Sense of loss

About you I think
Then could not blink
I gaze in the skies
With wandering eyes
Those feelings of love
Why kept I above
I think about the days
Falling of the rays
When do we play
On the ocean’s bay
I sob for the days

Sob for the past
That could not last
Left me all alone
To groan and mourn
The loss of emotions
I mourn and bemoan
Love’s sojourn
I swear of my soul
I can not condole

Loss of sense
Sense of loss

Loss Of...

Loss it seems is the worst kind of sorrow
Loss of dreams, the dreams of tomorrow

Loss of the moments you two should have shared
Loss of opportunities to show her you cared

Loss of the memories you both could have created
Loss of the romance once intense as you dated

Loss of a kiss, caress, or embrace
Loss of that special feeling no one else can replace

Loss of a look, the twinkle in her eye
Loss of the touch as you pass each other by

Loss of a future, from a past of regret
Loss of a last chance, how many do you get

Loss of a promise you never meant to break
Loss of two hearts that forever will ache

Loss Lost in Thought

Loss of love from your partner in soul:
A.k.a. jilt;
Loss of love from your bygones of souls:
A.k.a. mourning;
Loss of love which came from a dearth
Of love through rescinding love:
A.k.a. hatred;

Love to science in analysis be
Secretion of oxytocin in association
With an entity that leads to bonding - so boring:
A.k.a. must all suffer scientific explanation?

Loss of love, a catastrophe, nay!
So love, nurture love, and be loved!

Loss of nature from dear Mother Earth:
A.k.a. destruction;
Loss of greed in material world:
A.k.a. always opportunity for altruism;
Loss of kindness and pity and all:
A.k.a. human nature has dark undertones;
Loss of ego and fire of desire:
A.k.a. loss may be good in consequence;
Loss of responsibility; humility:
A.k.a. loss may be unnerving.

Loss of Homo sapiens:
A.k.a. demise of the flawed primate - pinnacle of Darwinism - equates to
No art; music; poetry; debate, and

Everything innate ornate of human!
So concentrate please, on bliss of this.

l Losses Are Sometime Good...

Loss, most of the time bad. On occasion, great!

SOME TIME A LOSS CAN BE GOOD!

Can loss sometime be happy. You bet! Ask some
divorced couples.

The other guy had a loss and I won!

My ex had a loss, of most of our assets. Yes,
you guessed it, I got 'em!

Insurance companies, now there's some, that
many take great delight,
when they suffer a loss.

When the tax man does an audit, if they have
a loss, we have a win! (best kind of loss)

The person who brings suite against you,
suffers a loss. (Ain't that sweet?)

A hostile mother-in-law, suffers a loss,
when her daughter gets divorced.

When one experiences a weight loss.
Now that's something that would make
millions of people happy!

When the owner of your building, is deemed
to be, 'rent controlled, ' it brings a loss
to the greedy titleholder. (break out the champagne)

When the neighbor you hadn't spoken to for years,
has a loss, of the keys, to her car.

When the kid, who keeps running over your lawn,
with his bike, has a loss, of the two wheel monster.

When you child, who you love, but drives you nuts
with their loud music, has a broken stereo,
and a loss of music. (They're unhappy. You're ecstatic.)

When one has a loss of sleep, because their spouse
was amorous all night. (Ahhhh, the good old days.)

When your in-laws, prepare to come to your house,
for the first time, and have a loss of directions.

When your spouse, who cremates every barbecue
they ever handled, has a loss of the coals.
(Actually you hid them.)

When the know-it-all comes to your home, and
can't say a word, because they had a loss of
their dentures.

Remember...If you have a loss, sometime,
the loss is good!

I Remember who I lost

Like sad days I couldn’t stand,
or past loss I felt so sorrow,
I remember who I lost.

They were everything in my day, always in my heart.
I loved them and they loved me, but some where in time,
things happened.

I got caught up in confusion through my inner unconsciousness,
they were lost in the winds of circumstance.
Alone and betrayed came the ocean of tears and mark of mindlessness, all was a complete loss.

Ripped into deep things of paradox,
drifted once again past the safety line.
Even these words cry, as I set them in type,
knowing that it was everyone’s lack that brought about this smack,
that punished us all.

Again and again I loose them over and over as each light of day becomes light. When I see my eye’s in mirror I see them as living specters of love, that fade after the days concerns grip onto me.

At days end I take the steps slowly to another night that they will visit me in dreams almost like visions, crying at their presence, once again to know they are not here… with me.

I can’t find the right words to say the loss,
gravity of these heavy thought,
as I remember who I loss.

Writing for a past me, so that she might leave in peace.

There are days I write for a past me; a me hiding within this shell beneath a mask; a me that pushes my back against these cavernous wall, hoping, secretly, that they would finally cave in. The death of the person I used to once call me, hiding in there now, might be the best thing to happen yet.

She whispers in her tormented sleep that she's sorry. -For the aches, the pains, the hurt, the loss; that she would take it back if only she could, but hopes nonetheless that the more painful lessons of life have taught me well and remain with me still. She won't ask me to mourn her loss, as much as it hurts her to have her unremembered, but I see it in her eyes and mine that there will be days that I troupe back to pay my respects to this fountain -This fountain that learned to spill blood and sweat and tears amidst guilt, hard work and grit; I will remember it even as it splutters its last.

Perhaps I might consciously learn to forget, but somehow I feel I will spend days waking to find mementos picked up in my half-wandering sleep.

Lost In A House Fire

The loss of a child
The loss of a wife
Tis all the same as the loss of your own life
The loss of house and all that's inside
Tis all the same as if your whole soul had died
The loss of temper
Loss of faith and self-control
Tis all the same as knowing you have now grown very old
The loss of all memory when all is becalmed
When you find that your wife and child all safe and unharmed

Wishing For The Past

For Bobcat

After all these lonely years
Why do I still love you so much
Why do I still miss your smile
And still crave your touch

I hear your sweet voice
In my dreams each night
And I constantly wonder
How can I make this right

Still lost in the sweet dreams
I wake and reach for you
But your love is just a memory
A dream I wish would come true

Why do I still feel the loss
Down so deep in my soul
When will I understand it all
So my heart can be whole

You were not my first love
But I promise you will be my last
I will mourn your loss forever
Constantly wishing for the past

Opurtunity

Opportunity
Loss it seems is the worst kind of sorrow
Loss of a dream
Loss of a person
But what of the loss of opportunity
Opportunity for a dream
Opportunity for time with a person
Can not having the chance of loss
Be worse than loss itself
More prominent
More painful
An aching sense that if only you’d had the chance
You would at least have memories
Good
Bad
Would it matter as long as you could remember
Loss it seems is the worse kind of sorrow
But worse still is the loss of opportunity

Love Me (Villanelle)

Love me with sincerity,
with the true feelings in your heart
in times of loss and of prosperity

while our influence linger into posterity
and may our lives never part.
Love me with t sincerity,

as if our words and deeds are more than surety
in truthfulness that is something of an art
in times of loss and of prosperity

and when we are old without any dexterity
may our feelings then last and never depart.
Love me with sincerity

that brings feelings to a kind of clarity,
that daily anew does start
in times of loss and of prosperity.

and may we constantly act in solidarity
as if nothing our affections can thwart.
Love me with sincerity,
in times of loss and of prosperity.

To Debby On The Death Of Her Dad

To say sorry seems such an easy thing to say
But from you that won't take your sense of loss away
You have been burdened with a heavy cross
And time alone can only heal your sense of loss.

Old 98 for you it ended bad
The grim reaper from you he took your dad
I only can imagine how you must feel
But time the scars of sorrow always heal.

You've lost the hero of your childhood years
And he was one well worthy of your tears
But Debby your tears will bring to you relief
And help to heal your mental scars of grief.

Your father was a man I never knew
But he was one who meant so much to you
The life breath from his body may be gone
But his soul alive and well and living on.

I'm one of those with words who like to play
And to say sorry such an easy thing to say
And I can't feel the sense of loss you feel
And time itself the only thing that heal.

Jealous Nature

Earthly love so soon corrupts,
And others peace, it interrupts:
The jealous human nature fears
A loss, if other love appears.
It's not our choice; second place
Means loss of power, loss of face;
To give up our own sovereign crown,
And sense the ties that bind, unbound.
If our magic touch seems gone
We think it best to move along;
Place faith then in another heart,
Till death or some new love, doth part.

A Book, Never Read

Many, many years ago, I experienced a loss most profound;
Now I view the same as a blessing-a dichotomy to confound;
I no longer need solace; I no longer grieve-
Any sense of loss I may have felt, I begged its leave;
I think not of moments lost; nor of a life, without;
My mind has removed, forever and always, any doubt:
For, my most heart-wrenching loss is now my gain;
My heart's poignant relief, supplanted its deepest pain!

Nary hath a moment come, since this day of change,
Where my former sense of loss, seemed anything but strange;
I am begotten from what I lost, though there, it ends;
I live my life with this knowledge, no matter where it sends
Me, or any other I may love-for, he is now and ever, dead-
Gone forever, forgotten completely-as though a book, never read!

My Loss

Watching as you drive away
Speed away so fast
Knowing something's different now
That ending was our last
Nothing describes the emptiness filled inside
Take me to that place
Where everything's fine
And not a worry in mind
Sweeter to the taste
This is my loss (my loss)
I did it wrong and i'd do it again
To be with you feels like the right thing
This is my loss (my loss)
I did it wrong and i try to pretend
That nothing's changed for all that you bring
For all that you bring
Simple is so complex now
So I understand
That I never thought that happy could be distraught
Help me if you can
This is my loss (my loss)
I did it wrong and i'd do it again
To be with you feels like the right thing
This is my loss (my loss)
I did it wrong and i try to pretend
That nothing's changed for all that you bring
Well I know I'm wrong
And you know I'm here
I don't want to let you disapear
What am I worth when your eyes were
Begging me in fear
I only want to see you again
And repair the wounds that brought me in
I don't want to think it won't happen again
This is my loss (my loss)
I did it wrong and i'd do it again
To be with you feels like the right thing
This is my loss (my loss)
I did it wrong and i try to pretend
That nothing's changed for all that you bring
For all that you bring
For all that you bring
For all you bring

Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable

The death of a twelve year old,
Her sister shed tears,
But the body was cold,
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

She felt all had lost hope,
It was her fault,
'I let go the rope! '
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

'I should have pulled her up'
'I lost grip'
'I should'nt have given up! '
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

'You trusted me! '
'And there is no reason....'
' No you shouldn't have, see? '
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

'No! It's not your fault! ',
Said her sister,
Who lay dead in the vault,
Loss Unbearable, Loss Irrepearable.

Death Cannot Take (For Brian Smith)

Death parts us, and as we deal with loss
We try to scrape together the bits and pieces
That bound us together in life’s jetsam and floss
Things that touched us, the additions, the increases
The laughter, the wisdom, the passion, the love
That made even the darkest days brighter
That clarified and increased the quality of
Life and life’s mysteries and we try to anchor
With firm memory what death tries to end
To make sense of the senseless, to order this chaos,
To preserve what we gained, to keep, to append
To push back against the overwhelming sense of loss
Death only hurts where love lives
Death cannot take what love’s memory gives
