For An Anger That Comes to Visit
Most of them have no discipline at all.
Nor have they had a patriotic thought.
Not within those of shallow conciousness.
Or expressed a patriotic deed...
Disconnected from materialistic needs.
Their mouths have been open to be fed.
And they have only known to feed their greed.
So it should come as no surprise,
They do not understand...
The bitterness that lies,
Under the surface of someone...
Who finds it difficult to close their eyes,
And can not forget losing a love one
To war, pain or suffering.
Or a day they awaken with those feelings met.
Or participate in needless conflicts.
Ones long gone...
But their minds can not forget.
And to endure these constant images...
Coming when they please,
To haunt.
While watching others sit back...
Undaunted as they flaunt their trivial existences.
And not have a care connected to this,
At all!
Yes...
I can say,
I've lived through it.
That's why I can be appalled,
Without a need to apologize to anyone...
For an anger that comes to visit!
And dedicated to my memories.
Yes...
I can say,
I've lived through it.
Sometimes in masquerade.
And doing that quite well.
Praying...
As I thank God everyday,
I have no traits of Godzilla!
Or any other destructive being,
Real or imagined...
To chase away those in fear screaming,
From something horrific that they've seen.

From a Time Gone By
Is this surge worse than Viet Nam?
At least back in 1968,
There wasn't so many conflicts going on!
And being a patriotic black young man...
I had returned from the military,
Feeling strong and giving a damn!
I was in the military,
Two weeks after graduating from high school.
Seeking to protect a nation,
Not then realizing...
When I was discharged,
I would be considered a fool!
And I was shown this,
More times than a few!
Especially by those...
Who went on to graduate,
With BA's and MA's and PHd's...
From top notch schools!
And here we are today...
Approaching two thousand and eight!
With our sons and daughters in wars,
They participate.
And I think back then,
How patriotic I had been.
To think I was prepared to give up my life...
So others can have rights,
To denounce me and the color of my skin!
But let me say this...
Not one hint of bitterness,
Within me exist!
Not because of actions,
I consciously did take!
Although it irks me to no end...
To see so many folks make the same mistakes.
As I grow older with the grace I am blessed!
I am so happy
My tattered emotions have been mended.
My inner conflicts have been cured of buried stress.
But I must confess...
The world we live now is in a mess!
Not because of real threats made.
But because of an ignorance accepted and expressed!
People have lost an inner worth it seems.
Gone are visions of fellowship,
To the marketing of schemes and corruption themes!
And the youth of today,
Have one thing on their minds!
How best they can 'get over'...
To obtain 'things'
By committing an assortment of crimes,
They are assisted to define!
As the sacred dollar...
Falls to worthlessness.
I feel my basic needs are those of a relic!
From a time gone by when people just wanted
To 'be' and do their best!
One who seeks peace of mind with quality...
While others seek to feed an endless greed,
From an emptiness that is felt!
Whether or not,
There is conflict and unrest!
And I observe this 'mess'...
Wondering why this humanistic 'slide'
Tumbles into oblivion!
Without more cries of those rejecting this in protest!
And each day that I awaken...
I thank God,
He has put my faith and bravery I have shown...
Through such obstacles and tests of mental strength,
He has produced!
And He and I alone have known!
While others may portray a sympathy...
Just to maintain a materialistic gain.
Without one hint of dignity that remains!
Or none remembered to be sustained!

Am I Less Patriotic
Am I less patriotic,
If I choose not to embrace...
Conservative values,
With a more broadened view...
That may be idealistic,
With equality issues I pursue.
Am I less patriotic,
If those who are hypocrites annoy?
The ones with their self righteous political opinions.
Those who influence lawmakers to consider and employ.
Am I less patriotic,
If I am bothered by illegitimate conflicts.
Those that depict one class of people,
As being worthy to indulge...
In the feeding done of their own interests.
Am I less patriotic,
If I wish hunger and homelessness...
From all made to suffer from this,
Was erased from them and did not exist?
Am I less patriotic,
If I chose to express my feelings about it?
And am I less patriotic...
If I refuse to inflict upon another pain,
With a taking away from them...
To benefit my own selfish claims to gain.
Am I less patriotic,
If my ambitions are to sustain and maintain...
A peaceful co-existence,
Between those who have chosen to benefit...
Appreciating their lives as they wish.
Without being oppressed by those who infest...
With a manifestation to control with a beholding?
Taking away from others as if...
They were entitled to do this!
Am I less patriotic?
Or am I just another delusioned human being?
Wishing all differences,
Were accepted or not demeaned to maim.
Or disrespected to be considered obscene.

Remember Not To Forget Me
You have been through a lot
You still have a long way to go
Discrimination will always be in your way
You will face new trials everyday
So many people you will meet
Just remember not to forget me
You have a lot to live for
But not a lot to come back for
I’ll always be here waiting
Waiting for the love of my life
For my happiness to return to me
Please remember not to forget me
You gave me what I never had before
Hope, a reason, the will to keep being
I lived for the moment, you taught me to slow down
You taught me to think about it, to savor it
And then to plan for tomorrow
So when tomorrow comes, remember not to forget me
When you’re with me, the rest of the world fades
Everything melts away and it’s just you and me, face to face
I don’t know how you feel, but I know you are part of me
You are my other half, I need you to breathe
You are the light to my dark, the night to my day
As the sun rises and sets, remember not to forget me
You remind me that I don’t need their reality
I just need you with me, away where we can be
Every kiss you give me takes my tears away
With each passing day we get closer
Closer to the day when you will take me away
Just come back, remember not to forget me
I tried to quit you, to prove i didn’t need you
I failed, I couldn’t forget you, the memories found me
Everything near me has residue of you
Close my eyes, I see you, as if you were here
You know what, I couldn’t be happier
Carry the memories with you, remember not to forget me
Every morning that I wake, I’ll think of you
And you will be on my mind all through the day
When it’s late, I’ll be thinking of you, as I lie there alone and awake
As I dream it is you I will see
I can only hope you will be thinking of me
My darling, my love, please remember not to forget me

Patriotic Lies
You sit pondering, thinking slowly
About the things that have been done
You can't help but doubting
That this war can actually be won
You think of the events
that led to this war
And the memories start coming back
People jumping from the 80th floor
Rather than staying to die with the pack
The U.S. has never been more patriotic
Than in the past few years
But the patriotism is wearing thin
And so are the tears.
You can help but think
People are starting to forget
Except for those that were there
Worried about money and bets
Instead of Caution and Fear.
Is smart to move on
But never forget
Because if we're not aware
The same thing may happen again
The fear, the tears
Body's falling
here and there
All of this for people to finally care? ?
September eleventh two thousand one
Will continue to dwell in our minds
But we continue to fall
To divide, and make racial lines.
Why should it take Rage, Sorrow, and terror
For us to finally unite?
September eleventh two thousand one
Will never be sealed air tight...

Reasons
Living on the streets of nowhere
Nobody understands and nobody cares
Nobody Listens, so who can I tell my life is just a living hell
I'm going back and forth no one to turn to
Slowly losing my mind so what am I doin'
If you could only see the pain and hurt in my soul
But you don't understand me so how could you know
Sometimes it gets so bad I think I'm losing it
Can't get a hand out of life so I'm losing my grip
And when you lose your grip, then you begin to slip
Death is just waiting one to trip
Heading down the path to nowhere
No one can hear me, 'cause nobody's there
Life gets darker and there's no light at all
When the ways of this world just prepare me for the fall
What can I do, what can I say
I don't know love, only hate
What would you do if you were mep
I guess you'll never know
How would it feel to walk in my shoes
A victim of this world only used and abused
Trapped in a box with the walls coming down on me
Suffocated by my sin, it keeps drowning me
They say they know how I feel
Let's end it all, right now, that's how I feel
Don't have a care in the world, life means nothing
Don't look back, don't look back, just keep running
Run - Keep running
Run - Keep running
How long, o Lord?
Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
And everyday have sorrow in my heart
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, o Lord my God
Give light to my eyes or I will sleep in death
My enemy, will say "I have overcome him"
And my foes rejoice when I fall
But I still believe in you Lord
And I know that you're real, you're so real Lord
Come and take me away from this place Lord
Everyday I will follow and seek your face Lord
But I trust in your unfailing love
My heart rejoices in your salvation
I will sing to you my Lord
For he has been, for he has been
Good to me
You're the one who rescued me
And you're the one who set me free
I kept on running, but there's nowhere to hide
You took me in with your arms open wide
You loved me first when no one else would
You died for me so I give my life to you
False hopes and lies
But you're the one who's next time I run
I'm running straight to you

My Biggest Fear
I have this feeling it’s called fear
I have the fear of who will be dying or will I be next?
If I stop think about “how can I have myself prepare? “.
This fear is consuming me.
It’s like stealing something from me.
I don’t know what it is….
How to deal with it
I want to see it........
Can anyone help me to see?
Does this feeling go away?
Are these feelings real or fake.
I also have a fear of not achieving my dreams
That thought makes me want to scream.
I have Fear of my life.Every day that’s not much
I could say on that, I try give it my strife
The real world gives me fear too.
Sometimes, “I wish everything would disappear
Instead appear into fear”.
The Fear of losing my mother before I am ready to let her go.
What road do I take so I won’t let fear win.
Fear takes my thoughts of losing my husband, and
losing one of my children too.
Even though, I almost did loose a child.
I can let the fear, do what it is doing..
I fear of losing my dearest friend.
I am sorry I cant pretend that fear is not here.
The fear of my own death and the cause of it will be?
I don’t want to see.
The fear of my lifestyle should it be the way it should be lived?
or should it be change?
Do I dear change it, but how?
I know that I have a fear of being alone.
It’s the unknown
Is My Biggest Fear

Where Love Shines
(J.P. Maunick / S. Grey)
People gather together where the love shines
And everyone is truly free
There's a light on the world for you and me
Trip around the world
Take a good look around, tell me what you see
Everyday people looking for love
Yes they are searching
There's nothing in the world
Nothing else to be found, that can compare
With the power of love
Everyday we are yearning
Now gather together
>From every corner of the world
Let's open our minds to the light
Chorus:
People gather together where the love shines
And everyone is truly free
There's a light on the world for you and me
It's no mystery
Let it rain on me, yeah
Trip around the world
Take a good look around, tell me what you see
So much anger and pain, life's a game
That we're losing
Stop the masquerade
By the truth we are bound, and that's no lie
People crying for change
Everyday they are praying
Now gather together
>From every corner of the world
Let's open our minds to the light
Chorus (x2)
Your love
Really wanna have it
Do you really dig it?
Really gotta get, get, get, get it

Remember Me When Im Gone
Why I don't know why even how?
How Lovers turn strangers
How all the passion and love
Turn in to ashes just in a while
How your real love flew
How it could be true
The love between me and you
The thing that I've never got
How the love like flower dies
How Would you tell me how
How you could forget the love
For It's sake days and nights breathless stood there
Never got tired of knocking the doors of my heart
love I loved you and lived for your love even after you've gone
Love I loved and I lived your pain
For your sake I used to love your pain
Because my love was real and
Truer than true
No one ever will be loved like The way I loved you
Someday you will comeback
But it'll be too late
never again you'll find me there
A lifetime I'm standing right here
Got tired this heart of mine
Long years alone waited for your return
If I had one more life I would sacrifice for your love
But when the time of leaving comes
There's nothing to do my love
When you come back when I'm gone
you will return home broken
That moment you'll feel how much you've hurt the one who loved you more than her life
I'll go far away taking with me your love and all the memories
Those memories never gone away
Like my shadow always chased my way
Remember me when I'm gone
Because even in my grave I'll always love those smiling green eyes.

The Visit
It's not that I want everything for nothing.
I just want a part of you,
I value.
That side of you clouded by your moods.
I don't see often enough.
Only when you decide you have fed your solitude.
To thank me for a patience...
I don't understand myself.
I just see something else,
I choose not to be near.
I only wish before you express bitterness...
To let me in!
But you are too quick to let anger slip from your lips.
And I am left alone to defend our relationship!
Do I need this?
Am I that much in love with you,
To feel I should remain patriotic and brave in combat?
Don't laugh.
I am serious.
You have me feeling like that at times.
Like I am walking through a minefield...
Prepared for ambush!
Whatever that is that occurs with you each month...
Needs to warn me that it is coming!
Even the pets...
They too refuse to come near you.
What can we do to improve upon 'the visit'...
When it comes again?
And, honey...
Is it possibe,
That you can give me a date and hour of its next arrival?

Wont Forget These Days
Late at night I switch on my radio
I sing myself a lullaby
I close my eyes and wait
Till the wind blows round the corner
Bringing back the memories to me, uhh yeah
Well we dreamed our lives, and we lived our dreams
Weve sacreficed our future for a heart of rockn roll
Wont forget these days
And I never thought I would
Wont forget these days,uhh i
Wont forget these days
And I never thought I would
Wont forget these days
Wont forget these days
Everybodys so important and they all wanna cheat you
Learn it by heart, right from the start
Bread is bread and you can even eat it
Count what youve sold but gold remains cold
Young boys take their dirty hands and swear
Nothing should come between us
But mostly it comes earlier, than anybody wants it

Close Your Eyes
I am walking the streets at night,
bathing myself in the moonlight,
watching others go about their business,
so many people living in the darkness,
but this is not a dark and colourless land,
for you must try and understand,
that here your thoughts are divine,
as every moment is frozen in time.
Close your eyes, forget your name,
for in darkness we’re all the same.
Close your eyes, then lose yourself,
for you’re the same as anyone else.
Close your eyes, release your past,
for the future is the one and only task.
Close your eyes, follow your soul,
as it will make you complete and whole.
I am lying awake in my bed,
thinking about what people have said,
words spoken in times of madness,
and held in anger and bitterness,
looking out of my bedroom window,
in to the darkness and the shadow,
seeing the mysterious world outside,
where normal people do not hide.
Close your eyes, untangle your heart,
so your emotions can just fall apart.
Close your eyes, lay yourself bare,
find the beauty to make everyone stare.
Close your eyes, fight your fear,
for everyone is safe in here.
Close your eyes, dream your reality,
then you’ll know what you could be.

Cringing Nerve-Tingling Machine
Ultimate pain – a psychotic psychopath suffering
from hysteric neurosis, xenophobia and agora-
phobia, loaded Microsoft Outlook on Government
computers, now these hypersensitive machines
are plagued with morbid fear and anxiety disorder
The screen shudders every time I type, the whole
spiel shuts down at the least indication of hard-
ware malfunction, email unstable, telling us it is
connected and when we press send, informs us
with shuddering angst the connection was lost
I feel like running down the street screaming
No No No No! until I have expressed all the
self-destructive feelings registered by this
cringing nerve-tingling machine!

The One That Opened Your Eyes
Look!
Here is the real deal.
Listen up.
Nothing...
Is going to return back to where it was.
Nothing...
Is going to be reset to a time,
When you found your life
Without direction, purpose or meaning.
You lived to feed a greed you fed!
That was it!
But 'nothing' is going to return,
For those days to be revisited!
It does not matter who wins to sit in what seat,
In what colored house!
And 'where' that house is located.
You got that?
That's called a reality check.
Forget what happened yesterday.
You are about to embark on a journey,
You will remember...
As the one that opened your eyes!

My Big Brother
You've always been here for me,
But now you are about to leave.
I know we fuss and fight,
But I love you with all my might.
You are my big brother,
And there is no other.
No one can take your place,
And when you leave, there will be this big empty space.
We've never been really close,
But at least you have not always lived across the coast.
Because some big brothers do,
I'm really grateful for the years I've lived with you.
I remember when I was small,
And I would always fall.
You were always there for me,
And I know you always will be.
You told me not to cry,
That it would be ok.
Even if I thought you lied,
It was like my big brother saved the day.
You’ve made me laugh, you’ve made me cry,
You've even helped me hide some lies.
I love you is something I don’t tell you enough,
But I want you to know
When you leave it will be really tough.
I don’t know how my life will be,
Without you here beside me.
You've lived with me for some years,
But now we're shedding our good-bye tears.
I know you have to move out,
And start a life of your own.
But promise me without a doubt,
You will never forget us back home.

Through a Barricaded Fence
When the carnival of carnage ceases.
And the pieces of self righteous egos...
Have been exposed as tremendously ignorant.
I hope forgiveness embraces and heals the pain.
And proves that needless suffering has no gains!
Nothing is obtained with a heightened greed,
And bitterness achieved!
The ultimate winners in all of this despair...
Are those 'deities' who are in control of the heavens,
Beholding the Moon and Sun.
And gently embracing our precious air!
When the carnival of carnage ceases...
And we all use our brains,
To become enlightened and aware.
We may look ourselves in the mirror!
And see the reflected images...
Of those barbaric beasts who stare!
That should end all fears.
When it becomes clear...
Who and what stupidity endears!
And not one of those faces,
Has a degree in common sense!
But all will gather with good intentions meant...
To discuss proudly,
Weapons used in self defense!
As they market freedom and peace...
While their priests molest the faithful.
As aliens of all kinds,
Are escorted right through a barricaded fence!
And one has to feel psychotic...
For making a choice to remain patriotic!

You Had Your Chance
Well its been a while
Since I looked into your eyes
Never dreamed Id see you tonight
And its interesting that i
Just dont feel a thing
For the so called love of my life
We used to be close
(but you didnt love me)
We used to be best friends
(but you never really cared)
I let you into my soul
(didnt know you couldnt be trusted)
It took me so long to forget
(all the little things we shared)
And now you want me back again
After my heartache and suffering
I was your fool
But thats all in the past
So sorry boy, but you had your chance
See, I spent so many sleepless nights
Trying to block you from my mind
I was so convinced
Id die without you once upon a time
Now my eyes are open and I can see
You were devious and shady
Only trifling with me
We used to be close
(but you didnt love me)
We used to be best friends
(but you never really cared)
I let you into my soul
(didnt know you couldnt be trusted)
It took me so long to forget
(all the little things we shared)
And now you want me back again
After my heartache and suffering
I was your fool
But thats all in the past
So sorry boy, but you had your chance
Where were you when I needed you most
Wouldve done anything to hold you close
Wouldve given the world to be back in your arms
But you left me so torn apart
And now you want me back again
After my heartache and suffering
I was your fool
But thats all in the past
So sorry boy, but you had your chance

Examining Fashion
As long as a shallowness is fed...
A caring for those who sacrifice their lives,
For a right to keep division instead...
Is the mindset of those gluttonous.
And they could care less who is dead.
As long as a hollowness is kept inside,
With demonic wishes to abide that bleeds...
Those of these empty victories,
Feed deceit and greed.
And empathy expressed from them,
Is an expression not connected to feelings felt,
At all.
Not unless they see someone slip and fall...
In a shopping mall!
And even then they are examining fashion!

Life Alone
How does one justify a life lived alone
How does one love if they have never been shown
A life lived alone is a life lived in vain
A life lived alone has very little to gain
Why would anyone choose to live this way
Why would anyone choose to be alone everyday
Is it living alone a shy reality to blame
Is it living alone yet another of societys shame
I stand here alone with a tear in my eye
I stand here alone and wish to understand why.

A singles life can have its moments of pleasure
But a family life is filled with memories to treasure
