Happy birthday 007

So your Fifty years old now Mr Bond
your milestone gives us all a thrill
it's amazing you've lived this long
but then again you have a licence to kill.
To you The World is Not Enough
your attitude is Live and Let Die
but you've drank Martini's in the Casino Royale
and for the ladies you've had a GoldenEye.
You've tangled with lots of top villains
like Scaramanga who wasn't very nice
had a fight with the massive Jaws
and upset Blofeld in You Only Live Twice.
Death has escaped you by a mere second
and you knew you could Die Another Day
but like your Martini's your never stirred
and you've seduced beautiful women along the way.
So your still our top British spy 007
and On Her Majesty's Secret Service we say well done
so it's From Russia with love
and happy birthday to the Man with The Golden Gun!

James Bond celebrates fifty years in films this year
so I've incorporated some of his movie titles in this poem.

That Fifty Year Old Woman

That fifty year old woman
she is someones mother
that fifty year old woman
she is someones lover
them fifty years of her life
unseen by a cover.

Covered by the leaves
from the autumn trees is the grass
surrounded by blue tape
and nosey people who pretend to pass
a group of actors walk by
they have come from a history class
to make history new
with conversation with questions to ask.

A fifty year old woman
in an autumn so cold
a fifty year old woman
seen dark winter unfold
them fifty years of life
it is all we are told.

The actors, they didn't get any information
they did not get pictures
nothing known about the situation
nothing at all to discuss
fifty years of age is all thats said
on the morning paper on the fifty bus
thats all thats said
a fifty year old woman, shes found dead.

That fifty year old woman
shes not someones mother
that fifty year old woman
how she had no lover
them fifty years of life
unseen by a cover.

That fifty year old woman
she was quoted in the paper today
that fifty year old woman will be gone tomorrow
the writers they will show no sorrow
because its the way things work
as people pass
she no longer lies on grass
shes covered in dirt.

Together

Together we will live
Together we'll die
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Madness is fragile and fragile is she
In chaos she's agile and madness is me
We knew from the beginning it wasn't alright
Like being in a padded room for more than one night
Judgment escaped me I speak for us both
Like the bond that we made let's call it an oath
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Filled with the confidence of nothing to loose
Armed with an axe and a whole lot of booze
Plans were made down to each detail
With a plan like that how could we fail
We packed all our gear in the trunck of my brother's car
'Cause time is running out says the clock on the wall
Judgment escaped me I speak for us both
Like the bond that we made we call it an oath
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Madness is fragile and fragile is she
In chaos she's agile and madness is me
She had the key to keeping me insane
But now I'm gone and she's got to be tamed
As I am telling you as it is true
I'm on my way to bury you
Gonna put you down under
Gotta put you down under
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Together we will live
Together we'll die
Together we will live
Together we'll die

Mya's Martini

Martini the little shitsu was cute as can be,

Wagging his tail so carefree.

by the ocean with good friend Suzy.

Now he was very aware,

for when he got scared,

he hid under Mya’s desk

and there he would rest,

his head on Mya’s small feet,

then he’ld look up for a treat.

“Now why did you name him Martini? ”

I asked Mya quizzically one day.

Then Mya turned her head to say,

“Well, this is the story Sue Chevalier,

“Martini was named after the club

where people like to dance,

I met my husband Ron

there by circumstance.”

Now all 3 of them live together by the sea,

these are my sweet memories of

the Shitsu dog named Martini.

Fifty Years Of Marriage

With dye and hair colouring they cover their gray
Their fifty years of marriage they celebrate today
Through fifty years of marriage they have argued their way
In their love hate relationship one well might say.

Their better days one can say for them are long gone
And they age without grace though time is ticking on
Their children are grand-parents and the years on them show
Since they too are ageing and their fastest pace slow.

Fifty happy years together by some we are told
But others who know them well and with their words more bold
Will tell you they never did see eye to eye
But why they stay together one must wonder why.

They have stayed together for so many years
One can hardly say of them the lovely old dears
Since they both are quite quarrelsome and grumpy as well
Perhaps without quarrels life for them would be hell.

Fifty years together and the same bed they share
Yet even in public places at each other they swear
Such marriages as their's suppose never were rare
They are not the World's only dysfunctional pair.

Today their descendants will celebrate the marriage of their Pop and Gran
And applaud this wonderful woman and man
But the truth of their marriage they will never tell
How they seem to enjoy giving each other hell.

Happy Birthday Ernestine

While I was at Stratford last year,
I met a number of pretty young ladies
while I was there.
I say young ladies
as they were all young ladies to me
and Ernestine was one
of those young ladies I met there.
I got and gave a hug,
and I am hoping for the same this year,
but for now, it is your birthday.
My how time does fly around.
Happy Birthday and I hope
it will be remembered
as being one of the best
with a gathering of family and friends
around to help you see it through.
This little Birthday poem
comes from me to you,
to wish you a super Happy Birthday Ernestine.
May the happiness of today
be with you all the year through.

A Drink With Something In It

There is something about a Martini,
A tingle remarkably pleasant;
A yellow, a mellow Martini;
I wish I had one at present.
There is something about a Martini,
Ere the dining and dancing begin,
And to tell you the truth,
It is not the vermouth--
I think that perhaps it's the gin.

Bond

Bond
His name is James Bond
A small golden fish
Swimming in my pond

Along lines he rises
Cruises on the grid
Has many disguises
Hides and stays hid

Bond
His name is James Bond
A small golden fish
Of which I am very fond!

He's truly ambitios
He's fierce and vicious

Swimming with the fishes.

0009 A palinode

and there was this one
which I was particularly proud of
where I thought I’d caught
just the right pace, then
the change of pace when
the poem goes deeper
and then the perfectly chosen metaphor
with a rallentando
which made it musical
and ended it just
knock-’em-flat
sheer poetry

then last night
I read your poems
for the first time in oh fifty years
and there it was
almost identical and
I realised where I’d got it from
and the part of me that
wasn’t bruised ego wept inwardly without naming any cause

and maybe when I’ve recovered
and demoted my poem in
the collected works of pride
I’ll marvel at the power of poetry even if yours not mine
which can lie low in the mind
for fifty years and not only that
but may well, and here we should be careful
but reflective, respectful even awed,
have subtly infinitesimally but significantly
like some homeopathic almost unquantifiable tincture,
altered my whole life. For fifty years.

now that’s something

The Suicide

For fifty years,
Cruel, insatiable Old World.
You have punched me over the heart
Till you made me cough blood.
The few paltry things I gathered
You snatched out of my hands.
You have knocked the cup from my thirsty lips.
You have laughed at my hunger of body and soul.

You look at me now and think,
'He is still strong,
There ought to be twenty more years of good punching there.
At the end of that time he will be old and broken,
Not able to strike back,
But cringing and crying for leave
To live a little longer.'

Those twenty, pitiful, extra years
Would please you more than the fifty past,
Would they not, Old World?
Well, I hold them up before your greedy eyes,
And snatch them away as I laugh in your face,
Ha! Ha!
Bang —!

Zig Zags

She came home today from her vacation with an attitude
Told me she was leaving me for good
Said her love had died since she’d been gone
Now it was time for her to be moving on….
Then she asked me for the car keys and fifty bucks
Twenty five years of marriage and all she wanted
was fifty bucks and the keys to the car…
She won’t get far…

I've Been Condemned To Hell

Twenty three outings and he's still alive,
What's the secret that makes him thrive?
How the hell does he survive?
Only he can tell.

Bombs and bullets and falls from the sky,
Still they cannot make him die,
Death to him does not apply,
In survival he does excel.

All his enemies throughout the world,
Have ended up with their knickers curled,
Their respective plots he has unfurled,
Doesn't this man do well?

Poisoned drinks and crashes galore,
Laser beams which cut to the core,
His will to live is to the fore,
What's next we can't foretell.

Sharks and subs can't do him in,
Against all odds we know he'll win,
He really does get under our skin,
He has us under his spell.

Space adventures and fearsome foes,
He causes mayhem wherever he goes,
Why he's still alive nobody knows,
But this myth I will dispel.

His female friends his life of leisure,
This man knows how to get his pleasure,
He's looked on as our national treasure,
It's now time to say farewell.

In every outing they've let him live,
Now that is something I won't forgive,
He really is the ultimate spiv,
His invincibility I will now expel.

In every epic at the start,
His captors who are not that smart,
Give him the chance to up and depart,
He then kills the whole cartel.

But now I know the secrets out,
The normal protocols I will flout,
His services you'll now live without,
That will leave a nasty smell.

Throughout the years we've all been conned,
Now the truth has finally dawned,
In the opening scene I killed James Bond,

‘' On His Fate You Must Now Dwell ‘'

Twenty Fourth adventure it can't be true,
I know I gave him what was due,
My mission to kill him I saw it through,
I watched as 007 fell.

Now I've been informed James Bond is back,
Now it's me who's on the rack,
Very soon I'll be under attack,
I'll find him hard to repel.

Oh my God am I in trouble,
I didn't kill Bond it was his double,
In Skyfall he reduced me to rubble,

'' I've Been Condemned To Hell ''

Suicide

Martini on the rocks
Spilled over the tabletop
Wetting the Oakwood
Like a chemical spillage
Another stunned moment
The vacant chairs
Wondered, why on earth
The spill ever took place
No one has attended to the beverage
Since the long leftover
If someone had needed someone
To feel lively, then the Martini
Shouldn't have spilled out
And abandoned without an enthusiast
Damage has been done indiscriminately
Nothing was perfect
When nothing went wrong
The Martini was just another victim
Of circumstances
Ironically, the other patrons
Were too high to notice
The mishaps
Two hours later
A headline ripped apart the nation
A young body of a woman
Was cut into two, under the train
With a note miraculously attached
‘Martini, my love needs a u-turn ‘

Happy birthday(cruel undertone reveled)

Happy birthday today you were born,

happy birthday you die a little more,

happy birthday here's to another year of suffering,

happy birthday eat some yummy cake while you slowly deteriorate,

happy birthday your dying as we speak,

isn't it ironic that we are celebrating your birth while were also celebrating your death,

so happy birthday today

your turn 15

I wish you a less suffering year

and a nice peaceful death

18.07.2009 James Bond & Riddick

James Bond movies - tonight’s edition
of From Russia With Love – are meant
for consumers – I’m an avid consumer
of James Bond movies

Always ready to hang on Sean Connery’s
lips, admire the heroine, weave a new
dream around the Bond framework, no
work or reading done

Tonight is filled with fun, Chronicles Of
Riddick* coming up, his voice, his mag-
nificent poise, everything conspires to
create the ultimate hero

I LOVE getting swept off my feet by
movie hero’s; sharing the aberrations
of 21st century consumer society…

* Vin Diesel in “Chronicles of Riddick” and
even more enchanting in “The Pacifier”.

Of Life And Of Nature

I knew just as much about them fifty years ago
Of Life and of Nature as now I do know
Though from our dealings with people we learn every day
We learn as we live as some are known to say

But Nature of course is a different thing
And though the praises of Nature the Poets may sing
And though from living near Nature insights from her we do gain
Her secrets from us as great mysteries remain.

Even since the invention of the first motor car
Human kind in technology have gone so far
But the greatest are mere mortals just like you and I
And great minds are born and great minds must die.

The achievements of human kind doubtless are great
But Nature out of nothing something can create
And about Nature and Life today fifty years ago as much I knew
But each day from living we learn something new.
