On Top of Earth I Will Stroll
I wish someone would stop me,
And ask me why I peacock.
As if I am not suppose to flaunt,
My pride and dignity.
Only those threatened by arrogance,
Should evaluated the keeping...
Of their own insecurities.
Instead of proclaiming to be,
One who is down to Earth.
If I am not beneath it yet,
On top of Earth I will stroll.
With a flaunting done,
Undaunted.
No time do I spend,
Competing to defend...
Or understanding weaknesses,
I have taken time from myself to rid.
I've learned how to stroll,
And be bold with the doing.
Arrogance?
I don't take time to define the doing of it.
Or do I attempt to comprehend,
Why people spend most of their lives...
With their noses in the business of others.

Words From A Husband To A Wife (Envelope Couplet Sestets)
Spend your time with me until the night end
as we attend a party at the house of a friend
smile and talk to me as if I am someone else
laugh merrily at the jokes our host tells,
while you dance with me where the stairs bend,
spend your time with me until the night end.
Spend your time with me until the night end
smile coyly while a drink I recommend,
treat me like a stranger you have just met
while our eyes are just on each other set,
let your glance shy before mind descend,
spend your time with me until the night end.
Spend your time with me until the night end
even if our friends do not really comprehend
why we are different from our old stances
why we are romancing in all our glances
while like some strangers we together blend,
spend your time with me until the night end.
Spend your time with me until the night end
as if life on a moment do depend
while you act just like a brand new lover,
as if our feelings we did rediscover,
as if we met only on a godsend,
spend your time with me until the night end.
Spend your time with me until the night end,
friendly greet the old smiling reverend
while we proudly walk past to our dinner
as if we are just two love-struck sinners,
while our unfamiliarity we do pretend,
spend your time with me until the night end.

Lost to Connect a Thought
The more I understand...
The less time I spend around those,
Who do not comprehend.
I've become very impatient.
And at times feeling isolated.
I witness more and more people,
Pretending to be aware.
And these folks are the first to declare...
They have no clue,
As to what is going on!
And somehow...
Immediately I know exactly why!
The more I understand...
The less time I spend around those,
Who do not comprehend.
I've become very impatient.
Especially around those who dress to impress.
And these folks are lost to connect a thought!
I begin to feel guilty.
As if I have a reason...
To be and feel just as self centered.
Objectively self obsessed.
But unable to express it!
Or flaunt it like the rest.
What's wrong with me?
Why am I reluctant...
To bear my resumé on my sleeve,
And sip cocktails?
To bore in such confessing conversations.
Is it the fear of being believed?
Or is it...
That I'd rather spend my time,
In the production of deeds?
To complete and do to get done.
'I think it's...'
Ssshhh...
I'm not asking.
That's just a method I use,
To motivate my own self importance.
It works all the time!
Trust me.

Of That Which Has Created The Earth
Everything has an order.
Everything has a discipline.
When those believe,
They can disrupt an order...
That has strict discipline,
To attempt to impose their wishes...
As if this skips the attention,
Of that which has created the Earth...
They from birth have leeched upon.
And they...
Created by it from within,
A Supreme Inyelligence?
THAT is the ultimate ungratefulness.
THAT is the ultimate display of arrogance.
And 'that' arrogance ultimately ends,
As is to be witnessed.
Without a weapon used that could possibly defend.

I Want
Don't want to spend my time, wishing you were here
Don't want to spend my time alone
Don't want to waste my life, dwelling on the past
Don't want to lock myself at home
'Cause I want, I need, nothing less than you
I want nothing else at all
Don't want to make excuses
Explaining it away
Just want to spend my time with you
Don't want to walk on ice
Don't want to live on edge
'Cause on the edge
I'm looking down
I want more, I want more
Don't want to spend my time
Wishing you were here
Don't want to spend my time alone

If I Could Transcend Time
If I could transcend time
This would be the time I would choose
To spend every minute with you
This now would be our time
But each day we grow older
The inevitable grows closer and closer
The lines become clearer
And you become dearer
To this time in my mind
I will always come
When the day is long
And when the night is young
I will come back here time and time again
To spend the time with you
The time is now
The time I spend with you

Don't Let My Confidence Offend
Please,
Don't let my confidence offend.
I did not always place my steps,
With such self assurance.
And when I first met my own arrogance,
Even I became overwhelmed...
With the flaunting of it.
My experiences and indifferences from others,
Witnessed.
Did this to me.
And when I discovered my own identity,
Well...
People were quick to abandon my honesty.
And so difficult it was for me to let them go.
Please,
Don't let my confidence offend.
I did not always place my steps,
With such self assurance.
And when I first met my own arrogance,
Even I became overwhelmed...
With the flaunting of it.
However...
Becoming use to it I've done.
You don't have to.
And this I completely understand if you don't.
But compensating where I am for you?
To show it can be done at your satisfaction?
Is not going to happen. Period. With no explanation!

Arrogance Of Man
arrogance of man is a defect
what you see is what you get
they say pride comes before the fall
some can not see this at all
pride in accomplishments
pride in family
pride in self
are all good atributes
unless others are treated inferior
never looking beyond their exterior
we are all equal under gods eyes
and we all will one day die
be kind to one another
and not let arrogance
cause decay
it was never meant to be that way

Convalescence
Underneath a tree I lie,
Watching with lack lustre eye,
All those little trivial things
Weakness after sickness brings;
Watching birds flit to and fro;
Watching how the grasses grow;
Watching how the leaves and trees
Blend in Autumn harmonies
And wise insects, taught by God,
Build their shelters in the sod.
Oh, how low the pride of men
Falls and grovels meekly, when
Convalescence comes at last
After long borne sufferings past,
E'en the arrogance of pain
That strange vanity - is vain
And he lies, a stricken thing,
Bereft of even suffering.
All is gone - the pain, the pride;
Arrogance is laid aside.
And he owes all things he'd do
To some worthier being, who,
Out of charity, shall seek
To assist the helpless weak
Out of charity to lend
Splendid strength he is to spend.
So beneath the tree I lie,
Reading with a languid eye
Views of that and views of this
In a world so long amiss,
And, by some strange alchemy,
Suddenly it seems to me
That, as Earth's wild turmoils cease,
Comes convalescence now and peace.

Through An Osmosisness
Unconscious assimilation,
To seduce one into conversation?
Perhaps.
But there are some with realities,
Who are distorted by facts.
And few comprehend that,
When they allow...
The comfort of their delusions,
To sit back and relax.
I have earned the right to express my identity,
With much flair if I dared.
From dawn 'til noon until midnight.
And doing it aware that I have not a care.
And if anyone expresses I do this and declare,
My arrogance to be unbearable.
And a dignity I pride...
Begins to choke with a coolness I carry.
As if I owned the air!
So be it!
If I flaunt a bit of obnoxiousness.
I've earned all of it.
The identity I pride with the dignity I don't hide.
I am not here to defend every step I've taken.
Nor those experiences life to me has personally given.
'Oh!
I can understand how you feel! '
Is that right?
What part of my life have you lived that delights?
And what hour of which day...
Have you said to yourself,
'Ignore what others say.
Keep your faith it will be okay! '
'Well...
I don't have to go through that process,
To understand what others go through! '
Hmmm.
I see.
So you're one of those folks who live vicariously?
Through an osmosisness done.
And challenging all obstacles that come?
'Well...
I don't have to go through that process,
To understand what others go through! '
Hmmm.
I see.
So you're one of those folks who live vicariously?
Through an osmosisness done.
And challenging all obstacles that come?
'Well,
I don't have to...
Forget it.'
That just expressed,
I can understand and accept.
As from you confessed.
There is no need to further address,
Your comprehension to suggest.

Time And How To Spend It
LONG AGO AND FAR AWAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF SPACE
THERE WAS NO CLOCK, THERE WAS NO TIME, NOR ANY MAN TO COUNT IT
THEN FROM THE VOID, DARK REACH OF SPACE, A WONDROUS GLOBE APPEARED
BUT STILL NO CLOCK, STILL NO TIME, AND STILL NO MAN TO COUNT IT
AND THEN FROM GOD, EARTH AND CLAY, CAME MAN AND TIME-BOTH FLEETING
THEN DAY AND NIGHT, DARK AND LIGHT, DIVIDED BY SUN'S GREETING AND CAME THE NEED TO KEEP THE TIME, OF WHICH THERE SEEMS NO ENDING
AND SOME GREAT SAGE WITH DOUR WORD IS NOW A MESSAGE SENDING
HASTEN QUICKLY, LOSE NO TIME, THE END OF TIME IS PENDING
NOW YESTERDAYS ARE LONG AGO AND TOMORROW MAY NOT COME
SO TAKE EACH MOMENT AS A GIFT-FROM SUN TO SETTING SUN
BUT WASTE NO TIME WITH HURTFUL THOUGHTS SPEND NO TIME DESTRUCTIVE
FOR TIME YOU SEE IS A PRECIOUS THING, SO SPEND YOUR TIME CONSTRUCTIVE. THOUGH I'M NO SAGE NOR LETTERED MAN, ONE THING I KNOW FOR CERTAIN
IT'S BEST TO SPEND TIME DAY BY DAY---UNTIL THAT FINAL CURTAIN!

The Peacock
A pleasant stroll,
The peacock takes
On its way back,
Each evening.
The sun has set;
The moon has come;
The air is cool;
’Tis twilight time!
The peacock walks
Effortlessly,
Amongst house-sites,
On lanes of own.
All through the way,
It feeds on leaves
That sprouted new,
A few days’ old!
A feast to eyes
Of young and old,
The peacock runs
On seeing men.
A hardy bird
With colored plumes
That gives its stroll,
A majesty.
Across the fence,
Over the bush,
It gently flies,
If need should rise.
It makes no noise,
On way back home;
It has walked miles
Unknowingly!
No snake dare near
The alert bird
That wards off foes
By flying low.
And when it’s dawn,
The dancing starts
On terraces,
As pea-hens watch!
The national bird
Of India,
Is protected:
‘So, please don’t kill! ’

Are You Ready For The End?
I ask, are you ready my dear friend, are you ready for the end?
For The Holy Bible is very clear, that the end of time is near.
The love of most will grow cold; this is what the Apostles were told.
Many in the end are deceived, even though they said they believed.
For many will fall from the Truth, and sadly live lives of ill repute.
Take The Lord's undeserved Grace, they have treated it with disgrace.
They spend their time in wicked fun, grieving The Spirit and The Son.
So they turn God's Graciousness, into a life of immoral wickedness.
Having no change of heart within, they truly don't understand sin.
Having only a natural birth, they are only mindful of things on earth.
Unwisely following men's rules, living their lives like utter fools.
Having no fear of God in their heart, Wisdom for them had no start.
The Lord is given no place to reign; so much of His Word seems insane.
When they hear of God's warning, they become filled with scorning.
But they continue to insist very boldly, that they live pure and holy.
They live in arrogance and pride, for this is what they have inside.
Their need is to be Born Again, to fully understand their wicked sin.
There is One in whom they can be sure, this of course is The Lord.
But with no change in their heart, He will tell them to simply depart.
So look around and see my friend, are you truly ready for the end?

A Midnight Stroll
A midnight stroll I'd love to take,
a stroll when the stars are out.
But if I must do this on my own
I don't want to be out and about.
Those stars need to be seen by two,
not one lonely soul.
And thus my midnight stroll can't be.
For it would take its toll.
My heart could never stand the pain
and so I'll stay at home.
I will place it in the back of my mind
and fashion it into a poem.
'Midnight stroll, midnight stroll
come to me someday.
Let my love hear my plea
so we two can find our way
underneath the stars.'

Lame Duck
They can call it,
Roasted turkey.
Defeated Wizard of Gloss.
Stalemate.
Stagnated.
And a leadership incompetent,
As a lame duck.
But guess what?
Who is getting the work done?
And who is spending the time,
Trying to define concrete activities?
They can call it arrogance.
Or 'me' a rebel without a cause!
But guess what?
Who is getting the work done?
And who is spending the time,
Trying to define concrete activities?
Doing those things I said would be realities?
Lame duck or not...
But 'who',
Amongst you...
Believe,
I will allow...
A plucking done to my feathers?
Hmmm?
They can call it arrogance.
Or 'me' a rebel without a cause!
But 'who',
Amongst you...
Believe,
I will allow...
A plucking done to my feathers?
Let me 'waddle' through!
I've got work to get done 'and' do!

Be harmless if not useful.
Either earn with arrogance
And spend with charity
Or earn with prudence
And spend with meanness.
So you can be useful
Or harmless to others.

I Refuse To Say Anything About It
I am 'not' going to say anything,
About 'anyone' and their insecurities.
It is pointless to keep harping upon them,
When those who have them are clearly possessive.
And who am I to mention who is insecure?
You know what I'm saying?
Who gave me the right to perceive,
Those with insecurities feed upon them.
With a seeking of others,
To defend their weaknesses.
And that is one of the reasons,
I refuse to say anything about it.
I'm sure people with insecurities,
Know they've got them.
'Well,
I am glad you didn't bring it up for discussion.'

Keeping My Distance
(jimmy davis/tommy burroughs/don smith)
Im keeping my calandar open
Even if it takes me years
til you figure out what your plan is
You figure out all of your fears
I dont wanna know anything about her
Or what you feel like you have to defend
But Ive seen your situation
And the world she keeps you in
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until my time is here
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until you make it clear
If you dont want to rush it baby
Well then by all means dont
But Im gonna wait for the day when
When you see that its me you want
I can see, I can tell that you need me
You know that I need you too
So why on earth cant you ever let her go
Will you ever try anything new
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until my time is here
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until you make it clear
Where will you find the strength
I cant hold you against your will
You keep me at arms length
Im reaching out to hold you still, yeah, yeah, yeah
I can see that you need me
You know that I need you too
So why on earth cant you ever let her go
Will you ever try anything new
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until my time is here
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance

Sonnet- My Ultimate Wish?
Could I not spend my days talking to God?
My precious time is spent in daily food;
If all spend lives holy, it will look odd;
Man's knowledge of the Divine is so crude.
Could I not spend my days walking with God?
What earthly work we do to save this frame!
Why do we hanker for earthly reward?
We waste God's time in sin without much shame.
Could I not spend my days thinking of God?
My thoughts are just on things of earthly mould;
Oh, how we wish that human beings laud?
Yet, without God, our hearts and souls grow cold.
Oh, how I wish I had more time for God!
Whose love for man comes with a kindly rod.
