Numbers
Two more days as haze on Time's horizon
divides my world from total change to come.
Two boys play as Fate Time's separation
prepares, as smiles exchanged shall soon fall dumb.
Eight hundred miles, as crow can be relied on
to fly the distance cutting two from one,
seven hour sandwich slice time to be cried on
as isolating father from each son.
Four years span a double generation,
though no tears run from troubled heart undone.
Fifty years trip towards degeneration
as two hands write wry rhyme upon Time's drum.

From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea
Every time we do this
I fall for her
Wave after wave after wave
It's all for her
I know this can't be wrong i say
(and i'll lie to keep her happy)
As long as i know that you know
That today i belong
Right here with you
Right here with you...
And so we watch the sun come up
From the edge of the deep green sea
And she listens like her head's on fire
Like she wants to believe in me
So i try
Put your hands in the sky
Surrender
Remember
We'll be here forever
And we'll never say goodbye...
I've never been so
Colourfully-see-through-head before
I've never been so
Wonderfully-me-you-want-some-more
And all i want is to keep it like this
You and me alone
A secret kiss
And don't go home
Don't go away
Don't let this end
Please stay
Not just for today
Never never never never never let me go she says
Hold me like this for a hundred thousand million days
But suddenly she slows
And looks down at my breaking face
Why do you cry? what did i say?
But it's just rain i smile
Brushing my tears away...
I wish i could just stop
I know another moment will break my heart
Too many tears
Too many times
Too many years i've cried over you
How much more can we use it up?
Drink it dry?
Take this drug?
Looking for something forever gone
But something
We will always want?
Why why why are you letting me go? she says
I feel you pulling back
I feel you changing shape...
And just as i'm breaking free
She hangs herself in front of me
Slips her dress like a flag to the floor
And hands in the sky
Surrenders it all...
I wish i could just stop
I know another moment will break my heart
Too many tears
Too many times
Too many years i've cried for you
It's always the same
Wake up in the rain
Head in pain
Hung in shame
A different name
Same old game
Love in vain
And miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Away from home again...

No Time To Kill
Theres no time to kill between the cradle and the grave
Father time still takes a toll on every minute that you save
Legal tenders never gonna change the number on your days
The highest cost of livins dyin, thats one everybody pays
So have it spent before you get the bill, theres no time to kill
If wed known ten years ago today would be ten years from now
Would we spend tomorrows yesterdays and make it last somehow
Or lead the cheers in someone elses game and never learn to play
And see the rules of thumb are all the same that measure every day
The grass is green on both sides of the hill, theres no time to kill
No time to kill, even Ive said it and probably always will
But I can look ahead and see that time aint standin still
No time to kill but time to change the kind of hurry Ive been in
And quit this work and worry lookin back at where Ive been
If you dont look ahead nobody will, theres no time to kill
If we had an hour glass to watch each one go by
Or a bell to mark each one to pass, wed see just how they fly
Would we escalate the value to be worth its weight in gold
Or would we never know the fortunes that we had til we grow old
And do we just keep killin time until theres no time to kill
Repeat chorus twice
No time to kill
No time to kill
No time to kill

Warning
I remember I was asking why
And someday you said Id know
All these years, of fighting hard
And now its finally come too close
I cant believe its now happening to me
Oh, couldnt it wait a few hundred years
Destiny cant rest you see, now its time
Time to cry your tears! now cry!
The child of centuries, forgotten in time
You talk in circles of rhyme
Seer of places future and past
The warning you gave us is surely our last
Warning!
Behold the child, his pointing hand
Is raised in solemn grace
His eyes once wide with learning wonder
Now leave stains upon his face
Now see the hands of the working man
Hes leaning back against the wall
Once busy hands are idle now
Standing ready for the fall! our fall!
The signs will come as days past by
For those that claim to see
The blind will stay not choosing to die
Not believing the visions Ive seen
Warning!

The Course of Life, Time, And Events and The Process of Change
Time or fate may separate friends, lovers,
But friendship or love that's true will ever
Thenceforth continue to live forever,
True love conquers the odd with its power.
As time passes by, things change with the time,
Every moment, hour, day, month, and year,
All things have their turn to change with the time,
Life, time, and events change with the years.
Everyone, everything, have a time and day,
A time to change, end, begin a new day,
Change is life, the course of life everyday,
All things change, and we change with them all days.
Only the Eternal one is constant,
All things in the universe, inconstant,
But despite it all, love is important,
The world may change, but true love is constant.

A Time For Everything
Once it seemed there would always be
A time for everything.
Ages passed I knew at last
My life had never been.
Id been missing what time could bring.
Fifty years and Im filled with tears and joys
I never cried.
Burn the wagon and chain the mule.
The past is all denied.
Theres no time for everything.
No time for everything.

Play
day after day
I let you down
promise you to change
then change my mind
and every time I promise you
it will all be fine
it won't be like this next time
the days you wait
turn into years
always wait
helpless tears
hopeless nights
and all the fears
it will always be like this
you give me everything you have
hoping it will someday be enough
to melt my heart
to make me fall in love
day after day
I let you down
promise you to change it all
then change my mind
and every time I promise you
soon be fine
it won't be like this next time
but tonight we play I think
the final set
I push to hard
and you crack
walk away
don't look back
this time you've really gone
you give me everything you have
knowing it can never be enough
my heart's too old
too hard
too cold
for you to love

The Boys I Went To School With
We played football in the school yard and we swam in the Finnow
But the years go by so quickly and to father time we bow
And the boys I went to school with perhaps now looking gray
And many of them from the Homeland shore like me live far away.
Many of the boys I went to school with and that's going back more than four decades in time
Are now ageing grand fathers and years beyond their prime
And those legs that could move so quickly some forty years ago
Now feeling tired and heavy and their fastest pace is slow.
The boys I went to school with have known a better day
And that time takes care of everyone it would be fair to say
Our young years went too quickly and time just flitted by
And on looking back it seems like only yesterday when I was a school boy.
Some of the boys I went to school with to the grim reaper have gone
But life back in the old Hometown as usual carries on
And in the fields near Millstreet Town where the rank rushes grow
The Finnow on towards Drishane and the Blackwater flow.
Most of the boys I went to school with I have not seen for years
But for my fading memories I don't have any tears
We played football in the school yard and in Summer swam in the Finnow
But the years go by so quickly and to father time we bow.

Boys Boys
These days
I'm so lost
In this fog
This isn’t my last
Time
Of being caught up
This isn’t my last
Time
Fighting for love
I’m so lost
In this fog
Of boys
Boys boys
There my pain
Boys boys
There my smiles
Boys boys
There my guards
Boys boys
There my fog
It’s the boys
That keeps me in this haze
It’s the boys
That causes all our pain
There here
And their there
There everywhere
There everywhere
It’s the boys
That we can blame
Why do boys
Have to hurt us
The way they do
Why do they
Have to all attack
At once
Its they army of boys
The army of toys
There our
Boy toys
Boy toys
Army boys
Boys boys
There my pain
Boys boys
There my smiles
Boys boys
There my guards
Boys boys
There my fog
It’s the boys
That keeps me in this haze
It’s the boys
That causes all our pain
There here
And their there
There everywhere
There everywhere
It’s the boys
That we can blame
These days
I’ve been so lost
It’s always a maze
And so much it coast
To get out of it
Then you’re right back in
Again
I’m caught up
I’m caught up
In this
Fight for love
I’m lost
In this maze
This maze
And fog
Of boys
I’m chocked up
I’m caught up
Oh what do I do
What do I do
To get out
Boys boys
There my pain
Boys boys
There my smiles
Boys boys
There my guards
Boys boys
There my fog
It’s the boys
That keeps me in this haze
It’s the boys
That causes all our pain
There here
And their there
There everywhere
There everywhere
It’s the boys
That we can blame

The Old Rhyming Poet
In his early eighties his best days long gone
But the gray haired old poet he keeps penning on
Though many see him as of another time
Sixty years as a poet and still writing in rhyme.
Though not seen as a mentor to the young poets of the town
He once was the Regional Poet Laureate and he knew of renown
When rhyme it was popular a long time ago
And his hair was as dark as the wing of a crow.
Not hard to tell he's known a far better day
The old rhyming poet that the years have left gray
It has been more than five decades since he was in his prime
Eventually we all become victims of time.
In time as in life few things do seem to last
And verses that rhyme are now seen as of the past
But to him to stop writing would be living a lie
And he will be a poet till the day that he die.

One liter of tears
Its’ not how long we held each others hand
Its’ not the spring that we wish to come
But the verdant flowers that bloom each other’s heart
Like a million smiles that brought in our eyes
Those fade away by one liter of tears
The hours tracks like days across the ages
Like a story in every pages that turns to yellow
While the music will never keep to play
And the songs keep fading to fade
Can’t you see the time is as endless as forever?
Why love been trying in tears to disappear
The falling leaves fly on a windy day
Like these love that was forgotten by time
To my one last cry, one liter of tears
So here was I something I hide inside
I ‘m in the world where I hide my heart
Through a hundred million faces that I see
In this world so narrow and wide
Looking for the reason that things must change
But love would fade like summer into fall
Like a river that flows upstream
Like a million stars sparkling in the sky
One liter of tears glistened in my eyes
And all the hopes was faded in black and white
I cried, I feel alone, I was gone
Frozen inside without your touch, without your smile

Time For Everything
we all have the time for everything…
a time to play and a time to sleep
a time to move and a time to be stiff
a time to cry and a time to laugh
a time to be weak and a time to be tough.
a time to doubt and a time to trust
a time to agree and a time to contrast
a time to be slow and a time to be fast
a time to fade and a time to last.
having twenty four hours a day, we have…
a time to be good and a time to be bad
a time to be mad and a time to be glad
a time to be silent and a time to be loud
a time to be down and a time to be proud
a time to be smart and a time to be dumb
a time to be hurt and a time to be loved
a time to be honest and a time to lie
a time to live and of course a time to die.

Hide From Time
(S.Carter K.J.Garside)
Inside her tower she feels free from harm,
I'll lock her up inside safe and warm,
She'll sleep for winter she'll sleep for years,
The garden's overgrown over her tears.
Hide from time,
Hide from time.
Grow the garden year after year,
The roots dug deep she won't be found down here,
Brambles thorns will keep the boys away hey hey,
She needs her sleep she won't play today.
Hide from time,
Hide from time.
I'll keep her heart I'll keep it in one piece,
I'll be with her through years and years of sleep,
I'll make this moment last I'll beat time,
I'll be with her forever make her mine.
Hide from time,
Hide from time.

Seven Years
Theres thunder rolling in your eyes
Its raining in your heart
What lies around the corner
You have seen an hundred times
But you never thought anything like it would happen to you
Babys gone
He walked out on you
Seven years have come and gone
All that time for you
And now both our hearts must beat the drum
To a different tune
Send all those dreams away baby
You can lose yourself in yourself
Hurt yourself a little more
Turn the key and hate the boy
Forget a soul in distress, leave the real world to others
Thats not the way hes coming back ever again
Babys gone
Now what are you gonna do
Seven years have come and gone
All that time for you
And now both our hearts must beat the drum
To a different tune
Send all those dreams away baby
Each time I see a love, a love thats dying
I know what I would do, I know what I would do
But you cant see cause your heart is the way girl youre blinded
And its hurting so bad, and its hurting so bad
Hes so gone, gone away and you cant find him
Was there ever a day, just one day you were happy
Believe in the power of love everlasting
To the end of all time, to the end of all time
In a funny way I dont feel sorry, youre getting what you served
Just you remember very well the lesson you have learned
And its august now, your seven years are gone
All that time for you
Send all those dreams away baby

There Is a Time To.....
There is.......
A time to write,
A time to listen,
A time to learn,
A time to play,
A time to read,
A time to see,
A time to lead,
A time to sleep,
A time to be happy,
A time to be mad,
A time to be silly,
A time to be sad.
A time to wake,
A time to stay,
A time to talk,
A time to walk.
A time to help,
A time to hurt,
A time to scheme,
A time to dream,
A time to make a difference,
A time to love,
A time to try,
A time to die
A time to wonder,
A time to want,
A time to live,
A time to do something.
There is always going to be a time,
But will you do something when that time comes?

All I Need Is Time
B. reneau
All I need is time, then Ill get over you
A little at a time, a bit each day
All I need is time to mend a dream or two
Then Ill forget the love you took away
Mornings here again, just like the day before
But the only change is that I love you more
All I need is time, maybe a thousand years
Maybe a million tears, but I need time
Everybody says the pain wont last too long
Have a lot of fun and time will fly
It took a lot of time till love was born in me
And itll take some time for love to die
Each and every day I spend forgetting you
Brings another night I never quite get through
All I need is time, maybe a thousand years
Maybe a million tears, but I need time

'Til Kingdom Come
One... two...
Steal my heart... and hold my tongue
I feel my time... my time has come
Let me in... unlock the door
I never felt this way before
And the wheels just keep on turning
The drummer begins to drum
I don't know which way I'm going
I don't know which way I've come
Hold my head... inside your hands
I need someone... who understands
I need someone... someone who hears
For you I've waited all these years
For you I'd wait... 'Til Kingdom Come
Until my day... my day is done
and say you'll come... and set me free
just say you'll wait... you'll wait for me
In your tears... and in your blood
In your fire... and in your flood
I hear you laugh... I heard you sing
I wouldn't change a single thing
And the wheels just keep on turning
The drummers begin to drum
I don't know which way I'm going
I don't know what I've become
For you I'd wait... 'Til kingdom come
Until my days... my days are done
Say you'll come... and set me free
Just say you'll wait... you'll wait for me
Just say you'll wait... you'll wait for me
Just say you'll wait... you'll wait for me

Sonnet- Sin Is Sin Always
Nothing's a sin-with time all men may think,
And brush aside the guilt when they may err;
Yet, everything in life, you cannot drink;
All fragrant things is not frankincense, Myrrh.
May be, the world has changed by leaps and bounds;
The stress of recent years is great, truly;
To commit mortal sins, man has no grounds;
The conscience tells things so correctly.
No human heart can stone become with years;
No sin can change its definition with time;
Noise can't become music to deafened ears;
A Rhyme perfect will always be a Rhyme.
Can Heaven take all souls, both pure, impure?
A fall in standards, Earth too can't endure.

The One Of The Future
The man of the future the babe of today
That's how it is and it has always been this way
When one generation is ageing one is in their prime
And the hands keep on turning of old father time
The mother of the future is crawling on the floor
To the human population numbers she will add more
Twenty years may seem a long time but time ticks on fast
And the time will come when she too will be seen as one of the past
'Tis true that the future belongs to the young
The praises of those in their twenties are so often sung
The one of the future is beginning to talk
And crawling on the floor before learning how to walk
The younger years seem for to tick quickly by
And on looking back time it does seem for to fly.

Time
You use it up throughout the day
But no one seems to have the time
The good old days, they always make
You spend your time just buying time
You move with such a steady pace
That never lets you pass the time
For love, or money, or goodness sake
They’ll help you through this trying time
I’m still ticking away and turning your follicles light gray
What you save or you waste, either way, there’s no time to wait
With time on your hands, you have all the time you want to kill
In a matter of time, but it’s life, so it’s just about time
Sometimes you give the time you take
Down to its base like turpentine
Behind closed bars or free to play
Everyone is serving time
Way too brave or slave to fate
None of you can master time
Where you go, who’s to say?
You’ll find me, time after time
