west.

Grandmother
would sit
above a tub of water
peeling potatoes
like the layers of her life
each skin
would fall into the tub
of water
and go plop;
another chapter in Grandmother's life
told to us kids
sitting
wide-eyed.
'Time was' she would say
that this was a woman and man's country
now everything gone to hell.'
They danced in the gin joints
til then the money ran out
and the party was over
and the big depression gave them all
a big headache.
Party she said but dig down deep because
there will be a piper to pay.
Plop. Plop
Time was.
Time is.

Miss Thing

She knew she was all that
Couldn’t anybody tell her anything?
She wore clothes that were chic
Look like a million bucks.

She was like ice,
When she walked in the room everybody froze
Other women were jealous, but who’s to blame
Every man wanted her name
She would tell them “Miss Thing”

Everybody wanted her, but she wasn’t for sale
She wore diamonds on each hand
She had a name for herself
A woman who don’t need a man
She has beautiful self-esteem

Little kids want to be like her
She would tell them

Be yourself, don’t be ashame of who you are
It don’t matter what other think of you
Keep your head up and they will follow you
Don’t try to be me, try to be better
The kids asked for her name
She would tell them “Miss Thing”

Everybody knew she was going places
But she already knew that
She demanded respect from everyone
Some people would try to give her advice
But she would walk away without listening

She tell them I’m a woman not a child
You give a child advice about themselves
Don’t tell me about how to be me
I’m a grown woman with a lot of dreams.

She would finally her comment with
Just in case you want my name
Everybody call me “MISS THING”

No More Living Dead, Zombie Kids

What do you think you are doing
to these kids?
Please stop destroying these kids' minds!
Are you that cold-hearted?
Don't you care?
Maybe you don't. But I do.
Don't you remember back when
you had feelings
for your wife, girlfriend,
husband, boyfriend,
mother, father,
grandma, grandpa,
or brother or sister, or friend?
So please let these kids
live a normal life
instead of being the living dead zombies.
Let the boys be boys
Let the girls be girls.
Let them show feelings,
show emotions, show love.
I want to hear their laughter,
hear them chatter kids talk.
I want to see them play,
run, learn, just having fun.
Let these kids live and grow
a normal life.
They could be the future mother,
future father,
future husband, wife,
future author, writer or a poet,
future president,
future owner of a company,
future farmer, future teacher, etc....
But they can't
if you keep on feeding them
with these killer drugs.
Please for once listen to somebody
even me.
You know who I'm talking to...
it's you the one who sells
and manufactures
cocaine, crank, LSD, marijuana,
acid, etc....
Maybe it's too late for you
to live a normal life
But don't let it
be too late for the kids
if you really care.
Please no more living dead,
zombie kids.

Here's what I'd do....
I'd never, never, no, no stop loving you
Yeah (yeah)
Um oooh
Life is so crazy
And love is unkind
Because she was first, darling
will she hang on your mind
You're a part of me but you don't even know it
I'm what you need but I'm too afriad to show it.
If I were your woman
If I were your woman
If I were your woman
Here's what I'd do.....
I'd never, never, no, no stop loving you.
If I were your woman
Here's what I'd do....
I'd never, never, never stop loving you
If i were your woman,
if i were your woman,
if i were your woman,
if i were your woman,
if i were your woman.

Train

Plastic brain scar
I want laser
I'm your chauffeur
With high gloss highs
Take you where you want
Can't stop, oh off the train
Train, yeah, yeah, yeah
Wolflady
Sucks my brain
Apricot
Sunrise came
L.A. nights
Just roll in
Can't stop, oh off the train
Train, yeah, yeah, yeah
Nasal douche
Poolside line
Softlit tan
What's your sign?
Hold my hand
Just roll in
Can't stop, oh off the train
Train, yeah, yeah, yeah
Can't stop, oh off the train
Train, yeah, yeah, yeah
Can't stop, oh off the train
Train, yeah, yeah, yeah

I Got A Woman

Well i got a woman
Way across town,
She's good to me,
Ohoh yeah.
Say i got a woman
Way across town,
She's good to me.
Oh yeah.
She gives me money
Everytime i need, yes.
You know she's the kind
Of friend indeed.
Say i got a woman
Way across town,
She's good to me
Oh yeah.
She says she loves me
Early in the morning,
Just for me.
Oh yeah.
She says she loves me
Early in the morning
Just for me,
Oh yeah.
She says she loves me
Just for me, yeah.
You know she loves me,
Sometime i leave.
I got a woman
Way across town,
She's good to me,
Oh yeah. auwww.
She says she loves me
All day and night
Never grumbles or fusses,
She just treats me right.
Never running in the streets,
Leaving me alone.
She's knows a woman's place
Right back there hanging by the home.
Well i got a woman
Way across town
She's good to me,
Oh yeah.
Well i've got a woman,
Way across town,
She's good to me,
Oh yeah.
Well she's my baby
'cos she's understands
I'm her loving man.
I got a woman
Way across town,
She's good to me
Oh yeah.
Says she's all right,
Says she's all right.
I got a woman
Way across town,
She's good to me
Oh yeah.
