Vive la Difference

Rewarded who, through independent soul,
contributes towards the common good,
free, adds a tree to evolution's wood,
which thrives regardless, whether common goal
is shared by all, or if it stands a pole
apart, awaiting recognition. Should
the base be sound, where one once lonely stood
will many come and thrive, half-hopes make whole.
But woe betide who copied or who stole,
or who coerced, as 'truth will out'! Withstood
should be temptation's mirage, self-made hood,
depriving self from self, from freedom's scroll.
Look into, through and under surface scene
until, true focus found, new scope is seen.

Good Evening Mr. Waldheim

Good evening mr.waldheim
And pontiff how are you?
You have so much in common
In the things you do
And here comes jesse jackson
He talks of common ground
Does that common ground include me
Or is it just a sound
A sound that shakes
Oh jesse, you must watch the sounds you make
A sound that quakes
There are fears that still reverberate
Jesse you say common ground
Does that include the plo?
What about people right here right now
Who fought for you not so long ago?
The words that flow so freely
Falling dancing from your lips
I hope that you dont cheapen them
With a racist slip
Oh common ground
Is common ground a word or just a sound
Common ground
Remember those civil rights workers buried in the ground
If I ran for president
And once was a member of the klan
Wouldnt you call me on it
The way I call you on farrakhan
And pontiff, pretty pontiff
Can anyone shake your hand ?
Or is it just that you like uniforms
And someone kissing your hand
Or is it true
The common ground for me includes you too
Oh, oh, is it true
The common ground for me includes you too
Good evening mr.waldheim
Pontiff how are you
As you both stroll through the woods at night
Im thinking thoughts of you
And jesse youre inside my thoughts
As the rhythmic words subside
My common ground invites you in
Or do you prefer to wait outside
Or is it true
The common ground for me is without you
Or is it true
The common ground for me is without you
Oh is it true
Theres no ground common enough for me and you

A Heart to Cherish

A heart to cherish and warm hand to hold
High raise all mortal clay from common mould,
Elevates base elements to gold
As magic fusion cuts confusion's hold.

Rest not on sidelines, ceremony trace,
Thrust through Fate’s weight, cue to true interface
That, ma chérie, may see heart heart enfold
On lease from life itself, which won’t grow old.

Could mirrors speak they’d blush, no silver scold
Harsh time reflect, so joyfully behold
Enchanting offspring duplicate glow's grace,
Resounding echo both of soul, surface.
Incarceration end, lets celebrate
SHared emotions' oceans liberate.

A Heart to Cherish

A heart to cherish and a hand to hold
lifts Man’s mortal clay from common mould,
transforms base elements to finest gold
through magic fusion, let the truth be told.
Stand not on sidelines, ceremony, trace
Fate’s lines through daring caring interface.
Charming features charmèd heart enfold,
on lease from life itself, which can’t grow old.
If mirrors spoke, they’d blush, could never scold,
prove mirage mirage, all else oversold.
Should children come they’d duplicate true grace -
enchanting echo both of soul, surface.
Transmit heart’s signals to communicate
emotion’s oceans, love anticipate.

Beauty O beauty I am in love with you

Beauty O beauty I am in love with you
When you are found in the common face
My heart can barely wait to take your place
I see your look in the common race
For there you have placed
In a love that bares no disgrace
Cupid is blind this is true
So do not blame him when he strike you
And a man you find not fair
For half of beauty is within
This you can not see till you woo
And his inner beauty will overthrow
All of your misconceived notions
About what beauty mends
Beauty my man beauty
The common face capture me
The common love I can not see
But this love of the common he
Is what most that moves me
I have no shame to call upon the name
Of gay love tied with a ring
For love of beauty is beyond the dictate of the state
For they are only man made rules
And has not the true power to school
Common beauty can be seen on any street
And the bars where you go to meet
The common men is yout yo greet
Some say that beauty be not common
But they are but fools to think this so
For well does the true poet knows
That beauty is white as the snow
Beauty is black as the night
Beauty is yellow as the sun flower’s petal
Beauty is bronze as the metal
Beauty is red as the blossom of the crape myrtle
Beauty, O beauty its true that you do
To who you care to do
For all the races are filled with you
Beauty by like a tender touch
That in the night will come to irrupt
Beauty be soft, beauty be roughs
To pull back the skin of the silk
And expose the kernels of our love
Beauty o, beauty
Found in women and in men
We know that each of the same sex can comprehend
That a man can find beauty in a man.

The Press Evangel

GOD'S order, 'Light!' when all was void and dark
Brought mornless noon, a flame without a spark.
A gift unearned, that none may hold or hide,
An outer glory, not an inner guide;
But flamed no star in heaven to light the soul
And lead the wayward thought toward Freedom's goal.

O Wasted ages! Whither have ye led
The breeding masses for their daily bread?
Engendered serfs, across a world of gloom,
The wavelike generations reach the tomb.
Masters and lords, they feared a lord's decree,
Nor freedom knew nor truth to make them free.

But hark! A sound has reached the servile herd!
Strong brows are raised to catch the passing word;
From mouth to mouth a common whisper flies;
A wild fire message burns on lips and eyes;
Far-off and near the kindred tidings throng—
How hopes come true, how heroes challenge wrong;
How men have rights above all law's decrees;
How weak ones rise and sweep the thrones like seas!
Behold! The people listen—question! Then
The inner light has come—the boors are men!

What read ye here—a dreamer's idle rule?
A swelling pedant's lesson for a school?
Nay, here no dreaming, no delusive charts;
But common interests for common hearts;
A truth, a Principle—beneath the sun
One vibrant throb—men's rights and wrongs are one.
One heart's small keyboard touches all the notes;
One weak one's cry distends the million throats;
Nor race nor nation bounds the human kind—
White, yellow, black—one conscience and one mind!

How spread the doctrine I See the teachers fly—
The printed messages across the sky;
From land to land, as never birds could wing;
With songs of promise birds could never sing;
With mighty meanings clearing here and there;
With nations' greetings kings could never share;
With new communions whispering near and far;
With gathering armies bent on peace, not war;
With kindly judges reading righteous laws;
With strength and cheer for every struggling cause.

Roll on, O cylinders of light, and teach
The helpless myriads tongue can never reach.
Make men, not masses: pulp and mud unite—
The single grain of sand reflects the light.
True freedom makes the individual free;
And common law for all makes Liberty!

Truth That Sets You Free

Words expressed to you and me, that the truth will set you free,
Not simply truth of any kind, but, Truth which leaves sin behind,
The Truth spoken of is Him; The One Who saves many from sin,
The Truth available to all of us, is the Lord Himself, Christ Jesus.

Friend in the Bible you shall find, God's Truth of an Eternal kind,
Truth that is beyond the world, Truth which Jesus Christ unfurled,
A Truth that's meant for everyone, coming from God's Only Son,
His Truth, which sets men free, from the present through eternity.

Common truths known on earth, for man, are of no eternal worth,
All common truths known to man, access not God's eternal plan,
They are better than lies for us, but, have not His Righteousness,
Common truth won't get us to, Eternity, prepared for me and you.

The only Saving truth, in this life, is Truth, in the person of Christ,
God's saving Truth all men need, His Gospel Truth all must heed;
Common truth will not set you free, or give you new life eternally,
For man's word shall fade away, but, God's Truth is here to stay.

The Saving Truth, you have heard, is there for all in God's Word,
The Way, the Truth and the Life, is the Living Word, Jesus Christ,
Whose Word comes from eternity, Truth, that saves you and me,
Reading His Word reveals proof, He's the author of Eternal Truth.

An Old Tree

An old tree stands by the edge of a cliff,
awaiting, awaiting the waters to lift.
The waves he cherishes like God's gift,
but through weeds and mountains he must first sift.

Lonely, pleading like a beggar,
he looks to the sea and wishes to tell her
to raise her waters with a good will,
so he could stand alone in the Home of Thrill.

An old tree stands alone on a hill,
forsaken and abandoned, he slowly dies,
as he watches the world's ages fall into a ghyll,
he sets his heart to where the sea-nymph cries.

In mimicry of the sea-nymph's tears,
he sends his roots cascading down the hills
like a waterfall of knowledge collected through the years.
What a sight to see! The spirit with sadness it fills.

An old tree once stood by the edge of a cliff,
waiting for some water to rise.
Now he's fallen, eaten by flies,
as he lays on the rocks, yet nobody cries.

What a life to have lived,
sad and alone.
As he dies, he knows he won't be missed.
No one grieves him but them he'll forgive,
even if they throw him like broken bones.
Yet even at death's gate his wish is dismissed.

His grave stands above the sea,
ever close to the waters free.
Death is cruel and ignores the plea,
And so water never reached by old friend the tree.

Time For Temptation

Time for temptation, what you see is there for you
Time for temptation, no damnation for what you do
(good, good, good, good temptation)
Why you chasing a lost religion of guilty feelings
-that belong in yesterday?
Spy the preachers a politician, he carries the cross like a gun
- whip you into shape
Heres the rub, now, no secret hours locked in the backroom if you
- come together right
Check your vision and push it out there
- you make the question, define what its all about
(chorus)
(oh) oh...
With chains or heaven across your shoulder,
A slave for promotion to the afterlife
The boss gets fat while you just get older, here comes a mission
- set to put you right
Time for temptation, what you see is there for you
Time for temptation, no damnation for what you do - oh
Time for temptation, what you see is there for you
Time for temptation, no damnation for what you do
(no damnation...)
Time for temptation, what you see is there for you
Time for temptation, no damnation for what you do - oh
Time for temptation, what you see is there for you
Time for temptation, no damnation for what you do - oh
Time for temptation, what you see is there for you

Time for temptation, no damnation for what you do

Freedom

I used to think you understood
Taught me right and learnt me good
Made things simple for my brain
Told the truth and made it plain
But the implications I mistook
Until I found out whose side you took
And now with paper in my hand
Im beginning to understand
So this is freedom - {they must be joking}
They must be joking - {if they think its true}
So this is freedom - [i doubt their truth}
So this is freedom - {for me and you}
From the front page news to the interviews
Its sink the reds and left the blues
They pretend theyre differing points of view
But its only different shades of blue
But the implications I mistook
Until I found out whose side you took
And now with paper in my hand
Im beginning to understand
So this is freedom - {they must be joking}
They must be joking - {if they think its true}
So this is freedom - [i doubt their truth}
So this is freedom - {for me and you}
[guitar solo]
So this is freedom - {they must be joking}
They must be joking - {if they think its true}
So this is freedom - [i doubt their truth}
So this is freedom - {for me and you}

So theyll do it again

Now theyre coming for me

Sonnet: Woes Too Come For Our Good

However high, you climb up life's ladder,
You can't be far away from earth's surface;
Neither have you gone to Heaven nearer,
Unless your soul's goodness is strong in base.

Bad things too happen only for our good,
Our problems tune our minds and hearts to God;
Without his woes, man forgets mortal-hood;
Behaving uncreaturely, very odd.

And yet, the devils can't tempt man for long;
The One most High is watching every scene;
He hears each earthling’s lament, plaintive song;
The God who made us, never can be mean.

Unfathomed stays the love of God for Man;
His judgement fair comes from His ba1ance-pan.

I Am A Man!

i never understood...
the need to be popular,
to be the 'in' thing,
to be cool, to be hip,
never understood the need
for fame...
never waited to be patted
on the back,
never wanted to be followed...

i am what i am!
nothing more, nothing less.
a common man,
with a common heart,
a common soul,
and common hard working hands.
i can honestly say
that i have lived,
i have loved,
i have given past
the point of giving,
i have tried my wings
on countless occasions...
many times i fell,
but a few times i have flown!
i have forgiven,
and asked for forgiveness.
i believe what i believe,
and have stood up in spite of.
i am a man!

Vivid Imagination

Vivid imagination should expand
Initiative with intuitions shared
Creating strong momentum unimpaired,
Kicking serf's shackles' strong wrongs most minds b[r]and.
Independent spirit seeks no grand
Embroidered mirage where, when fair truth's bared,
K eystone is found unstable, unprepared,
Valueless, - base built from desert sand,
Integrity, rejecting out of hand
Compromise, incompetence declared,
Kidding not! With facts intact compared,
Intelligence rejects cores coarse, mores bland.
Expediency's unhealthy cup of tea,
Key words are: sound, profound, autonomy!

Veracity and clarity combine
Intensely in a mind which hopes for scope,
Creative recognition not soft soap.
Knowledge wide inside retains design
Innate to contemplate true meanings, line
Existence with the will to grow, not mope,
Keeping ideals intact to underline
Vision deep, whose inner light should shine
Incandescent as the heliotrope.
Charming seems surface smile, yet one must cope,
Keel even though some seek to undermine
Innate principles reject weep whine,
Expect top quality not slippery slope,
Karmic energy to intertwine.

Enchanted by an understanding clear,
Awaiting an osmosis warm whose heart
Should share implicitly, ne'er need to start
To challenge for the sake of challenge here.
Creative thinking helps the mind appear
Open free from artificial art,
Arrogance and intolerance which chart
Shipwreck sure, lure siren insincere.
Touched by heart, tomorrow's travels steer,
Gaining trust, towards berth port where part
And whole are one, soul won with Cupid's dart,
Life, laughter, linked as frontiers disappear.
Energy creative shuns despair,
Choice, voice, combined, find mind binds joys hors pair.

Voice for choice in this decisive year
Important is as effervescent mind
Calls for conditions which can leave behind
Kennelled spirits, steer solutions clear,
Interactive, shared. Ambitions dear
Ever forwards, won't be undermined.
Kaleidoscopic colours are refined
Validity few do contest as here
Insightful analyzing inner sphere
Concisely reads, rings conscious bell, not blind,
Keenly while, with sense of humour lined,
Intact light leaps, reaps rainbow's far frontier.
Enchantment Time may challenge where two share,
Keep faith, discard fear's wraith which feeds despair.

Vain or self centred path most people walk
Ignoring true priorities, soul free
Can grasp life's scheme entire, celerity
Karate chop disperses double talk.
Information eyed by kestrel hawk
Effectively is channelled, energy
Kenspeckle boosts associations free,
Vistas vast, change at which will won't balk,
Intuitions armed with points to chalk.
Competence twinned with ability
Kenogenetic challenge seeks 'TO BE'.
Is life not blossoms though most stay sere stalk?
Empathy is expected when zen souls
Ken kinship, tendrils touch, evolve shared goals.

View these few verses here as zephyr breeze
Intent on waking with a warming smile,
Chance to advance sure, set in sonnet style,
Kindling thought waves with surprising ease
In understanding life's priorities
Effectively, with no judgemental trial.
Kidnap mind from distractions for a while,
Vault screens to focus spirit, thence to seize
Idyllic dream which opportunities
Could conjure up to comfort, reconcile,
Kindred souls made whole. Shared qualities
Inspire to higher planes which, by degrees,
Eden attain, horizons clear, worthwhile,
Kismet fete in fashion versatile.

Value judgements are not worth a dime
If driven by defiance, bigotry,
Case for self-reliance, charity
Knocks sects for skittles, welcomes any time
Ideas which swiftly flow, root, grow shoot, climb
Ever upwards as dexterity
Knows neither limits nor severity.
Veracity wins through to space sublime.
Insincerity is held a crime
Counter-productive while vulgarity
Knavish, slavish, seems barbarity
Immature the cure? read on one line
Enthusiastic creativity
Kneels never to blind, dumb comformity!

Virtues self-tribute just acceptance due,
Images spontaneous writ fast,
Clear mirror of potential unsurpassed
Knight offers here in treasured measured cue.
It may to some seem flattery, yet few
Enjoy such inner freedom, made to last.
Knit such strong links, fly truth's flag to the mast,
Venture forth with independent view,
Impressive talents should to self stay true,
Creative spark evolves, survives time's blast.
Knots need untying, never caught aghast
Incisive yet compassionate review
Ends here, these sonnets seek to sing
Knowledge of success in everything!

Secret (feat. Phil Collins)

She's quiet this morning
She can't say why
Sends her husband off to work
With a kiss goodbye
Unlocks that old diary
Turns to the third of May
Adds another tear to the page
And it's lonely being the only one
Who knows the truth
[chorus]
She has a secret
That she can never tell
One wrong decision
Still puts her heart through hell
Does he miss her
Did he forgive her
The love that they shared will
Always be a secret
Only she knows, she still loves him
And she hates the choice she made
Wishes she could find him
Tell him why she walked away
Every day gets harder, livin' with herself
But she knew he'd be better off, raised by someone else
God, it's lonely being the only one
Who knows the truth
[chorus]
She unlocks that old diary
Turns to the third of May
Adds another tear to the page

Density Contained

A massive self indulgence,
Prevents comprehension.
An intention is made,
To persuade and convince...
Within one's mind,
Thrives common sense.
But a density contained,
Does not release
An empthy maintained
To prosper meaningful dialogue shared.
Since there is no one else
To care about!
There in the absence...
Shown and exposed from a limited brain!

Set Me Free

You operate and motivate on synthetic fuel
you're Mother Nature and an atom bomb
As long as you're kept full of pretty bodies
your little secret will be safe with me
around again insane again
it somes again it sets me free
so set me free
set me free
'cause I think you need my soul
set me free
set me free
Your kept alive and polarized with one thing in mind,
metabolizin' everything that you see
but now and then or a little later
now I'm gonna take you down with me
Around again insane again
she comes again it sets me free
so set me free
set me free
'cause I think you need my soul
set me free
set me free
so set me free
set me free
'cuase I think you need my soul
set me free
set me free
So, take me down
take me down, down, down, down
take me down, take me down
So, take me down
take me down, down, down, down
take me down, take me down
So set me free
set me free
'cause I think you need my soul
set me free
set me free
So set me free

Common Ground

Written by neil diamond, tom hensley, and alan lindgren
If you love me,
Say you love me.
These are words we find hard to share.
Would you trust me?
Could I trust you?
Will you always want me there?
Or is this just some game called nothin goes right?
Is this just me to blame
For making these endless nights?
And who do we think we are,
Some kind of cosmic shooting stars?
No were not.
Havent got all that time.
Got to find a common ground,
Not the other way around
For you and i.
We need to walk on common ground.
We need to make a lovin sound.
While we got time,
We got to try.
Were you loving?
Was I caring?
These are feelings too hard to measure.
Ill be loving.
You be caring.
Will it always feel this way?
Or will we find the way to make it alright?
Will that sun come someday
To wake up this endless night?
And who do we think we are,
Some kind of cosmic shooting stars?
No, were not.
Havent got all that time.
Looking for a common ground,
Not the other way around
For you and i.
Got to find a common ground.
Need to make a lovin sound
While we got time,
You and i.
And we still have the time to make it work right,
Make that sun come to shine
And wake up this endless night.
And who do we think we are,
Some kind of cosmic shooting stars?
No were not.
Havent got all that time.
Got to find a common ground,
Not the other way around,
You and i.
Got to walk on common ground.
Got to make some lovin sounds.
We got time to look for some common ground,
Find a lovin sound,
You and i.
Lookin for a common ground,
Not the other way around
For you and i.
Got to walk on common ground,
You and i.

The real "haves" are they who can acquire freedom, self-confidence, and even riches without depriving others of them. They acquire all of these by developing and applying their potentialities. On the other hand, the real "have nots" are they who cannot have aught except by depriving others of it. They can feel free only by diminishing the freedom of others, self-confident by spreading fear and dependence among others, and rich by making others poor.
