American Mindsets

Express a love for something done you do,
And very few will come to comprehend.
Especially...
Since it is not connected to a dollar bill.

And that concept only motivates...
An interest for them!
American mindsets...
Are in us deep within.

Having An Interest

Having an interest to understand something,
Makes it easier to comprehend.
And that understanding wanted increases to flourish,
With a nourishing that heals and mends.
And an acknowledgement needing not to be prompted.

Although on the other hand...
If there is no concern expressed shown at all,
After scratching one's head to the obviousness of it.
Those questions asked about why the lack of interest...
Will also quickly fade away eventually.

Leaving that which only has interest directed,
Getting all of the attention without the requesting...
To at least express some.
And when none comes,
Why bother?

Self-actualization

Alone with myself,
So much comes into view.
Life and my purpose.
What is and not true.
Who does what and what I do.
And why and how all of this is connected.
Alone with myself,
I feel a power within.
I wish to find a way to express it.
A way to address...
And share with those who comprehend,
Self-actualization among those lost of identity
They will never understand or come to see.
And 'why' is that important to me that they do?
Alone with myself...
Praying!

So Connected To You

There are times when I'm happy
and times when I'm sad
and all of these times that I have had
are all connected to you,
so connected to you.
so connected to you.

There are times when it's sunny
and times when it's not
and all of these times I never forgot
were all connected to you,
so connected to you.

'Cause you have my heart on a string
and I can't control one little thing.
Where's my composure? Where did it go?
'Can't even answer for I don't know.

There are times when I'm jumpy
and times when I'm still
and times when I'm playful
like Jack and Jill.
And they're all connected to you,
so connected to you.

So what do I do to get over you?
You've got me crazy in love with you.
I take a step forward and fall back two
and everywhere that I go
there'll be times when I want you
and times when I don't.
There'll be times that I'll have you
and times that I won't
but there's absolutely nothing I can do
'Cause I'm connected to you,
so connected to you
So I know we can never be through.

Having-Less-Is-More

Money isn't 'everything' you know?

'Ooooohhh mon ami,
Big dummy you!

YOUR money may not be 'everything'.
Or not nearly what it use to be.
However...
SOMEWHERE someone is spending it,
Caring less about your limitation.
Or who has good or bad or indifferent credit.
And they have yet to accept greed as a motive,
To live a happy life! '

I am not referring to foreigners,
I am talking about us...
Living today in 'this' country.

'Oh?
I see.
So you've already adopted,
That 'Having-Less-Is-More' attitude?
Good for you.
You make me proud.
But as for me...
Give me a ten dollar bill anytime.
Even a five dollar bill,
Seems less than a dollar these days.'

Too Much Of Heaven (rough Edit)

Too much of heaven
Can bring you underground
Heaven
Can always turn around
Too much of heaven
A life and soul hell bound
Heaven
The killer makes no sound
They're still talk about money
That's right and too much of heaven
C'mon my friend
Ley me tell you what it's all about
It's called money dependence today
And people just keep going on looking at the dollar bill
And nothing else around them
No love no friendship nothing else
Just the dollar bill coming on into their pocket
Into their bank account and that's
Too much of heaven bringing them underground
Let me tell you what it's all about
It's called money dependence today
And people just keep going on looking at the dollar bill
And nothing else around them
No love no friendship nothing else
Just the dollar bill coming on into their pocket
Into their bank account
The answer
Is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing
Oh let me tell you what it's all about
Too much of heaven bring you underground

Engrossed and Trapped

They feel the freedom to express the affects,
Of today's racism.
As technologies advance.
To leave mindsets like these...
Engrossed and trapped within their insecurities.

One would never believe these conversations breed,
This kind of attention in the year two thousand and ten.

There seems to be more focus on one's color of skin.
By ignorant radio talk show hosts...
Being paid top dollar,
To use the airwaves to solicit a hatred...
That validates the feelings of those who listen.

Whites who describe themselves,
As disliking blacks, browns and jews.
Are given this kind of authorized soapbox...
To discuss their self righteousness.
And who should live as they choose.

There seems to be more focus on one's color of skin.
By ignorant radio talk show hosts...
Being paid top dollar,
To use the airwaves to solicit a hatred...
That validates the feelings of those who listen.

They feel the freedom to express the affects,
Of today's racism.
As technologies advance.
To leave mindsets like these...
Engrossed and trapped within their insecurities.

One would never believe these conversations breed,
This kind of attention in the year two thousand and ten.
But then again...
IF a superiority is what is truly felt.
Why are there reminders needed?
And why is a country of physical diversity...
Have some folks believing,
They should be directing all people...
To do what a few who deceive as they please.

Trail Of Tears

This song was first released on the dreamland express album. it is the only album it has been released on.
No more beautiful moons may we spend on our land
In the north, the scarlet council talks of war
And the long knives have massacred the tribe and burned corn
Were not welcome in our homeland anymore
No more songs of the hunters on the baffalo plain
No more smoke from sacred fires touch these hills
And the numbers of the people grow fewer every mile
And our children will not leave the great spirits ways
There will be a trail of tears
There will be a trail of pain
And jackson will have the mississippi and the twenty dollar bill
But for us the trail is all that will remain
On the streets of rapid city
On the road to wounded knee
There is whiskey for forgetting everything
But the old ones say there may be time learning from each other
The way that it had once been meant to be
There is still a trail of tears
There is still a trail of pain
And jackson has got the mississippi and the twenty dollar bill
But for us the trail of tears remains
And jackson has got the mississippi and the twenty dollar bill
But how long will the trail of tears remain
Words and music by randy handley

You Don't Know Where Your Interest Lies

You don't know that you love me
You don't know, but I know that you do
You may think you're above me, yeah
What you think isn't always true
Don't try to debate me
You should know that I'm womanly wise
Still you're trying to manipulate me
You don't know where your interest lies
No, you don't know where your interest lies
You don't begin to comprehend
You're just a game that I like to play
You may think that my friend's all right
But I won't let friendship get in my way
No, I won't let friendship get in my way
Indications indicate
Running the same riff will turn you around
Obviously, you're going to blow it
But you don't know it
You don't know that you love me
You don't know, but I know that you do
You may think you're above me, yeah
What you think isn't always true
And you don't know where your interest lies
You don't know where your interest lies

The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill

Hey, bungalow bill
What did you kill
Bungalow bill?
He went out tiger hunting with his elephant and gun
In case of accidents he always took his mom
He's the all american bullet-headed saxon mother's son.
All the children sing
Hey bungalow bill
What did you kill
Bungalow bill?
Deep in the jungle where the mighty tiger lies
Bill and his elephants were taken by surprise
So captain marvel zapped in right between the eyes
All the children sing
Hey, bungalow bill
What did you kill
Bungalow bill?
The children asked him if to kill was not a sin
Not when he looked so fierce, his mother butted in
If looks could kill it would have been us instead of him
All the children sing
Hey, bungalow bill
What did you kill
Bungalow bill?

Connected (Love & Life Poem)

We are connected to this life by many threads
Which we only notice when they are broken
Whether family, friends, work or welfare, all
Pull us apart in different dimensions in time.

You are connected to me by small pleasures
Which we only notice when we stop giving
Whether interest, intent, wish or wisdom, all
Pull us apart in different dimensions in space.

We are connected to each other for ever now
Which we only notice when we are apart again
Whether travel, trust, freedom or failure, all
Pull us apart in different dimensions in love.

For The Conceited Woman...

often your talk
boils down to how attractive you are
or have been

and i just keep on listening
i think i must give you the challenge of shane:

walk down the road
have a hundred dollar bill in your hand
make a man choose: sex with you or the hundred dollar bill.

it's fine with me: i'll give you a hundred more.

Too Connected To Humanity

Too connected to humanity,
To feel completely free.
Although I am committed,
To have my own peace of mind...
I still find I am happiest,
When near and close to those I love.

Too connected I am to those I care about.
Even those I see on a daily basis I don't know...
I give and show respect I don't in return get.
And yet,
I am not expecting it...
In wishes it to be given.

Too connected to humanity and accepting it.
With each moment lived to express gratefulness.
And to do that with the acknowledgement,
I can only be free to observe and learn.
Not be isolated with a freedom earned...
Yet to become upset,
Since my senses are not satisfied by my yearning...
To be held and touched.

Unfettered Bound

George's face on the dollar bill
has that wry smile
his hair tarnishing white
the eyes lidded;
the lips thin and slight.

He rests in the cradle green bill;
lucre in Prosperity's Night.

I lay upon the bed in dream
wondering
how I might squeeze from that dollar bill
meaning
to banish meaninglessness.

But clutch it I do
in numbers round
expectant that Joy magically
will arrive;
unfettered;
unbound.
But it does not
and it's pursuit
dominates my life
George gallops
away
way back in time
and I
horseless
wonder if he knew
would he turn
and wait
for me
unfettered
bound.

Angelyne

(cover: gary u.s. bonds. written by springsteen)
He was a bouncer in a joint called tonys body shop
She was a night cashier down at the stop n shop
He was kinda good-lookin
And she was kinda fun
They met neath that big oak tree
Out where the river runs
Little angelyne, little angelyne
As the sun goes down and the moonlight shines
Back of a greyhound bus sit two lovers entwined
Just big bill and little angelyne
She was just in from texas, didnt know her way around
So he took her to a roadhouse on the edge of town
In the beerhall light she looked so fine
And so he popped the question that was on his mind
It was a simple affair, only a friend or two
Preacher asked if they did, they said they do
She bought two tickets with her daddys american express
And hopped a greyhound bus in her wedding dress
Little angelyne, little angelyne
As the sun goes down and the moonlight shines
Back of a greyhound bus sit two lovers entwined
Just big bill and little angelyne
In a six dollar motel with the honey bun
With seven glorious days in the nevada sun
He played the tables, she pumped the slots full of dimes
They came back broke but they had a good time
Now many fell apart in the years come and gone
But big bill and little angel theyd last on and on
They held together when the times grew thin
A little boy that looked like her, and a girl that looked like him
So mister dont you pay it no mind
Let the sun go down and the moonlight shine
Back of a greyhound bus sit two lovers entwined
Just big bill and little angelyne
Little angelyne, little angelyne
As the sun goes down and the moonlight shines
Back of a greyhound bus sit two lovers entwined
Just big bill and little angelyne
Little angelyne, little angelyne
As the sun goes down and the moonlight shines
Back of a greyhound bus sit two lovers entwined
Just big bill and little angelyne

Saw Mill (set I)

Once I was a slave at the sawmill
Talk about a poor boy, talk about a poor boy
Let me have a dollar bill
My work was so hard at the sawmill
Talk about a poor boy, talk about a poor boy
Let me have a dollar bill
See my teardrops falling down my wife left this sawmill town
She said sawmill's life had been a sin
The gravy were much too thin
I can't work no more at the sawmill
Talk about a poor boy, talk about a poor boy
Let me have a dollar bill
If you take your wife to the sawmill
How you gonna please her, how you gonna please her
When she wants a dollar bill
She'll run away and leave you at the sawmill
Women like a dollar, women like a dollar. Yes and women always will.
See my teardrops falling down my wife left this sawmill town
She said sawmill's life had been a sin
The gravy were much too thin. I can't work no more at the sawmill
Yes and women like a dollar, yes and women like a dollar
Yes and women always will

Money (Dollar Bill) (feat. Sadat X)

Dollar dollar bills
Deutch, marks, franks, yens, and pounds
I rock the jocked up sounds
From Devenshire Downs
Out the Fordham Road
Up top in the boogie
I be loyal to my peeps
Like budha stud doogie
Never very bad news
Payin' crazy dues
I'm blowin' out crews
And tamin' mad shrews
Like Bill Shakespeare
The fakes will disappear
The flavor in your ear
Is strong like Everclear
Two hundred proofs
So put the match to the roof
And set this bitch on fire
Get rich, the empire's
About to strike back
If you rock the mic wack
And that's the way it is 'cause yo
It's like that
Sadat X: Money, money y'all
It be the root of all evil
Sadat X: Money, money y'all
It makes you popular with people
I go back to the 80's
Like three times a lady
When it was pussy for free
And crack for currency
It just occurred to me
It's time for surgery
I remove MC's like tumors
The lies and the rumors
Got me thinkin' of this dub
By Timex Social Club
Yo, word to my momma
I'm high off the trauma
Whitey Ford gets deeper than subway trains
And I serve lazy fools like fast food chains
All pain no gain
Makes the brain insane
Life in the fast laneT
he flakesThe cash gains (for real)
CHORUS (X2
Sadat X: Dollar bill y'all
Dollar bill y'allDollar dollar dollar dollar dollar bill y'all
It takes money
Sadat X: to get that fly ass ho
It takes money
Sadat X: to see me rock a live show
It takes money
Sadat X: to get that last bag of smoke
Cause they kindly take from it when that ass was broke
Hey yo I'm about to g-off
Just like my name was Ed-o
Black kids call me whi

Self Defeating Foolishness

No interest they have in politics.
Believing that and religion do not mix.
No interest expressed in local business.
And yet they insist...
Changes must come to exist!

No interest do they have,
With the lack of discipline shown.
And the disrespect accepted and known.
No one wishes to participate,
In doing those things that are right.
But quick they are to pass judgements.
And witness those in conflict...
As they sit and gossip as if to benefit!

No interest in progress or moving ahead.
As those who do this among them...
They do their best to keep them down instead.
And when they notice they are all of the same mind...
Knitted together by the same common thread.
They want to come together and unify!
Crying they've been left behind...
To entertain themselves,
With more nonsense to spread!
And this is done not 'some'...
But all of the time!

And they come together,
To denounce others who express,
No interest in them...
Or their self defeating foolishness.
