Globalistas

Globalistas outreach to speak.
Inspired wired and wireless alike...
Connecting shared perspective thoughts,
Over the internet.
To let an awareness be known and texted.

Through email and downloads,
In a communication explosion.
Exploring with fingertips...
Without a phone call to place.
Or a mouth with lips with a voice to lift.

Gone are those days when simple dialtones amazed.
These 'globalistas' have minds more advanced.
Using mental skills that are much more enhanced...
Than those still romancing times long gone.
And few care to remember as the 'good-old-days'.

Note:
'Globalistas' as defined by Lawrence S. Pertillar...
'Those who use internet services to communicate globally.'

Internet Terrorists

The internet is a lovely place,
with it you can make friends
all over the world.
You can travel with it to countries
you will never be able to see,
talk to their people,
and even make new friends there.

Like with everything,
there is good and bad.
You get a few who want to spoil it
for all the rest.
They call themselves jokers and such.
I call them internet terrorists.
They come in different guises,
spammers, and pornographers to name but two,
but the worst of the bunch
is the virus constructors.

We’ve all been hit,
maybe even more than once
by these terrorists of the internet,
and as each day passes
a new virus is produced
somewhere by there internet terrorist,
who just want to ruin every bodies lives,
and take away their enjoyment.

Why I am writing this,
my computer was stuck today
by one of these insane lunatic
and their silly games.
It is no fun waiting hours on end
for the anti-virus protection
to sort the problem out,
given to you by some faceless lout
called an internet terrorist.

Good Old Days

I remember the good old days.
The days when a black man such as myself could not even look at a white woman. Remember what happen to Emmett Till because he did.

Yeah the good old days
When a hard working woman named Rosa Parks got arrested
Just because she refused to get up and give a white man her seat.

The good old days
was when a group of men could burn down a of place worship
And kill four little black girls.

The good old days
When a man like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
got killed only because he had a dream.

I often hear people saying I miss the good old days.
But from my perspective those good old days
was not that good after all! !

Exchanging On The Internet

A privacy expected,
When exchanging on the internet...
Those quick enhanced glances,
Openly shared with others one just met.
Is a foolish notion,
After posting...
Something to reveal!
That should be kept secret.
And away from those this may appeal.

Anyone upset,
To have their information...
Exposed and inspected,
By an unwanted nosiness...
Is someone wishing to probe quietly,
Other lives in the hope...
That their own steps followed,
Will be respected and not ones to regret.

A.f.u.

90 days on the road is what i need
When my axe cuts me deep, i let it bleed
On the stage, off my strings, down my face
And all over me
Pumpin' up for the show
Feelin' like something's gonna blow
S'got me all fired up
Yes, i'm all fired up
Through the ice into the fire
Blowin' steam
North and south, east n'west, right n'left
I'm always extreme
Don't like the middle squeezing me
I don't like nothin' in between
Yes, i'm all fired up
Got me all fired up
When the rest have packed it up
I'm alive, i'm electric, inspired
I, i'm naturally wired
Wired, naturally wired
Wired, wired
I'm naturally wired
Naturally wired
Wired, naturally wired
Wired, naturally wired

A web of lies

As I lay down in my bed
and cry
I realise
It was all a web of lies

I was deceived
as I misconceived
the one identity
that I even had to question
my own sanity

I became a fatality
an instant causality
of using this facility
with hidden negative opportunites
called the internet

A web of lies
spun on the internet
Right in the chat room
dusted into my corner with a broom

I wanted to believe
I do not know why
hence created a world of my own
email addresses
flashing me messages
as cold as any marble stone
The truth was blown
When I heard my clowns on the phone

Be careful
Take care
I say with a sigh
It was all a web of lies

Wrong And So Long Gone Are Those Times

You pop up.
With expectations,
I dropp and stop my doings?
Wrong and so long gone are those times.

Call me crude, rude and insensitive.
But whatever it is you do call me,
I hope eventually you will learn something...
About respect.

Those hazy, lazy, crazy days we had once shared,
For me do not today exist.
For years I haven't seen you...
And you still believe you can treat me like this?

Wrong and so long gone are those times.

The Declining Art Of Communication

We all seem to be living our lives
At an ever increasing pace.
We are finding less and less time
To meet up with people face to face.

You often read stories in the press,
About people being fired or dumped by text.
The way in which we communicate has changed so much,
That you do find yourself wondering 'Whatever next? '

There are some things, which by text or email,
You just really shouldn't say:
Like, if you're telling someone that they're no longer wanted,
Or that someone they know has just passed away.

You can check your email at your leisure,
Unlike if someone contacts you by phone,
But like they say, it's good to talk,
So you really shouldn't moan.

I love receiving letters on fancy paper from my friends,
And hear them dropping through my letterbox,
But the whole idea of 'snail' as opposed to email,
Is a concept which, nowadays, is often mocked.

If you're talking face to face,
You're less likely to get the wrong impression.
You can connect more to people's thoughts and feelings,
If you are able to read their facial expressions.

Tackling a sensitive subject with someone,
Often has us trembling with fear,
But is it really better for it to be discussed
Electronically, rather than ear to ear?

Sometimes, you can spend hours together,
During which time, very little of importance is said.
Then, later, you log on to your computer,
And discover all the gossip is on there instead!

If you put all of your news on Facebook,
You may find your face to face conversation is suddenly dead.
When you next meet up with someone and mention your news,
They will turn to you, and say 'Yeah, you said'!

The world of communication has come on in leaps and bounds,
But, in some ways, it has advanced too much.
Communication can now be so impersonal,
That we seem to have lost the human touch.

Interconnectedness.

The internet can’t be controlled
by any form of government
Because it’s gained too strong a hold.
Which came about by accident.

Nobody can control the flow
Although some governments still try
Of information to and fro
There is one simple reason why.

The common man has access to
What governments try to conceal
A system that’s completely new
Now people can safely reveal

The secrets of the powers that be.
The things we aren’t supposed to know
they can post anonymously
There’s nothing governments can do.

At last the people have a voice
no government can suppress
The powers that be have little choice
and in the future even less.

The internet is here to stay.
It’s up to us we must adjust.
WE can’t go back to yesterday
A world of mutual mistrust.

One thing we must appreciate.
Though information’s flowing free
It isn’t always accurate
We have to choose selectively.

What we accept what we reject
and draw our own conclusion.
I have good reason to suspect
more not less confusion.

The internet may prove to be
Either a blessing or a curse.
Though I believe quite honestly.
The internet won’t make things worse

Than when governments could decide
What people were allowed to know
To preserve the nations pride
They lied alike to friend and foe.

The internet has set us free
to find a different better way.
Though we will have to wait and see
What kind of price we have to pay.

My Memories of Then

I remember moments far back in the deepness of my mind
Of past times, of you and me and a life that has been
I remember thoughts I use to have all throughout the night
When my world was about you, one that I have always knew
I remember knowing how you were the part that made me whole
The wings on my back now unusable, that let me flew
I remember then, why I no longer wanted the world's gold
Because I had you, making me feel like I'm important
I remember the days passing so quickly, now lost forever
That defined my youth, and the man that was forming
I remember those words always said and never stuttered
About the love we shared, the duality intertwining
I remember the clouds, the weather that was above us
The cold days in warmth, on a big bed we were lying
I remember the end, the memories now covered with dust
But everything I know about you is still perfectly fine
I still remember your face, and all that we've said and seen
How it came to be, and how it came to pass is all in my mind

Tribute to Parents

I have shared my feelings
& thoughts for you
Countless times
Still feel the need
To pen a few lines
Sometimes words fail
What I want to express
When I think of you
Out of the countless blessings I have
The most precious are you two

The pride of being your daughter
Is my corner stone
It binds me to you
Over internet and phone

All that you have given me
Things I can and cannot see
This bountiful inheritance
Shall enrich my existence

Today I say goodbye
For soon I will fly
But kindly remember
I am still your family member

You can count on me
Even if I am across the sea
If and when you need
I shall pay heed

'Being there' is something
I have picked up from you
Forever I shall love you.

Seven Days A Week And Tweaked

When I filled to the brim,
Knowing my hip hop days were over.
And mentally I had graduated,
To levels with a taking of my life seriously.
Something within me had to address foolishness.
With a leaving behind several people,
Who still today wish to stay in playful arenas.
And can not seem to find,
A structure that defines order in their minds.
To excuse their choices made as having a good time!
Seven days a week and tweaked to celebrated...
Those times lived.
And how they use to be in those old days long gone,
They can not let go!

Old Days

Old days
Good times I remember
Fun days
Filled with simple pleasures
Drive-in movies
Comic books and blue jeans
Howdy doody
Baseball cards and birthdays
Take me back
To a world gone away
Memories
Seem like yesterday
Old days
Good times I remember
Gold days
Days Ill always treasure
Funny faces
Full of love and laughter
Funny places
Summer nights and streetcars
Take me back
To a world gone away
Boyhood memories
Seem like yesterday
Old days - in my mind and in my heart to stay
Old days - darkened dreams of good times gone away
Old days - days of love and feeling fancy free
Old days - days of magic still so close to me
Old days - in my mind and in my heart to stay
Old days - darkened dreams of good times gone away
Old days - days of love and feeling fancy free
Old days - days of magic still so close to me

On The Internet

Forget about it being fresh,
If it is discovered...
On the internet.

It is not as if a wrong telephone number,
Has been called and placed.
One makes and chooses to forget.
To dial another!
Today anyone can be traced...
As if face to face.
To become as close,
As a brother, sister, father or one's mother.
With a spending of more time electronically...
On a keyboard that connects...
Wherever in the world one wishes to be.
And whenever the need.

'I've felt closer to you in these past few days,
Let's get married!
We'll meet at the alter...
And exchange introductions.'

Anyone can be researched,
From birth until death.
And if someone has claimed,
Notoriety and fame...
A simple 'burp' heard while eating,
May stir the beginning of one's shame.

And if one should make a mistake,
No matter how small or insignificant it is...
Someone may decide to use it,
As a means to remember!
And never to forgive.

'You burp while eating?
I had no idea.
That's disgusting!
I thought you were more,
Than just an average human being!
Let's divorce.
We still have time to select another course.'

Forget about it being fresh,
If it is discovered...
On the internet.
As just as disposable!

Candid Camera

Smile,
your on Candid Camera.
All in good fun, we used to say.
But times have changed,
Internet, U tube and cell phone technology
make everyone a filmmaker,
everyone a critic.
Every move you make
part of a digital footprint.

The Internet...
like an open sore when
left untreated... spreads
lies and infection easily.
Old fashioned common sense
and good judgment
not included.
The World looks on,
Judging,
Beware the Candid Camera.

Talk About The Good Times

(words & music by jerry reed hubbard)
Well I remember when I was as children
The time the people used to treat the neighbor like a fellow man
And all their singin and big prayer meetins
When a man was proud to walk up and shake his neighbors hand
Oh you talk about the good times,
Talk about the good times
Oh if you ever needed help a friend was there
Some good neighbor
Help lift your burden
Mmm, and the simple joys of life a friend would share
Times are harder and the people are changin
Now most folks couldnt tell you who their neighbors are
All their guns are loaded, the front doors are bolted
Aint this ol world takin hate and fear just a little too far
Oh you talk about the good times,
Talk about the good times
I wish I could go back to the days Im speakin of
When a friend would meet you
And a smile would greet you
What this ol world needs now is a little old fashioned love
My granddaddy God rest his soul now
Well we had a big long talk together the day he died
Said son this world is full of hate and venom
An I cant wait to leave this ol place and rest on the other side
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
Im gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol days
Well have a big hand shakin
An sit and talk together
Sit down by the river jordan and sing our blues away
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
Im gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol days
Well have a big hand shakin
An sit and talk together
Sit down by the river jordan and sing our blues away
Oh you talk about the good times, talk about the good times
Talk about the good times
Im gonna see all the friends I knew in the good ol days
Well have a big hand shakin
An sit and talk together
Sit down by the river jordan and sing our blues away

It Is Best To Be Prepared

Just because a mouth is constantly open...
Doesn't mean expectations should be raised,
That anything worthwhile comes out of it.
Would you trust one known to gossip...
With a secret,
You wished not have publicly exist?
Think about it!
Would you rely on someone,
Who has never committed to anything done?
But sit,
To give unsolicited opinions...
As if,
They have knowledge or wisdom you had not witnessed.

When someone like this gives you advice...
Don't be disrespectful by not listening.
Since you never know what is being said...
Will make you think about it more than twice.
Remember...
If you can tolerate BS?
Anything is possible.
Even a confession of ignorance.

I've done it!
And it is refreshing to become 'humblized'!
A process called 'growth' begins.

Just because a mouth is constantly open...
Doesn't mean expectations should be raised,
That anything worthwhile comes out of it.

But then again...
Never lower 'your' expectations,
That something coming out of a mouth like this...
Has not been visited by a thought process.
Connecting one day to make sense!
And you were blessed to have been made a gift of it!
The eyes and ears take over,
When the mouth is closed.
With observation and listening enhanced.

It is best to be prepared...
Anytime, any place, from anyone and anywhere!
Even birds don't fly seeking just a tree to land on.
Nor does wisdom exclusively come from those considered wise!

And 'that' took me a long time to realize,
My depth of comprehension...
Kept adding unto my understanding.
And at times my patience and tolerance I question.
