The
From my walking
on the earth
it hurts;
for reasons unknown to me,
to feel
the breath of the wind
and the sigh of the sea's
like a frigid, barren
icy breeze.
And there's something cold
that lays it's head,
on the lovely warmth
of natures bed
that seems to remind me
of how it feels
to rove among
these empty fields

Winter Breeze
The winter breeze
Seems frigid to me.
As I sit in the park
All alone.
The limbs of the trees,
Don't sway or move
Along with the winter breeze...
The tire swing moves,
Occupant free...
While the leaf barren trees
Shiver in the winter breeze.
Even the most playful and darring children,
Wont be caught in the cold.
This winter breeze
Seems frigid to me....
I cant wait for spring....

Earth Wind Fire
Maurice white & skip scarborough
Are you satisfied
In your life and time
Does it clear you mind
With all the hurt you find
Built on mother earth
They were meant to stay
Nations bloom today
On gifts of yesterday
Born of the earth, are natures children
Fed by the wind, the breath of life
Judged by the fiery hands of god
World goes by the hand
Of the master plan
Cant you understand
Youre but a grain of sand
Do you need a guide
To make you feel satisfied
Head to the sky
Will tell you why
Born of the earth, are natures children
Fed by the wind, the breath of life
Judged by the fiery hands of god

Sunshine and the Wind
Today I am thinking of sunshine and the wind.
Have you ever passed beneath a clothes
line flapping in the breeze, soaking in sunshine?
The towel drapes itself across your face.
Breath deeply and catch the scent of the wind.
Hold it close and feel the warmth of the sun's rays.
The wind will chase away the stiffness of the fabric
as it ruffles on a stiff breeze.
And have you ever thought much
about sunshine and the wind?
My black dog lies stretched out
basking in the light as her coat soaks up
the very warmth from the sky.
The wind lays a quick caress across her
like a quick ripple on a still sea.
The wind is whispering tales of the earth in her ear
and she is unable to hear my approach.
Her nose twitches and her lips curl back, her eye lids flutter.
She sleeps dreaming in the peace of the sun.
I lay beside her. She stirs and blinks herself awake
and I feel the sun begin to warm me as the grass
is cool beneath me and I am thinking.
When gray days follow one after another
and the rain refuses to fall how I long for the sun.
And I am thinking of a prisoner locked away
in his cold stone cell. A single shaft of sunlight
beams down from a bar encased window high above him.
Does he stand in the light soaking in its freshness
dreaming of freer days? Perhaps if more time were spent thinking
of sunshine and the wind our schools would become safe
our politicians true and prisoners void of a sunny day
might slip away like the sun at dusk.
Listen to the wind swoosh across a wheat field.
see the sun paint the evening sky.
Let the earth blow the dust off your busy soul
and find joy in sunshine and the wind.

Life feels cold today
Grey skies
Pigeons cooing their grumble
Crows reluctantly cawing their displeasure
Life feels cold today
People huddled, coiled in their grind
Unwilling to move, unless it’s a real bind
Hearts frozen, grim faces
Life feels cold today
Trees shiver in the biting wind
Little animals burrow underground
To earth’s welcome warmth
Life feels cold today
Clouds obscure the sun
Finding her beloved absent, the earth sulks
And turns away to another night
Life feels cold today

Under The Weather
Along the streets, my leaden feet plod:
In my mind, this all feels quite odd.
Usually, when walking, I keep a good pace,
But, at the moment, this is not the case.
When I cough, my chest gives a rattle.
Just to keep going, feels like a battle.
Walking along a road that's all uphill,
Is a real struggle, and takes all of my will.
I seem to have lost my ‘get up and go.'
My pace at the moment is painfully slow.
My nose is all flaky, and has gone red.
Now, when I cough, it hurts my head.
I don't really feel like a lot to eat.
I prefer sitting down to rest my feet.
My soul within, feels quite deflated.
At my slow pace, I feel quite frustrated.
I cough so much that my ribs are sore.
Having a cold has become a real bore.
From me, some folk are now steering clear:
In case of infection, they won't come near.
Chances are that my cough will hang on:
I will be so relieved when it has gone.
My nose keeps running, just like a tap.
My inner strength, my cold has sapped.
Having a cold, I find just so annoying:
With my patience, this cold is toying.
I can't wait to be back to my old self:
Feeling happy, and back to good health.

Sonnet: There Are Reasons for All Things
There must be reasons for the shaking leaves;
There must be reasons for the swaying trees;
There must be reasons for the drying sheaves;
There must be reasons causing any breeze.
There must be reasons for the waves at sea;
There must be reasons for ripples in pond;
There must be reasons for the sea briny;
There must be reasons for a mutual bond.
There must be reasons for the changing climes;
There must be reasons for both drought and rain;
There must be reasons for good and bad times;
There must be reasons for a boon or bane.
There must be reasons for all things on earth;
But not much reasons why men sin since birth!

Where Does The Wind Go
Where does the wind go on cold, cold nights
Out of the sight of the bright sunlight,
Under the gaze of the glowing moon,
When all the world is tired and sleeping;
Moaning and carrying on something fierce
Could it be that the wind is weeping?
Where does the wind hide it's broken heart,
Out on the lake, around the boat
And even when no one’s there to hear,
Does the wind ever look for an alibi
When it's so quiet, you can hear your breath,
But the wind only heaves one threadbare sigh?
Where is the place wind could stay it's breeze;
So fidgety, flighty and full of glee
Holding it's breath till the doors fell in;
The windows all cracking their window jams,
Saving it all for a winter's storm
When the trees bend as low as they can.

Binding The Wind
You are breathing
It is cold
And your breath
Is seen in the wind
As white smoke
As you speak
I see your
Words in the air
And the wind
Carries them
All to me
In my nostrils
Then to my heart
I take my fingers
Touching your
Mouth feeling
Your lips
Molding some
Words of white smoke
To this cold day
I am cold
And weak
But I shall have
A way of making
My fingers coil
Into a rope
And I shall
Bind the wind
Where your words
Are contained
My fingers
Ropes of this
Meticulous mind
In this lovely chase
It is cold today
I am weak today
I bind the wind
Your words of
Love your warmth
In affection
And I bind them
All as I bundle
Them into a pillow
On my head
A pillow in my heart
On this cold day
I will not be weak.

Back To The Usual Walk In The Rice Fields
i am back to this place
and i am feeling strange
there are changes
and some i can tell have been missing
a few meters from where i stand
under this mahogany tree
where the wind is cold and fresh
flavored by the newly cut rice stalks
over this spread of golden fields
the well is still there
but the brown woman with earth skin is gone
an island of coconut trees
(and some mango trees
and banana shrubs)
has turned bald
and the grasses claim another territory to its grassland
the sparrows must have migrated to the nearby forest
the cable lines run an empty length of a sigh
from one pole to another
endlessly clinging is this anonymous electricity
the twenty or so white herons are here again
pecking on some little frogs in small ponds
i walk under the sun
revisiting reevaluating rekindling perhaps
the reasons why i must go on living
a life unlived for quite a time
why are the fields empty? why are the blackbirds circling the tree?
why do people pass by this path unable to know the significance
of this human journey?
the sun is up like an absurdity triumphant
a dog comes near me
it is waggling its tail and i am calling him another name.

Tell Me
Tell me what its like to be with you
Remind me of the things we used to do
And tell me that this time will ne ver end
Tell me what its like
Tell me again
Every time you stay
It never feels quite the same
An every time you go
It hurts a way you'll never know
I guess your stories make me feel
Like its alright now
Everything i fear
Shows itself every time you're here
And everything I know
Leaves with you every time you go
I wish your stories
Could erase everything that i said
Tell me what its like to be with you
Remind me of the things we used to do
And tell me that this time will ne ver end
Tell me what its like
Tell me again
You loook that way
Don't want to see you look that way
You talk that way
Dont want to feel this way
Tell me what its like to be with you
Remind me of the things we used to do
And tell me that this time will ne ver end
Tell me what its like
Tell me again

The Dug-out
Why do you lie with your legs ungainly huddled,
And one arm bent across your sullen, cold,
Exhausted face? It hurts my heart to watch you,
Deep-shadowed from the candle's guttering gold;
And you wonder why I shake you by the shoulder;
Drowsy, you mumble and sigh and turn your head...
You are too young to fall asleep for ever;
And when you sleep you remind me of the dead.

Walking With The Lover...
walking with the Lover...
i see empty fields plowed,
come alive with crops abundant.
empty factory buildings filled
with the ghosts of hard working lives.
empty houses lit up,
and the sounds of families.
empty hands given cups and bowls,
empty hearts held close!
empty words given meaning,
empty promises fulfilled.
walking with the Lover...
touching the plenty of empty!

To Laura
Cease, Laura, cease, suspect no more
This careless heart has learnt to love,
Because on yonder lonely shore
I still at pensive evening rove;
Because of Henry's worth I speak
With eager warmth and sparkling eye;
Because his favourite haunts I seek,
And still o'erjoyed to meet him fly:....
But, Laura, should my faltering tongue
Refuse to speak in Henry's praise,
My trembling voice deny the song
When Henry claims his favourite lays;
When Henry comes, should I neglect
With smiles the welcome youth to seek,
But meet him full of cold respect,
While conscious blushes paint my cheek;
Should I, when Ella shares his praise,
Heave deeply-drawn but smothered sighs,
And, when on me he deigns to gaze,
Fix on the earth my conscious eyes;....
Then, I'll no more thy charge deny,
No more thy tender fears reprove:
Then, Laura, heave compassion's sigh,
For mine will be the sigh of love.

Love, Music, and Dancing
I can't describe this feeling
So I really don't know why I'm writing about it
But I have to put it down on paper
To hold it and keep it safe
Just in case I forget and need to remind myself
I know you might be thinking about love
And love is glorious, don't get me wrong
But love's so overdone
I wouldn't need to write it myself to remind myself
I need to write about how music feels
And how, when you hear a great classic
Or even something you've never even heard before
You have to stop and listen
And do you know what?
Now that I think about it
It does feel like love
But it's still different
For a second
You're IN the music
And you can't catch your breath
And it feels like you know everything
Just for a second
And then, it makes you dance
So I guess I'm writing about that, too
Because to me love feels the same as music
And they both feel like dancing
Love, and music, and dancing
That's what it feels like
Spinning and leaping
Singing terribly
And yelling ''I YOU''
At the top of my lungs
Because in that second
I love everyone
And everything
And it all feels like
Love
Music
And dancing
And I guess I can write about it, too

Early Works - Though You Are Gone
In dark streets where nothingness lies,
I walk alone and cold
here where emptiness is solitude
I find a place to weep.
I was the background other played around
the stage others acted on,
but my usefulness has ended
I’m alone to cry to myself.
The tears I shed
are not of self pity
but are of love
that once was warm
but turned like the wind when angered
to cold and harsh,
but even now I’ve lost
I still remember the warmth
and softness it once had.
Even in this desolate place,
I feel the warmth I once knew
and the tenderness
that used to overwhelm us
in our moments of bliss
though you are gone.

Ohh Ye Sunshine
Ohh Ye Sunshine, Ohh Ye Sunshine
Why must i feel so cold in the day,
When u are beaming with such warmth,
Why must i feel so empty,
Yet u smile at me every moment,
Why must i continue on this long journey of life,
Yet i know u have been here longer then me with no complaints,
Ohh Ye Sunshine, Ohh Ye Sunshine
Why must i want to feel the warmth of another,
When u shed your rays of warmth on to me,
Why is it that i am so alone in this universe,
Yet i have u with me every day,
Why do i feel as if every one has abandoned me and left me to myself,
Yet u follow me without a secound thought,
Ohh Ye Sunshine, Ohh Ye Sunshine
It seems that you are the only one there thru my experiences,
Wether they be good or bad,

Different Seasons
There is a face deep in your mind
One that your heart wont leave behind
Memories are cold-empty of laughs
And all that remains are photographs
(chorus)
When shes gone there are no reasons
Natures cruel - its just different seasons
Going on and on
There is a voice deep in your soul
Telling your not to lose control
And day after day you hold back the tears
cos pain is the greatest of your fears
(chorus)
There are no reasons
Say its only different seasons

Open Wound
So cold
why so cold
where is the warmth
why did it leave
I feel it
its on the outside
running down my body
running away
How can I be so cold
if I'm surrounded by warmth
even as it covers my body
I feel so cold
It's so dark
first the warmth
now the light
why me
I can’t move
help me
save me
heal me
Be my angel
be my wings
be my warmth
be my light
Be my soul

Contented With Your Own Silence
in one instance you step out of your door
walk on the road,
keeping your gaze away from the danger side
you keep things to yourself
there is no one to share with
what story you have for the past days
when you hibernated in that room,
it is a break,
you stroll in the park
take your breath under those trees
sit upon one of those empty benches
lose your mind
upon what is obvious and
visible upon those
that do not need any
kind of scrutiny and fathoming
this the time to fish
for nothingness
you lay your hands upon the grass
it is this coolness
that makes you feel connected
to the earth
you sigh and sigh again and again
it is this exhaling that makes you a giver
rather than a taker
it makes you
comfortable like what smokers do
when (they pollute
the air)
there is a certain fulfillment
in this kind of loafing
you carry nothing and thus
you leave nothing
you are not alone
feel this solitude
there are so many of you
doing the same routine in the park
fishers of
nothingness
but i tell you
do not talk do not start a conversation with the one near you
or that one
who is walking his dog early morning
i tried it once
when you get no response
it will just make you lonelier
it is like taking a stone in your hand
and hitting your head with it
sit there,
just sit there
relax
take your time,
and simply be whole
nothing falling
apart
it is beautiful to
see
now that you are
contented with your own
silence.

Winter's Reflection
Years too end as you arrive
Every soul on the earth
For survival, they strive.
All they need is a little warmth,
All you give is cold dry air,
Taking away a whole sunrays share.
All they own is a holed one
Peeping through it, yet they smile
like a battle they have just won
Too cosy cuddly and furry a quilt
Beating on you, it gives warmth enough to rest a while
still they remain drowned in an unknown guilt
wrapped in you as a painted image
To see and feel you bring a change
To save a memory all we manage
