Wake

Tell all my mourners
To mourn in red --
Cause there ain't no sense
In my bein' dead.

How Does A Relationship End? ....

in Siayan the woman who broke up with her man
ended up dead,
he rationalized that if he could not own her
let no one can

the parents mourn for the death of their baby
whom
not a fly had ever landed on her skin

on his part
his life has no meaning anymore
he has become
the living dead and then with one fatal shot in his head
he exploded
death

there are two coffins in the neighborhood
two funerals

many mourners
ten lamentations

on a tongue in cheek
one of those who gambled on those wake nights asked

all in the name of Love?

Angel, Angelina

Chorus:
Angel, oh my angel, angelina
Heaven must be wonderin where you are
Mornin finds me prayin please let me keep her
Each night finds me wishin on a star
That always, oh always angelina
Youll be stayin right here in my arms
Sweetest of the sweet those ruby lips
No other has that touch ooh those fingertips
Bluest of the blue those sparklin eyes
Like had in glove we fit you know youre just my size
You and all your special ways and means
Oh I love you angelina
Chorus
Youll be stayin right here in my arms
Im back to bein me
Im back to bein nobody
The who I was before I was your used to be
Im back to bein me
Im back to who I was
Before I was the one who fell in love
With the one who never, ever was in love
Im back to bein me
These eyes that used to cry myself to sleep
Now theyre dry they dont lay me down to weep
For the first time in a long time I like seeing what I see
No thanks to you
Im back to bein me
These eyes that used to cry myself to sleep
Now theyre dry they dont lay me down to weep
For the first time in a long time I like seeing what I see
No thanks to you
Im back to bein me
Im back to bein me
Im back to bein nobody

Never Mourn At My Funeral

Never mourn at my funeral
Because i'm not dead but sleeping
And relaxing on Abraham's bossom
Never mourn at my funeral
You that come in view to mourning
But within you, you're here to mock
Because my poetry has once expose your secret-deeds
Throw my body where you please
Or let it be dismembered
Never mourn at my funeral
You the insect that bites my daffodils
And you who want my fish to swim on a dry earth
Throw me on a stormy sea
Where Jonah fell
But its a glorious shame
I can never sight the river bank of Joppa
Never mourn at my funeral
You that come in my maker's name
Just to bless my end
Go thy way and search for lust souls
Wear them a garment pure as snow
Before they lie low with me
And journey hell eternal
Never mourn at my funeral
But mourn for we're debtors of death

The Mourners

Weeping for ones who in darkness lie,
the ones who in distress have sold their helpless souls;
for ones who have been born only to die...
perhaps for ones they never knew at all.
At times in graveyard they bury their thoughts
as though in there the sentiments hide some sacred notes.
At times they and corpses alike must maintain
the silence of the grave...
I wonder what played beneath their heads
that made them scream a hollow cry
or that if ever in their solemn lips
float the shadows of a lie.
No one has been so desperate to cry as they...
finding reasons to fill their eyes with false tears
or making them real as they recall
the pain of all the years.
They mourn for others and sometimes for themselves;
they mourn perhaps for unwanted fears...
condemning, regretting, yet waiting
for the price after the tears.
I thought that life was different for those
who in silence mourn.
But then life's all the same-
for everything that dies has once been born.
Life is never different for them
who mourn in silence,
for everything that started must come to an end.
Just then, life's all the same-
I watched them from a distance,
pretending as they play the game.
Some think of them as crazy,
for some, ordinary fools.
They, are called THE MOURNERS
and I am one of them.

Blues For The Widow Of The Victim Of A Racist Attck

Mourn, and mourn hard
Your tears shall fall wasted and uncollected
On this damp slab of concrete
Mourn though young widow
Weep because your husband is dead
Cry because the crowd has left and you're alone
And ganged up against by the priests and the
Celebrity pastors who piously tell you
To forgive and forget
Sob because you're surrounded by the officials
Whom the wise state has instructed to order you
To accept reconciliation without justice
Cry the river of your tears because
Your dear departed husband is dead
And your lovely children will know what it's like
To miss the soothing voice of their father
So brutally snatched away from them
And dragged behind a speeding vehicle and fed
To the lions for the sick amusement
Of a deranged and kaffir hating racist
Mourn for yourself mama
Now you'll face the world alone
With the dubious title of a single parent
Hanging on your fragile and emaciated neck
Mourn and cry and weep for the widows
Of the victims of genocide
Mourn and cry and weep for the sisters
Who are cornered and raped by their xenophobic neighbors
Mourn and cry and weep for the victims of the hurricane of
The internecine strife of ethnic cleansing and tribal warfare
Mourn and cry and weep for they
Who die unlamented in the flower of their youth

Sense of loss

About you I think
Then could not blink
I gaze in the skies
With wandering eyes
Those feelings of love
Why kept I above
I think about the days
Falling of the rays
When do we play
On the ocean’s bay
I sob for the days

Sob for the past
That could not last
Left me all alone
To groan and mourn
The loss of emotions
I mourn and bemoan
Love’s sojourn
I swear of my soul
I can not condole

Loss of sense
Sense of loss

Stephen King

I'm rightly tired of the pain I hear and feel, boss. I'm tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a robin in the rain. Not never havin' no buddy to go on with or tell me where we's comin' from or goin' to or why. I'm tired of people bein' ugly to each other. It feels like pieces of glass in my head. I'm tired of all the times I've wanted to help and couldn't. I'm tired of bein' in the dark. Mostly it's the pain. There's too much. If I could end it, I would. But I can't.

It Hurts To Want It So Bad

Its a lot like bein little
And wantin a brand new toy.
Its a lot like bein little
And wantin a baby boy
To call brother,
And it hurts
When you want it
So bad.
Its a lot like bein a young boy
Who cannot make the team.
Its a lot like bein a young girl
Who cannot help but dream
Of her best friends brother,
And it hurts
When you want it
So bad.
When its love
Youve had and lost,
If thats the worst hurt
Youve ever had,
Waiting for a new love
To come along,
And maybe, baby,
[its] just as bad.
Its a lot like bein a man
When you[ve] no one to call your own,
And its a lot like bein a woman
When you want to make a home
And be a mother,
And it hurts when you want it
So bad.
Hey, yeah.
When its love
Youve had and lost,
Thats the worst hurt
Youve ever had,
Waiting, waiting for a new love
To come along,
It may be, baby,
May be just as bad, lord.
Its a lot like bein a man
When you[ve] no one to call your own,
And
Its a lot like bein a woman
When ya want
To make a home
And be a mother,
And it hurts
When ya want it so bad.
When ya want it,
Want it so bad.
When ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya,
When ya want it.
When ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya,
When ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya,
When ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya, when ya,
[when ya want it so bad.]

True Friendship

To me white lilies signify.
Ceremonies when people die.
The sad occasions we attend
to mourn a relative or friend.

When duty calls we must obey.
Although we’d rather stay away
from all the pomp and the pretence
but hesitate to give offence.

That all must die we do accept
we go to demonstrate respect
and by attending show support.
A vain attempt to give comfort

to loved ones who are left behind.
The dead are deaf and dumb and blind.
The service ends the mourners leave.
Then they are left alone to grieve

in their own time in their own way.
We know there’s nothing we can say
which will alleviate their distress.
Their sense of loss and hopelessness.

To me white lilies signify
ceremonies when people die.
Though later when you need support
most do not spare a single thought

for you except the faithful few
willing to spend time with you.
In the same way they’ve always done.
So that you won’t feel so alone.

They say that passing time will heal
the sore distress which you now feel.
I know too well it isn’t true
That’s why I’m always here for you

A friend on whom you can rely
if you need to talk or cry.
I know what you are going through.
Because my friend I’ve been there too.

White lilies quickly fade away
Good friends do not they’re here to stay.
You are my friend I care for you
and am prepared to show I do.

Being Kind

Please don't worry now about the mornin'
When it's time we'll sip our wine and sleep
Woah, but i've been known
To love more than one person
Woah, and i've been shown
That bein' kind can hurt someone sometimes
Listen to my words now look no further
What you've seen is what i mean no more
Woah, but i've been known
To love more than one person
Woah, and i've been shown
That bein' kind can hurt someone sometimes
Don't dream of answers cause you know i've none to give
They burn like cancers they just won't let you live
I've been known
To love more than one person
And i've been shown
That bein' kind can hurt someone sometimes
Don't dream of answers cause you know i've none to give
We move like dancers steppin on each other to live
And pouncin hard
Like animals in the yard
And there's no healin, lookin, feelin
There's no denyin that bein kind can hurt
Someone sometimes
Oh, there's no denyin, woah lord there's no denyin
That bein' kind can hurt someone sometimes

Bein Green

Its not easy bein green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer bein red or yellow or gold
Or something much more colorful like that
Its not easy bein green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over
cause youre not standing out like flashy sparkles
On the water or stars in the sky
But green is the color of spring
And green can be cool and friendly like
And green can be big like an ocean
Or important like a mountain or tall like a tree
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why
But why wonder, why wonder?
I am green and itll do fine, its beautiful
And I think its what I want to be

Natalia’s Resurrection: Sonnet XXII

The thought of night consoled him. To his vision
Natalia was dead only in false death,
The sleeping treason of some false misprision,
Some silent mystery of shortened breath,
Not dead in truth for ever and to him,
Or to that other life his dream foretold:--
Her murderers these. And in his heart the whim
Rose he should draw her from her cincture cold,
And set his lips upon her lips once more,
And free her spirit thus from its dull trance,
And all should be between them as before,
Only more dear for her deliverance.
And darkly there he smiled as, their work done,
The mourners left him with their dead alone.

Man, Woman, And Child

blackness....
ache, wound raw
with freedom's stripes.

hallowed ground,
...or hollow sound?
the ghosts of the dead,

mourn....
not just words,
a way of life,

a sense of being,
equal with dignity!
sold too cheaply,

by those without conscience....
but our fathers stand
with memory's sword!

right or wrong,
can only choose right...
human demands human,

every man, woman, and child!

These Chains

These chai-ains won't keep me from bein' a free man
I'm doin' what I can to get out of here
And these chai-ains won't keep me from seein' my freedom
I'm changin' my name and startin' over agai-ain
I was a foo-ool for a good lookin' woman
Till I found out the hard way there was some other man
Now what else could I do, how could anyone blame me
He was standin' there smilin' with a gun in his ha-and
These chai-ains won't keep me from bein' a free man
I'm doin' what I can to get out of here
And these chai-ains won't keep me from seein' my freedom
I'm changin' my name and startin' over again
She had a known reputation but I paid no attention
With love and affection, can make anything right
The judge had no mercy for my infatuation
He said killin's a sin boy, you gotta pay-ay the price
These chai-ains won't keep me from bein' a free man
I'm doin' what I can to get out of here
And these chai-ains won't keep me from seein' my freedom
I'm changin' my name and startin' over again
Down the hall there's a window, you can barely fit through it
And deep in the night I see the lights of town
And it started me thinkin' 'bout a mystical ladder
That's as high as these walls and I'm climbin' it rung by-y ru-ung
These chains won't keep me from bein' a free man
I'm doin' what I can to get out of here
And these chai-ains won't keep me from seein' my freedom
I'm changin' my name and startin' over again
These chai-ains won't keep me from bein' a free man
I'm doin' what I can to get out of here
These chai-ains won't keep me from seein' my freedom

Lonely Together

Music & Lyrics by Kenny Nolan
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your eyes are sad eyes
Mine are too
It doesn't take too much to see
What we've been through
You lost your baby
And me the same
Ain't it true how love's a hurtin' game
Could I have this dance
May I be so bold
It's just my arms are empty
And the night is so cold
Wouldn't it be fine bein' lonely together
Wouldn't it be fine havin' a shoulder to share
You could tell me how he broke your heart
And I'll tell you how she broke mine
And maybe later on I could take you home
Now wouldn't it be sad bein' lonely all alone
A heart that's hurtin's
Not hard to see
I guess he promised you the world
Like she did me
But dry your eyes now
You'll be just fine
We can drown our achin' hearts in this glass of wine
Well I hate to say
What's done is done
It's just two can ease the pain
Much better than one
Wouldn't it be fine bein' lonely together
Wouldn't it be fine havin' a shoulder to share
You could tell me how he broke your heart
And I'll tell you how she broke mine
And maybe later on I could take you home
Now wouldn't it be sad bein' lonely all alone
Love
It's such a crazy thing
All you got to give and no regrets
But love
It can live again
Stay with me tonight
I'll make it work out right
Wouldn't it be fine bein' lonely together
Wouldn't it be fine havin' a shoulder to share
You could tell me how he broke your heart
And I'll tell you how she broke mine
And maybe later on I could take you home
Now wouldn't it be sad bein' lonely all alone

A Dream Lies Dead

A dream lies dead here. May you softly go
Before this place, and turn away your eyes,
Nor seek to know the look of that which dies
Importuning Life for life. Walk not in woe,
But, for a little, let your step be slow.
And, of your mercy, be not sweetly wise
With words of hope and Spring and tenderer skies.
A dream lies dead; and this all mourners know:

Whenever one drifted petal leaves the tree-
Though white of bloom as it had been before
And proudly waitful of fecundity-
One little loveliness can be no more;
And so must Beauty bow her imperfect head
Because a dream has joined the wistful dead!
