Nip It Quick
There is a big difference between,
Seeing a thing for what it is.
To comprehend its meaning and existence.
Than it is,
Trying to avoid it.
By crossing a street.
Climbing a tree.
Or running to escape from it,
By hopping a fence.
To look back to see that it has grown bigger.
Those who make attempts pretending,
What 'is' does not exist.
Eventually find that digging a hole,
To hide from the growing enormity it.
Suffer from consequences they can never repay.
It is always best to be proactive,
No matter who or what.
Becomes offended by the action.
And face those dilemmas when they arise.
Like being strict with a child,
Regardless of how cute that child may be.
The first time there is a sign of disobedience occurring,
Nip it in the bud quick.
Do not give up to quit.
If not.
The control to introduce a discipline when it is too late,
Is a fate one confronts that is inescapable.
When one is fed what is allowed to become an addiction.
And an attempt is made to stop it?
All hell breaks loose.
Nip it quick!
Or a price will be paid for it.
If not.
Prepare to give up everything that once had a value.

Too Comfortable A Passenger
You have come much too late,
To request from me to give to you...
What at one time,
Was thrown back in my face.
It is not that I am embittered.
Those days feeling that way,
From me have gone.
And like the passing of each season,
I'm not the one to linger with wishes,
That any season I might like...
Continues to go on.
That would be too selfish of me,
To believe something will wait...
Until I decided it was time to celebrate,
In the appreciation of it.
You have come much too late,
To request from me to give to you...
What at one time,
Was thrown back in my face.
However I will suggest,
You develop more pro-action...
With a learning to do that at your best.
And accept what to you has been given.
Instead of looking for something to impress.
Since this might eventually,
Address your attempts to catch...
A train that has already left the station.
And I have been made too comfortable a passenger,
To get off to satisfy a going back in time.
Even if that 'was' a possibility.

That child in me
Just like any other child, I never experienced being brought to school by a nanny.
My family couldn’t provide me one.
Just like any other child, I never experienced being fetched by a chauffer.
My father could not afford any.
Just like any other child, I never experienced being prepared a lunch box for my snack.
Nothing was there to prepare anyway.
Just like any other child, I never had a bag of my own.
What I had was a plastic bag that could accommodate all my belongings.
Just like any other child I never had good shoes to wear.
I got broken slipper; sometimes, none.
Just like any other child, I never had a good pair of socks.
An old pair of Boyscout knee socks is all I got
Just like any other child, I never had a uniform for my school.
Well, I inherited two faded ones from my grade six cousins.
Just like any other child, I was never allowed to go out camping in school.
No one could provide me the things to bring.
Just like any other child, I was never allowed to participate in any school games.
I was too thin to play any games
Just like any other child, going to school without breakfast became a habit.
Not because no body’s preparing it for me but because there really is nothing to prepare.
Just like any other child, I can hardly pay for my school tuition fees.
My mom barely had enough money after she does the neighbor’s laundry.
But unlike any other child, I never quit.
I never quit! I never quit!

The Child In Me
I am a full-grown man
With a wife and children
A good job to do
Have all that I need
People think
I have lot of experience
To share with others
I give to them
What is expected from me?
But do not hide
The child in me
At times
I cry and laugh like him
Ask questions
As a child does
Play and behave like him
I know
Childhood cannot return
But the child in me
Takes me back
To the carefree
World of A child
No matter,
How old I become
I do not want
The child in me to die

A Welcoming Of Their Own Grief
I remember a time,
When being honest with integrity...
Actually made a difference.
People had respect for those,
Who used their minds and were direct.
I also remember,
When people were not so quick...
To protect obvious mistakes made.
Or wasted the time to debate,
A welcoming of their own grief.
I remember a time,
When being honest with integrity...
Actually made a difference to leave.
And people did not pass judgement,
Before they listened to comprehend.
And today people have grown accustomed...
To ignore the message to then blame the messenger,
For their mistakes made to say as if offended...
They should be forgiven for not being accountable,
As they played unconsciously until it became too late.
And I remember the day when I walked away to leave,
This insanity to embrace my peace.

Wishing To Believe They Are Exempt
As a mere child,
I recognized racism existed.
And nothing has changed,
Regardless who interprets it.
Or those who remain in denial,
Of its growing existence...
Wishing to believe they are exempt?
Because they have done the best they can,
To become accepted by the ignorance.
And feel offended when they do not fit in?
Today...
Color is the least thing people can find,
To prioritize what offends them.
And with a dissecting of ignorance,
With an encouragment that evryone should participate...
The process to end all dilemmas would begin.
But then again,
Only fools find comfort in their own limitations.

Can We Give An Inch or Two
Can we give it more time,
To find...
It can be with us all worked out.
Can we give it more time,
To find...
It can be with us all worked out.
Can we give it more time,
To find...
It can be with us all worked out.
Can we...
Give an inch or two to make it stop.
All unnecessary stuff on our blocks.
Can we...
Make that difference and make it stick.
Can we...
Show more confidence and tolerance.
Can we...
Get off the fence and nurture common sense.
Can we...
Open the door at our expense.
If we don't...
It's never gonna git don'.
'Cause we wanna be bees but we ain't making honey!
Can we give it more time,
To find...
It can be with us all worked out.
And the money from the honey made by bees...
Is giving us the squeeze.
Can we...
Give an inch or two to make it stop.
Can we...
Stop unnecessary stuff on our blocks.
Can we...
Each other motivate without hate.
Can we...
Appreciate each other without debate.
Can we..
Arrive too early and not be late...
To witness the release,
From faking.
Can we...
Give an inch or two to make it stop,
From faking.
Can we...
Stop unnecessary stuff on our blocks,
From faking.
Can we...
Give an inch or two to make it stop.
Can we...
Stop unnecessary stuff on our blocks.
Can we...
Each other motivate without hate.
And faking.

Leave Me Alone
The meaning of leave me alone...
Does not really mean to leave me alone,
Not to be alone in my loneliness.
But to leave me alone,
As I contemplate how long I will have you wait...
Until I'm ready to end your suffering.
Of course...
Someone has to suffer behind this childish activity.
And it's not going to be me.
I'm the one initiating the dismissal.
Therefore,
I'm entitled to at least grovel in thoughts
Someone actually cares I am acting like a child...
And will come to give me kisses!
BUT...
On my terms!
Now...
If I should suddenly hear the door open and slam close,
I am quick to spring to my feet to give chase.
However...
Do not allow me to do that,
And I discover you have done that to get my reaction!
I am quick to learn,
Just 'who' toys with my affections!
When I decide they are given!
Now,
Leave me alone!

An Exchanging Of Footsteps
Could it still be a possibility,
That one's life lived exclusively...
Running away from responsibility,
Can learn after many years spent...
Ignoring the benefits obtained,
In acquiring skills in arithmetic.
Or the process it takes to comprehend,
What has been read to broaden a limitation...
Accepted in one's head instead,
To begin to attach those pieces that fit.
And they eventually could sit patiently,
With a doing of this?
Let us not be quick,
To lift with a raising up of our right eyebrows!
Many dismissing the discipline it takes,
To quietly absorb a practice in listening...
Actually wait until it's too late,
To find someone desiring to teach an adult...
To undo those childish stunts in a mind done.
Even children in their fifties can learn!
Let us not be quick,
To lift with a raising up of our right eyebrows!
A willingness to waste another's time,
Is okay.
Until it has become decided,
Someone's seriousness is ready to be displayed.
And...
Is reason enough to give away,
Those experiences acquired by someone else.
And we all can participate in the joys of life.
Let us not be quick,
To lift with a raising up of our right eyebrows!
There are people all over the place,
Willing to sacrifice their time, minds and efforts...
With their experiences suffered alone to condone,
In an exchanging of footsteps!
All it takes...
Is just for 'one' of us to let this be known.
Let us not be quick,
To lift with a raising up of our right eyebrows!
Let us, you and me...and Mother Love,
Just for a few moments abandon realities!
And...
Use our minds to perceive of this,
Idealistically.
'Yep!
Didn't I tell you?
They were doing much more,
Than the changing of test scores...
In the teacher's lounge.'

Speed Trials
Hes pleased to meet you underneath the horse
In the cathedral with the glass stained black
Singing sweet high notes that echo back
To destroy their master
May be a long time til you get the call-up
But its sure as fate and hard as your luck
No onell know where you are
Its just a brief smile crossing your face
Running speed trials still standing in place
When the sockets not a shock enough
You little child what makes you think youre tough
When all the people you think youre above
They all know whats the matter
Youre such a pinball yeah you know its true
Theres always something you come back running to
To follow the path of no resistance
Its just a brief smile crossing your face
Running speed trials standing in place
Its just a brief smile crossing your face
Running speed trials all over the place

Quick Is The Beat Of My Heart
Written by lewis mark
Lead vocals by james young
If its my time to die today
Please God oh make it fast
Balanced on this point for a year and half
I just dont think I can last
Theres a man whos laid to rest
The man who gave me my start
I wish I could quit but I cant and its rough
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
So please all you people
Dont you grieve for me
The blood in my veins is black and I cant bleed
Ive suffered the pain
And all I can face is the dark
Oh, lord, quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Now my bags are almost packed
The trains about to depart
I wish I could quit but I cant and its rough
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
If its my time to die...

Dont put that thing too close to my head
It took this long just to get ahead, he says
He knows for sure, but that he cant decide
Between his decency and this matter of pride
So hes growing up on time, hes growing up in the middle...
And it burns, and it burns, the sun burns
Oh, now I can really feel it. how could you ever stand it?
Weve got the same ideas, we got the same old fears;
Different colors sometimes, but hey, who cares?
Its just years that shears our lives apart, like the
Time you tried to teach your nephew to fart, he couldnt do it. push!
So hes growing up on time, Im growing up in the middle...
Oh, now I can really feel it. how could you ever stand it?
Im not the kind of person who would say it, if it wasnt the truth
And then you go and tell a friend that her hearts on fire
And it has no meaning.
Now and only now I know the difference when you tell me
There is no difference.
So shes growing up on time, shes growing up in the middle...
Nows the time to evaluate between the love you give
And the love that you take.
Its not a matter of opinion, when it comes down to it,
Its just a difference of opinion, that much I can take.
So Im growing up on time, Im growing up in the middle...
And it burns

Our child once grown
What if my wife revealed that she was pregnant by me?
However, what if our child one day chose simply not to believe?
In nine months and eighteen years, I need to answer this question.
Nine months for God and my wife to give birth to the little one.
Eighteen year for us to train them in the way that they should go.
But, it is our child choice in whom to believe once grown and outside our front door.
At home, our child shall be instructed about the consequences of their sin.
Our child will understand the punishment of God for sin in the end.
I will train our child up in the Godly way that they should always go.
I will show them the love of the wonderful God I personally know.
Once grown, by us, our child shall be shown how to live life righteously.
Regardless in whom they believe, they will always be our child to me.
How would I feel if in spite of everything I taught and showed our child?
Our child decided, once grown, to take another way in life for a while.
Although taught while young not to steal; once grown they stole any way.
Although taught while young not to lie; once grown they lied every day.
Would I abandon them as quickly as the rest of the world?
Would they still be the prized apple of your heart and still be daddy’s little boy or girl?
Still, there is always a chance our child might choose in God not to believe.
If our child does, it is not because of the lack of the right instructions from me.
I will love our child even if by their life they chose not to follow God.
Because no matter what our child is an important part of my heart.
In who to continue to believe that major choice of life shall be their own.
But, they are still our child though they choose not to believe or act right once grown.

Before All Hell Breaks Loose
(kinky friedman)
Time to resign from the human race
Wipe those tears from your lovely face
Baby, wave to the man in the ol red caboose
Before all hell breaks loose.
Before you go I wish youd come
Before you leave wish youd love me some.
Ill give you all of the dreams you can use
Before all hell breaks loose.
All right!
Now I know what the gypsy meant
When he told me Id never be president.
He said, adopt a korean, kill you a moose
Before all hell breaks loose.
You poked fun at my cowboy shoes,
You said they looked just like big canoes.
Now its time for the chosen ones to choose
Before all hell breaks loose.
Turn out the lights, honey, turn on the news
God save the queen and the kangaroos
And what kind of rubbers did joseph use
Before all hell broke loose.
Time to resign from the human race,
Wipe those tears from your lovely face.
Baby, wave to the man in the ol red caboose
Before all hell breaks loose.
Hell on america!

Cold Sweat
I've got alligator shoes
And I've beeb makin' news
I've got plenty of women
I've got plenty of booze
(Give me a shot)
Walked into the spot light
At the local bar and grill
Find a down and dirty woman
Well I'm gonna take my fill
Look right into her bloodshot eyes and
Scream my honey, I'm gonna make you mine
I paid the tab
I called a cab
Went back to my place
Had a hell of a time
I get excited
I feel loose
I move to quick and I get
Caught in your noose
CHORUS
(And I sweat)
Every time that we touch
(And I sweat)
I get the chills up and down my spine
(Cold sweat) You bet, You bet
Its a midnight stage freight
Ice cold sweat
Ooh we went home
All alone
Then we turned down the lights
And unpluged the phone
Well I'm a snake
But I'm no liar
Makin' love to me is like
Pouring gasoinline on a fire
I feel loose
I move to quick and I get caught in your noose
CHORUS
All I want is a little action
Ooh a little bit of satisfaction
You beat me down
Then kick me out
So scream and shout
And shout shout
Oh yeah
Then I sweat (4X'S)
Sweat, (Cold sweat)
I get the feeling every time
We fu fu fu fu fu
You bet you bet

My true story about myself
People stop ordering me around. I am only one person, yet you treat me like I am twelve people. I can only do one thing at a time. I am sorry I am really slow. I am only a child, I'm still trying to be kid while I have a chance. But, you see you people give me the responsibility of an adult. I am tired of ruining my plans, to do adult things. I don't want a perfect childhood but I would like a nice one where I would be able to do teenager things. I want to be a normal child, even if I am not. You people are driving me crazy with all these do this, do that. I'm sorry, but if this a normal childhood, I rather be dead. I feel like that when I try to talk nobody could hear me. I could scream and nody would hear me. I am invisable. Besides who would want to see a girl who has no mother, a father she never sees, who is a nobody, who can't make a difference, who is hideous, who can't do anything right, who is ashamed for everything she is? Sometimes I think about killing myself, actually I do it a lot. It's just I am so tired of being used. I am used one way or the other. I always wonder what would happen if I die. Would anybody care? Would anybody even notice? NO! Yes I know I made mistakes. but isn't the point of life, is make mistakes and learn from them. I know I made a lot, but I would never take any of them back. I don't care anymore about what other people say. I am just so tired of this. I can't live like this much longer. There has to be a change, and quick. To tell you the truth, I even thought about running away. I don't know where I would go. I do know is that I would never return. I'm sick of having responsibility of an adult, and everybody tells me to be a kid. HOW? When I'm constantly cleaning, cooking, cleaning, cooking, school, school, homework, cleaning, cooking? Can I please have a break once in a while. I am begging you. What did I do to deserve this? I think I have a right to know.

Do You Hear Me?
Give you
Time?
To do what?
'To comprehend
What you are saying.'
And
You expect me to do what?
'Be patient.'
And in my patient waiting,
What from you can I expect?
'An attempt to understand.'
I tell you what
Why don't you make those attempts
To understand on your own time
And if you find me understanding
With a comprehension you have discovered
Not outdated by my continued journey
Of living life by taking chances
Without making excuses
To introduce myself to fresh experiences
'Perhaps' I may be struck by a bolt of motivation
That inspires me to listen with time given
Just to focus on you
'Oh?
So
What are you saying?
You are not willing to take the time?
So
What is it that you are saying?
You are not willing to take the time?
Do you hear me?
Do you hear me?

To Allow It To Manifest
Condoning ignorance,
Does not prepare anyone...
To defend against it.
Even those with an abundant wealth of it,
Have not begun to become haunted,
By the error of their foolish ways.
And to have allowed it to manifest,
As an accepted activity to protect...
Will not ever prove to be,
A decision that has made...
The existence of it cost effective.
Since the price of ignorance,
With its after effects expressed...
By the tolerance of a showing of disrespect,
Has already made its appearance...
Weak on dividends expected.
And an investment now so out of reach,
Many now find too expense to sustain...
As a social disbelief now attacking as if a beast,
That has become much too overwhelming to appease.
And yet there are those still wishing to meet,
With time taken to procrastinate in denial.
Feeling that a doing of this showing of a seriousness,
As a useful benefit to click on a few minds too dim.
Much like a suggestion of a gluing of fallen Autumn leaves,
Back onto tree branches from which they fell.
Proposed sacrastically!
But,
Incredibly enough...
There will be many believing that to be a good idea.
An ignorance deep in depths like this,
Is pointless to make attempts to awaken.
A darkness so embedded,
Will never surface to become enlightened.
No matter who has been appointed,
To control the light switch.
The batteries in some heads are dead.

Spontaneity
You know where and how to find me.
I make no attempts not to be accessible.
But to hear from others...
You have not seen me for awhile,
Is more than a bit embellished.
In fact...
The last time I saw you publicly,
You pretended not to see me at all.
Remember?
Go ahead...
You have already proven,
To have a reliable selective memory.
Were you waiting from me to approach you?
To display your best act of phoniness?
I only have one face to give in this life.
Only one!
I use to have those expectations myself,
When others I would see...
On the street with their friends,
Taking opportunities to avoid me.
But these are the days of our lives,
Aren't they?
And today those same people,
Say I do not speak when I see them.
And they are right!
So quick now they seem to be observant.
Receiving sometimes is not so pleasant.
And...
I only deliver what I receive.
There is more on my mind,
Than the premeditating of responses.
Or the rehearsing of approaches.
There is something about spontaneity I like.
