Comments Ignored Like Yours In Small Hometowns

You act like you don't know 'nobody'.
Walking around all arrogant.
Like you own the sidewalk!

Sidewalk Talk

Watch where you walk 'cause the sidewalks talk
And you can't keep a secret from the ground beneath you
Step very lightly on the earth below
Or before you know it everyone will know
Streets were paved with a thousand eyes
And try as you may you can't disguise
There's only two things that you can't hide from
That's you and the ground you're walking on
Chorus:
Watch where you walk, 'cause the sidewalks talk
You better watch what you do, what you do
'cause the sidewalk talk can get carried away
You better watch what you say, what you say
Think when you speak 'cause you gotta 'long the street
They can read what you say so you gotta stay away
From words that sting, words are not true
And the things you say make a fool of you
Little white lies make the sidewalk cry
And you can betray with the things you say
Words won't last when you say 'em too fast
And you've been mislead by the things you've said
(chorus)
Intermediate:
When you're living on the street
Life can be full of misery
Find a place to call your own
Make your heart into a home
You can do it, uh huh
(repeat 3 times)
You can do it
After every word there's a place that heard
Every time your shoe hits the avenue
And when you've gone they'll sing a song
Of the stories you told when you felt so bold
You better think twice when you cross the ice
Everything you do comes back to you
When you're shedding a tear sidewalks will hear
When your laughter's true they'll run with you
(chorus)
(intermediate)
You can do it, uh huh
(repeat 3 times)
You can do it
(repeat 3 times)
(chorus)
Sidewalk talk
(repeat 3 times)
Let me tell ya 'bout sidewalk talk
Sidewalk talk
Sidewalk talk
Sidewalk talk
(repeat)
Watch out for sidewalk talk
Sidewalk talk
Sidewalk talk
Sidewalk talk
Let me tell ya 'bout
Let me tell ya 'bout
Let me tell ya 'bout
Let me tell ya 'bout sidewalk talk

I Wrote A Poem Across The Universe

I wrote a poem across the Universe
It was read among the stars-
Cosmic messages were sent endlessly reinterpreting it-
It appeared in Galactic anthologies
And whole Civilizations taught it in their schools-
Worlds were born with it and worlds lamented their dying with it-
It became the Text of the Text of the Text of the Text of the Text
Of cosmic intergalactic meaningfulness-

I wrote a poem across the Universe-
It was read for billions of years
And then somehow
No attention was paid to it anymore-
And it vanished for as long as forever can be understood to be.

Where The Sidewalk Ends

Where the sidewalk ends
And the road begins
We said good bye
On a cold dark night
Im not afraid to go
You bet Im not
Where the sidewalk ends
You left a lot
Some people leave
And never come back
Some stay in touch
Some loose track
Your mind kept sayin
Come on lets go
You started learnin
What you dont need to know
Where the sidewalk ends
And the road begins
Ill wait for you
In the cold dark night
You might come back
You had to go
Where the sidewalk ends
Ill never know
Hide from the future
Run from the past
I guess Ill stay here
As long as I can last
Whistle still blowin
But the train is gone
Aint no wheels
Gonna take me from my home
Where the sidewalk ends
And the road begins
We said good bye
On a cold dark night
Im not afraid to go
You bet Im not
Where the sidewalk ends
You left a lot
Im not afraid to go
You bet Im not
Where the sidewalk ends
You left a lot
Where the sidewalk ends
And the road begins
We said good bye
On a cold dark night
Im not afraid to go
You bet Im not
Where the sidewalk ends
You left a lot
Where the sidewalk ends
You left a lot
Where the sidewalk ends
You left a lot

Another Harrys Bar

Wet wind on the sidewalk: Im staring at the rain.
Walking up the street, yeah, and walking down again.
And my feet are tired and my brain is numb.
See that broken neon sign saying, hey, in you come.
Got the scent of stale beer hanging, hanging round my head.
Old dog in the corner sleeping like he could be dead.
A book of matches and a full ashtray.
Cigarette left smoking its life away.
Another harrys bar -- or thats the tale they tell.
But harrys long gone now, and the customers as well.
Me and the dog and the ghost of harry will make this world turn right.
Itll all turn right.
Gods tears on the sidewalk: its the mother of all rain.
But in the thick blue haze of harrys, you will feel no pain.
And you will feel no soft hand slipping on your knee.
You dont have to pay for memories, they will all come free.
Another harrys bar -- or thats the tale they tell.
But harrys long gone now, and the customers as well.
Me and the dog and the ghost of harry will make this world turn right.
Itll all turn right.
Now when harry was a young man, harry was so debonair.
He walked a bouncy step in his shiny shoes.
And when harry was a young man, well, harry could walk on air.
He mixed a mean cocktail and he talked you through the late news.
You want to hear some great news?
Harrys still here.
Wet wind on the sidewalk: Im still staring at the rain.
Walking up the street, and Im walking down again.
And my feet are tired and my brain is numb.
See that broken neon sign saying, hey, in you come.
Another harrys bar -- or thats the tale they tell.
But harrys long gone now, and the customers as well.
Me and the dog and the ghost of harry will make this world turn right.
Itll all turn right.
Another harrys bar.
And another harrys bar.
And another, and another harrys bar.

Walking

Walking on a cold frosty morn
Gloves and scarf on me adorn.

Walking in the crisp fresh snow
Making my nose all aglow.

Walking up in the hills
Waterproofs on, to keep out the chills.

Walking down in the dales
Up in the sky see all the contrails.

Walking down along the field
Looking at what it has to yield.

Walking in the summer sun
When the day is nearly done.

Walking down the stony lane
Writing keeps me quite sane.

Walking shoes, boots and feet
All traipsing down the street.

Walking along full of emotion
Scribbling with a vague notion.

Walking in the evening shade
Watching daylight start to fade.

Sidewalk Of Despair

If you chance to walk along
the sidewalk of despair
you will always find
a great many people there.

They are walking with heads bowed
as if in some great shame,
but they are only there
because their world is gone.

Some walk with money problems
so deep they figure they cannot get out;
others walk with heartaches
as their love has gone away.

Whatever the reason
they walk alone
unable to find an answer
along the sidewalk of despair.

Never preach a sermon without a text from the Bible, a text containing the theme which you can elaborate. The text is the best proof in support of your argument. A sermon without a text is an argument without a proof.

The Folk Man

The folk man makes beautiful music everyday when
He plays the guitar in the streets and he gets $ 90.00/ day for his Singing
And the money is given to him by the strangers that are walking on the Sidewalk where he plays his guitar
And the strangers that walk in the sidewalk goes crazy for his music
His music leaves people breathless
And the folk man got the gift of music from God

A Confession

Her heart an open book
Easy to read
Emotions bald for all to observe
A confession to the one
Who denied her soul
As she read his text
Weigh heavy on chest
Squeezing the life from her faint heart
He could not read between the lines
How sincere her words
Until it was too late
Reading the diaries of a broken heart

Text

I text you
The words i mime
There is really no reason or rhyme
To persist after all this time
But can't resist as my love still stands
Clings to hope with two bleeding hands
And when i ask 'am i still in your heart'
You depress with your silence
And depart.
I text her
And sometimes for days
She leaves me in deepest malaise
Then answers when my last nerve end frays.
And the light that i saw in her eye
Gently flickers and threatens to die
As my memory, tired and vexed
Sees me through
'Til she sends the next text.
I text you
Think maybe you care
That some day or year we will share
our one love extraordinaire
But time eats away at our life
Cutting with razor sharp knife
And our old dream of husband and wife
Faces the gallows next
Yet absurdly i send you a text.

Child Come Away

Written by ricky & marty wilde
Child come away
Its the girl with the deputy walking by
Child go and play
No I wont give you reasons so dont ask why
I read the story about a week ago
They found her on the beach that night
They thought the light had gone out of her eyes
And no-one thinks shell ever be right
She was so full of her life
Happy with the people she knew
But then no-one can tell
Child come away
Its the girl with the deputy walking by
Child go and play
No I wont give you reasons so dont ask why
Guess all they found were some marks in the sand
A message saying she is mine
Nobody touched her as she got in the car
Well nobody dares to anytime
She was so full of her life
The girl that everybody once knew
But now no-one can tell
Child come away
Its the girl with the deputy walking by
Child go and play
No I wont give you reasons so dont ask why
And when they read a story out to the judge
I heard they had to turn away
Its all over town
I saw her face in the back of a car
As they were speeding out of town
Shes got a mark on the side of her face
That no-ones ever seen around
And what she is or what shes become
I guess the town will never know
Child come away
Its the girl with the deputy walking by
Child go and play
No I wont give you reasons so dont ask why

She called me a bitch

Last night I got an email
From one of my dedicated reading fans
A poetic reader and writer of a woman

She called me an arrogant bitch
I called her an old ugly witch
Which is which?

I wish she had read my poem entitled
'You are not intelligent enough'
Give praise to where its due
To her I spelt it out in black and blue
If you cannot distinguish
Between reality and fiction
Remove those old restrictions
From your brain, send them out
With a letter of eviction

Yes I am a bitch
Read my poem entitled “Bitch' Mrs. Bitch
You want from me sweet words
In response, to your sarcastic ones, Mrs. Bitch
You must be joking, stop me from choking
And In my simple honesty

She called me an arrogant bitch
I called her an old hideous witch
Now she doesn’t know anymore,
Which is which?

Dont

Walking round this metropolis
With its buildings that reach to the clouds
There must be millions of people out there
Walking round with their heads bowed
This city kills me, but it thrills me
Now somethings gone and held up the crowd
Theyre pointing at a man standing high on a ledge
And somebody just cried out loud
Dont look down at the people below, oh
Dont look down
Its a long way to fall and Id sure like to know
What made it happen, sure makes you think
Must have been something special
To send him to the brink
Down here on the sidewalk, hes clearly in view
Then a voice shouts up to him
Try thinking it through but whatever you do
Chorus:
Dont look down
At the people below, oh
Dont look down, things might start looking up
You just never know
Hes heard the cries of the lunatics facing defeat
The cheers of the winners
Who are dancing in the street
Perhaps the crime and corruption finally got through
And the violence of the city
Just broke him in two
Now a voice from the queue shouts
Chorus
Dont look down, dont look down
Down here on the sidewalk
Its stopped all our lives
People are talking instead of just walking by
Before this happened it was just another day
Now people are talking instead of walking away
Now were gripped by this tragedy
Our blood starts to pump as we all shout together
Dont jump, dont jump
Chorus
Dont look down, we all shouted out, oh
Dont look down
Its a long way to fall and Id sure like to know
What made it happen, guess well never know
Now the suns come out
Looks like hes standing on a rainbow
Hes in the heavens, Im standing on the ground
Saying dont look down

Rednecks

Rednecks
Long time ago when a man called Goldwater was
running for president, I was walking along a road
just outside Mobile, Alabama. What I was doing
there is long forgotten but I recall having a day off
from my ship, and going from bar to bar.

I did notice that the sidewalk was weedy clearly
people did no walking. A pickup truck stopped,
three burley men wanted to give me a lift, dared
not refuse they had gun racks and armed for civil
war that steadfastly refused to appear.

They asked me about Goldwater whom I had read
about in “Newsweek” but I stated ignorance.
They drove me back to Mobile and I assured them
I loved America; gave me a six-pack, warned me
not to speak to black people and commies.

I was told they were rednecks; which I know see
as sort of countryside workers with broken cars
in the front yard. They did look like the men who
bullied and broke shop windows, own by Jewish
shopkeepers, before the last world war two.
