On Christmas morning
Once lit by dawning
I'd kiss her
Through frosted window pane.
Watching
Pure beauty laughing
As snowflakes tickled her nose.
Way before my dreams had froze.
Someone sent her in ribbons and bows.
As Santa Claus
Had read my mind again.
Her eyes
My Christmas lights.
Her lips
To thaw my nights.
Would Yuletide bliss
Knock on my door again?

Holding hands to church
Fervantly
I would pray
To silent music
She would sway.
And our hearts danced together
Beating free of pain.
Our families past and present
Would sit in joy again.
Candles would be lit
Like promises of an astral plane.
A crackling festive spirit
As magical incense
filled the air.
I'd chase her
And embrace her.
Singing carols in duet.
There,
Our sunset
Of emotions free to roam.
As I carry her back home.
She would say
Don't forget
I love you Kevin.
In her red woolly hat
- A set
With matching mitten.
I would blow an iced kiss
Heaven bound
As I lay smitten,
Way above to my Lord.
With angel harp sound.
My first Christmas with Linda
Soared
High above the ground.
To strike that chord
First played

As a love song
To our maker.
Christmas without Linda
The ultimate
Heartbreaker.

Please
Never to say goodbye.
Let us gather again
And sigh.
By mass at midnight.
With vows by lovelight.

To plunge
The depths of all oceans.

Scents Of Christmas' Past

When just a small girl, I seem now to remember when,
There was a special scent of Christmas in our home,
How the Christmas evergreen’s pine perfume,
Room to room, would seem to roam.

Even sounds seemed different back then,
Then they do somehow today,
Don’t know if it’s because I’ve grown accustom to them,
Not filled with that child-like excitement,
In my remembered, childhood Christmas way.

Maybe it’s because the nest is empty now?
Of my children’s laughter and joy,
Somehow that’s what Christmas Day sounds should be,
Filled up with little children,
All playing with their Christmas toys.

So when on Christmas morning,
As they all would rise,
They’d all run down to view the miracle,
Of Santa’s Clauses’ big surprise.

Then mom would brew some hot cocoa up,
Float some tiny marshmallows on their tops,
And every child would place their presents aside for awhile,
While they drank up every luscious drop.

Then all the relatives would arrive,
And share in the Christmas feast mom always had,
This is what I remember
All the joy the scents of Christmas
That always made me glad.

Christmas brings lights that lighten every alley.
Christmas fills the void of each heart's saddened valley.
Christmas brings Santa with surprising gifts of toys.
Christmas brings laughter to mainly girls and boys.
Christmas brings carols sung by mellifluous voices.
Christmas brings fantasies that suit many choices.
Christmas adds glamour to the choicest street's splendour.

The Window of Heaven

The window of Heaven is open,
The angels can fly to and fro,
And those that I love can all gather,
And look down at Christmas below.

For Christmas is special in Heaven,
The love is so easy to see,
And down from the window at Christmas,
God sends a present to me.

'I will forever be with you,
Your side, I shall always be near,
And though you may not always see me,
In your heart I will always be there.

I will warm up your soul during Christmas,
My love is a fire burning bright,
Then my blanket of love will surround you,

Childs Christmas

Children's Christmas
Wee loved ones so sincere,
Their happy loving Christmas
Fill wee ones all good cheer.

Christmas fun starts straight away
When Christmas tree, decorations
Show Christmas on the way,

Oh thoughts of Santa on the sleigh
Little thoughts just can not wait
To be on Christmas day.

As we adults think us back on time
To blissful happy childhood ways,
Well we know our childhood days
Filled us in our realms,

And every coming Christmas
Filled us in our dreams.

Christmas eve dreams kids to sleep
Wee heads sleep pillow Christmas glow,

Sweet dreams see Father Christmas
Come reindeer through the snow,

Christmas morning church bell chimes
Ring church bell Christmas sounds,
Little feet jump out of bed
Think Santa been his rounds,

And quickly rush to find their toys
All through Christmas day

Something About Christmas

There is something about Christmas,
In Santa Claus and twinkling trees,
In the joy and laughter of every child,
People kneeling in prayer on arthritic knees.

There is something about Christmas,
Though many wishes and dreams may fail.
It is something we have learned to accept
Through each Yuletide trail.

There is something about Christmas,
Something that overwhelms the heart,
And it is displayed in every household
Of thoughtful and gentle people miles apart.

There is something about Christmas,
A magnificent day for old and young,
For it seems that people are more pleasant
When the traditional carols are sung.

There is something about Christmas,
A day of grace and visions of peace
And nothing on earth can destroy it.
Joy and peace on earth will never cease.

There is something about Christmas
When church bells ring and candles glow,
Signaling that Christ was born in a manger
In the holy city of Bethlehem - years ago.
