My Woman

You are the delicate petals of my flower
The joyous sun at waking hour.
You saturate my soul
Like april shower,
And you glow
Like a sunset sinking,
Winking,
A fond goodnight.
A waterfall,
You teem in silver cascade.
I sit and watch
Through sun kissed forest glade
- As you bloom
With colours of Autumnal morning
And perfume of a new day dawning.
I drink it in
With bated breath
Holding it until death
Or until you say
You are my woman.
That day
- When vanilla skies
With azure spray
Will melt us away to heaven.

April Flower

Bloom for me,
My April flower.
Show your beauty,
I'll take a gander.

The wind scatters your scent
Giving me the feeling of heaven.
You're the perfection i've dreamt,
The one that i've chosen.

Bloom for me,
My April Flower,
And let me see,
Your petals that matches no other.

I know you're not mine
And you did not grew for me
I can only see you again this time
Unable to resist fate's cruelty.

Bloom for me,
My April Flower,
Though we're not destined to be,
Stay in my heart and take shelter.

In my heart, you will not wilt,
You will eternally bloom..
Even if i am burdened by this guilt,
and love is my certained doom.

Bloom for me for the last time,
At least i can call this moment mine
Ignore my reasons that doesn't rhyme,
Show me your beauty that i can't define.

Bloom..for all eternity..April Flower.

Portulacca

As soon as I open my eyes,
I quietly rush to the balcony,
And watch with bated breath
As the Sun rises.

Dainty Portulacca come to life,
As if to say Hi.
In their vibrant hues and colours:
Yellow pink, red and orange flowers,
In small pots lined in a row,
Full of light and glow.

Enchanted, I watch them for a while
And feel happy and smile.
As I gently spray them with showers,
I am filled with a sense of wonder.

How these delicate flowers can be so sturdy,
And keep blooming despite hot dry winds,
Which makes us humans wilt,
I thought with a little guilt.

It’s really thoughtful of God,
To send these flowers when it’s so hot.
As the heat becomes too much to bear
These pretty flowers fill me with cheer.

His Wife and Baby

In the lone place of the leaves,
Where they touch the hanging eaves,
There sprang a spray of joyous song that sounded sweet and sturdy;
And the baby in the bed
Raised the shining of his head,
And pulled the mother's lids apart to wake and watch the birdie.
She kissed lip-dimples sweet,
The red soles of his feet,
The waving palms that patted hers as wind-blown blossoms wander;
He twined her tresses silk
Round his neck as white as milk
'Now, baby, say what birdie sings upon his green spray yonder.'

'He sings a plenty things
Just watch him wash his wings!
He says Papa will march to-day with drums home through the city.
Here, birdie, here's my cup.
You drink the milk all up;
I'll kiss you, birdie, now you're washed like baby clean and pretty.'

She rose, she sought the skies
With the twin joys of her eyes;
She sent the strong dove of her soul up through the dawning's glory;
She kissed upon her hand
The glowing golden band
That bound the fine scroll of her life and clasped her simple story.

St. Irvyne's Tower

I.
How swiftly through Heaven's wide expanse
Bright day's resplendent colours fade!
How sweetly does the moonbeam's glance
With silver tint St. Irvyne's glade!

II.
No cloud along the spangled air,
Is borne upon the evening breeze;
How solemn is the scene! how fair
The moonbeams rest upon the trees!

III.
Yon dark gray turret glimmers white,
Upon it sits the mournful owl;
Along the stillness of the night,
Her melancholy shriekings roll.

IV.
But not alone on Irvyne's tower,
The silver moonbeam pours her ray;
It gleams upon the ivied bower,
It dances in the cascade's spray.

V.
'Ah! why do dark’ning shades conceal
The hour, when man must cease to be?
Why may not human minds unveil
The dim mists of futurity?--

The heart which opens to its blast;
Despised, neglected, and forlorn,
Sinks the wretch in death at last.'

In April

I
AS lightly as a filmy veil
That folds the April larch,
My tenderest joy drops like a dream
Down from the buds of March,
My dim sweet joy that fills the wood
From delicate arch to arch.
My frailest joy that draws my heart
Out from its prison bar,
Whose step is swifter and more sweet
Than all Spring's blossoms are,
My trembling joy that holds my soul
Up like a ransomed star.
What shall I do to keep my joy,
That has become so dear,
Who dare not stir to hold it close,
My joy that is so near,
That wraps me with a filmy veil
So woven in with fear.

II
IF I should lose these petals you let fall
To my stretched hand,
If through the leaf-buds I should miss them all,
And empty stand,
The April flowers their petals would recall
Throughout the land.
If I should lose these shining clouds of white
Flying like doves,
To some embowered region shut from sight
Their spirit moves,
The glory would drop out of all the light
That April loves.
If I should miss to toss my reckless heart
Up to the sky,
Through every spray your careless fingers part
As you go by,
In every budding place where blossoms start,
April would die.

III
AH, do not let your spirit fail me now,
Now while the winds are sweet,
Now while the sun slips through the willow-bough
In patterns to my feet,
While shadows like mad rivers run,
Over the grass to fly the sun,
Ah, do not fail me now.
Now while the burnished poplars swing and play,
Like sails that would be free
To reach the untravelled azure far away,
And take the aerial sea,
Yet are too joyous in a birth
That binds them to the radiant earth,
Ah, fail me not to-day.
Ah, do not fail me while the unbroken dews
Hang like a captive shower,
In vagrant places that my wanderings choose
To cherish into flower;
Ah, do not let your spirit fail
My spirit, while the hours prevail
That only love can use.

IV
MUST I walk lonely underneath the seas
Of April's blossom, watch the shining drift
Of clustered bloom through all the apple-trees,
With never an azure rift,
Look upward through the glistening cherry-bough,
For ever lonely now.
Must I go empty through sweet lanes of thorn,
And see their wands flowered in fleecy white,
Stretching through all the land now Spring is born,
To fill the fields with light,
Must I stand empty for sweet April's sake
To watch the leaf-buds break.
Now when the primrose beds are palest gold,
And cuckoo-flowers stand sentinel in the grass,
Must I see all the joys of April told,
And through them joyless pass,
In all the love that drops from April's sky,
Must I go loveless by.

V
I CALL you through the sapphire deep
That hides the folded shrouds of sleep,
Along the amethystine way
That stretches in the wake of day.
Through all the pearly lakes that soon
Flow through the skies below the moon,
Through all the heaven's wide sea of light
I call you from the caves of night.
Through all earth's bitter prayers that press
Up from its floods of loneliness,
To find some pity for their pain,
I call you to my heart again.

VI
OH, do you doubt the ways,
The paths of breaking fire,
My chariot wheels shall take these April days
With swift desire,
The road whose delicate shadows are ablaze
With quivering flames that neither drop nor tire.
Oh, do you doubt they strayed
Down from the heavenly hill,
My captive steeds whose passionate feet are made
To be so still,
Whose breath stirs tenderly as wind-flowers laid
In tremulous dreams the April moonlights fill.
Fear not my steeds shall fail
To keep their high estate,
Their foreheads are new-crowned with stars that pale
The moons of fate;
Ah, do not doubt my chariot shall avail
To bring you surely to the Eternal Gate.

Departure

As yesterday was dawning.
I vanished into the skies.
Soaring under rainbow arch.
Past clouds of lullabies.
Unknown coloured birds
In formation flew.
With utterly beautiful tunes,
Feathered choir
Disappeared from view.

A gossamer breeze
With the breath of a rose
Brought flowers to life
Once comatose.
Now blazing below
Like suns on stalks
Amazing
They glow,
As beauty talks.

On yesterday evening
When twilght was nigh
I bathed in the sea
Of a sunset sky.
That solar dance,
Beauty in slow motion.
Winking its goodbye.
Sinking into the ocean.

Come yesterday night
A necklace of stars
Gleamed,
Hung under a moon face
As Heaven dreamed.
Then silence.
Whispering much more
Than any word
When every loving sigh
In your heart will be heard.
With my departure
Into blue.
Where I'll wait my love
For only you.

Overwhelming World Suite

Written by gerry beckley, 1998
Found on human nature.
[overwhelming world]
Overwhelming world tied up in a knot
Anything you ask is everything i've got
I can't let go
It's all you need
It's all i know
Tiny little girl wakens in the night
Was it just a dream, will she be alright
It's hard to say
There's so much more
Beyond her door
Hidden in the heart buried in the soul
Everybody's wondering if where they are going, they're going alone
Carried on the wind
Up above the stars alone
A spark from a fire ignited a long time ago
[come back]
Every single moment
Every waking hour
I can see your beauty
Like an open flower
Just like a flower
Won't you come back, come back to me
Won't you come back, come back to me
There with your head in your hands
I sware that you don't understand
That you and i were meant to be
I can feel you breathing
As you lay beside me
Nothing but a memory
That you can't deny me
You can't deny me
Every single moment
Every waking hour
I can feel your beauty
Like an open flower
Just like a flower
Won't you come back, come back to me
Won't you come back, come back to me
[barstow]
Barstow, barstow
Meet you in the morning
Barstow, barstow
As the day is dawning
Sunrise out on the freeway in the morning
Meeting you as the day is dawning
Counting the minutes to go
Barstow (barstow), barstow
Showcase of the southland
Barstow (barstow), barstow
Living hand to mouth and
Somewhere on the horizon in the distance
Seeing you there with no resistance
Counting the seconds to go
Sunrise out on the freeway in the morning
Meeting you as the day is dawning
Counting the seconds to go

This Flower

This Flower

This flower with petals so soft to touch
Cradles nature's portal
Where waves rise
and sweet ambrosia falls

This flower with petals so delicate and refined
Lay at the entryway of an open vessel
Waiting with a velvet whisper
to be filled with the seeds of nature's life

This flower with petals so tame and silent
Begs the onlooker to experience it's hiddenness
And after one look, one taste
She has caught her prize

Wild Flowers Of Australia

Oh say not that no perfume dwells;
The wilding flowers among,
Say not that in the forest dells
Is heard no voice of song.

The air is laden with the scent
Borne from the clustering flower,
With which the wattle is besprent;
Like Danae’s golden shower.

And silv’ry wattles bending low,
Sweet incense scatter far—
When night-winds kiss the pensile bough,
Beneath the evening star.

And there are flowers of varying dye;
Now white, now blushing red,
Their beauteous blossoms charm the eye,
And fragrant odours shed.

There’s perfume breath’d from Austral flowers,—
And melody is there
Not such as in far Albion’s bowers
Falls on th’ accustom’d ear.

But thrilling snatches of wild song,
Pour’d forth from lonely glen—
Where winds the hidden creek along
Far from the haunts of men.

And hoarser notes in wild woods heard
Sound like strange harmonies,
As flashes past the bright-winged bird
Gleaming in azure skies.

Then say not that no perfume dwells,
The wilding flowers among;
Say not that in the forest dells
Is heard no voice of song!

Strangling watch he re-arranges

How long will it last, this happiness I'm feeling?
Long enough for me to shed the skin I'm peeling?

Slow baked beneath the golden yoke of summers ego
Lay the sanctuary of winter’s snow.
Lies asylum for those that know, for those who seek
The glow of the forest trail, who await the girl named Guess to show.

Always to try, always to fail, whether it be upon the
Astral plain or it be digging in dirt for the glow worm
Awaiting an excuse.

Watch him squirm, watch him change,
Strangling watch he re-arranges
Deranged within debauchery,
Whilst accusations of sorcery made him laugh,
Made him cry, If only he had the time to pass he said as he whimpered
His last sigh, as he kissed the sky goodnight, mourning the death of
Memory, the death of the sun he would never again have kiss his cheek
Goodbye.

New Year

WHITE year, white year,
Muffled soft in snow,
A diamond spray whose gems are gone
Before their grace we know,
A crystal-coated spray whose hours
Melt when looked upon,
Hoarfrost stars and hoarfrost flowers,
White year!
Green year, green year,
Sweet with sun and showers,
A windblown spray whose blossoms bright
Are the seven-colored hours,
A dancing spray whose leaves are days,
A spray whose leaves delight
In azure gleam and silver haze,
Green year!
New Year, new year
From rosy leaf to gold,
A shining spray on the Tree of Time
Where myriad sprays unfold,
A spray so fair that God may see
And gather it, bloom and rime,
To deck the doors of Eternity,
New Year!

Snow

Down out of heaven,
Frost-kissed
And wind driven,
Flake upon flake,
Over forest and lake,
Cometh the snow.

Folding the forest,
Folding the farms,
In a mantle of white;
And the river’s great arms,
Kissed by the chill night
From clamor to rest,
Lie all white and shrouded
Upon the world’s breast.

Falling so slowly
Down from above,
So white, hushed, and holy,
Folding the city
Like the great pity
Of God in His love; 20
Sent down out of heaven
On its sorrow and crime,
Blotting them, folding them
Under its rime.

Fluttering, rustling,
Soft as a breath,
The whisper of leaves,
The low pinions of death,
Or the voice of the dawning,
When day has its birth,
Is the music of silence
It makes to the earth.

Thus down out of heaven,
Frost-kissed
And wind driven,
Flake upon flake,
Over forest and lake,
Cometh the snow.

my soul
vow in your prestige
honor Lord,
cripple and wary, sweat hold
my breath and
fear of thirst in your blessing
of forgiveness, now behold,
the sun rise in
the morning midst
where I offer my destiny

come adore
my presence, the light
that cried beyond the pedestal
of fame; joy but trouble in
the abundance of faded silver,
await dear Lord
God, all are just nothing
to capture except the
mighty light glitter in the dawning
bloom of the
ended day of forever glow

tie my mighty hour
of soft and smooth speed
of light, Lord thy spirit comes

Endless verse of a nameless flora:

A lonely lovely girl was Standing at her breeze filled balcony,
her adorable heart was admiring the quiet moon in harmony,
a golden yellowish nameless flower fell on her feet,
the sweet perfume of the fallen flower blended with that chill breeze,
while she tried to hold the flower the petals they fell one by one,
she was holding just the stalk that was left alone,
tear drops that escaped from her eyes fell one by one like the petals,
she was holding someone's sweet memories like the stalk.
The moon wished that her love should blend with her love like the perfume in the air.

Fairies On The Sea Shore. By Howard

FIRST FAIRY.

MY home and haunt are in every leaf,
Whose life is a summer day, bright and brief,--
I live in the depths of the tulip's bower,
I wear a wreath of the cistus flower,
I drink the dew of the blue harebell,
I know the breath of the violet well,--
The white and the azure violet;
But I know not which is the sweetest yet,--
I have kiss'd the cheek of the rose;
I have watch'd the lily unclose,
My silver mine is the almond tree,
Who will come dwell with flower and me?

CHORUS OF FAIRIES.

Dance we our round, 'tis a summer night,
And our steps are led by the glow-worms' light.

SECOND FAIRY.

My dwelling is in the serpentine
Of the rainbow's colour'd line,--
See how its rose and amber clings
To the many hues of my radiant wings;
Mine is the step that bids the earth
Give to the iris flower its birth,
And mine the golden cup to hide,
Where the last faint hue of the rainbow died.
Search the depths of an Indian mine,
Where are the colours to match with mine?

CHORUS.

Dance we round, for the gale is bringing
Songs the summer rose is singing.

THIRD FAIRY.

I float on the breath of a minstrel's lute,
Or the wandering sounds of a distant flute,
Linger I over the tones that swell
From the pink-vein'd chords of an ocean-shell;
I love the sky-lark's morning hymn,
Or the nightingale heard at the twilight dim,
The echo, the fountain's melody,--
These, oh! these are the spells for me!

CHORUS.

Hail to the summer night of June;
See! yonder has risen our ladye moon.

FOURTH SPIRIT.

My palace is in the coral cave
Set with spars by the ocean wave;
Would ye have gems, then seek them there,--
There found I the pearls that bind my hair.
I and the wind together can roam
Over the green waves and their white foam,--
See, I have got this silver shell,
Mark how my breath will its smallness swell,
For the Nautilus is my boat
In which I over the waters float,--
The moon is shining over the sea,
Who is there will come sail with me?

CHORUS OF FAIRIES.

Our noontide sleep is on leaf and flower,
Our revels are held in a moonlit hour,--
What is there sweet, what is there fair,
And we are not the dwellers there?
Dance we round, for the morning light,
Will put us and our glow-worm lamps to flight!

Goodnight My Friend

Goodnight my sun
Goodnight my friend
Rest your soul at this
Long days end
The fire inside
Will warm our night
And daddys arms will
Hold you tight
Dream of summer skies
Sunset is bound to each sunrise
Rest is your first right
My friend goodnight
This world spinning
Time always winning
The silver chains keep thinning and
This is just your beginning
Sleep my friend
At last be free
No we wont forget
Our merriest melody
Gone to another place
Of carousel rides round an angels face
Im sure wed both laugh at the sight
My friend goodnight

The Call Of April

April calling, April calling,
April calling me!
I hear the voice of April there
In each old apple tree:
Bee-boom and wild perfume,
And wood-brook melody,
O hark, my heart, and hear, my heart,
The April Ecstasy!

Hark to the hills, the oldtime hills,
That talk with sea and sky!
Or speak in murmurs with God's winds
Who on their bosoms lie:
Bird-call and waterfall
And white clouds blowing by,
O hark, my heart, O hear, my heart,
The April's cosmic cry!

There runs a whisper through the woods,
The word of bough to bough,
A sound of dead things donning green,
Of Beauty waking now:
Fern-bower and wilding flower,
Each like a prayer or vow,
O see, my heart, O look, my heart,
Where Earth crowns white her brow!

And far away, and far away,
Yet nearer than she seems,
Look where she takes the oldtime trail
And walks again with dreams:
Bird note and blue remote
And laughter of wild streams,
O hark, my heart, O hear, my heart,
And follow where she gleams!

Earth has put off her winter garb
Of gray and drab and dun,
And robes herself in raiment green
Of love and laughter spun:
Wood-bloom and wood-perfume
And colors of the sun,
O hark, my heart, O hear, my heart,
Where her wild footsteps run!

O April, mother of my soul,
Take to your heart your child:
And let him lie a little while
Upon its rapture wild:
Lean close and near, and let him hear
The words that once beguiled,
And on his eyes the kiss again
Of longing reconciled.

O kiss, that fills the fields with flowers
And thrills with green each grove,
Dream down into this heart again
And grow to songs thereof:
Wild songs in singing throngs,
That swift shall mount above,
And, like to birds, with lyric words,
Take Earth and Heaven with love.

Cascade

Sweet water.
Coloured every shade,
By rainbow that caught my tears.
Crashing wild
Ocean child.
Through all the special years.
As sunset bled.
Love ran barefoot through my head.
My soul
Danced across the esplanade
To find horizons.
Where she had laid
That seascape down.
Where our dreams cascade.
Such joy
Is never real.
Until looking back.
Then you feel
All love that was made.
In naked moonlight
Under cascade.
She washed me clean.
No shooting star
That has ever been
Has ever seen
Such burning night.
Started by a raging sight
Of loving eyes.
Now rushing
Gushing
Before it dies.
Like a million hearts
With silver darts.
That waterfall.
When passion starts
We steal,
Like midnight raid.
Unreal.
That sprinkling
Twinkling
Cascade, .
