Not Up For Grabs To Be Repossessed
You HAD that nice home.
In a selected suburban neighborhood.
You HAD that top of the line automobile.
And drove it around as often as you could.
You HAD that picture perfect family,
The kind that represented wholesomeness.
You flaunted with the best of phoniness.
And
You STILL have your pretentiousness,
With your college degrees.
Packed away!
No longer boasted about on your chest.
AND
You have the nerve to tell others,
I am the one not living up to MY potential?
How would you like to see that?
Glittering in your face?
Exhibited?
To allow you and your friends,
Who also HAD?
To stop by to pay inspection visits?
Let me dropp this on you!
Whatever you didn't see before,
That I still HAVE and more...
Was not in the clouds.
My feet have always been planted.
AND whatever it WAS I did not HAVE,
Was not up for grabs to be repossessed.
And today I find my mind at rest.

Cash In Your Face
You just could not know how long we tried
To see how this building looks inside
This must be a lucky day for me
Because the sign says theres a vacancy
Look I know you came a long way
But you made it just too late
So we had to give it to somebody else
Well I talked to you on the phone less than fifteen minutes ago
And you told me that it was cool
I graduated from howard u.
My job is paying good money too
And if you check on my resume
Youll find they all wanted me to stay
Well I cant take the time out
To check your credit card
cause the computer just broke down today
Well Ill stop by here tomorrow to complete our interview
But I know what youre gonna say
I know what your bottomline is
You might have the cash but you
Can...not cash in your face
We dont want you living in here
Say you might have the cash but you
Can...not cash in your face
We dont want your kind living in here
Too-oo, too-oo too bad,
Too-oo, too-oo too sad
Our first child is due here any day
Thats why were desperate for a place to stay
The location is so perfect too
So please try to do what you can do
Well in this apartment complex no children are allowed
And if you told me that I could have saved you alot of time
Well I thought the bill was passed that said you could not discriminate
But I know some excuse youll find
Because your bottom line is
You might have the cash but you
Can...not cash in your face
We dont want you living in here
Say you might have the cash but you
Can...not cash in your face
We dont want your kind living in here
Aye, you might be a great doctor
You might be a great lawyer
You might possess the key to the city
Or maybe a politician
You might have the cash but you
Can...not cash in your face
We dont want you living in here
Say you might have the cash but you
Can...not cash in your face
We dont want your kind living in here

It's So Nice To Be Home
Isn't it nice to be home again
Sitting around the fire with family and friends
Isn't it nice to be home again
It's so nice to be home
My little daughter's sleeping
And the boy is all right
My wife is so lovely
I'll love her tonight
Looking out the window at a new moon’s light
It's so nice to be home
I took old Blue out hunting on a Saturday
We didn't get home until the middle of May
A freaky winter storm went and blocked our way
Old Blue he kept me thinking and a talking 'bout you
And when Blue got down
I’d talk about Bobby and Sue
Together we did what we had to do
To get back home to you
It's so nice to be home.

Family Picture?
What is a family picture?
Is it all for real?
Are the people that you see
pretending they don't feel?
Can you see their anger?
Can you smell their fear?
Do you sense unhappiness
in the picture that's so clear?
We're trying to be perfect,
to look a certain way.
A family picture says so much
when there's nothing nice to say.
You plaster on the fake smile.
You put your arms 'just so'.
You show the world your family
without letting your family show.
Frank and Bluntness
Why do you insist,
On having me confront...
Your frank and bluntness.
'That is entirely of your doing.
That has to be 'your' wish...
AND selected point of view.
Since I've said very little,
Or anything at all...
About your freaking pretentiousness.
And there is less of me,
Represented here...
Than appears to be the more of you.
I was invited like a few...
To be recruited just like you.
But I'm not feeling up to par.
Although I will have a drink or two,
Provided by the open bar.'

It Would Be So Nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet, sometime
Everybody wakes, and in the morning
Hot tea and cant stop yawning
Pass the butter please.
Have you ever read the daily standard?
Reading all about the plane thats landed
Upside down?
And no one knows what I did today
There can be no other way
But I would just like to say
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime
Everybody cares about the weather
And everybody should know better
What a waste of time
Everybody lives beneath the ceiling
Living out a dream that sends them reeling
To a distant place
But no one knows what I did today
There can be no other way
But I would just like to say
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
It would be so nice
To meet sometime

An Awful Thing To Waste
So maybe you could do with a break
You've had about all you can take
You need to find somewhere you can run to
Somewhere a long way from here
Somewhere where the skies are all clear
Somewhere you can think all your thoughts through
It took a long time to make me understand
You gotta meet life and shake it by the hand
You gotta use your emotion
You talk a nice line to put your mind at ease
You want to sit back and count your memories
But that's no solution
I don't want to harp about it
But what you gonna do about it?
Look at how you're set in your ways
You used to be so willing to face
Any find of problem before you
Life is not as long as you think
Open up your mind and you'll see
Don't destroy yourself I implore you
You've got a fine wife, a perfect family
You had it all planned to live so carefully
But where does it get you
They say the mind is an awful thing to waste
And that's a fact that you must come to face
What more can I tell you?

Has It Been Depleted?
You are upset with me,
Because I have created my own success...
With sacrifice and patience.
In a place you told me I invited my own defeat.
And you have a Master's Degree in Business Finance.
With nothing to show for it,
But foreclosed and repossessed possessions.
Sometimes you don't eat?
Geeessshhh.
And your degree is packed away in storage.
While today you find yourself standing,
In an unemployment line.
Why are you upset with me?
Aren't you following your dreams?
What in your mind are you trying to define?
I can only say I have been blessed.
And kept my faith devoted.
Allowing God to do the rest!
And did not try to impress.
God often addressed this.
Perhaps that is the reason,
I still remain focused.
Why would you be upset with me?
I fell, crawled...
Stood up to clean and pave my path.
And had to endure the laughing of others,
As I passed.
With very few dimes...
To send my clothes to the cleaners.
And I remembered you told me,
You had an expense account for that!
Has it been depleted?

Repo
I had my headaches repo-ed...
Yes repossessed.
And closed up all those loopholes.
Right off my chest.
I had my headaches repo-ed...
And took my heart off a lease,
That leeched upon my peace.
Repo-ed!
I rid myself of all burdens,
I was told I had to keep!
And took my heart off a lease,
That leeched upon my peace.
Goodbye to all that stuff on my back,
To release.
My freedom got too crowded out,
And that bothered me.
I got up one morning,
To review worth and stock.
My dividends were wearing thin,
And that had to stop.
With investments spent in groaning,
And I heard that a lot!
Repo-ed!
I rid myself of all burdens,
I was told I had to keep!
And took my heart off a lease,
That leeched upon my peace.
I had my headaches repo-ed...
Yes repossessed.
And closed up all those loopholes.
Right off my chest.
Oh yes,
I confess...
I had a repo.
Yes a repossession
My headaches repo-ed...
Right off my chest.
Yes,
Repo-ed!
And glad I got that repossessed...
With every stress I had possess,
To go...
And with a repo.

Got Up to New Stuff
Today is 'my' day!
And,
I'm going to have it my way,
Today.
Getting rid of those 'come what mays'
Laying around to delay.
But not today.
This day is mine.
To do and find ways to please,
Me.
No matter who believes,
I should not live this selfishly!
Today is 'my' day!
I got up to find my mind had had enough.
I awakened to find a filled cup.
And what had spilled over,
I didn't miss a beat...
When I bottled the rest of my gratefulness up.
Today,
I got up to new stuff.
Today,
My mind had had enough,
Of the old ways of doing things.
And recognized my cup spilleth over.
With a rushing done to bottled the rest of it up.
To ensure tomorrow,
There was some left to sip as I chose.

My New Caravan
I bought a nice car-a-van
From a seller who was on e-Bay
He seemed a very nice man
So I was happy to take it away
I towed it back home with some glee
And then thought that I heard a shout
So I opened it up with the key
And a family of gypsies came out
They robbed everyone in the street
Their litter was thrown every-where
The kids ran around in bare feet
Causing havoc - but just didn’t care
I thought up a good cunning plan
I waited till they were in bed
I then drove my new car-a-van
And tipped it right off Beachy Head!

Honeycomb Child
Melting honeycomb
Tie my shoelace on my own
That boy laughing
Wearing my hands (?)
To pull me back in
Home, home, home
To your love
Home, home, home
To your love
Climb down the oak tree
Feeling the dry grass
Under my feet
I'm here without you
Holding on, holding on
Nothing to lose
And I don't mind
You protecting me
To the end us
And I don't mind
You protecting all the others
You, you carried me in
To bed from the car
I painted your face
But I had to ask
Permission to go
But don't go to far
And we like to watch
All the flickering stars
You don't like your face
But that's who you are
I got all those shells
And put them in a box
How far would you go
If I didn't want to stop
I looked in your eyes
And it was all gone
Home, home, home
To your love
Home (to your love)
Home (to your love)
Home (to your love)
To your love (to your love)

Your Outsourcing Abilities
Calm down!
What is the matter with you?
You look exasperated.
Irritated AND annoyed.
What happened?
'I arrived home.
And everything was gone.
All of my food.
Icecream and my favorite cookies.'
Gee.
Really?
I saw your buddies doing that.
But...
I didn't think anything about it.
'You witnessed it?
And didn't say a thing about it to them? '
Why should I?
Those are your friends.
Your allies.
And besides on my last visit to your home,
You declared you would do absolutely anything...
To get your hands on season tickets.
Do you remember this?
'Well...
Yes.'
Do you remember telling your 'friends',
Whatever they wanted from you...
They didn't even have to ask.
And whatever it was had been up for grabs?
And all they had to do was to take it from you?
'Well...?
Sorta...kinda.
Why didn't you stop me?
You could have said something.'
I did.
I called you a fool.
And then what did you say,
As your friends looked at both me and you?
'I said...
If anyone knew anything about outsourcing.
It was 'me' and not you who should be calling 'you' names.'
Exactly.
And you are right.
Apparently calling you a fool,
Was not enough.
Especially when you issued each one of your 'buddies',
A set of your house keys...
To come and go as they please.
'But I didn't think they would do anything like this to me.'
Well...
You did show 'your' outsourcing abilities,
At the expense of feeding yourself.
And I hope you are not here,
To accuse or blame me for your activities?
You and your friends do that 'feast or famine' thing together.
Do not involve me.
I am going to sleep, eat and live my life quietly in peace.
Would you like a sandwich?

Stories Of Hope Series #4 The Elders
His wife died fifteen years past, and he knew
Living with his children would not last.
They would want to put him in a assisted living home
Just so that they could be left alone.
They could not foresee that one day they would be elderly.
They joked about him becoming senile
But he knew that would not happen for quite a while.
He was only sixty two with so much more living to do.
He knew the only thing he had left was HOPE.
And with life’s burdens he would have to cope.
So he decided to go back to school
And learn a new trade, and show his family
that he could make the grade.
He learned carpentry, and bought all the necessary tools
And what he couldn’t get, he borrowed from the school.
He already had in his mind of what he’d like to make.
And he knew that a long time it would take.
He decided to get the WESTERN RED CEDAR
For its softness and durability, and aromatic smell
This wood he knew would work quite well.
He found the perfect picture of what he had in mind
And viewed every detail and every line.
He wanted it to be about three feet tall
And two feet wide because that size would be just fine.
He started off very slowly, just chiseling away.
And sanding it down perfectly
For that’s the way it had to be.
He used each and every sculpting blade he could find
To define each and every line.
He did each part with delicate care
For with this piece there was a love he shared.
Slowly but surely it started to take shape
He was impatient, he could not wait.
But he knew that this was the way it was meant to be
So that everyone could see the beauty that had to be.
He worked on it every day, and his worries
Seemed to slip away.
Being put in a home was no longer his concern
And that his children would have to learn
That as long as he could breathe and walk
All of this was just talk.
This sculpture became his obsession
and his passion and made him grow strong
And doing this is where he belonged.
His teachers were very impressed and said
He was the best student yet.
They said that this was a work of art and of beauty
And should be put on display
And that for this the public would gladly pay.
He knew there was something missing
And that it was not complete,
and this problem he would defeat.
Then it dawned on him that it was needing color.
He needed the darkest blue and the deepest brown
And went about painting it without making a sound.
The darkest blue was for the piercing eyes
And the brown for the shoulder length hair
This was the perfect pair.
For three months he had toiled with perfection
For this was of the LORD and his resurrection.
And this was how it came to be
That this elder found harmony
HOPE IS THE KEY TO SET OURSELVES FREE

The Not So Perfect Family
The perfect family
Or so it seems
All the children
Shining like beams
They are smart, athletic
Witty and fun
Loved by all
Hated by none
The dads a teacher
The mom runs the store
They volunteer in the community
Always helping the poor
Their accomplishments
Shine in public light
Nothing they do wrong
Everything right
This is the model
Many inspire to be
Although this family isn’t perfect
That they’ll never see
How do I know
You may not have guessed
Im part of that family
And let me tell you
We’re no better than the rest
Dads never home
He only has time for his friends
Time with the family
He has yet to spend
Not the marriage she wanted
She’s always sad
Mom’s always invisible
To my dad
Except for the times
When he comes home late at night
The smallest thing in the world
Can cause the biggest fight
Three younger sibling
Two always cry
Have to be strong for them
In the face of loves lie
Why be together
When distant at heart
For all these years
They should have been apart
But that they wont do
For the youngest three
Who still live at home
Life unimaginable, it would be
So my parents pretend, everythings okay
Although trapped together forever
To give us the lives we live
Feelings of true love, for them felt never
The perfect family
Not quite what it seems
This thought to us children
Nothing more then a dream

Perfect Sense
Its been so long since the first day
I met you girl and since then
Weve been to heaven and been through hell
Weve seen life in each others skin and through each others eyes you know me better than I know myself
I thought of you today and wondered why
Id torn down what wed built
I checked my memories felt guilty for the way
I felt I know you think
I think I know everything but thats so far from the truth
Only thing I really know is theres so much for me to learn from you
Dont know the reason why it took me so long to see that
In a less than perfect world you make perfect sense to me
Dont know the reason why it took me so long to see that in a picture perfect world youd always be standing next to me
Ive seen that picture too, the one you said you painted in your head a mural of a perfect home you and I a family and friends
Cant change the past cant change whats passed so I guess theres just one thing to do
Let you know just how I feel and ask to build a new future with you
No need to look down you know if you fall that I will catch you
Ill be your safety net and always remember Id die for you and no one else but you
I will be here for you I will always be here for you

Something About Insight, Intuition and Awareness
There is something about insight, intuition and awareness
That can not be taught.
Like common sense is not a family trait.
It is either there or it isn't.
Experience in observation seems to be a prerequisite.
And some folks are born to walk around,
With their heads in the clouds.
I have actually had conversations,
With those who can lie easily with a straight face.
And then embellish that with something else.
Not aware they do not have to split their lips...
Before my radar detects dishonesty about to arrive.
Dressed elegantly in full BS.
There is something about insight, intuition and awareness...
That uplifts a consciousness that is far less expensive,
Than daydreaming during a college lecture.
And much more adventurous,
Than sitting to listen to a professor's drone!
Trust me.
Been there/done that!
It just amazes me people with college degrees,
And thousands of dollars still owed on loans...
Don't have a dropp of common sense!
If I was the one paying...
I would sue!
Or demand my money back for malpractice.
The expectation and what has been accomplished,
Just does not provide the balance.
Can you 'feel' me on this?

Living For Tomorrow
Music :rudolf schenker
Lyrics:klaus meine
Im still living for tomorrow
Im living for today
Lets make this world
A better place to live
Stop to take
Start to give
Loves got the power
To get it done
To stop the pain
Of a killing gun
And even if you say
Were gonna die today
Im still living for tomorrow
Im living for today
Cause love will find a way my friend
Whatever it will take
Im still living for tomorrow
Im living for today
Why dont we try today my friend
To make this world a better place
Lets make this life
A better life to live
Stop to hate
Learn to forgive
Evil power can kill
The human race
If we give life
A human face (a human face)
And even if you say
Were gonna die today
Im still living for tomorrow
Im living for toda
Cause love will find a way my friend
Whatever it will take
Im still living for tomorrow
Im living for today
Why dont we try today my friend
To make this world a better place (a better place)
And even if you say
Were gonna die today
Im still living for tomorrow
Im living for today
Cause love will find a way my friend
Whatever it will take
Im still living for tomorrow
Im living for today
Why dont we try today my friend
To make this world a better place
Im still living for tomorrow

Missed everything
I missed everything that was connected
It never flooded mind and affected
Yet occupied most of the time
Tears may role out from eyes sometimes
Today we are fully grown up
Be always ready on feet and jump
As life has remained a great challenge
Sometime proving difficult and hard to mange
I missed childhood street plays
When we used to run all over the ways
In rain to rush and have dance in showers
Friends will also run after and follow
How to forget class rooms and colleagues?
Secretly managing all answers and clues
Without the knowledge of class teacher
All notorious guys throwing arrows and playing archers
Mother to run after carrying the food dish
With annoyance and love requesting to finish
But not listening to her and proving difficult
Beaten by stick then with little of insult
Memory passes like film trailer
One after one scene reminds of failures
How I was to prove weak at studies?
All types of taunts from friends and neighborhood ladies
Everything looks like happy journey with lone passenger
Nothing seems hostile in life with any kind of danger
Yet those days remained crucial with bleak future ahead
I was to prove able man when time came to lead
Today I am somewhere on the front line
Managing country’s defense and life line
All loop holes to be plugged in times to come
Memory forces me to smile and welcome
How was I careless and known notorious child?
How all the family members was nice and very kind?
I was taken care of all the demands
Even though punished sometimes in open sky to stand
I wished all the children same
From whatever background they came
They were the loved ones and liked
Sometimes might have been beaten and disliked
I loved each and everything connected with childhood
How people will come and complain about me from neighborhood?
I failed to understand at that time why where they irked for nothing?
One thing was sure that we were all trouble shooters and certainly did something
I have rifle by my side but not at all detracted
I have taken up the position and almost inspected
Some movement across the border is seen with naked eyes
Yet memory hunts to invade me with all its force
By heart I am still child and careless
All innocence not gone yet on the face
I try to become child and slip into sweet memory
Every human being deserves some place and is quite necessary

On The Top Of A Mountain
Diss your issues that you've got with me.
I'm not about them!
Stop and dropp 'em.
Diss your issues that you've got with me.
Hey hey,
I'm not about them!
Stop and dropp 'em.
You say you've paid,
Dues you want to send my way.
I'm not about them!
Stop and dropp 'em.
You say you gave,
Others time you gave away.
I don't doubt it.
I'm not about it.
You say pain stays...
Riding on your back each day.
I don't doubt it.
I'm not about it.
You seem so afraid,
To let go and just walk away.
Then you want to blame me,
Because I'm not frustrated?
Diss your issues that you've got with me.
Hey hey,
I'm not about them!
Stop and dropp 'em.
Diss your issues that you've got with me.
Hey hey,
I'm not about them!
Stop and dropp 'em.
You say you've paid,
Dues you want to send my way.
I'm not about them!
Stop and dropp 'em.
You've got to learn to make pebbles from a rock!
Keep'a chippin' at those boulders...
'Til you find,
You've climbed to the top...
Of a mountain!
You've got to learn to make pebbles from a rock!
Keep'a chippin' at those boulders,
'Til you find...
You've made up your mind,
You can reach and plant your feet...
On the top of a mountain!
You can choose to look down and around...
But you can choose to move everyday,
Without delay,
From all of your nonsense!
