Cold Beer And Remote Control

All of my days have been misspent
Stuffing out the sofa and the antennas bent
Inside my hearts busting out at the seams
I work for the impossible american dream
I got a job at the grocery store
A few bucks an hour and not much more
The world comes in just to take things away
Eat it all up and then they sleep until day
I try not to care i would lose my mind

Days Go On and On

I play. I sing and write a rhyme.
These 3 things consume my time.
and my days go on and on.

I think. I dream and wake up tired.
These 3 things have got me wired

I eat. I drink and watch my weight.
These 3 things can just frustrate
and my days go on and on.

I worry. I stew and then obsess.
These 3 things create a mess

I weep. I laugh and then I swear.

Who Am I? -Cory's Story

I am running all the time
but I'm running down hill;

I am thinking all the time
but clear thinking is foggy to me most times.

I do things sometimes and can't remember what.

I do things sometimes and can't remember why.

I have days I just want not to see no one;
just want to hide.

I think certain days
others are looking at me.

I think certain days
others are better than me.

I don't want to go into certain things in detail-
the detail will hurt,
need to keep it general and light,
not get too heavy in my mind.

Don't want to be like others because I can't.

Don't want to adjust
because it will
make me crazy.

I prefer people think I am dull and lazy
rather than I've tried and failed.

Don't want any one to get to know me too well;
I might be judged.

I have a secret side of me no one knows
that is superior over others.

I run away from feeling down
and tried being happy-
didn't like it;
it didn't work out too well.

What is wrong with me?

I was born in the wrong century
I should be a pirate
and not polite
or effete.

And another thing
I really like being around people
but I don't really like them to talk to me.

But we can't take part in them,

Go Ahead And Run

Everyday is the same ol thing
I still do the same ol thing
Time keeps on going by
Yet I'm still stuck in the past
While I watch everyone move on
I still sit and remember all the things I use to do
All the things I got away with
All the people I use to hang out with
All the wrongs we did and laughed about it
Now when I try to go forward
It seems like I get pushed back
What's holding me back?
Why cant I just move on?
I watch all my friends leave me
Especially my loved ones
I start to fall for someone
Next thing I know
Poof they gone
Is it me?
Are they running away from me?
Or am I not running with them
Whats so wrong with staying here?
They say life is hard
So why would u run from it?
Whatever their running from
It's only going to be waiting for you
Where ever you go
