Because You Want It

Because you want it,
I'm suppose to have it at your command?
You don't have it like that here!
Nor would you ever have it.
Like that.

Your attitude has crossed the border of respect.
I don't subject myself to that BS.
I am not that poetic.
Not to find reason or rhyme,
Or time to take in my life to define.

My hospitality is not shown out of desperation.
I hope you did not make a mistake,
To believe I fake it...
Because I am in need?
When you leave...
I will still be left knowing who I am!

If You Ever Make a Mistake

If you make a mistake,
Admit it.
And get it right out of your way.
Don't you ever fake it to escape.
Believing what is done is okay!

If you ever make a mistake,
Just admit it!
And get it out of the way.
Don't you ever fake it to escape...
That mistake someday you'll repay!

There's no need for moaning or groaning,
Over what's been done.
No one lives a perfect life,
Under the Sun!

Alibis are like houseflies.
They begin to annoy.
And habits are like pests when invited...
They are hard to destroy.

Even if you hit 'em with a bat...
They come right back!

Strap in that saddle and take that ride.
Admit that mistake made,
And push it aside!

'Okay, okay, okay!
So I made a mistake.
So what's the big deal? '

~Getting you to admit it! ~

If you make a mistake,

~Getting you to admit it!
If you didn't...
That mistake would have others that you make!
And with me,
That's not okay! ~

'Geeessshhh...
Okay!
But please...
Stop the song and dance routine.
I get it! '

Its Time

The partys over
Your time is up
Youve had your last pointless teardrop
Washed down in that broken coffee cup
This magic moment concludes when that cigarette ends
Did you get what you wanted?
Well I suppose that depends
Well I suppose that depends
If you go, if you go
Where passion is squandered and money is spent
Its time, its time
Its time, its time
Its time, its time, its time
You must see its time that you went
You must see its time that you went
Our brief acquaintance was such a mistake
Now it seems more like a sentence
Or something you always had to fake
This magic moment concludes when they turn out the light
Its not the days when you leave me
But all I fear are the nights
But all I fear are the nights
Chorus
You told the same joke to me too many times
I wish that someone would hit it
Just before you reach
Just before you reach
Just before you reach the punchline
The partys over
Time we broke up
It always seemed like a bad dream
One where I finally woke up
This magic moment concluding our mutual fate
But if you do have to leave me
Who will I have left to hate?
Who will I have left to hate?
Chorus

That Word That Smells

I've found a reason not to rhyme.
Or open a door to flowing prose.
I suppose I am not feeling poetic today.
Nor especially free of speech.
Although there is a discipline to write.
Sometimes my mind turns off like a light.

And even though I said,
I've found a reason not to rhyme...
Something 'automatic' within me resists.
Something inside of me refuses to respond,
To my temptations that exist to just say...
It!
You know.
That word that smells when one feels like hell!

Leave It Alone

When you feel it in your gut,
Something is not up to snuff...
Just leave it alone.

And if you see someone sweating,
Bundled up and in a rush...
Just leave them alone.

Don't bother to find,
If they're stoned to the bone.

If you see something that looks out of place,
Just leave it alone.
And if you see someone laughing with a smile on their face,
Just leave them alone.

Don't bother to find,
If they're stoned to the bone.
There is something on their mind only they condone.

If there's something in the mix that can't be fixed,
Just leave it alone.

Don't try to be the center of something that's a misfit,
Just leave it alone.
See it as it is to then go home.
Don't try to find a reason or a rhyme to define.
There's no sense today of any kind.
Everything is done to blow a mind.

If there's something in the mix that can't be fixed,
Just leave it alone.

If you know for you there is no benefit,
Just leave it alone.
Accept it as it is to then go home.
Just leave it alone.
Leave it alone.

If there's something in the mix that can't be fixed,
Just leave it alone.

Don't try to be the center of something that's a misfit,
Leave it alone.
Accept it as it is to then go home.
Leave it alone.
Leave it, leave it, leave it alone.

Repect The Struggle.....

Respect the struggle
Strive to prevail
Stop wondering
What’s fake or real
Respect the hustle
You can not fail
Get on your feet
Let your spirit set sail
Respect the hard times
For what they are worth
They teach us a lot
But they indeed do hurt
Respect the real
Ignore the fake
The fake will take
What you worked hard, to make
Respect the wise
For they kno wisdom
When they breathe no longer
Do not forget them
Respect the game
Even if you don’t win
You have to learn to lose
In order to win
Respect the dignity
That no one can take
Be strong
Sooo you won’t break
Respect the process
Of life it’s self
Whether poor or rich
Life is a gift
But when it get’s hard
It’s almost cursed
Respect the rewards
For working hard
But don’t let that
Taint who you are
Respect the struggle of
Life’s a bitter sweet curse
But you can turn that around
And make it a blessing in the works
That feels sooo good
It needs no words
My friend,
This is the end of my
Bitter sweet words

Times A' Tickin'

Its half past forever...
And i'm wastin' no more time--
I gotta get through...
Your reason and your rhyme;

Gotta make sense--
Of the things that you do--
Gotta find answers...
To the enigma thats you;

Its half past forever--
And i'm wastin' no more time--
I gotta get through...
Your reason and your rhyme;

Gotta try to understand...
Why your heart is so cold--
Gotta find out...
Before i get too old;

Tell ya i been tryin' so hard...
To figure out just what makes you tick...
Gotta find the answer---
Before it makes me sick;

Its half past forever--
And i'm wastin' no more time---
I gotta get through...
Your reason and your rhyme;

Tell ya i've never known--
Such a hate filled guy...!
Gotta find out...
Your reasons-and your why;

'Cause its make or break time...
For me and for you--
Gotta settle this one pronto...
Or we will be through;

Its half past foever--
And i'm wastin' no more time--
I gotta get through...
Your reason and all of your rhyme;

Gotta find out...
Just what makes ya tick...
Gotta find out...
Before it makes me sick;

This Is It (feat. Kenny Loggins)

There've been times in my life
I've been wondering why
Still, somehow I believed
We'd always survive
Now, I'm not so sure
You're waiting here
One good reason to try
But, what more can I say
What's left to provide
You think that maybe it's over
Only if you want it to be
Are you gonna wait
For a sign, your miracle
Stand up and fight
This is it, make no
Mistake where you are
This is it, your
Back's to the corner
This is it, don't be a
Fool anymore, this is it
The waiting is over
No, don't you run
No way to hide
No time for wondering why
It's here, the moment
Is now about to decide
Let em believe
Leave them behind
But keep me near in your heart
Know whatever you do
I'm here by your side
You say that maybe it's over
Not if you don't want it to be
For once in your life
Here's your miracle
Stand up and fight
This is it, make no
Mistake where you are
This is it, you're going no further
This is it until it's over and done
No one can tell you
What the future holds
Oh oh oh oh, who makes
Tthe choice of how it goes
It's not up to me
Tthis time, you know
Comes a day in every life
This is it, make no
Mistake where you are
This is it, you're going no further
This is it until it's over and done
This is it, one way or another
This is it, no one can
Tell what the future holds
This is it, your back's to the corner
This is it, you make the
Choice of how it goes
This is it, the waiting is over...

Love 'em Or Leave 'em

Blowing'cross the universe
Like a shooting star that lost its way
Looking back with no regrets
Living tor what hasn't happened yet
Love 'em or leave 'em
No rhyme or reason
Break out to make out
No change in the season
Love 'em or leave 'em
Put out or get out
Simple survival
No more denial
Love 'em or leave 'em
Roller coaster flies oft the track
Hits you in the face, stabs you in the back
They Jake your right, leave nothing left
Steal you blind, your mind and leave you deaf
Love 'em or leave 'em
No rhyme or reason
State of the nation
Pure intoxication
Feel the vibration
The anticipation
Simple survival
No more denial
Dont wanna waste no time
I'm never losing track
I've seen il all and so much more
But I ain't seen nothing yet
Love 'em or leave 'em
No rhyme or reason
State of the nation
Pure intoxication
Feel the vibration
The anticipation
Simple survival
No more denial
Love 'em or leave 'em

I Do Not Feel Very Poetic Today

I do not feel very poetic today-
And now I make that feeling the ‘subject’ of a poem-
Once Poetry seemed to be confined
To certain more sublime subjects -

But in our time
When every Form seems to expand to take into itself its opposite
Poetry makes itself of the non- poetic also -
There is no subject apparently
Which is non- poetic
Once a poem is written about it-

I do not feel very poetic today
And these plain and unbeautiful lines
This awkward presentation
Is what I am capable of

Poem or not,
I have written it now.

Art of Border

It could be a shield, it could be a cage
The safety sealant, the tying trap
The filter line, the block wall
Border, border, border

The sacred culture, the love crossing
The moral limit, the emotion frame
The rule control, the life permission
Border, border, border

The friction fight, the freedom cut
The bond mark, the fence crack
The counter side, the edge of touch
Border, border, border

Can you keep it as promise
Can you bridge it by hope
The song from deserted corner
Border, border, border

There Is A Reason And Rhyme That Connects

No one should assume,
They know someone so well...
As to take their expression of concern,
For granted.
Or believe they have stopped doing it,
Because that person is in an attitude...
And has exclusively to them shown this.
For no apparent reason.
And they have expressed this 'moodiness',
Before in the past to them.

If someone is taken for granted like that,
With beliefs that have not been validated.
But has been treated indifferently as time progresses,
By those with unfounded beliefs they hold onto...
They can also assume,
That a concern once expressed...
Will not again be addressed,
By someone who has stopped caring...
Less,
What it is that they believe.

Eventually those assumptions held in their minds,
Will connect to find...
Someone that has been dismissed,
To them has been genuine.
There is a reason and rhyme that connects,
To everything with time given it that takes place.

Still Waiting

So am I still waiting
For this world to stop hating
Can't find a good reason
Can't find hope to believe in

Drop dead a bullet to my head
Your words are like a gun in hand
You can't change the state of the nation
We just need some motivation
Three times casino eviction
Just lies and more contradiction

So tell me what would you say
I'd say its up: to me

So am I still waiting
For this world to stop hating
Can't find a good reason
Can't find hope to believe in

Ignorance and Understanding
We're the first ones to jump in line
Out of step for what we believe in
But whos left? To start the pleading
How far will we take this
It's not hard to see through the sickness

So tell me what would you say
I'd say its up: to me

So am I still waiting
For this world to stop hating
Can't find a good reason
Can't find hope to believe in

This can't last forever
Time won't make things better
I feel so alone
Can't help myself
And no one knows
If this is worthless
Tell me: so

What have we done
We're in a war that can't be won
This can't be real
I don't know what to feel

So am I still waiting
For this world to stop hating
Can't find a good reason
Can't find hope to believe in

So am I still waiting
For this world to stop hating
Can't find a good reason
Can't find hope to believe in

Almost Poetic

It's almost poetic
The way you speak
It's almost poetic
The way you think
The way you sleep and dream
It's almost poetic
The way I feel for you
It's almost poetic
The way we argue
It's almost poetic
When we say goodbye
Not knowing the next time
We'll see each other
You are the curved line
And I am the dot
That creates the question mark..
And it's almost poetic
If it were not so pathetic.

Enjoyed

If we should never meet...
To greet or see one another eye to eye,
Know this...
We are experiencing to witness,
This life we have been given...
Together.

We are visitors in this moment and time.
Acknowledging the unimportance,
It is to define or uncover the reason or rhyme.
But to find a common bond to share.
And appreciate the breathing of fresh air.
With the understanding you and I are here.
Commited to achieve,
The very best we can be!

If we should never meet...
To greet or see one another eye to eye,
Know this...
We are experiencing to witness,
This life we have been given...
Together.

And for whatever reason,
We may never get to touch...
Know this...
What is kept in our minds and hearts,
At this time...
Is enjoyed.

They're Our National Treasure

If there's one thing in life which will start a war,
It's conflict between the young and old,
Let's stop and reflect and start asking what for,
These disputes can and do leave us cold.

I observed an old guy the other day,
As he was carrying out a menial task,
When I offered assistance he said, no way,
I'm grateful but there's no need to ask.

What a stubborn Old Git I thought to myself,
He's just bitter because he is old,
It's not my fault he's been left on the shelf,
His attitude did leave me cold.

Then I thought to myself, what would I be like,
If I ever reached the same age,
No more football or stunts on my bike,
That notion placed me in a rage.

Like me he must have been young and fit,
Yet this old guy I was trying to deride,
I knew by his actions his fire I had lit,
He was showing me he still had his pride.

This got me thinking about why we fight,
The reason we are so far apart,
Generations divided by who's wrong or right,
To bridge this divide we must start.

There's so much our Elders know about life,
Yet their knowledge we choose to ignore,
Our attitude towards them can cause so much strife,
They're our mentors they should not be a chore.

Yet in truth they know more than you or I,
They've been round the course a lot longer,
We forget they were young that we cannot deny,
Why don't we try make our relationships stronger.

We must have a truce and evaluate each other
Both our groups have so much to give,
Our differences we know can and do smother,
We must learn to live and let live.

This works both ways, they can be the same,
Saying their time was more respectful than ours,
In life generations go through much the same,
We have weaknesses but we also have powers.

It's our turn next so don't ever forget,
Respect as a gift must be earned,
We owe all our ancestors a massive debt,
Without them what would we have learned.

It's a fact of life that we become more skilled,
Each generation improves on the last,
Thanks to our Elders future dreams are fulfilled,
Only our memories remain in the past.

The reason for this fact is plain to see,
Our forefathers did their job well,
Skills they've given us you'd have to agree,
Is the reason we can now excel.

No group in history has ever got it just right,
Fact is we will all make mistakes,
That's how we learn to make things right,
By distinguishing the real from the fakes.

If we'd treat each other with more respect,
Our differences we could make disappear,
If on each others attributes we tried to reflect,
Then both parties would have nothing to fear.

We all need each other we know that is true,
Living in harmony would give both parties pleasure,
Without our Elders what would we do,
in truth,

‘' They're Our National Treasure ‘'

Those That KNow Reasoning

You cannot have what isn't yours
You cannot give what isn't yours
You cannot take what wasn't given to you
You cannot own what belongs to no one
You cannot buy what is not for sale
You cannot discover something when there are already people there
You cannot earn something that is worthless
You cannot celebrate victories never won

You should not die for no reason
You should not hate for no reason
You should not quarrel for no reason
You should not defend for no reason
You should not kill for no reason
You should not murder for any reason
You should not destroy for the sake of destruction
You should not build for the sake of building

You should dance for no reason
You should laugh for no reason
You should smile for no reason
You should love for no reason
You should go for the sake of traveling
You should know for the sake of knowing
You should venture out or you will stagnate
You should respect Mother Nature
You should share the planet for it is all we have
You should make peace for this is reason

In war there are no winners, only those who are left
Death, life, love, friends, and family are the only thing worthwhile in existence worthy of celebration

Who stands with me?

True poets write in meter.
Not because they think it’s neater
but because the flow is sweeter
When their words are read aloud
as they perform before the crowd.
Their poems pass the acid test.

Prose writers do not choose to rhyme.
They see it as a waste of time.
Although their word choice is sublime.
Without meter it is prose,
not poetry as they suppose.
Their definition I contest.

Poetic prose it’s plain to see.
Can not be classed as poetry.
I can accept you disagree.
I know I have a biased view
I think I am entitled to
Decide which one I like the best.

I choose meter every time
Preferably with lines that rhyme.
I find such poetry sublime.
Though I enjoy well written prose.
Each to his own I must suppose
So write the way that suits you best.

I am old fashioned I admit
and not one whit ashamed of it.
I do not find rules inhibit.
Free expression of my views
They merely mean I have to choose
the words that will express them best

Free form, free verse, poetic prose.
Are methods other writers chose
as being fit for their purpose.
To rebel against fixed form.
Which was regarded as the norm.
Just to be different from the rest.

But fashions change and now free form
Must be regarded as the norm.
I see no reason to conform.
I choose to write my poetry
In the old way that pleases me.
A lonely voice raised in protest.

The wheel of fate will slowly turn
Metered poetry will return
and well deserved plaudits earn.
I hope I live to see the day.
when classic poets can display.
That fixed forms can outshine the rest.

Is There a Better Love to Give

Is there a better love to give,
Than that which is left...
To miss,
And be remembered?
To know that it is love.
And love is what it truly is!

Is there a better relationship to have,
Than one that is committed.
Giving, sharing, devoted.
Loyal and always trusted?
With no fears or tears of being 'busted'
Because of a lack of trust.

Is there a better life to have,
Than knowing what one has
Is not up for grabs.
But is clear and specific.
There and kept reminisced.
To make one happy and glad it exists.

If there is anyone who can say,
Sometimes we have to go our separate ways.
To strengthen a shared space,
That is graced with respect.
To come back to make love had even better!
Although it was great when it was temporarily left?
What other kind of love can be on anyone's mind?
Knowing what is there is seen.
And does not leave one blind.

That kind of love is hard to find,
Today.
Tomorrow.
Or at any other time.
Especially if it is known.
And one can pick up a telephone,
To call and say exactly that.
No matter where that special someone,
May be 'temporarily' at!
With all lines of communication open.
