Blocked Without You Stopping It

You witness your digressions,
And will not admit they actually exist.
You ask for outside protection...
For situations that continue to persist.

You gather sympathy from groups,
To loudly protest your despairing unrest!
And not admitting with an acknowledgement,
You put them there...
So what do you expect?

A magician dressed...
In outfits of holiness?
A dope smoking Pope,
To share with you false hope?

A candycane taste,
To erase a bitterness that aches?
Or stop all traffic,
For a freedom to declare...
Your overbearing heartbreak?

This one thing is very clear...
What has been allowed will not dsappear.
However that anguish got inside your head,
With your approving eyes observing...
Got stuck between your ears.
Got blocked without you stopping it.
And nothing you heard,
Even shouted from rooftops...
You 'still' refuse to hear!

tune for the poparazzi
this is a tune the poparazzi
the who's who and the so and so's
this is a tune for the graven images of marilyn monroe
we saw your face on the magazine
we heard the song on the mp3
you're stuck in my head
stuck in my head
stuck in my head
you can close your ears and your eyes
but the pop will never leave you alone
tune for the poparazzi
leave me alone
with your social lingo
you try so hard to stay on top
leave me alone
with your little jingle
with your picture perfect pop
we read the article in seventeen
we saw the video on mtv
you're stuck in my head
stuck in my head
stuck in my head
you can close your ears and your eyes
but the pop will never leave you alone

now everyone is singing along with your ridiculous song

The Other Ones Will Never Get It Right

There are those who are not religious zealots,
Of moralistic stances.
To allow the grass to be trashed.
And walk past it.
Nor are they responsible,
For garbage tossed on concrete city streets.
Where steeples rise where those inside,
Pray and claim to hear God to them speak.

Many can be found observing the insanity,
Excused and ignored.
Perhaps by some adored!
As a consciousness like this seems sick.
And can not be accepted,
By those who chase this havoc away.
To prevent it at their doorsteps.

And like them,
I too could care less...
About what others do without a word of protest.
And if some find a decline is worthy of praise...
Why should they get upset,
That a few refuse to digest this mess.
Like the endorsements of relationships enforced...
When clearly a divorce from these situations diseased,
Has been the choice that has been sought!

'Will those with minds of clarity...
No need to get uptight!
Continue to do what it is that is done.
The other ones will never get it right! '

This Is Going To Be A Long Ride

My observations are never premeditated.
With a plan to only accept that which I believe.
I experience a witnessing,
As a student willing to learn.
I take notes whether mental or written.
And free myself from regurgitating quotes,
To whisper into ears to then leave.

I'm not like that.

What I describe is viewed with my eyes.
And what I hear is seldom my own sentiments.
Although when I see something that should be clear,
But to others it is not as it appears...
I wonder when my delusions have ended.
And how many conscious aren't aware when they start.

I'm not like that either.

Could we all be confused,
And refuse to accept we've been abused and neglected...
By our own delusions?
Could we all be wishing what we witness isn't what it is.
To admit what is does exist without the benefit of our wishes?
Could my observations perceived as not being premeditated,
Be, in fact, a comforting of a trap...
My mind extends to enhance my comprehension?

Or...
Could I just be needing rest and have yet to confess,
I can use as much of it as I can get?

'Yes! '

I'm sorry.
I am having a personal self assessment.
Am I disturbing you?

'Yes.
I am hoping your 'self-assessment'...
Soon ends as to not to further prolong,
My 'already' too long bus ride.
But who knows...
Maybe I am confused AND deluded! '

I apologize.
I didn't realize I was speaking that loudly.

'No problem.
I do the same thing myself.
At home.
Alone.
When I'm seeking an intelligent conversation.'

Oh.
I agree with you.
This is going to be a long ride.

Traffic Jam

Carbon monoxide
Making me choke
No a.c.
And the radios broke
Cars backed up
Far as you can see
Seems like Ive been waiting here for all eternity
Oh, and just in case youre wondering
Ill tell you where I am
Im right here (right here) right here (right here)
Stuck right here in the middle of this...
Traffic jam
I havent moved one inch from this here spot
Traffic jam
The freeways one big parking lot
Traffic jam
My radiators boiling hot
And Im stuck right here in the middle (right here in the middle)
Right here in the middle of a traffic jam
Trapped inside
My automobile
Cobwebs gowin
On the steerin wheel
Now, Im no genius
But one thing I know
I shouldnt have had that bag of bran muffins
An hour and a half ago
Yeah, and if you need to find me
Ill tell you where I am
Im right here (right here) right here (right here)
Stuck smack dab in the middle of this...
Traffic jam
I havent moved one inch from this here spot
Traffic jam
The freeways one big parking lot
Traffic jam
Well, I thought we were movin but I guess were not
cause Im stuck right here in the middle (right here in the middle)
Right here in the middle of a traffic jam
Stuck in the middle of a traffic jam
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Bumper to bumper to bumper to bumper to
Bumper to bumper to bumper to bumper to
Bumper to bumper to bumper to bumper...
Yay-hey!
Theres a yuppie on a cellular phone
Im gonna puke if I here any more
Theres a motorcycle zoomin by me
Watch what happens when I open my door
Now were all goin nowhere fast
Well, I guess thats perfectly clear
I left home five hours ago
And I can still see my house from here
So if anybodys tryin to find me
Well, Ill tell you where I am
Right here (right here) right here (right here)
Stuck right here in the middle of this...
Traffic jam
I havent moved one inch from this here spot
Traffic jam
The freeways one big parking lot
Traffic jam
Now my back teeth are floatin and my nerves are shot
And Im stuck right here in the middle (right here in the middle)
Stuck right here in the middle of a traffic jam
Traffic jam... traffic jam... traffic jam... woo!

I Wait For You

Each time I'm on the boulevard
You're there with me, walk by my side
But talk to me you'd never do
A thing I would expect of you

When in a movie house I sit
I'm not alone, to me you're next
I never, never taste your lips
Although I hunger for your kiss

In 'heartbreak cafe', site of our trysts
I dine alone, for you I wait
You would not come, you I would miss
Until it's time for me to leave

On my way home at the bus stop
I'll wait a while and there stand
Hoping of you I'll have a glimpse
But the buses just come and leave
I will not have the sight of you
Sad with frustration I would go

It's really hard to make believe
That in my world you still exist
Shall I forever hope and wait
How long shall I myself deceive

... Dust

If only dust could talk
What would we hear it say?
Before it's brushed aside
Just as it's swept away
It's just the evidence
It's of no consequence
It's only flesh and bone
Why don't we leave it alone?
If only dust could gather into lines of chalk
Around a silhouette detective fiction walks
For it's the only witness that can testify
Can I spit out the truth?
Or would you rather just swallow a lie?
Why did they dam the land?
How did they flood the plain?
Did they erase the name?
And wipe away the stain
You kept your mouth well shut
Appeared to turn your coat
Now there's a name for you but it's stuck in my throat
If dust could only mutter
Or in laughter trill
If it could warn and whisper from the windowsill
But it's the only witness that can testify
Can I split out the truth?
Or would you rather just swallow a lie?
Here comes the juggernaut
Here come The Poisoners
They choke the life and land
And rob the joy from us
Why do they taste of sugar?
Oh, when they're made of money
Here come the Lamb of God
And the butcher's boy, sonny
If dust could only gather in the needle track
Then it would skip a beat and it would jump right back
If dust could only gather in a needle track
Then it would skip a beat
And all the sense I lack

Stubborn Poses

Holding a firm grip,
Onto bitterness and anguish...
From times now that do not exist.
Is something people do!
Why do you choose that to be you?

Schoolyard games and childish antics...
Have many still inviting,
These conflicts in their minds...
To persist and rewind.

Hoping to find themselves validated...
By anyone who has replaced,
A forward movement...
With a backward pace.
Just to appease a waste to accomodate.
Regardless of the foolishness this creates.

And there are those
Who choose to stay in their ruts...
Stuck!
In such outdated...
Mindless stubborn poses!

Magician

He said
You will look right into my eyes
Repeat every word that I say
You want some magic in your life
My love is the only way
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
His body moves behind my eyes
Obsession grows
Its a private show
Magic man with a sleight of hand
Disappearing right into my soul
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
Whoaa whoaa ohh
Hes here again
That magic man
My eyes wont turn away
Just like magnets pull me in
I cant forget his face
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
Whoaa whoaa ohh
Whoaa whoaa ohh
I walk right up and said
Take me take me take me
No pride no shame, enchanted
Call it a dream but dont wake me
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
No matter how fast he goes
Feels like slow motion
Hypnotize me frame by frame
Caught in my own dream paradise frozen
Magician
Magician
Ohh magician
Magician
Whoaaa ohhh

Truth Will Provide An Undoing With Proof

One accused and abused by false allegations made...
Can not today walk away from them,
Without suspicion of admitting guilt.
Or believe from an evil one can leave unscathed.

And if one fights those accusing...
Who have defamed with a character assassination,
It is thought one seeks an attention to be given...
To protect an integrity one hopes doesn't fade.

What is the best thing that one should do?
Stand aside to witness what God does and proves,
To bring torment to those of evil minds...
With a doing that confines them to grief everytime.

What is the best thing that one should do?
Keep faith and remain on the side of truth.
With an acknowledgement one day,
Truth will provide an undoing with proof.

I Do Admit This

I must admit,
I've gone through several personality shifts...
During my lifetime.
Finding those adjustments not so easy to take.
But glad that God took the time with me,
To make those growth periods...
Ones I now appreciate.

I must admit,
I've had great teachers.
Several I did not meet in classrooms either.
I've had close relationships with those,
Who taught me lessons to keep.

I must admit,
I miss my grandparents and parents.
Ex-wives and tight friends who in my life,
And in my mind....
Will always exist.
It seems those who were most interested in me,
Are gone.
And for some reason what they taught,
Has left me powerfully strong.

And I do admit this...
So much of their presence lives within me.
I feel them surrounding me constantly.
Whether this is memory or actual occurrence.
I must admit,
They've assisted in my endurance.
Leaving me to know I am blessed!
And admitting to myself,
What they have left has allowed my happiness.

I would not be able to live,
Without this admitted.

Being a Fool Is Easier

Those words may not always be there to say,
What feelings felt in moments bring.
And finding in my mind what my heart knows best...
Sometimes from my lips are not there to confess.

I am not trained to disconnect,
From sensitivities I don't expect.
I am not trained to just neglect...
My eyes from impressions.
Or my ears from remembered lessons.

I choose to move in forward steps.
Sweeping away experiences...
I have yet to perfect.

What I do is done with a truth I pursue.
Making excuses for myself I refuse to do.
And admitting this is not difficult.
Since I will be the first to say...
Being a fool is easier.
Than to hide and have someone decide,
If I am trying to hard to say what's inside.

Is Your Smile a Clue?

I am not here because there is nothing else to do.
I am here because of you...
Wanting to be near.
Knowing you do not have fears to become your best!
Your heart gives me a place to come to rest.
I feel connected.

I am not here to take but give.
I want us to share the lives we live.
There are rough edges...
And I am not that tough!
You can tell me when you have had enough.
And I will leave you with space...
But not too far to erase you from my heart.
There may be more growing up I must do.
Will you witness it with assistance?
If I insist and persist no one but you,
Can deliver to me this bliss!
I admit doing it will not seem complete...
Without you to approve.
Being in bliss alone...
Is not the bliss I would miss,
If it is not with us as one in it!

And I am not here,
Because there is nothing else to do.
I am here because of you...
Wanting to be near.
Wishing we not fear but endear one another.
Is your smile a clue,
You have thoughts like that too?

I'm Just Curious

Is it superficiality,
That makes some people believe...
An apology from them given to one person,
Should be gratefully received...
After many years of false accusations,
By them to another done to have others deceived.
While they expect a forgiveness from one to come.

Or...

'Is this hypothetical? '

Of course.
Or...
Should that one continue to sit and witness,
Those suffer from their own wickedness...
As they limp and whimper from ailments that exists?

'Your question is 'hypothetical', right? '

Of course it is.
Do you think I enjoy your pain and anguish,
Everytime I come to pay you a visit?

'Then why do you smile,
Each time I'm stricken with an ailment? '

I'm just curious.

In The Midst Of An Emergency

If the issues you have,
Only center around you and your way of life.
And how you have decided to live...
Why are your expectations as to how I should re-act,
With the knowing of that...
Should come to upset you with disappointment?

When was the last time you listened to anything I suggested?
And calling 911 to your home to taste an overbaked chicken,
I don't consider as being urgent.
I don't.
Maybe many others do.
But I don't.

And know this,
Your previous 'crisis' before that one...
Was, in fact, my last.
Especially when you expected me to cancel my dentist appointment.
To declare yourself to be in the midst of an emergency,
Only to admit a need to rush to the mall...
To purchase a pair of shoes you saw advertised on sale.

You don't realize just how petty and trivial the living of your life is,
Do you?
You don't realize at all others exist to experience more of life,
To witness...
Do you?
Who put that self importance in your head for it to clog?
Who did that to you?

A Bitter Word

I taste bitterness in my mouth
each time I hear the word war.
It's a taste that's born of compassion
from a word that's been heard before.
Too young they die
not knowing why.
Too young they leave
and as we grieve
I hear that word again.

I spit from the bitter taste of it
and it still won't go away.
It's the same old word that drives me mad
and reminds me every day
that man is pliable in the hands
of ones whose insatiable need
never tastes bitterness in their mouth
from the word or from the deed.

Noticed Without Mistake

When a headache begins,
And it is noticed...
Without mistake,
With a pinpointing to the origin.

Know now you do what and who,
Initiated that headache.
With an acknowledgement discovered,
You can refuse the invitation for your own sake.

And closer too are those steps you make...
To identifying the life you wish.
And that which to dismiss,
From your happiness kept to keep as is.

There is nothing like stopping,
A whine that begins...
On time you once gave,
You no longer give.

Know now you do what and who,
Initiated that headache.
With an acknowledgement discovered,
You can refuse the invitation for your own sake.

Cry For The Lost

Something I forgot that I used to know
Keeps on coming back around.
Somewhere in the dark right before the dawn
Like a light from down the hall.
Suddenly some old familiar music
Songs I know Ive never heard before.
I gotta play along I cant refuse it
I hear the call.
Weve all been so proud of our blindness
No kindness to share
I used to cry for the lost
Until I had to turn away.
Then I looked inside, past the fool,
And found some deeper words to say
To bring us together.
We can make it better
We can make it right.
We hide behind the veil of our own success,
While were following the rules.
Our eyes refuse to see past our little hands
To the never changing truth.
Freedom needs to speak a little louder,
Justice needs to try her other arm.
Some of us could push a little harder
To sound the alarm.
And I see children marching
And I hear the drums again
I used to cry for the lost
Until I had to turn away.
Then I looked inside, past the fool,
And found some deeper words to say.
If we hope and pray,
It will come, give it half a chance.
Everyone, understand
In our hearts and our mind,
You know theres nothing left to hide,
Were already there.
I used to cry.
Cry for the lost I was walking away.
I used to try to find a reason.
Then I looked inside,
I used to mind everytime I was walking away,
I gotta find what Im feeling
To bring us together.
Repeat chorus

You and your Career

Your ears were choosing what to hear,
When mighty jungles claimed noises,
The reason behind the brain and what is clear.

My sight detained me and made me disappear,
Where was I situated, afterwards with afterimages?
Your ears were choosing what to hear.

Your instrument is heavenly in this world and atmosphere,
Like music has spoken and never abuses,
The reason behind the brain and what is clear.

I ride on a faith too majestic and pure to adhere,
Such innocence exhibits the advantages,
Your ears were choosing what to hear,

My mind is passing a test, like drinking beer,
Inner fighting has survived the ambushes,
The reason behind the brain and what is clear.

I can never refuse a man to speak about a career,
The laughing is acted due to this and never ceases,
Your ears were choosing what to hear,
The reason behind the brain and what is clear.
