Sunshine and the Wind

Today I am thinking of sunshine and the wind.
Have you ever passed beneath a clothes
line flapping in the breeze, soaking in sunshine?
The towel drapes itself across your face.
Breath deeply and catch the scent of the wind.
Hold it close and feel the warmth of the sun's rays.
The wind will chase away the stiffness of the fabric
as it ruffles on a stiff breeze.
And have you ever thought much
about sunshine and the wind?
My black dog lies stretched out
basking in the light as her coat soaks up
the very warmth from the sky.
The wind lays a quick caress across her
like a quick ripple on a still sea.
The wind is whispering tales of the earth in her ear
and she is unable to hear my approach.
Her nose twitches and her lips curl back, her eye lids flutter.
She sleeps dreaming in the peace of the sun.
I lay beside her. She stirs and blinks herself awake
and I feel the sun begin to warm me as the grass
is cool beneath me and I am thinking.
When gray days follow one after another
and the rain refuses to fall how I long for the sun.
And I am thinking of a prisoner locked away
in his cold stone cell. A single shaft of sunlight
beams down from a bar encased window high above him.
Does he stand in the light soaking in its freshness
dreaming of freer days? Perhaps if more time were spent thinking
of sunshine and the wind our schools would become safe
our politicians true and prisoners void of a sunny day
might slip away like the sun at dusk.
Listen to the wind swoosh across a wheat field.
see the sun paint the evening sky.
Let the earth blow the dust off your busy soul
and find joy in sunshine and the wind.

The Bright Sunshine

She came in my life just like sunshine!
I felt just like a bird,
Flying high in the skies! ,
Touching the Sun,
Tearing through the wind,
to try and feel the warmness of the sun..
in the deep cool breeze!

I was loving the wind but,
A windstorm started! SomeOne,
Pushed me,
Pulled me,
Threw me away, &..
.. & I crashed.

Crashed over the hard rocks,
Sand nd
water.

SomeOne clipped off my wings!
I could not fly,
I could not meet the sunshine,
Sun shine of my life!
Imagine, Imagine me, A bird who cannot fly.

Left alone, I saw others,
Flying with the wind,
but could not accompany my love!

Why must i feel so cold in the day,
When u are beaming with such warmth,

Why must i feel so empty,
Yet u smile at me every moment,

Why must i continue on this long journey of life,
Yet i know u have been here longer then me with no complaints,

No time to chase the wind

My life had started, as i feel my life will end
with twists, and turns, curves, and a bend
I used to race the wind, and fight the storms
an endless game, between me, and shaded forms
i would try and try, but always fail
i was determined to win, i was just behind, i had it by the tail
i was to beat the wind i swore it so
at any costs i would win, i had a lifetime to go
But i was only a child, and i neglected to see
that as i grew older, the wind eluded me
there's no time for chasing the wind, to much work you see
the wind had won again, how could this be
i spent all my life, running, and running, so far away
never would i stop, there was no time to stay
theres no time for chasing the wind anymore
my joints are old and sore
my days are numbered, i bow down to thee
i give in to you, i have lost all strength, i'm stiff as a tree
my limbs have grown tired, my lungs out of air
i'v run for so long, i haven't a care
there's no time for racing the wind, thats it, no more
a silence befell the field, the wind and ceased, he dropped to the floor.
have you grown tired as well, is it time to rest
has this game gone on long enough, have i passed the test
i'm so tired now, so very tired now, all i want is to lay here...
lay here only a moment, he lay on the ground, silent and calm,
his chest rises and drops, it rises, then stops... his breath is long gone he draws his last breath, and his spirit carried on.
The wind swept away his soul and he traveled within the breeze.
at last he could see, what he had fought for so long
so peaceful, so light, serene as a romantic song
There is no time to chase the wind, you've carried on
theres no time to chase wind, for the wind is far gone

The wind carries much more than we see
It carries a lot of what makes you and me

We don't hear nor see any of these things

A Wind From... Elsewhere

The wind blows here... the wind blows there
The wind seems to blow from... everywhere.
But the wind I love... when it blows... blows fair...
This wind... when it blows... blows from... ELSEWHERE! Can you see its graceful fingers... playing in your hair?
Nay! You cannot see the wind... e'en though you know it's there.
It's flitting... it's flirting... it's prancing everywhere
This wind... when it blows... blows from... ELSEWHERE! It blows unexpectedly... with a gentle breeze... it blows...
The Great Hand of Miracles... brings it... then it goes
To greet the early morning sun... to dance to and fro
From the highest, loftiest mountain heights... to valleys... far below. 'Who is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth...
Who gathereth the winds in his fists—Who maketh a wind to pass over...
Thou hearest the sound thereof...
