Experts In Their Chosen Fields

Does it make much sense,
To prolong discussions in debate...
Over the purchase of horse drawn carriages,
By those hired to cut expenses.
When arguments focus upon,
The number of people that can be carried...
In the carriages per trip with payments made,
To then believe the horses...
Are unneccessary.
And to cut them out of the budget,
Would not be missed by those who trip!

Somehow the idea looks good on paper,
To those proposing this.
However...
To eliminate the most valued and needed ingredient,
To regard it as unimportant in the mix of things...
And to have others agree to it,
May be the basis as to why those appointed...
Should have never been considered as experts,
In their chosen fields of endeavor.
But they were selected for their effectiveness,
From others determined unqualified.

You've Selected Me For Your Trip?

You've selected me for your trip?
As if I'm going to make that easy,
For you to sit and do that with.
I don't know if I should be suspicious,
Or flattered by it all.
Whether or not I should take the scenic view...
Or leave you feeling quite appalled!

You've selected me for your trip?
Would you wish to reconsider,
Your decision to do this?

You must be out for adventure?
And someone told you I could provide?
But let me warn you before you strap in...
The roads I prefer to take,
Will shake you up a bit...
And offer a bumpy ride.

I'm use to it.
Although it's not detected,
In the smoothness of my glide.

You've selected me for your trip?
And even though I am amused by it.
I will suggest you research a bit.
Because what you think will be a common undertaking...
Might actually leave you vomiting in fits!
In a heartbreaking display.
And I may enjoy the act of getting you sick.
If you keep determined,
I am the one to provide your fun...
Before you have a chance,
To go away...
Run!

Okay...
Ready?
Enjoy!

'You are mad! '

Please...
Do not begin with flattery!
I am more accustomed to the sounds of screams.

Holding Onto The Reins

Easy it becomes to discredit and despise,
A thought process from one that is done.
If the process is committed to reveal outcomes.
And if those outcomes stated,
Become a cause for others to debate...
With a seeking of a way,
To label those statements created...
Crazed.
And initiated by someone who is inebriated.
Exhilarated by an addiction of ego.

Only time will find the ones debating,
With nothing left to say.
Observations deliberatedly overlooked...
Often haunts,
The status quo with a dismay that daunts.

A way of life assumed to be lived...
Rarely escapes from becoming outdated.
And if not lived on a daily basis,
Offends those attempting to keep it unchanged.

And the ones who have chosen to acknowledge this,
Seem not to defend a lack of acceptance.
Since there is no apparent reason to prove an intoxication.
Knowing how difficult it is to convince,
Those accustomed to riding in horse drawn carriages...
There can be a smoother ride had by all,
By an updating of their vehicles now pulled by engines.
To roll upon air inflated tires.
Many electrified and others simply using the adding of gas.

Some have their grasp on the past so tight,
They keep beliefs with wishes kept...
That those who wish to usher them into the light,
Are those too jealous to admit they are envious...
Of those holding onto the reins of the horses they guide.

Skip Your Trip

Skip your trip.
And admit to it.
Just seal your lips.
And listen a bit.
Skip your trip...
And listen to what's been said.

It's okay to make mistakes.
People have done that everyday.
But it's not okay...
Just to turn and walk away.

It's okay to make mistakes.
People have done that everyday.
But it's not okay...
To believe your way is 'the' way.

Skip your trip.
And admit to it.
Just seal your lips.
And listen a bit.
Skip your trip...
And listen to what's been said.

No one has to disrespect,
An opinion that they don't accept.
Because it's something they wish not to hear.

No one has to get upset.
To later find they have regrets.
When all they had to do is comprehend.
And everybody says that this is wished.
But patience slips from them real quick.
And brooding attitudes are left to share.
Everywhere the frowns are there.

Skip your trip.
And admit to it.
Just seal your lips.
And listen a bit.
Skip your trip...
And listen to what's been said.

Skip your trip.
And listen up a bit!
Skip your trip.
And listen up a bit!
Skip your trip.
And use your head instead!

Oh...
Skip your trip.
And listen up a bit!
Skip your trip.
And listen up a bit!
Skip your trip.
And use your head instead!

Why You Wanna Trip On Me

They Say I'm Different
They Don't Understand
But There's A Bigger Problem
That's Much More In Demand
You Got World Hunger
Not Enough To Eat
So There's Really No Time
To Be Trippin' On Me

You Got School Teachers
Who Don't Wanna Teach
You Got Grown People
Who Can't Write Or Read
You Got Strange Diseases
Ah But There's No Cure
You Got Many Doctors
That Aren't So Sure
So Tell Me

Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Stop Trippin'

We've Got More Problems
Than We'll Ever Need
You Got Gang Violence
And Bloodshed On The Street
You Got Homeless People
With No Food To Eat
With No Clothes On Their Back
And No Shoes For Their Feet

We've Got Drug Addiction
In The Minds Of The Weak
We've Got So Much Corruption
Police Brutality
We've Got Streetwalkers
Walkin' Into Darkness
Tell Me
What Are We Doin'

To Try To Stop This

Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Ooh Stop Trippin'
Yeah Stop Trippin'
Everybody Just Stop Trippin'

Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Stop Trippin'

Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Why You Wanna Trip On Me
Ooh Stop Trippin'
Yeah Stop Trippin'

Stop Trippin'

Stop Trippin'

(Can't You) Trip Like I Do

I've got the understanding of a 4-year-old
I've got the piece of mind of a killer soul
I've got the rationale of a new york cop
I've got the patience of a chopping block yeah
trip like I do
trip like I do (oh my god this is the best)
I've got the acumen of a season broke
I've got the lack of say of a billion souls
I've got the world on my back but I don't seem to care
I've got the comprehension of a world unaware yeah
trip like i do
trip like I do (oh my god this is the best)
trip like i do (mm..i want you to trip like i do)
can't you, can't you trip like i do
can't you, can't you trip like I do
laid down my back i can't sleep cause I'm falling
eyes in my teeth i can't see cause i'm eating
head full of noise I can't think cause it's crushing
back on my feet like a freight train I'm coming
can everybody feel like I do
can everybody feel like I do (oh my god)
can't you can't you trip like I do
can't you can't you trip like I do (oh my god)
can't you trip can't you think can't you feel like I do

Steam Dreams

In this day of electric and diesel, very rarely is seen,
A shining locomotive, which is powered by steam.
Back in the days, when my parents were born,
The sight of a steam train was quite the norm.

Whenever a steam train catches my eye,
I stand, watching in awe, as it passes by.
‘Oh wow! Look! ’ I say, as I point a finger,
And the memory of it in my mind will linger.

Steam trains will never completely die out,
As, thankfully, there’s still quite a few about.
About a steam train, there’s something really quite dramatic.
And at the chance of riding on one, people are often ecstatic.

I remember seeing The Flying Scotsman at Salisbury station,
And I stood there marvelling at it with such great admiration.
The engine and all of its carriages just looked so smart.
The sight of such a train, never fails to quicken the heart.

Steam trains are so very elegant in their style.
To spot one, enthusiasts will travel many a mile.
It strange to think that years ago, they were all the rage,
When, they are such a very rare sight, in this day and age.

The sight of the world famous Orient Express,
Is one which will never ever fail to impress.
Through the windows, you can see the plush seats,
Where excited passengers will sit down and eat.

On board, the historic carriages of brown and cream,
They serve expensive champagne and gourmet cuisine.
Sat in a world of pure indulgence, passengers glide,
Through the green and pleasant British countryside.

The carriages have all been restored to their former glory;
If they could talk, I’m sure they could all share quite a story.
The carriages have been described as ‘palaces on wheels’,
And I would really love to know just how that feels.

Still being a very rare sight in these modern times,
I fancy taking a trip on a steam train, to sit and dine.
I guess you would have to pay quite a princely sum,
But I think it would be worth it, just to travel on one.

Stalking Storks

You are 'still' embarrassed
By open discussions regarding sex?
Although you condone violence
That is created without debate...
Marketed and sold to incite riots.

All of us have been fucked up!
Screwed by some form of love connection made.
However that is termed to keep you from squirming.

Two or more people got together,
To get you here.
By doing the 'nasty'.
Not by stalking storks,
To inquire about delivery dates.
And these realities are traumatic to our children,
Once they are called into battle on the killing fields.
Wherever and whenever it has been determined
Our 'interests' have been threatened and violated!
Like a rape of our senses long distorted!
'Storm Petrels' would have been better qualified,
If chosen to occupy that position!
We would be better prepared.

A Lifetime of Peace

Be suspicious of anyone offering,
A lifetime of peace...
For low monthly payments.
And you have been selected,
Because of a favorable credit standing.
And you should feel both proud and envied,
To be have been chosen in such a manner.
And...
All payments are tax deductible.
With an option to have them made directly,
From checking or saving accounts.

Casting One's Own Shadow

Call your trip whatever you wish.
I've learned not to debate, argue...
Or 'franchise' anyone's opinion,
As if to make mine!
Nor do I agree to evaluate...
Someone's statement,
Whether a line given to solicit...
An opinion I've given in anything I've written.

I've learned an exchange of experiences,
Is not a possibility.
And I've learned this by listening.
And this many people seldom do.

I've been up and down too many times,
To discover my own comprehension...
About life.
My life and how 'my' life is connected.

When I found criticisms made of me by others...
'Added' to my understanding,
If right, wrong or indifferent when given...
I still had to brush my own teeth.
Walk on my own two feet!
And be accountable for my own actions.

I stopped making excuses,
When they began not to make sense to me.
I spent more time defending myself...
Instead of living my life.
And I began to do that...
When I started to appreciate myself.

And 'if' I was to give my advice to anyone...
AND...
I did say 'if'.
I would say this...
If anyone finds they are seeking acceptance,
On a path they have chosen to take...
It is not a path they have chosen.
How can it be?

How can someone declare something theirs,
When others can do the same thing thing?
If voices can be heard?
Footprints can be seen?
And the path one takes has already been paved?
That is following...
Not casting,
One's own shadow!

I do not wish,
I demand people to get out of my light.
What would be the point,
If I am patiently waiting for someone else to decide...
Whether or not they want to move out of it?
That kind of time I am not giving to anyone!
Period.

I've learned many lessons.

Ancient Recall

Ancient days that are all gone
I never had the chance to look upon.
I've heard of them.
I've read of them.
So why do I feel drawn
to these ancient times
That I do not know?
They are fascinating
and I can't let them go.

Days of horse-drawn carriages
and dresses that reach to the floor,
Nights lit up by lanterns,
Seclusion near a sycamore,
Music played by string quartets,
beautiful music by four.
I visualize all these things.
Have I lived this life before?

Somewhere from this vast universe
I hear a somber voice.
It speaks to me in sad remembrance
and says to me 'Rejoice.
All the days were your choice.
Enjoy them as you did in the past
for these too shall not last.
You will be drawn some day to them,
fascinated once more
by days that you'll call ancient,
ancient days of yore.'

Take A Little Trip

If we could leave this big old city
And head back for the cabin we loved back deep in the woods
Whoa baby we would
If we could jump in some big old jet plane & head for the islands
Where the weather is always good
Oh dont you know we would
Well we cant do this & we cant do that
But baby we can stay right where were at
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little time leave it all behind
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
We could go downtown to a nightclub
And dance to the rythm of the music on that old hardwood
Whoa baby we could
We could call up rita & bobby
And see what theyre doing tonight & maybe play some rook
Yeah baby we could
Yeah now we can do this or we can do that
Or baby we can stay right where were at
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little time leave it all behind
Take a little trip you and me out of sight
Pull down the shades turn out the lights
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little trip me and you out of sight
Pull down the shades turn out the lights
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Who hoo hoo

Who hoo hoo

On A Famed Poet

Forgive me if his greatness I cannot seem to note
His poems never rhyme but he is a famed poet
By literary experts considered to be knowledgeable and wise
And for his poems he has won many a prize.

Though poetry is not very popular today
The poet of the poetry lovers the experts do say
In University literary magazines students his verses read
And they all agree he's a fine poet indeed.

Of poets and poetry I must confess so little I know
My favourites old rhymers from ages ago
On the poetry I do not like most experts agree
That it is well written and quite good poetry.

Forgive me if the worth in his verse I can't see
His non rhyming poetry does nothing for me
Of reading blank verse I do quickly grow tired
My truth is by such stuff I do not feel inspired.

The experts on his poetry great interest show
And his stature as a poet only seems to grow
Of him great things are written and great things we hear
And good luck to him on his literary career.

Horses In The City

they walk the horses home at night right by my
window they pull their carriages along busy city
streets it's from another time it's like a lullaby but i
don't think that i can sleep tonight so i count the
streetlights i count the stars i make a wish and
wonder where you are i wonder if i'll live long
enough to feel again help me 'cause i'm falling out
of grace i hang my head and hide my face i don't
know what it is i just feel out of place like horses in
the city i played the game i dropped the ball i lost
another friend i gained a future but i can't see
where the future ends i'd write a letter or write a
song but once again my voice just comes out
wrong i wonder if i'll live long enough to sing again
but they don't seem frightened as the cars go
speeding by so why am i so terrified to close my
eyes tonight i'm just afraid there's no time no time
this time they walk the horses home at night right
by my window they pull their carriages along busy
city streets i wonder if they'll live to run without the
reins again

An Opportunity Glares With No Preferences There

Unable to agree or compromise,
On what values and standards...
Should be left in a past,
Where all of our ancestors thrived.
Are those positioning themselves to delay...
The seriousness of what is needed today,
To uplift and move humanity forward...
In a less thieving,
Greeding to deceive leaving grief kind of way.
And promising with all of us,
To visit with a permanent stay!

That a world economy has dictated...
A bust from a boom...
Heads directly our way.
There are those on their knees still praying...
To awaken to see,
Horse drawn carriages on cobbledstoned streets.

Unable to agree or compromise,
What values and standards...
Should be left in a past,
Where all of our ancestors thrived and survived,
When gaslamps on poles lit the night skies.
May be a political ploy to get dwindling votes,
Some stubborned folks...
Believe will keep them praised in adoring eyes.

But...
Enjoying titles along with prestige,
Will not prevent the reality of circumstances...
Coming quicker to them than their fantasies can be released.
With decisions to make to let go of pretensions.
While an opportunity glares...
With no preferences there,
For anyone to preach or hesitate in debating long speeches...
Which choices are better,
Than the ones they should not keep!

They lied a fear and loathing
A chosen one it's so undone
Load your gun the damage done
Never me they will fail to see
I will get so high that I trip...
Apathy and a bitter me I will fail to see
That he walks among us
So what save it for your own
Are you happy man I am
Watch me fly I'm Superman
It's such a bore when I'm bringin' down that horse
Just let me bleed one more just one more
It's such a shame that it is this way
I'm a junkie God is gay
Hate to bleed but it heals my pain
Whatever man never never never never

Push to school

I am made to rush and pushed to school
Parents want to make intelligent man from fool
they have different idea about their children
The school is the best idea o prefer often

There is nothing wrong if that is tan age old perception
It was carried on since long from the inception
It continued for their forefathers till day
This was the only option to find reasonable way

Children needed to pick up nice group
The confidence remains high and up
So much to learn from fellow friends
Vow to remain together till the end

Teachers often offer best and certainly part
Best of the education right from the start
There may be some problems with instruments
Yet enough care is taken for improvement

What someone not picks is the real intention?
There may be diversion in mind with no retention
Life may be thought over from different angle
Mind skips from all activities and run towards jungle

If I have to spell about myself then it will be justice
I may try to know and reveal to parents as promise
As it was just a burden to carry with expenses
They were yet willing to part with some good sense

I was to become only revival for their hope
After me there was nothing but only full stop
If I could make nothing then it was to spell disaster
There was nothing more seen beyond that or after

I too had thought endlessly in this regard
It was only means to stay firm and look forward
Life had taught me many things from an early age
I was to stand by them and encourage

Those days just invade mind
The heaven was seen and teachers were kind
Who could nourish us mentally for life struggle?
As life was not to pose or threaten with problems

It was not mere four walls structure
But tall tower for coming future
We all were to look towards sky
To keep wings open and ready to fly

And like a trip to the sky;
But the flood waters came onto the earth! !
However, strive to make the best out of yourself.

Family matters,
And like a trip to the moon;
But stay away from the windows because of the gunfire! !
And, strive to be a responsible person in life.
