Being Sassy is In My Genes
As a result of declaring,
My prerogative.
The knots and bruises,
Once appearing on my thick head.
Have cleared.
A reluctant introduction to patience,
Stood in my way.
And dared me to move.
I felt a wobbling in my legs.
And my feet froze too.
Blessed I was to have been made to listen.
That prerogative of mine,
With a braggadociousness.
In my mind I defined has gone.
And I'm glad it has.
But that sass I still have remains to alarm.
I was once told by my mom.
Being sassy is in my genes.

Britney Spears - My Prerogative Lyrics
SPOKEN:
People can take everything away from you
But they can never take away your truth
But the question is..
Can you handle mine?
They say I'm crazy
I really don't care
That's my prerogative
They say I'm nasty
But I don't give a damn
Getting boys is how I live
Some ask me questions
Why am I so real?
But they don't understand me
I really don't know the deal
About my sister
Trying hard to make it right
Not long ago before I won this fight
Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
I don't need permission
Make my own descisions (oh)
That's my prerogative
That's my prerogative
[It's my prerogative]
Its the way that I wanna live
[It's my prerogative]
They can't tell me what to do...
Don't get me wrong
I'm really not souped
Ego trips is not my thing
All these strange relationships
It really gets me down
I see nothing wrong
Spreading Myself Around
Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
I don't need permission
Make my own descisions (oh)
That's my prerogative
That's my prerogative
Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
I don't need permission
Make my own descisions (oh)
That's my prerogative
That's my prerogative
Its the way that I wanna live
[It's my prerogative]
They can't tell me what to do...
Why can't I live my life?
Without all of the things that people say?
Ohh...
[Shout]
Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
I don't need permission
Make my own descisions (oh)
That's my prerogative
(They Say I'm crazy) Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
(they say I'm nasty)I don't need permission
Make my own descisions
(ahhh)That's my prerogative

Woman’s liberality
Man cheats on woman;
Her beauty is no bar.
Woman cheats on man;
His chivalry is no bar.
Boredom is the cause.
Variety is fancy.
Man looks for woman’s looks
And seeks her with passion.
Woman looks for man’s trust
And involves from emotion.
He skips without a scar.
She slips with deep wound.
Cheating has been
Man’s prerogative.
Cheating has become
Woman’s prerogative too.
Its prevalence grows,
Liberality granted.

Daddy Dont Mind
(clarke / sylvester / hicks)
Sass e frass and joe d glow
Headin out to the picture show
Sweet innocence not yet 18
Daddy dont mind what daddy dont see
Heavy chevy soft top down
One arm driver, the other arm around
Switched on hi fi rocknroll
Gunnin the engine heading for the open road
Given strict instructions
Not to fall for no seductions
Daddy dont mind what daddy dont see
Joe had no such orders
Gonna try and cross the border
Daddy dont mind what daddy dont see
Sass makes the move she straightens her seams
Joe checks in the mirror he thinks hes james dean
He pulls on over says hes got a flat
Sass is no fool she knows where hes at
Chorus
Shes had love and shes had kissin
Knows what shes been missin
No turnin back for little sass e frass
Will they be standin side by side
If their love they cannot hide?
No turnin back for little sass e frass
Sass e frass and joe d glow
Never made it to the picture show
Sweet innocence thrown out the door,
Shell never be the same no more

Ooh, daddy dont mind what daddy dont see
Ooh, daddy dont mind what daddy dont see
Ooh, daddy dont mind what daddy dont see

I Felt Freed
One day I awakened,
And there was an insignificance I sensed,
From yesterday!
That cleared the morning air.
There was something about my life,
That had arrived and I liked.
Appearing in my sight...
With such a happiness I could not ignore.
It was there to make certain,
I had been aware.
And whatever to me was done and/or said,
Before I laid my head down in my bed...
Prepared to flee.
Somehow this was unknown to me.
And when I had awakened it had fled!
No longer to me to be important.
To address as my priorities.
And I felt freed!
I felt freed.
I felt...
Freed!
To live a life much more motivated.
With a quest to face challenges...
I now seek and dare!
As opportunities to prove...
I can move anything off my path,
That isn't of benefit and doesn't belong there!
And I felt freed!
I felt freed.
I felt...
Freed!

Blind Bid to Boston
The pilot left his seat.
Some stood upon their feet.
They looked in disbelief.
But none of them could fly,
Or dared to even try.
The pilot munched on snacks.
And then he took a nap.
No one knew what to do.
No one there before had flew!
And then someone yelled,
'Hey, let's play 'Bid Whist'?
It's the best when there's tension.
Hey...let's all play Bid Whist.
Someone might get a Boston or two! '
As turbulence rocked the plane,
Someone bid a five 'no'...
Downtown without any fear.
Another nixed that,
By declaring a six low.
In 'diamonds' they said very clear.
And everyone there in the air,
Forgot their cares.
No one dared to mention their plight.
They were all in the game of 'Bid Whist'
And one aboard made a blind bid,
To Boston that night!

The forefathers, including James Madison, felt very strongly that the duties that we owe to God were outside of government's prerogative, that government had no business interfering with the way we worship God.
Once It Has Been Achieved
There is something to be said,
About being in the company...
Of both children and pets.
There is an honesty untainted,
That children are quick to expose.
And pets,
Like dogs and cats...
Express a loyalty,
No one has to guess...
To whom that affection is directed.
There is something to be said,
About expectations of relationships.
Declaring to settle down with a mate,
Usually involves,
One having patience...
With 'something' that will irritate.
There is also something to be said,
About choosing to be alone...
In one's own peaceful solitude!
One isn't obligated to adjust for another's mood.
Or prove without a question of a doubt,
Where they have been...
When a decision has been made,
To do what one pleases when one goes out!
And one can choose to leave those conflicts visited...
To return to an atmosphere with an opening of a door.
With the use of a key,
To lock out the 'noise' to deeply breathe.
And sighing with relief...
That a peace that is received,
Can be found inside to safely keep!
THAT is all that needs to be said,
When one has discovered...
A peace of mind,
One is grateful and blessed...
To have in one's head!
And a delivery of THAT is a fact one dares,
Or cares to share...
Once it has been achieved!
Believe me.
There are no exaggerations,
With embellishments involved.
THAT is all that needs to be said,
When one has discovered...
A peace of mind,
One is grateful and blessed...
To have in one's head!
Believe me.

Move Over Ms. L.
One, two, a one, two, three, four
Well now the underground and overjoyed they come on just the same
Don't wanna get too real man, just wanna play the game
I guess ya knew it all along we were just singing in the rain
Can't get hipped to the down trip, the ship is sailing yet
And if it sinks, you know that all you really get is wet!
Move over ms. l.
You know i wish you well
Move over ms. l. you know i wish you well
Move over ms. l.
Well now to err is something human and forgiving so divine
I'll forgive your trespasses, if you forgive me mine
Life's a deal, you knew it, when you signed the dotted line
They nail you to the paper, put a rope around your neck
And so we sing along, the boy stood on the burning deck!
Move over ms. l.
You know i wish you well
Move over ms. l. you know i wish you well
Move over ms. l.
Well now momma poppa told me son you better watch your head
Your head is fulla snakes boy, you're better red than dead
They're starving back in china, that's what they always said!
Can't get head in the head shop, yer jeans are fulla crap
You're full of beans, you're in your teens, you lost your momma's road map!
Move over ms. l.

Paulie wants to be Polly
Nature gave him shoes that he never felt quite fit
Wrong soles inside a soul which was never much equipped
To prance around in boxers when he wanted ladies briefs
And roll around in cardigans while stuck in denim sleaves
He compromised himself to the rules of family life
Captaining a little league, while head of the P.T.A
Devoted to his wife who was a catholic socialite
With an honor role son, and a daughter in ballet
No matter what his summit, it was always hard to breath
Sheltered in an armor that was densely claustrophobic
Riding down a road that was always growing narrow
Until one day he decided to get the full adjustment
Paulie wants Polly, and that is her prerogative belief
For who are we to stop the change of butterflies?
And abort the metamorphose of once rights
When we could live each day fulfilled and always free
Now her head is feeling clear, but now she’s in a storm
Eschewed by all her peers who can’t digest her norms
She's dumped from playing coach, and the parent’s minor league
It’s sad theirs no acceptance, at least she can ware her new Capri’s
The family life imploded, down a sinkhole of twilight
Her wife put her on least, and was indignant to decide
The son became agnostic, but her daughter was just fine
She liked the new dynamic, and helped to say it “made her Bi”
Paulie is now Polly, and has left the ordinary behind
Insurrecting from the box, knowlonger defined
For there's no laws on how ones heart should always beat
Sometimes a happiness thats unnatural is all you need
Judge this by content NOT THE MESSAGE,
if this offends you, move along

I Froze Up (live From Webcast)
I Froze Up Lyrics
You're the light wiping out my batteries
You're the cream in my airport-coffees
I don't know why I stick with you
If I had a choice
Like lambs into the slaughter
Like cows to the storm above
You're the Genie of my lamp
I could have in anyone
But one day I froze up
But one day I froze up
But one day I froze up
But one day I froze up
Like this...
Oh, little boy...
Little boy, little boy
Oh, little boy...
Little boy, little boy
If you try to strangle the skylark
Try to cut it up, to see how it works
Stalactites and stalagmites
Rows of never open doors
Coz one day I froze up
Coz one day I froze up
Coz one day I froze up
Coz one day I froze up
I did...

From Head To Toe
Oh, well, now youre the girl Im simply mad about.
Oh yes, Im really glad its been me. oh yeah.
I hope that youve been getting ready,
cause Im gonna ask you to go steady with me.
I got two eyes that happened by ya,
And when they saw you, they said they knew you were fine.
I got two lips that long to kiss you,
And when they speak, they say they wish you were mine.
Hey, sweet baby, oh dont you know that I am yours from head to toe.
Oh, I got a little heart inside me beating
And when it speaks it keeps repeating your name all the time.
You better watch out cause of what I say
Cause baby, dont you know that I aint playing a game?
Hey, sweet baby, oh dont you know that I am yours from head to toe.
All the way down from the top to the ground, sweet baby.
I got two legs and I got two feet that always take me to your street
Everyday, all the time.
No matter which way I try to go, my legs and my feet
They seem to know the way.
Hey, sweet baby, oh dont you know that I am yours from head to toe.
All the way down from the top to the ground. hey, sweet baby.
I am yours from head to toe. sweet baby.

What Celia Saw in the Back of a Spoon
Celia looked at her reflection
In the back of the spoon;
Her face was blown outward
As if captured on some balloon.
It almost made her laugh;
The memory of it;
How she and her sister Sassy
Would do that as kids,
Before the dark days,
Before her death in a bath.
That drowning, that sad death.
Sassy's husband had beaten her
Black and blue and green
And she'd hide herself away
So as not to be seen.
But she'd seen her,
Seen the bruises
Like smudged tattoos,
The closed eyes,
The swollen lips,
The hardly able to talk words
Pushing through the mouth
To say: he says he loves me still.
Celia stared at her reflection,
The way her own mouth was distorted,
Her lips blown up, her eyes enlarged,
Out of proportion.
She almost laughed,
But something about Sassy's sad death
Made her stifle any guffaw
That may have broken free
From her distorted reflected jaw.
There was the time she'd seen her
Undressing for bed when she stayed
Because Sassy's husband (the weird freak)
Was off on business, some big deal,
Needing to be pulled off,
And she saw the black and blueness
With tinges of green
Along her naked flesh,
The buttocks welted
Where he had belted.
Sassy had said nothing,
Had not noticed Celia looking,
Had not thought it unusual
To be unclothed as such
Away from other's peering eyes.
Now Sassy was dead;
Found in the bath;
Drugged out, wrists slit,
Having drowned recorded.
But he had driven her over the edge;
He had bullied and beaten
Like some spoilt cruel child
An unwanted toy.
Celia turned the spoon over
And put it down.
No more desire to laugh,
Just fond memories of Sassy
Before her death in the bath.

No Clouds Do I See
I'm back on the road.
Detoured by my burdens and that load.
No tears do I shed.
I've cleared out my head.
And there's such a peace in me instead.
I once crawled on knees.
In pity that would not set me free.
Then one day I met,
Regrets I had kept.
And realized they dismissed my peace.
I stood on my feet.
And told them from me they had to leave.
All doubts disappeared.
The sky then did clear.
The Sun like a smile on me appeared.
I'm back on the road.
Detoured by my burdens and that load.
No tears do I shed.
I've cleared out my head.
And there's such a peace in me instead...
All over me!
No clouds do I see,
Over me.
No clouds do I see,
Over me.
No clouds do I see,
Over me!
