I Found My Niche

I found my niche.
And it was a bitch to get it.
There is no convincing to be done.
For me what has come...
Restores a confidence.
And ignores without defense,
Those comments made...
By the ones searching for clues,
And hints as to what is best they do.
I found my niche.
And that is it for me.

I praise CBS for taking a risk, which is always the price you pay for opportunity. This is not standard movie of the week storytelling. I think movies of the week have fallen into a niche and that isn't my niche.

It's Your Niche

Some people...
Rather sleep than leap.
Some people...
Can't get up on their own two feet.
And some people...
Seek defeat!
While some people...
Tease a sleaze to keep that peeped.

But it's your niche...
That must be pitched.
The one that fits.
And doesn't quit one bit.

Yes it's your niche.
That must be pitched.
The one that fits,
And doesn't quit one bit!

Some people...
Rather sleep than leap.
Some people...
Can't get up on their own two feet.
But it's your niche...
That must be pitched.
The one that fits.
And doesn't quit one bit.

Some people...

Don't have a niche.
Some people...
Give up too easy and they quit.
Some people...
Don't have a niche.
Some people...
May have a scratch but have no itch.

Searching

I'm searching for something
Something I've already found
But not knowing that I've found it
Not even sure what it is that I've found
I'm not sure it's my soul that can't find it
Or my senses that seem to block my mind
From finding what I'm searching for that
I've already found
Or is it the heart that I can't trust to help me
Find my way to this thing I have found but don't know
I've found it
Is it the barrier we all have to come across?
That we will find but never know that we have found it
Or is it my lonesome imagination
trying to play tricks on me

I guess this is just one more thing
I have to deal with today
I know I'll always be searching
for something I've already found
And it will always be searching
for me but it has already found me
I know this thing I'm searching for
has and will change my life for the better
For I hold it very dear to me but don't know I do
And it holds me dear to it but
dose not know it holds me dear
I will always be within it
It will always be within me

We are part of each other
Pieces of a puzzle
The stars in the map of stars
Two wings of a butterfly
But what could it be that I'm searching for
Dose it think about me
Dose it wonder about who I am
Is it just as confused about me
as I am about it

as we lay on the blanket under the stars silently thinking
you turn on your side put your hand around me
then say so sweetly
so passionately
I'm so glad I found you baby
I've been looking for you for a life time
I love you and always will
for you are the only thing I’ve been
searching for

I Found My Niche

i found my niche
and it is the place of my brothers whose tongues
are as forked as mine
whose words are as sharp as mine and we understand
how to say them
and we say them as we understand them
from the roots
to the stem of our awakenings

some bottles of wine will do
in this little niche
this country of my people
where i am one
of those counted to make a stand
and speak

there will be singing and touching of hearts
through the poems that we compose
and read with each other

there will be this sense of ourselves
back to our own arms
this sense of home
where each of us
are so alive.
we keep the poems in our own language now.

and if you wish, you must learn what each word means.
come, come, you are invited.
leave your slippers
before you enter. There is this burning bush in the middle
of our presence.

it is burning. it is burning.
we are in the midst of this worshipping.

come, come, come, stranger.
there is no reason for fear here.

She's A Bitch

She's a bitch
I once loved her but now I hate her
I once was sad to think of her dying but now I really dont give a shit
because She's a bitch

I can't believe I actually listened to her bullshit
I can't believe I tried to commit suicide over her ass
Shes a bitch

I don't know what I though about her that was so special
Shes a bitch

She will deceive you
She will make you feel loved
Until shes finished with you
Shes a bitch

She despises love
She hates the sound of it
Because shes a cold hearted bitch
What else would you expect

She seemed so perfect
Until her flaws started showing through
She seemed so loving
Until I found out the truth
Shes a bitch

The ones who seem so perfect
Are the ones that you really need to stay away from

Shes a bitch
Even thou shes a bitch
Shes my bitch
and thats the end of it.

Labor For Eternity

How can you my friend not afford, to spend your time for The Lord?
He carves a niche for you and me, a niche secure through eternity.
You may have a niche on this earth, but does it have eternal worth?
Will all of your labor be in vain, when you reach that eternal plane?

When you help your fellow man, are you building on rock or sand?
The Rock you know is Jesus Christ, the sure foundation of New Life.
As the sands shift and change, only life in Christ remains the same.
As you live you can understand, life on earth is much like the sand.

What’s here today is gone tomorrow, causing many pain and sorrow.
Earthly endeavors are fleeting friend, as earthly ways come to an end.
Fix your eyes upon Christ my friend, and your time you’ll wisely spend.
By God time for all has been cast, only what’s done for Christ will last.

Together labor for Christ our Lord, and you will see an eternal reward.
As this earth is purged with fire, your reward is preserved much higher.
Build your future upon The Rock, and you shall receive eternal stock.
Stock with an eternal dividend, which found in Christ, shall never end.

You can help God sow some seed, just simply follow The Spirit’s lead.
Until all the seed planted is grown, water the seeds others have sown.
Serve The Lord bearing His Name, in the end you won’t be ashamed.
But, well done you will hear Him say, as you’re rewarded on that day.

In Search Of A Man

I am searching a man
I am in search of a man
And here there is no man.
Village town state
Land water sky
I search out and out
and not found.
Found the dog the cow
The crow the camel
The tiger the snake
No man said Jackal.
I am still searching
Still searching seaching.
I am in search of a man
I am searching a man.

Cheerleading.

I found my niche in life
In a sport not quite like me
Because on the outside
You saw a shy, timid, tomboy
Who avoided eye contact
And wore boy shorts and had scraped up knees.
I was afraid to speak my mind
And had never worn a skirt
Bows just disgusted me
And make-up just seemed like way too much work.
But slowly I fit in
Cheerleading became apart of my life
It kept me away from home
And all the pain and strife.
I became more outgoing
My true self began to shine
I had found my true identity
The identity that was mine.
Cheerleading saved my life
In too many ways to count
Without cheerleading
I wouldn’t be who I am now…

Requiem For The Year 2011

at the last hour
we march toward a common grave
bringing the flowers
and some stones

they year is kept inside
a niche laced with white silk

slowly the men with strong arms
lowered the niche
to the the newly dug hole
seven feet under

the women with long black hair
wept beside their innocent children

the year is buried
as we then throw the final stones

then it is covered
with its soil returned
until it is full
and then we put the flowers
it is over
now

and then we go back to our houses
it is nighttime
we close the doors
and open the windows to see
those beautiful stars

Mother's Dream

‘A sixty year old dream
Recurred last night, '
She just shared with me
After her routine puja
A lump formed in my throat
Seeing her eighty year body
In a tremor and a forgotten quiver
In her otherwise passive voice
‘Do you remember the room
We used to sleep in?
Can you recall a small dark niche?
There I found a baby ivory elephant
When Ramakka was a toddler...
Now I found hoards of baby elephants
Ivory in colour and closely guarded by the mothers, '
She went on, ‘and then I found Sardar Vallabhai visiting us
For some reason I didn't know I followed him
Only to find myself lost and loitering till I sighed in relief
Sighting some people busy at construction...'
She paused... ‘once again to find hoards of elephants! '
And she walked to the table for lunch...

The man is a success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children who has filled his niche and accomplished his task who leaves the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty or failed to express it who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.

Asbestos Lungs...

never did i think in my whole
life that i finally found this little niche
where all my molds
could grow admiring its leafless
state, its tiny black spores
infecting surfaces of my books
taking my thoughts
as food needed for
its new colonies
flourishing with a dose
of humanity, this humidity
our own human body...

dead wood, scarred hearts,
asbestos lungs.

Searching London

I was walking in London
searching for you
finding a little bit of you
here and there,
but nowhere
were you to be found
it was only a little bit of you
here and there…
but nowhere were you
or even such a love
to be found…
empty I walked the streets of London
searching for the meaning
of such a love
knowing it could not be found
until we meet again
and our hearts beat as one.

And So Found Dawn

it was in doubt
that i found faith.
it was in forgiveness
that i found forgiveness.
it was in loss
that i found passion.
it was in suffering
that i found understanding.
it was in letting go
that i found freedom.
it was in the mirror
that i found prayer.
it was in darkness
that i found light.
it was in jail
that i found dignity.
it was in addiction
that i found determination.
it was in giving
that i found love.
it was in fighting
that i found reason.
it was in reason
that i found dissatifaction.
it was in questioning
that i found truth.
it was in truth
that i found the need for silence.
it was in silence
that i found kindness.
it was in working
that i found respect.
it was in respect
that i found acceptance.
it was in living
that i found god.
it was in god
that i found the need to touch.
it was in caring.
that i got dirty...
and so found dawn...

Games Of Betrayal

Wait.
I just heard what you said.
And it has to be a joke?
Or you believe I am the ultimate fool.
Which is it?
And what in me are you trying to provoke?

You stated,
In amazing sincerity...
That you,
Are one of my closest friends.
And you want to shelter me from harm.
With a coming to my defense without question.

Your comments are very convincing,
And...
If I had not been targeted,
With a remembered backstabbing done...
A few years ago,
And a few years prior to that...
Your comments would have me sobbing,
In grateful tears.

I do not carry bitterness on my sleeve.
And lucky for you I am not revengeful.
What you have done I will never forget.
But don't ever take my kindness for weakness,
If you want to keep your consciousness.

I do not play,
Games of betrayal...
At all.
Nor find it 'cute' or funny...
That anyone would perceive me,
As disconnected from my sensibilities!
That...
Would be a heartbreaking mistake to make.
