Apologies I Give Are To The Trees

The only apologies I give,
Are to the trees.
They have to be thoroughly disgusted,
By what they see on a daily basis.

And...
To stay fixed in one place,
Being disgraced.
And 'still' play a part,
In providing people oxygen to breathe?

The only apologies I give,
Are to the trees.
With a hug given each time I pass one.
Showing a gratitude for their patience.

Where would we be...
If they could up and take their leaves.
With no branch or twig to pick.
Or a stick to throw for a favorite pet to fetch.
