May Initially Hurt From The Dirt Dispersed
Once a mistreatment
Of trust has been discovered done
That's it!
All the drama in the world displayed
Is not going to restore one's faith
In that which has been mentally used to abuse
Apologies given with the asking of forgiveness
Is something one wishes when caught
That's it!
And that's all that that is
Like a roach stunned when caught
By the instant glaring of unexpected light
Apologies snapped together quickly
Rarely can be associated with sincerity
Apologies snapped together quickly
Is a quick way to remove one's burden
From a feeling of guilt
What else can it be?
An invitation to have icecream and cookies?
This is doubtful
Suspicious feelings felt
Don't overnight fade away
In fact
One's decision to sever all ties
From someone like this that lies
May initially hurt from the dirt dispersed
But, The benefit of having peace of mind
Is worth any looks from deceivers
One's willingness to be empathetic may get
And the getting rid of headaches
The moment they appear
Is therapeutic
There is nothing like submitting totally to truth
With the letting of the rest of that nonsense go

There Are Those Who Are the Exception
Do you honestly believe,
That saying things derogatory
About anyone...
Will suddenly be erased,
With a few apologies?
And a forgiveness done that is forgotten?
Let me introduce myself.
Since your approach to life,
Is a little different from mine.
How many things have you done,
That were 'unconsciously' intended?
None?
Me either.
In fact...
I doubt if that is possible.
So often,
Apologies are expected to be accepted!
That's why my approach to life,
Is to snap someone awake...
The moment my toes are stepped on.
And I do my best to inflict similar pain.
This 'turn-the-other-cheek-business'?
I'm just not into.
People know exactly what they do,
When they do it!
Under the influence of alcohol.
Or flying high on weed.
So often,
Apologies are expected to be accepted!
And there are those who are the exception.
They have feelings connected to emotions...
That are at stake.
And mistakes at their expense is not for-give-able!

Under One Small Star
My apologies to chance for calling it necessity.
My apologies to necessity if I'm mistaken, after all.
Please, don't be angry, happiness, that I take you as my due.
May my dead be patient with the way my memories fade.
My apologies to time for all the world I overlook each second.
My apologies to past loves for thinking that the latest is the first.
Forgive me, distant wars, for bringing flowers home.
Forgive me, open wounds, for pricking my finger.
I apologize for my record of minuets to those who cry from the depths.
I apologize to those who wait in railway stations for being asleep today at five a.m.
Pardon me, hounded hope, for laughing from time to time.
Pardon me, deserts, that I don't rush to you bearing a spoonful of water.
And you, falcon, unchanging year after year, always in the same cage,
your gaze always fixed on the same point in space,
forgive me, even if it turns out you were stuffed.
My apologies to the felled tree for the table's four legs.
My apologies to great questions for small answers.
Truth, please don't pay me much attention.
Dignity, please be magnanimous.
Bear with me, O mystery of existence, as I pluck the occasional thread from your train.
Soul, don't take offense that I've only got you now and then.
My apologies to everything that I can't be everywhere at once.
My apologies to everyone that I can't be each woman and each man.
I know I won't be justified as long as I live,
since I myself stand in my own way.
Don't bear me ill will, speech, that I borrow weighty words,
then labor heavily so that they may seem light.

Totally. Totally. Totally Bummed
Totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Significant this feeling is,
Hard to overcome.
When an aging is apparent,
And nothing can be done.
And when one has a wisdom,
One developes more and more...
The pressure to pretend there isn't,
Can not be ignored.
Oh, totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Being now an elder,
Overnight has stunned.
Totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
No more looking 26.
Overnight has stunned.
Disappearing quick was 36.
Overnight has stunned.
And the 46 that came...
Picked up 56 and split.
And now I can't believe it,
I am elderly legit.
Oh, totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Being now an elder,
Overnight has stunned.
Totally. Totally. Totally bummed.
Being now an elder,
Overnight has stunned.

No Apologies
Whenever we talk about sun all I see is the rain
It's like looking for tears in a ocean
I'm hearing your words like the wind
They blow straight through my heart
Will you ever give in to emotion
And we hurt the ones that we love the most
Why we do only heaven knows
And I don't know why I'm still holding on...holding on
[CHORUS:]
I reach in my heart to see
If your love is alive in me
But now I feel alone
My feelings turn to stone
My heart makes no apologies
When an apology's made it isn't always enough
To erase all the past in a moment
Whenever I need you the most
You always leave me behind
With a word from your lips I'm alone
You've been blind not to realize
All the love that I hold inside
So tell me why do I keep holding on...holding on
[CHORUS]
What I need is your sympathy
Like a light flowing into me
But I will never give up holding on...holding on
[CHORUS]
...my heart makes no apologies no no
my feelings turn to stone... I make no apologies

Hear Me Out
Im sorry, baby. I didnt mean to do what I did.
I mean, it just happened so fast, you know?
I woke up out of the situation.
And I was like, mike, you dont even need to go out like this.
And thats why Im calling you, you know?
Just listen to me.
Hear me out, girl. hear me out, girl.
My apologies for breaking your heart.
Hear me out, girl. hear me out, girl.
My apologies for breaking your heart.
Ooh, at home all alone thinking to my self
What a fool I was for letting you go (letting you go).
If I could re-wind the hands of time,
Id take back every word that made you cry (dont cry).
I know I acted kind of crazy (I know I acted kind of crazy).
I need you now to understand me (please understand me).
Hear me out, girl. hear me out, girl.
My apologies for breaking your heart.
Hear me out, girl. hear me out, girl.
My apologies for breaking your heart.
Well, now is the time for us to realize how much we mean to each other, girl (to each other, girl).
Just dont walk away. thats much too easy.
Im begging you to stay (stay).
I know I acted kind of crazy (I know I acted kind of crazy).
I need you now to understand me (please understand me).
Hear me out, girl. hear me out, girl.
My apologies for breaking your heart. (you know Ill get down on my knees and say...)
Hear me out, girl. hear me out, girl.
My apologies for breaking your heart...

The Little Turtle
A Recitation for Martha Wakefield, Three Years Old
There was a little turtle.
He lived in a box.
He swam in a puddle.
He climbed on the rocks.
He snapped at a mosquito.
He snapped at a flea.
He snapped at a minnow.
And he snapped at me.
He caught the mosquito.
He caught the flea.
He caught the minnow.
But he didn't catch me.

Sorry To Myself
For hearing all my doubts so selectively and
For continuing my numbing love endlessly.
For helping you and myself: not even considering
For beating myself up and overfunctioning.
To whom do I owe the biggest apology?
No ones been crueler than Ive been to me.
For letting you decide if I indeed was desirable
For myself love being so embarassingly conditional.
And for denying myself to somehow make us compatible
And for trying to fit a rectangle into a ball.
And
To whom do I owe the biggest apology?
No ones been crueler than Ive been to me.
Im sorry to myself.
My apologies begin here before everybody else.
Im sorry to myself.
For treating me worse than I would anybody else.
For blaming myself for your unhappiness
And for my impatience when I was perfect where I was.
Ignoring all the signs that I was not ready,
And expecting myself to be where you wanted me to be.
To whom do I owe the first apology?
No ones been crueler than Ive been to me.
And
Im sorry to myself.
My apologies begin here before everybody else.
Im sorry to myself.
For treating me worse than I would anybody else.
Well, I wonder which crime is the biggest ?
Forgetting you or forgetting myself...
Had I heeded the wisdom of the latter,
I wouldve naturally loved the former.
For ignoring you: my highest voices.
For smiling when my strife was all too obvious.
For being so disassociated from my body,
And for not letting go when it wouldve been the kindest thing.
To whom do I owe the biggest apology?
No ones been crueler than Ive been to me.
And
Im sorry to myself.
My apologies begin here before everybody else
Im sorry to myself.
For treating me worse than I would anybody else.
Im sorry to myself.
My apologies begin here before everybody else
Im sorry to myself.
For treating me worse than I would anybody else

Feelings Felt Deep And Personally
Some are still awaiting,
For an approval of their thoughtlessness.
With a comprehension understood and accepted,
As to reason.
While a guilt from them fades.
Having a consciousness presents its consequences.
There is a possibility of one escaping from mistakes made.
But intentional activities done,
Believing one to be freed from feelings of remorse...
Do not come quickly with hollow apologies.
Feelings felt deep and personally...
Often do not detach themselves from memories!
And someone consistent in showing their disrespect...
Are seldom seen walking in someone else's shoes.
Some feel it easy to excuse themselves from their misdeeds.
Until it has been made known whose toes they have stepped upon.
And only then they perceive this to be,
An oversight and a forgiveable issue to be forgotten.
Like the act of ruining one's reputation.

All Apologies
What else should I be
All apologies
What else should I say
Everyone is gay
What else could I write
I don't have the right
What else should I be
All apologies
In the sun
In the sun I feed as one
In the sun
In the sun
I'm married
buried
I wish I was like you
Easily amused
Find my nest of salt
Everything is my fault
I'll take all the blame
Aqur scafoam shame
Sunburn with freezeburn
Choking on the ashes of her enemy
All in all we all are

The Forgiveness Of Vengeance Upon Vanity
Self worth is valued by only thyself.
When one obsesses upon this.
Their is nothing left for anyone else.
A vanity of selfishness.
A heart with no selflessness.
Motive of ones own.
To gain, to take the lead.
Taking pride upon the steed in which you ride.
Look at me because I'll never look at you.
Completely ignored as if one doesn't even exist.
Something someone might have missed.
Anger is all one feels, as shallow as these wounds are.
The infection still does not heal.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
Not in such a misguided light.
Vengeance is only a temporary accommodation in which you can feel once again whole and complete.
A home that as soon as you try to rest your head will be gone.
Try as you might the guilt will not pass or fade.
A jaded sensation upon the heart.
Apologies due, and their will be those who never will accept.
As in a gift rejected.
It leaves you kind of empty, with a willingness purge yourself of such misdeeds.
Sometimes their will be things you just can't achieve.

Cut and Separate Quick to Split
There are those who believe themselves chosen,
To hold up the process of one's life.
They are the ones who elect to be understood...
With no comprehension or faith to do things.
Not the way they should be done.
Unless they have a say...
In which way they decide,
What has to be done for them is right.
And something that initiates,
A feeling of false pride.
Even though what gets done,
Is at a time that arrives too late for some.
With an expectation for others they delay...
Should sit and wait with a patience,
That has become frayed.
Strained and frazzled.
Or...
They wish to debate uselessly,
Over that which should have taken place.
And wasting as much time as they can,
To be understood!
'For goodness sake!
I am not the cause for this reaction! '
When folks like this,
Began to flaunt excuses to abuse and disrespect...
Never acknowledge what it is that they do,
Because from you they will determine...
You have become accustomed to their neglect!
And from you expect apologies.
Sever yourself from these kinds of people.
Cut and separate quick to split...
From this addicting BS.
And have none of it!

What I Love Most About The Truth
What I love most about the truth,
Is the way it treats deceivers.
And how it exposes those who lie.
As if to do it with a clinical blatantness.
With no regard for those,
Making excuses with trite apologies.
I can see why so many are afraid of it.
It doesn't tease like evil does.

Truth Behind Her Smile
Just see how she makes them love her
Twisting the world around her finger
Sensing weakness in a stranger
With one kiss shell re-arrange ya
But I know the truth behind her smile
Keep me warm tonight, never satisfy
If you meet again she may pass you by
No apologies, never compromise
Its the truth behind her smile
Just see how she makes them want her
Oh, if I could be her for one day
Sensing weakness in a stranger
See them run, no sense of danger
But I know the truth behind her smile
Keep me warm tonight, never satisfy
If you meet again she may pass you by
No apologies, never compromise
Its the truth behind her smile
Shell let you down
Keep me warm tonight, never satisfy
If you meet again she may pass you by
No apologies, never compromise
Its the truth behind her...
Truth behind her smile

It Is Much Too Late!
It is much too late,
To remove that which has taken place.
While you were asleep,
And not in your mind 'awake'.
You devoured such a taste for hatred.
Served as you digested it...
From the plate.
And licking it clean after you ate!
Oh it is much too late,
To erase affects of disrespect.
Or to think forgiveness sits,
Ready to be given.
From those broken hearts intended,
Now too painful to mend.
It is much too late,
To appreciate those you were taught to despise.
Much too late,
To replace false images deceived by your lies.
It is much too late to fake an empathy for others...
When it has been known,
None you've shown.
Or attempts you could have tried.
It is much too late,
To remove what has already taken place.
And much too late to wait,
For an understanding to come...
From anyone who has suffered,
By those things you've done!
It is much too late!
For those apologies spoken,
To be believed by anyone.

I Accept Apologies
Have I done many things,
That were 'blindly' experimenttal?
Well...
I was not completely blind.
And yes,
I confess to being adventurous.
Do I have regrets,
For doing those things...
That were less socially accepted?
Gee...
You have no idea how I wish,
These questions you ask...
Were from a multiple choice test.
But...
I was born with a creative nature.
And I've done my best to express those interests.
So...
Even though some folks may have been upset,
I have no regrets.
Hopefully a time will come,
When more will welcome that choice to live.
And people will remove their noses,
From cracks and crevices on other folks exposed.
I keep my fingers crossed on that!
'You are direct and bold,
Aren't you? '
What did you expect?
Apologies made with excuses?
'Well...
Yes.
I guess.'
I accept apologies!
But...
Excuses I don't make.

(Angry Poem) Calm Hate
A humble thought.
A pleasant calmness.
Then snap it's gone.
Like it was never their.
Preparation a waste.
Such a sour taste.
To know who those are that do not care.
I shall not have pity or anger towards the indifferent.
For it would do nothing to change it.
It's a matter of fact,
with words you cant retract.
Wasted apologies.
Hated because of what I am.
Played, like a fiddle but still I don't care.
Sometimes no matter how much one tries they cant break you down.
They don't understand and it's not their fault.
They got caught and they didn't even know it.
Lies to protect are still lies.
At sunrise to sundown.
Run me into the ground.
Bury me cause your in constant agony.
I will still rise,
i will not compromise.
I am who I am.
So if you feel you must stop me if you can.

Apologies I Give Are To The Trees
The only apologies I give,
Are to the trees.
They have to be thoroughly disgusted,
By what they see on a daily basis.
And...
To stay fixed in one place,
Being disgraced.
And 'still' play a part,
In providing people oxygen to breathe?
The only apologies I give,
Are to the trees.
With a hug given each time I pass one.
Showing a gratitude for their patience.
Where would we be...
If they could up and take their leaves.
With no branch or twig to pick.
Or a stick to throw for a favorite pet to fetch.

In Praise of Poetry...
Apologies, folks
for slipping this one in
under the guise of a poem
but isn't it great
to open this site's window
and find 20 poems
by 20 poets
several for the first time
making a fantastically rich hour or two
just reading them
such as never could have happened
a few years ago
(three cheers for webmaster)
I know that some of us
write umpteen poems a day
but could you please
space them out, just one or two each day
so I can read them without hurrying?
Apologies again, and
consider this as really
a poem
in praise of poetry?
which it is.

Slowly Falling
I'm infected with this feeling
It boils in my blood
Empty apologies are sick of me
Stop with these petty lies
This sickening taste in my mouth
Cannot be washed away
The light I can see is slowly dimming
My sanity drifts away
My back is breaking from this burden
I bring it whevere I go
I fall to my knees and howl in pain
Disgraced by those around me
I wallow in my sadness
It consumes my entire body
Maybe, someday, possibly, hopefully
Someone will come to save me.
